I called on the phone first explain my problem and a great guy named Greg told me he could not give me an estimate over the phone but if I could bring it in he would see what he could do and they would probably look into doing it on Monday I brought it in within 30 minutes and in five minutes he fix the problem and did not charge me. During a bad hail storm in Moorefield, WV, in April of 2021, my elderly mothers Toyota Rav4 received bad hail damage. We visited this shop, 2 hours each way, and they were able to repair the vehicle and replace the black wrap on top of the vehicle. About 6-8 months ago, I noticed that the wrap on top of the vehicle was peeling and bubbling. I showed my elderly mother and advised her to call her insurance company and make them aware while reviewing the paperwork. On the Caliber Collision website, they state to have a lifetime limited warranty. It took my mother a while to find the paperwork, call the insurance company and then contact Caliber Collision, she did so last month. She contact Diego at Caliber Collision and he asked that we bring the vehicle to their shop in Sterling, VA, for them to see the faulty work. We drove 2 hours each way to show the vehicle. Diego and Gary Howard took pictures of the vehicle and Gary immediately started to explain why this was not their fault. He said, this work was not done by our shop, this was news to us, it was done by a third party and our warranty only covers "car parts" us to a year, they are not responsible. He also said that a car wrap only lasts for 1-3 years so they could never warrant body repair for more than 1 year. The challenge, we were never told this while hiring Calibar Collision and nowhere on our paperwork does it say a 1 year warranty. I asked Gary when I would hear back from him and he said within a few days. Sure enough, Gary called us back on Tuesday and explained he reached out to the third party and they were unable to help. The warranty with Calibar Collision is 1 year and it has now been nearly 4 years since the repair. He was unable to help, it was not his fault. I explained to Gary that my contract was with Calibar Collision, not a third party company and nowhere were we made aware of a 1 year warranty. He said he had the paperwork that we signed where is said a 1 year warranty and I asked him to please email us that document because we don't have it, neither does our insurance company. I gave my elderly mothers email address and he promised to email us the documents by the end of the day. The next morning I called my mother and asked her to check her email, which she did, and there we no emails. I then called Gary Howards phone number at 571-393-4094 and left him a message asking for him to verify he emailed the information. Called a second time that day, not word back from Gary, left another VM. On Thursday, I called the main number at Calibar Collision and asked for Gary. I was placed on hold for over ten minutes and finally when the phone was picked up, the employee said they could not find Gary. I left my number and a message for Gary to call, nothing. I've called his direct line at least a dozen times, no answer and no call back. We are being ghosted by Gary which makes me believe that he was being dishonest about our paperwork showing a 1 year warranty. Our insurance company paid nearly $5k for the repair and knowing that it is faulty and the company will not call us back gives me great concern. I would not use this business to repair my vehicles in the future and I don't suggest you use them as well. There is an ethical issue with their management and possible ownership, stay away. read more

Hello all, if you are looking for an HONEST body shop and that does their work right the first time then this is NOT the shop to go to. when I arrived here, I was greeted by their so called estimator Tiffany Coble. I was shocked to hear this employee speak to me a new first time customer in the way she did more importantly I was shocked at the fact that management and ownership would have somebody like this working at their shop driving their business to the ground. If it wasn't for the insurance companies recommendation to take my vehicle there I would have turned around and left the shop immediately but I didn't know better but just to let other people know you do have a choice now that I find out you don't have to go where the insurance company tells you to go to. This estimator Tiffany will look you right in the eye as she's lying to your face and won't think twice about it. After dropping my vehicle off there and renting a car few hours later this estimator named Tiffany sent me an estimate via a PDF file and a text messages for updates. Only a few hours later I got the text message update saying the estimate had gone up. Does it say how much why or anything? I responded with my text message asking why how much never got an answer I have to text to prover it. Friday when I went to pick up the car, the cashier told me the estimate that was given to me from this estimator named Tiffany was nearly $300 more. I asked why the cashier didn't know the estimator had already left for the day it was a Friday. She left the cashier under the bus. At that point the cashier and I looked over repairs and immediately noticed three scratches that were fairly close to each other, which both of us took a pictures of. Because of these two reasons I did not pick up my vehicle and left it there over the weekend for Monday for the estimator Tiffany to deal with and get some answers. Keep in mind at this time I had to re-rent a car again for four days totaling $160 Saturday Sunday, Monday, and TuesdayHer answer to the nearly $300 Moore estimate was because the part came in higher than they expected from the dealer LOL, and that she didn't see the scratches on the brand new plastic bumper cover they put on from the dealer. So I asked her well how about the two technicians that worked on the body and a Painter, that makes three workers that didn't see the scratch, they claim. What really happened here is that they scratch the plastic bumper cover, putting it on and hope that I don't see it and drive away with it. Because a dealer is not gonna take back a brand new plastic bumper cover that's been scratched up because they didn't want to eat it. They were hoping that I don't see it and drive away with it. That didn't happen as they wished. Having said all that everyone know this was their fault it happened on them, but they refused to pick up four days of the rental car for $160. I don't know about you guys, but I learned a valuable lesson going to this body shop and I highly recommend everyone else not to either as there's an awful lot of decent truly honest, working shops out there. read more

