I Was Lied to, Overcharged & Scammed - I Demand a Refund I went to this salon excited to get my nails done, but I left feeling completely scammed, overcharged, and taken advantage of. The Pedicure - Lied to & Overcharged Kim started with my pedicure, which I specifically requested to be gel. However, I realized later that she never used an LED light to cure the polish, meaning she lied to me and just used regular polish while charging me for gel. The next day, my toenail polish chipped--proving it was NOT gel. That alone would have been bad enough, but then she also over-filed my calluses so aggressively on one foot that I am now in pain. I trusted that she knew what she was doing, but this was completely careless. To make matters worse, throughout my pedicure, she kept pressuring my boyfriend to get a pedicure too, even though he only wanted a basic manicure. It felt like she was more focused on squeezing more money out of us than actually providing a good service. The Manicure - Poor Quality & Painful Process For my manicure, I had asked for builder gel extensions, but instead, Kim tried to use stick-on nails until I corrected her. The service itself was uncomfortable and painful. Throughout the process, I felt intense burning multiple times because she over-filed my nails with the drill and applied the gel too thickly. When I told her it was burning, she completely dismissed me, saying my nails were just "sensitive." This is NOT true. Burning happens when gel is applied incorrectly and over-filed, creating heat buildup. She was negligent and careless, and I had to sit through painful burning because of it. I also had to tell her multiple times my nails were filed crooked. The Overcharge - Completely DISHONEST Pricing I was in the salon for nearly 3 hours (she even rescheduled another client just to keep working on my nails), and when it came time to pay, I was told: * Pedicure: $90 (which was supposed to be gel but wasn't) * Gel manicure: $70 * Boyfriend's basic manicure: $20 Even after a 10% discount, the total came to $180. That didn't seem right, so after I left, I checked the salon's online prices to make sure I was charged correctly, and I was NOT. The listed prices were lower than what I was charged. We were blatantly scammed--overcharged beyond what was advertised--and we even tipped generously on top of that. I cannot believe someone would intentionally take advantage of paying customers like this. The Aftermath - No Response, No Accountability On top of everything, Kim asked me invasive financial questions about how much I pay for rent. At the time, I thought it was just small talk, but looking back, it felt like she was trying to gauge how much money she could get out of me. My boyfriend works very hard for his money and spent his last $200 on this as a Valentine's Day gift, only for us to be completely ripped off. This is beyond unacceptable. When I got home, I was so upset I cried--not just because of the overcharge but because I felt helpless. There was no one else at the salon to speak to--just Kim and one other girl. I have tried reaching out on Facebook and other platforms, but NO ONE has responded. This Needs to Be Fixed - I Will Take Action If Nothing Is Done At this point, I am demanding a refund for the overcharge. If I do not hear back immediately, I will: Dispute the charge with my bank. Report this salon to consumer protection agencies. Escalate this further to prevent others from being scammed. To the Owner - Do the Right Thing. This was blatant dishonesty, price gouging, and an unacceptable way to treat paying customers. I don't have unlimited money to throw away, and neither do most people. To take advantage of customers--especially working-class people who trusted you to provide a fair service--is truly disgusting. I hope the owner does the right thing and refunds the money that was unfairly taken from us. No one should EVER have to go through this. read more

I would have been ok with this place, except that last time I went my nails started chipping a week after they were done. Thinking, ok, I'll give them another chance. Went there again today. It was ok. I am from NY and understand surge/high rent pricing. My gel full set was reasonable at $45. The polish is a little close to the cuticles but, I was happy to walk in with no appointment. But for my toes I was left puzzled. I just got gel polish put on my toes. No pedicure. That was $30. When I questioned that she said just for the polish was $30 and a gel pedicure was $50. I came here because my usual nail salon was closed and this place had decent reviews. I came in an hour before close and who I assume is the owner made me feel very unwelcomed because of it. I got a gel polish change and he rushed through the whole thing. All of my nails are significantly uneven in length and shape. He smudged the polish and didn't fix it. Updated Review. Tried this place for a Fill - Was Terrible ! He didn't say a word to me - and cut my nails very very short ! He also filed the sides of my skin and made them raw and they were bleeding. Such a terrible experience. I should have learned my lesson from the first time I went. Out of towner- came to this place to do my nails since i was here from out of town on a conference and had some time to kill (I get my nails done every week at home). I asked for a simple manicure and they looked at me as if I was crazy. So after a 30 minute wait, it's my turn and I picked my color. Sat down and again said it was a manicure, not gel. So the man that did my nails filed them down and never did the sides and they're not even. Then he didn't cut any of the cuticles so some of my nails look stubby. Then when he painted them, he looked as if he was coloring my nails - trying to say in the lines - so much so that all my nails look like the attached picture. My first review was positive. I went here for a few years. I've been getting my nails done for 25 years in NY, took good care of my nails. Once I came to Sarasota I thought I found a really good place. The Nails Place on Cooper Creek by BJ's. They did my nails for my wedding, did a nice job, After a while my nail bed started to lift. At the salon they said not to worry about it and put glue of all things. I don't think that's what they teach you to do in school, do they?After the second time my nail bed looked like it was lifting more. They said not to worry again. That was the last time I went there. The nail bed looked like it was going to fall completely off!! My doctor said I was going to lose my nail! 3/4 of the nail bed came off, & very painful, happy it grew back BUT, it has a permanent split in the middle all the way down and keeps splitting very painful. Nickel and dime to the extreme. This place is cheap, everything is an up charge and the workmanship is shoddy. The nail I paid to have fixed broke the following day as he would not put a tip on, only acrylic. It was "fixed" the following day the same way. This was the worst eyebrow wax I have ever had. I got my eyebrows waxed and went to work. I work 5 mins away. As soon as I got to work my eyebrows were burning. So I went back and she said it was from the wax irriation. So she put some aloe on it and told me to just buy some. The next day the irritation wasn't gone. She either had the wax to hot or bc she rubbed on my eyelids tried to wax my eyelids. I called and spoke calm to the manager bc I really wanted to make a damn scene bc I was unsure if this was going to scar.
