I reached out to Cali's Finest Tacos via Yelp and Instagram to cater my sister and brother in law's baby shower and they were responsive between both apps! I continued the inquiry through IG, they were available the date that we needed the cater and everything going forward was a breeze. They were communicative and sent over their menu and package which were very fair prices. I did not have the final headcount the day I inquired, but she assured me that if the final headcount changed, I can message her and the quote would be adjusted accordingly. The day of the baby shower, they were communicative and had no issues setting up and taking down! The tacos meats were so delicious, especially the Al Pastor! All the toppings (cilantro, onion, lime, etc) were in a covered stainless steel chafing dish which is the little touch I appreciated since it was a HOT summer day and a generous amount of different tacos sauces provided! Everyone enjoyed the tacos!! They were professional, kind, and accommodating to the party. I used CFT for my gender reveal, they did me a huge solid since I booked them last minute. Their staff was very professional and organized. We had the azada, chicken, pastor, and papa tacos. They were all a big hit, especially the papa. We also got aguas frescas with them which were also refreshing. The service provided by Cali's Finest Tacos at the event we booked them for this past weekend was not the service that we agreed to per our invoice/ and or thought we paid for. I found them through my cousin who had booked them just a few weeks before for an event. I reached out to the owner and shared some honest feedback, that although the meat was extremely over seasoned at my cousins event I was still willing to book them for my event and I was looking forward to it. The owner was nice and originally provided great customer service. When I reached out after my event to report issues that occurred, the responses and behavior I received via text from the owner were very rude and unprofessional. He did not take any accountability for the several inconveniences made on the businesses end, instead he made an excuse for every inconvenience encountered. One of the servers at our event advised that we would be compensated due to the issues reported below but per the owner via text later that evening, he advised that they do not do refunds and that the best they could do would be to offer $100 off of a next event. I believe that due to the several issues that we encountered at our event some compensation was warranted. The tacos were delicious and the two young server's who arrived were nice and respectful but... -They did not show up on time -They forgot our Agua Pepino -They forgot the yellow chili peppers -Serving time was supposed to be from 1300-1500. They served from 1345-1530 -They ran out of cilantro an hour into serving which is something we were hoping would not happen and the reason we paid for more food than the guest count we were expecting so we could be sure that our guests would have more than enough of everything. -They served what looked like canned refried beans and not the pinto beans -I spotted a long piece of hair mixed in with the meat hanging from one of the plates the server was making and I quietly brought it to his attention without causing a scene so none of my guests would be disappointed/ and or unsatisfied. FYI- there's no way the hair could have belonged to any of my guest as when you book a taco caterer you know that you do not prep, touch or serve the food. -The two young servers who showed up were dressed in white beaters and one of them had hickies all over his neck. I did not expect for them to show up in suits but they could have definitely looked more presentable for the occasion. read more