The car was handed back to me ahead of the original ETA which was a delight! The icing of the cake was that while my car was turned it for bumper repair, it was washed and cleaned to the extent that I couldnt believe it was my car for a minute!!! Highly highly recommend them! My 2019 RAV4 was parked at a local hospital open lot. I parked in the furthest spots away from the building where my appointment was---no vehicles on either side of me. When I returned, about 1.5 hours later, both the entire left side, and part of our right side had been smashed, by what appeared to be a large truck. How they damaged both sides is a mystery, but our mirror, front, driver, passenger and rear panels were "creamed". On the right side, the front corner panel and wheel cover was hanging off. No notes were left, and no cameras captured this part of the parking lot. Our insurance company, USAA set us up at their Approved Collision repair facility, Caliber Collision, Sterling, VA. What a fabulous experience. Diego Marceido was assigned our case. He took us in quickly, arranged for a rental car to meet us when we dropped of the car, and kept us informed on a regular basis as to the progress of the repairs. They were extensive. Caliber is a remarkably efficient, customer centric operation. What started out as an emotional horror show, ended with A+ repairs, a welcoming service provider, and a car that was restored to its pristine shape! I have reported our experience to USAA to reenforce how exceptional Caliber is. I recommend them without reservation. read more

Had to walk home in the rain tonight because I naively believed that my car would be ready when the text from Caliber said it would. I turned in my rental car when I was told my vehicle pick up time was 5:30 on the Friday of a holiday weekend. Car not done, tried to call to verify and no one answered. No cars available for rent for the extra week. Already been renting for 8 weeks. Uber app down, family out of town No attempt to help resolve the issue. Now out a car for another week with no way to get to work. How hard would it have beem to message me that the car was not ready, you had no problem giving me updates saying it would be ready? My car has sat on the lot at the Sterling location since September 7, and they haven't even started the work. They claim that they can not do the work, but delayed and delayed with my insurance company so that I've run out of time on the rental part of my insurance. I know, I know, I KNOW what you're thinking. "Heather - ANOTHER body shop review? Do you ever drive, you know, ON the road and not into it?!" Not what you think this time, boys. This time, my (blessed) cousin decided to try his had at auto-body art work by taking his vehicle and gently backing it into my glorious white stallion leaving behind a modern painting in the medium of hanging plastic, paint shavings, and dented metal. But since he's not an acclaimed artist just yet and my Acura wasn't going to sell for $1,000,000 to some eccentric European art collector, I needed to take the ol' girl in for repairs. *Darren Cooper and Caliber enter stage left* Now I know - "Whoa Heather, a 'chain' body shop? Yeah - right, and you expect me to order my pizza from 'The Hut' too? Barbarian... " Nah fam - this recommendation is for THIS Caliber Collision who keeps up with... well, the caliber of bodywork recommended to me by my sister who also likes combining inanimate objects into each other. It's like this body shop noticed that the year 2000 passed and that smart phones caught on and pagers are out. They text you every other day with the status of repairs. Which is awesome to me. Yeah - voicemail, it's there, but I don't want to ever have to check it. And what's more - they did the repairs, on par with other shops in the area in regards to pricing - but Mr. Cooper also patched my tire that had an early demise meeting a 95 pothole. Free of charge. Got into an accident on September 30th it's now December 17th. I called to check the status of my vehicle and the receptionist hung up the phone when I requested a manager and sent an email stating my car would not be ready until December 23rd. I tried calling back several times. When she did answer the phone she told me the manager was at lunch. Every time I call this location the receptionists have attitudes and say there're backed up and don't know when your vehicle will be ready. This puts the customer in a bind because insurance companies will only lend you rental for a certain amount of time. Since Caliber Collision continues to accept vehicles knowing they're swamped you are then left paying for a rental car when the insurance refuses to do so. read more

Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as some of these five star reviews. I arrived for a scheduled appointment to examine some paint damage on my car, and then waited....and waited....and waited. Finally, after 30 minutes, I just left. While I stood in the lobby waiting patiently for my service advisor (with zero communication from the folks behind the desk 5 feet away), I noticed all of the nice marketing material posted around the room. Caliber is pretty convinced that they provide great service. Not always. Maybe they they have too much business. They don't seem to realize that good customer service means more than just providing a nice paint job. read more

