Insurance directed us to use this company. After two weeks at the shop, we went to pick it up. Immediately noticed a trim piece on the bumper pulling away, their employee saying it's missing a clip. He left a handprint in the paint on the bumper while looking under to see missing clip. Scratches remain in same part of the trim also. This same employee said they used water based paint and to go to dealer to get Toyota paint to cover and that it wasn't part of original impact. Of course it was or it was damage from them. Another week later and I find out they never ordered the clip that needs to be placed. Another employee asked for me to send pictures yesterday. I did. Now no return phone calls and he's in a meeting when I call. Do not take your car to this center and if your insurance company suggests it, avoid at all costs. read more

Terrible customer service and faulty repair. I dropped off my vehicle to get it repaired. It was returned to me with a faulty headlight. I live an hour away, so I had to make arrangements to bring it back in. I made an appointment to have the headlight inspected. When I arrived at Caliber, the guy that does the inspection was not there - he was apparently in another city. This was obviously a mistake, and I should not have been scheduled to come at a time when the inspector was not there. As annoying as that is, I understand that people make mistakes. I could live with that and I would not be writing this bad review if the Caliber employees had been the least bit nice, apologetic, or understanding about the situation. Instead, they refused to accept any responsibility and treated me rudely, sighing loudly with exasperation, rolling their eyes, interrupting me, talking down to me, and overall attempting to shift the blame. I ended up waiting nearly a full day at the shop for the inspection guy to come. Eventually he comes in, and I am told that the part was faulty but Caliber can't replace it same day. So I take the car home and have to drive around with the illegal and unsafe condition of having only one headlight. Finally, the part arrives, and I call in to make an appointment to have the new headlight replaced. Given what happened last time, I asked to confirm that there will be a tech available when I come in for an appointment. Once again I am met with loud sighs, rudeness, interruptions, and the refusal to give me a straight answer. When I finally went into the shop to get the final repair done I am met with cold stares. No one greets me, apologizes for the inconvenience, or treats me like a human being. I do not understand why I was treated like a villain. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

All employees were super nice and helpful and I got regular updates on the status of my car. took my car there after an accident a few years ago. they said they did an alignment which was paid for by the insurance company of the person who hit me and when I took my car for some maintenance a year later they said I needed an alignment and that I apparently never got one, even though they charged for one. also the bumper that they put on my car which was supposed to be new, had to be fixed two years later with no new damage it should have stayed on by itself since a collision center put it on and charged for it. also the paint they put on started chipping in less than a year read more

Caliber has a policy that they do not pre-order parts. Might not be an issue when the supply chain is operating normally. However, when there are current backorder issues with the supply chain, Caliber will take your vehicle apart, then check the availability of parts. 4-8 week lead time on the parts and your insurance only covers 30 days of rental car insurance, oh well. Caliber just expects you to be without a vehicle for a couple of months. Scheduling times are better than most of the smaller shops, but a lot of the smaller shops will pre-order parts or at least return your vehicle to you if there is a backorder issue so you are not without a vehicle for months. read more

Do not take your vehicle here if you have aftermarket accessories such as an offroading bumper. I had an hour and a half of my time wasted. They came out, looked over the vehicle, went to produce an estimate, then came out and went over the estimate with me line by line and informed me that none of the work will be done though because of my aftermarket bumper. I was then told that even if I removed the bumper myself they would still not do the work. The damage was to the side of the vehicle and had nothing to do with the bumper. My time was thoroughly wasted just to be told they refuse to do the work Update: after having told me they will not work on my vehicle, they sent the estimate to my insurance company anyways from what I would assume was so that they could try to get paid for their time producing the estimate. This has now caused a major issue with my insurance company as they completed the process of finishing up the claim due to recieving an estimate and now have to backtrack and reopen the claim. This has taken my thoughts about this company from dissapointed to now suspicious. I guess they wasted an hour and a half of my time because they knew they would try and get paid regardless. read more

