It didn't affect us BUT he was bilingual and very good at spanish with his other guests 7. Very important - Our driver/ tour guide was amazing ! His name was John G. Very knowledgeable about everything LA even the history . He knew something about everything . Plants , trees , buildings , where stars lived , gee wiz things, even things about the other guests states they were from . Everything !! Too much too list . He enjoyed his job . We did not have a vibrant bus but that didn't stop his overall enthusiasm and motivation . I hope everyone have him a tip. He earned every bit of it . For our first trip to Taiwan, it was hard to believe the places we went were actually "Taiwan". Sun-Moon Lake for example, felt like a high mountain lake in Europe. He was so friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable... and he let us pick the music (extra points)! We were a group of 9 and did the South OC pickup from San Juan Capistrano. The shuttle van fits a total of 14, so we were joined by another couple and pair of sisters, who thankfully, were really cool people, so it wasn't awkward at all. The shuttle van was very comfortable and Joseph provided waters and snacks, but you can also bring your own if you like. We visited 4 wineries in total, tastings and winery tours were included in the ticket price, and most wineries offer a 10-25% discount on bottle purchases through Best Coast Tours as well. You can even order your lunch in advance, not included in the ticket price, to be delivered during your lunch stop on the tour. We chose that option and enjoyed our lunch seated at a table on the grass listening to live music. Everything was so convenient and we really got lucky with the beautiful weather. Overall it was a great experience, I would definitely recommend Best Coast Tours to anyone from SoCal looking to spend a day out in Temecula without any of the stress of planning and coordinating. Whenever we have family or friends visiting from out of state or overseas, it's one of our favorite activities because it's a relaxing way to see the Port of Long Beach, the Queen Mary, and, if you're lucky, the sea lions. We brought another group yesterday, and everyone enjoyed the tour. The only downside, in my opinion, is the boats used for the harbor tour. Yesterday we were on the Kristina, and in the past we've also been on the Caroline, which we chartered for my mother's ash-scattering ceremony about 14 years ago. Both vessels are showing their age. I also think the marketing could be clearer. The photos on the website and many travel sites prominently feature the newer catamarans, which gives the impression that those are the boats used for the harbor tour. I actually called ahead to ask and learned that the harbor tours use different vessels. While I appreciated getting the correct information, many first-time visitors probably wouldn't think to ask and may expect the newer boats shown in the advertising. The harbor tour itself is still worthwhile, and we'll likely continue bringing our guests because we genuinely enjoy the experience. I just hope Harbor Breeze considers updating or refurbishing the harbor tour vessels and making the marketing a little clearer so guests know exactly what to expect.
