We had the unfortunate luck of the window on the front of our home cracking after it was hit just…read moreright by a rock kicked up from the lawnmower. We called Glass Doctor after seeing their vehicle in our neighborhood working on a home that just went under contract. The process to receive a quote seemed painless. They sent someone out within a week to measure the window and take photos to ensure they ordered the correct product. I put a deposit down, the window was ordered and they scheduled to come install two weeks later. Upon install the gentleman had difficulty replacing the window, as our plantation shutters were "in the way." While this should have been mentioned at our initial "quote" visit, it wasn't. My husband removed the entire shutter, caulking, nails and all so the gentleman could have better access to the window. Unfortunately at some point a piece of the window lock was broken. He assured us the company would take care of replacement, took photos of the window, took the broken piece with him to "match" the color and went on his way. Weeks went by with no word. Eventually we heard the wrong part had been sent and they were waiting on another one. Another week. Meanwhile, our front shutters were still sitting and waiting to be put back up. Finally they texted that the part had arrived and they would be out to replace it in the next few days. A new gentleman came to replace it. He was just as confused as we were when he pulled out the WHITE replacement for our BEIGE window lock. He assured us the office must have made a mistake, but left us with the white piece so that our window would be functional in the meantime. We contacted the office to let them know about the mixup and we're told "Yeah, white was the only color we could find. I Can have a manager call you if you want." I was disappointed regarding the lack of care taken to make right a situation we had been exceptionally patient and kind regarding. It's been radio silent since. No manager call. I'm guessing we're stuck footing the time, energy and cost to have a product that matches on our high end window as well as have our shutters put back up. Our circumstances did not follow the usual reason for looking for a reliable body shop...we purchased what was supposed to be a 2025 certified pre owned (CPO) Hyundai from a dealership. We found out after the fact that the vehicle actually does not qualify as a CPO due the having been involved in an accident and having a front fender and a front door replaced with parts that do not have VINs that match the VIN of the vehicle. To further complicate this, the GM at the dealer claims ignorance of this absolute fact stating that they relied on the Carfax that does not show an accident...well, if his statement was actually true, then "why" were the photos in CPO inspection documentation that we were provided altered to attempt to show the correct VIN on front passenger door (if you actually were NOT aware of the vehicle being in an accident, then you would not need to FAKE the photo....right?) At any rate this has been referred to the Hyundai National Customer service folks. Hyundai National asked for all the documentation that we could provide so we asked the good folks at Master Match Collision Repair to conduct a forensic inspection of our vehicle and issue a written statement of findings. Conclusions - Right front fender, no VIN tag, was replaced, right front door, wrong VIN tag, had been replaced, right rear door repainted, missing gromets, right front fender liner damaged and should be replaced. Passenger side missing three retainer clips that help hold the front bumper cover on. We found that the VIN on front passenger door belonged to a donor vehicle, a 2024 Elantra (ours is a 2025) that was totaled in or around Temple in July 2025. This is probably where the front fender came from....SO, we are thankful for the great, professional, and prompt assistance from the good people (Roland in particular) at Master Match for the assist in finding all the issues and helping us prove that the dealership (not naming them here yet) sold us a vehicle with undisclosed prior damage and while they claim ignorance using the "Carfax" excuse, they cannot explain faking the CPO document photo. If you need outstanding, professional assistance with your vehicle, please consider Master Match, they are good and honest folks at a time in the world when you do not know who you can trust, trust Master Match.