I took my Toyota Tacoma truck to Caliber Collison on Moses in Carson City. My truck bed on the passenger side had been damaged. They ordered the part, and painted it to match and clear coated it. Then I left the truck with them for a half day, and they replaced the old panel with the new panel. They washed the truck, and it looked like brand new. It was easy, and they did 5 star work. I experienced a mild fender-bender and called Caliber in Carson City to get a quote. I picked the CC location because it's the nearest to my home. Since I doubt the damage will exceed my auto insurance's deductible, I decided to pay out-of-pocket. They refused to quote or even make an appointment. Supposedly, this location is booked so solid that they won't accept any business not paid thru insurance. So basically they have the time to provide the service, but not if you pay in cash. I was advised to go to the Gardnerville or Reno locations instead...an extra 30+ minute drive no matter what direction. How is this a good business practice...turning business away?? I've used Caliber before out-of-state and was never brushed-off in this manner. I'm not driving to Gardnerville and if I have to drive to Reno it won't be to a Caliber Collision location. Took my vehicle in towards the end of 2021 for damages on my car. After the repairs were fixed a year later some of the imperfections of their repairs started to show so I took it back to them since I had a lifetime warranty on the repairs. Before I even went in I had called to let them know of the Issue but instantly the repair shop owner told me it wasn't them without even looking at the door stating they had never touched the door when they did do repairs to it. After going in to have it checked the manager said the same thing except saying that I had gotten hit again without any proof of it. We went to SOUTH LAKE TAHOE for couple days for my birthday and our experience there was great up to the point where my brand new truck got broken into and all my camera equipment was stolen. Anyways, I called Caliber Collision if they had any crash wrap and Mark(the manager I believe) told us to bring it in and they will take care of it for us for free. Honestly I have no idea why people would put such bad reviews, this place is the best auto body shop I have been to hands down. I bought my Audi Christmas Eve 2017 and have been rear ended twice, keyed and smashed the passengers since purchase, so I have spent ALOT of time at auto body shops since then and they are the best by far. Cody and his team and Shawna upfront are amazing. The ladies at the front are responsive, caring and knowledgeable. They were on top of getting my rental set up and had me picked up and my car returned with enterprise. No other shop has even remotely come close to that VIP service. For this service they took care of both sides, my drivers side was keyed and the passengers was smashed in. I left my car for 2 weeks and six days and they made it seamless. I got daily text updates on my cars status. I picked up the car today and she's beautiful inside and out. They cleaned the carpets and washed the car for me and she's back to how I bought her. Honestly not having a car is a struggle but with them it was literally a walk in the park. My car was taken care of and we were too; you can't get better than that. I sure hope I don't need them but if I do, I will only trust my cars with them. The drive down from Tahoe is so worth it. Do not use this place if you value your time or want original parts replaced for repairs. After almost a month our car repairs were not completed. The bumper was not the correct bumper for our vehicle and not attached correctly. The underguard was left off completely and wouldn't have even been noticed if we didn't drop something under the car and. Notice it. After three trips BACK it was still not finished. Only went here because authorized by my insurance company. Should have gone to Welcomes' Auto Body in Minden. My Mitsubishi Evo needed its spoiler replaced & painted, in white no less. How complicated can that be? Less than 8k miles later, the paint is obviously chipping off directly below the grill and in areas not impacted by curbs or objectson the road. I brought it back to Cody today and he just brushed it off as my fault and told me to file a new claim...preposterous. I would never return to Caliber Collision. I went to Caliber when they were Gilson for many years for various things. Now that they are Caliber I had an insurance claim job on my BRAND NEW forester (not even the first oil change). They did a good job and scheduling was easy and communication very good. There were a few issues with the delivery that they cleaned up immediately. Once I got it home, we discovered the bumper color was not a good match and Mark at Caliber was quick to agree and they re-painted until it looked good... quickly, without argument, and to my schedule. This review was very easy to write. If zero stars could be given then that's what Caliber Collision Carson City would get. They are complete nightmare My vehicle was there for over two months with no communication until I called and still they had no information on my vehicle. It took them two months to total my vehicle out because they chose to not do their job. I would call my service advisor Bell who could not give me any answers and had no idea what was going on with my vehicle because he refused to act on my claim so I asked to speak to the manager Shawn who was never available or was not at work at the time plus never called me back one time. When it came down to my car being totaled out they were completely inapt in that process and have done nothing but make this process miserable with their lack of communication and terrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend anyone to that shop to get their vehicle repaired. At all cost STAY AWAY from Caliber in Carson City until they get way better and more qualified staff and management. This company is absolutely the WORST hands down. read more

The ONLY reason my car ended up at this shop was because it was a USAA approved shop. I have a pretty common car, just to point out (a newer Honda Accord) and was in an accident in which someone crashed into my left side door. Basically I needed the wheel replaced, the door, the hood, etc. My car came with a black pinstripe on the side as well when I bought it. The first time my car was "done" I noticed the stripe was HORRIBLE. The paint had bled, it was crooked, some lines went from fat to thin and back. The wheel had not been replaced, some scratches were not addressed, etc. I brought it back in. They assured me it would be fixed properly. It was picked up again with scratches on a newly replaced panel, a dent in the front fender, the stripe was better but still crooked and badly done, the AC made a humming sound, the front fender was popping out on the side and the left mirror had been replaced with a defective and warped one which wasn't even installed correctly so it jiggled. I called USAA and said I would not want to take it back to them, so they arranged me to take the car to another approved shop (VCM). They've had my car for a week and have reported that the reason my bumper keeps popping out is because the left strut was improperly installed and measured incorrectly and was causing parts to move around hence the humming in the AC, the stripe was laughable to them, and the mirror was a cheap non-Honda mirror probably from a third-party manufacturer. I will never take my business to this shop again and I will inform those who I know not to do business here either. read more