The staff was very friendly from the lady who greeted me at the counter to the gentleman who did the post inspection. They vacuumed out my car, god bless their souls, because it had to have been a pain (Embarrassingly messy) the repairs looked great. Scratches were to be repaired via insurance and during the damage inspection, I requested a quote to repair an unrelated scratch. I was assured I would receive a call that day with an estimate. No call. Only Geico related correspondence. A week later when I picked up the car,, the same guy apologized for not calling, stating the car had immediately gone in the shop for work therefore no time. However he vowed to call me with a quote that day. That was 21 January. Crickets. read more

When our car was side-swiped by a semi, these guys and gals really took care of us! Our car looks great and they took their time making sure parts were replaced when necessary rather than just putty-ing them back together. A month after our car was finished, we noticed a tire issue that turned out to be part of the accident. Jesse called the insurance company for me while I waited and got everything approved so I didn't have to make any calls. What seemed like a simple up sell bumper replacement left my truck looking more disfigured than it did with the accident damage. After getting a quote for the upsell, I was called back after the truck was disassembled and told the parts we're wrong because they thought it was 4wd, when it is a 2wd. Time list if I wanted to wait for the parts to come in. And, the revised quote, was now several hundred dollars more. Upset about everything at this point, I told them to simply reassemble it with the new replacement parts and repair it was brought there fire in the first place. Now, the front bumper is more off centered and out of Place than it was before. So sad and dusappionted that I didn't use an I-car shop. read more

I went with Caliber Collision because they were convenient to me, my insurance company has an office or something on-site, and the car rental place was right next door. The work looked like it was good when I got my car back, but then a couple days later I noticed my front bumper hadn't been put back together properly and I was missing pieces from the trunk area. Part of the front bumper had come loose and was sticking out from the body of the car. I took my car in for unrelated repairs to my mechanic and had them take care of the bumper. I also had to order parts to replace the ones that went missing. I contacted Caliber Collision and was told I would be reimbursed for said expenses, that all I would need to do is send in copies of my receipts. That was on 11/12/2015 and I have yet to see or hear anything back from them regarding. I sent a couple more emails to my contact at Caliber Collision and haven't received a response yet. I'm a small business owner myself and find it hard to believe a local, small business like Caliber Collision couldn't get, in my case, something as simple as basic customer service down. I am not a happy customer. read more

I chose Caliber Collision of Sterling, VA, formerly Craftsman Auto Body, after getting no less than five other estimates to repair three quarter size rust spots beneath my liftgate window on my SUV. Previously went to Craftsman Auto Body a couple of years ago to repair some cosmetic damage on the rear bumper of my 2006 Mustang GT. By the way, I'm meticulous with all four of my vehicles and notice every blemish or imperfection. I will break down my experience by simply listing Pros and Cons: Pros: Best price in town; shortest turnaround time of all my estimates; drop dead gorgeous receptionist (but this will not sway my judgement); friendly for the most part - until you find a problem with their work; the repair job on my SUV was excellent, but not without minor issues. Cons: I received my vehicle after repairs on a rainy day and couldn't really do a proper inspection until a few days later when the weather was sunny and dry. The rust was repaired, entire liftgate repainted and clear coated. What I found was clear coat over spray (feels gritty - not smooth like it should) on the top of the liftgate and oddly enough one of my rear wheels. When I mentioned this to said receptionist, I was told that they would take care of it. I understand that these things happen and explained to the receptionist that when I had my Mustang in the shop a couple of years ago, that this same thing happened and had some over spray on the driver's side door after the cosmetic damage was repaired, re-painted and clear coated. The receptionist said, "That's impossible, we don't repaint bumpers..". I was flabbergasted, as her response implied that I was lying. The manager at the time I had my Mustang repaired kindly came out, no questions asked, and clay barred the over spray and I was happily on my way. However, in this case, the car was returned to me after about a 15 minute wait only to find that there was essentially no improvement in removing the clear coat over spray. I didn't want to make an issue of it and decided to let it go. I also offered to provide proof that my Mustang bumper had been repainted there just to prove my case, and the receptionist went into passive aggressive mode and just nodded her head and agreed with everything I said after that. Needless to say, I did not pursue this as I compared the consequences to returning your food at a restaurant and we all know the results of doing this. Would I go back to Caliber Collision for my future auto body repair needs, probably not. You be the judge. But based on my two experiences, I've made up my mind. Good Luck read more

I went here after I got hit because it was recommended by my insurance. They came out, took photos of the damage and gave me an estimate. That is where the quality service ended. I dropped the car off to be worked on and they told me it would take 3 days to complete. They called me 2 days later to say it was done, awesome right? I get the car and drive it back to see that the mirror is still scratched and untouched. I called to complain and Julie told me that she didn't have time to do it (but they told me to pick it up a day early). She set up an appointment to come back in and drop the car off. Went back to find out that she doesn't work at that time and I was forced to complain to the receptionist. She finally got someone to run over and wipe a composite on the mirror casing to fix the scratch, but I found out later that the mirror was scratched and they never bothered to say anything about it. Avoid if you can, there are too many auto repair places in the area for such poor service. read more
