I made an appointment for the installation of a Motorhome mask I previously purchased online. When I showed for the appointment it was obvious the shop was busy but they pulled a couple installers off their present tasks to honor my appointment. It was obvious the installers had experience in this sort of thing as they worked very quickly and with precision. The install charge was very reasonable as well. I am asked frequently who I had install the mask and I am happy to tell them about Rupert's! I drove an hour to get to Rupert's and another hour to get back home and I would do it again!!!!!!! Stopped by Rupert's to get an estimate and schedule the work to repair a cracked weld on our Ram 2500's running board bracket. It only took 15 mins or so for the rep. to view the work and provide an estimate. We brought the truck in a few weeks later (after we returned from out of town) and Rupert's had the work done in a few hours. I just figured out that I could Yelp about a body shop. I've only used this site to praise and slam hotels and restaurants. A few months ago I took my car to Ruperts for an estimate to repair two softball size parking lot dents. Their price was less than two other local body shops. They didn't try to feed me a bunch of bullshit about structural damage, clear coat or cut lines. They gave me a straight up quote and we scheduled the work. Within one week my car was ready, ahead of schedule. The work was excellent, the customer service was fantastic and they are easy to deal with. This shop blew my mind and here is why. I brought my RV here to get an estimate on fixing a number of damaged panels on the body as well as replacing the windshield and some other things. After speaking with Ted, the RV guy here, and letting him know my intention to sell the RV, he did an estimate. I looked up on Google the relative prices and saw that his estimate was very fair. Then he proceeded to blow my mind. He basically advised me that if I was going to sell it I would get more for my money by not repairing anything. He was so incredibly honest. He then went on to give me the inside information on the best way and time to sell my RV. That kind of honesty you don't find often in automotive repair. I have to say this shop is awesome. Ted Rupert works very hard at serving his customers well. We have had a great experience with his shop. He makes it his mission to please his customers. My car door was hit in a parking lot and the job was difficult to repair. He kept working on my door until it was absolutely perfect. Mr. Rupert is I very very professional. If they paid me to come back I still wouldn't. I needed just a fender switched out and it took them 2 full weeks! They kept saying there was more damage or the part is on back order. I mean it very well could have been, but two weeks?! I had my appointment made 2 weeks in advance, you would think that's enough time order and receive one fender. Angel was the person I worked with, every time I called he never knew what was going on with my car. I even walked past one day, my car had been sitting out front with the new fender on, not painted, for two days straight! They didn't make the wrecking experience easy like the owner claimed. There was a guy named Todd or Tim, he was newer and had no clue what he was doing. If I could go back, I would rather have a fucked up car then deal with these people again. read more

I needed 3 body shop estimates after a recent fender bender. Rupert's gave me the lowest price, so I scheduled an appointment to get the front bumper on my 2013 Subaru Outback replaced. I took it in on Monday expecting to leave it for a few days, but it was ready on Tuesday. They did a fantastic job, even rubbing out some road paint I had on a rear side wheel well. Ruperts autobody has usually done great work. The guys there and owner a really great. However I've had a not so good experience there. I took our new 5th wheel in to have some work done. Repaint the front and rear and that's about it. It sat on the lot from October and was promised by the end of November. I bought this Rv brand new and in the meantime it was not done when promised. I called in December early in the month, still not worked on. In the meantime my warranty is going by on the Rv. Finally I called my dealer who sold me the Rv and told them the Rv is STILL SITTING on the lot. I guess the dealer called and someone must have gotten mad. They only painted the front cap. While doing the work they bent and put holes in my awning from the ladder the used to get on top. They took the air hose that's used to connect to the paint gun and RIPPED OFF TWO VENT CAPS!!! I repaired the caps, but the awning needs to be replaced... NOT HAPPY GUYS! If you didn't want to do the work, you should have told me. I would have gladly taken it elsewhere. Whoever did this should be terminated!. You never ever destroy a customers property because you're miffed about something.. great job on my truck, lousy on my 70,000 fifth wheel.. read more

I have had my car fixed there twice...both times they did an excellent job. Great customer service, very informative about my options and willing to work with me to get what I needed/wanted done. I found them to be honest, and straight forward. I would highly recommend them, they have been in business since 1959 (it says it on their sign), there's a reason for that...excellent work and customer service. You don't stay in business in a small town like Carson for that long without it. I have been to another shop in town some time ago to have my car repaired, and I was not happy with the results. Very rude and they will steal parts off your car. DO NOT trust them!! We took our family car here to get fixed after a unexpected accident and Ted seemed to be helpful at first. He tried to help me sell the car because he wasn't willing to go down on his prices. Then I found someone in south lake that was going to fix the car for cheap and he is said to be the best in Tahoe. I eventually just had the car towed from Rupert's to the other place. The place in Tahoe called and said he was going to have my car running that day but couldn't because the mechanics (Rupert's) that last had it stripped my car of the fans and other expensive parts we needed and we would have to order new ones from the manufacturers, which would be extremely expensive. The mechanic in Tahoe suggested I call the police and BBB and report them! We were totally devastated and had no way to get the car fixed. Ted was very rude and not understanding and told us he wouldn't work with us on getting the parts back that he or his workers stole. I hope this review helps because I don't wish this on anyone!! Oh also, Rupert's kept my license and my front bumper and grill. I actually had to call them and get my license plate back a few weeks later.. They weren't even going to call me and tell me they still had it?! Then I asked for my front bumper and grill and they said they have "no idea" what happened to it. Bunch of crap. read more

The rear bumper was replaced and painted on my 2013 Forester. They guaranteed me along with their painter that they could match the new bumper color to my car. They said the Satin Pearl white color is hard to match but they could do it. They were unable to match the bumper color to the car after repainting it twice. Secondary to the paint problem was the car wasn't finished after they called and said it was ready. Upon arrival they hadn't put the rubber bumper guard, wheel well molding or mud flaps back on. The first time I left the car for the bumper to be repainted since it didn't match the car color. The second time I waited almost an hour for them to finish it. The alignment of the molding on the bumper and fender is poor. I've accepted the poor workmanship and paint job and will never use them again or refer them to anyone I know. I'll be taking the car to another Auto Body shop to have the bumper repainted and molding replaced at my expense. read more
