Drove onto my property and asked for me by name. Then proceeded to tell me he needed to get up on my roof and into my house to see what DirecTV equipment we had. He arrived in a sedan- no work van or ladders so I was immediately suspicious. Wanted to know when our equipment had last been replaced. Was asking for model numbers, etc. I think he thought I'd just say "Oh I don't know, let's go inside and look." At first he presented himself like he was working for DirecTV, it was only when I asked him outright "Who do you work for?" he admitted it was a company called Caliber. I told him he was not going into my house so then he switched to a high-pressure fear mongering tactic and told me this fantastic story that DirecTV had been sold to some investment group who planned to raise prices $50 to $100 per month over our current rate. And that they wanted to eliminate local channels and force all the customers over to streaming only. That DirecTV was in legal trouble and owed billions of dollars. But it was okay, because he could get me a "better deal." I finally got him to leave and called DirecTV to find out everything he said was a complete lie. Then I did a bit of research on this company called Caliber and it seems they go-between between consumers and Dish Network? If I wanted Dish I'd call them directly, no one needs a third party company involved. The fact that he was lying and putting a scammy high pressure fear-based sales pitch on me proves that this company is not trustworthy. So Logan from Caliber, let's not meet again. read more

I worked for Dish One as a sales rep. The team I went with was not put together very well. Everything was last minute. Obviously they sell Dish Network and personally I like Dish more than DirecTV. Usually they can save you money but it only lasts for a year or 2. Pros: All installations are performed by Dish Network Corporate which is nice. Personally I like the idea of the company but did not feel like all promises were met for me as an employee. I was cheated out of $1,000 because one of the VP's of the accompany assumed he knew what was going on with my life and that because the manager who brought me on quit I had quit too. So he kept the back end of my holdback check. Pay scale for sales reps is tipped in favor of the company more than the reps. The reps very rarely will get payed the full value of what they are shown when signing up. There are always bad people in sales but there are also always good people. You just have to feel it out. Personally....I feel you might as well go through Dish Network Corporate. They won't charge you an extra $50 fee. Reps with this company have to charge that to make money. read more

Customer service says there's nothing they can do even though their salesman Anton Popov promised all kinds of promotions and referrals. He'll give you his personal cell phone number to help with anything you need until the sale goes through, then he will ghost you and you will get absolutely nothing. This yahoo named Jeremy came to my door posing as a dish tech. I just had issues and a tech over the weekend and questioned him why they did not notify me of another appointment. I filed a complaint with Dish, so I thought he could have been trying to correct my issue. He acted like they should have sent an appointment email and apologized they didn't. I checked his credentials, which appeared valid and let him in for a few minutes. Once he started to get flippant with me and tried to upsell me a new "updated" hopper and then tried to sell me to Direct TV, I booted him. He was rude, flippant and an all around jerk. A sales rep came and sold me a dish cable contract, said that there would be no early termination fee from Comcast, and also told me the internet portion of my bill would be only $20 a month, his name is Ben Canevari, apparently he is a "faithful" Mormon and a basketball coach in Utah, he lied to me and now I'm still trying to pay a bill from comcast for $275 for the early termination and my monthly bill for internet will be 74.95 per month. I've filed a complaint against this company with the district attorneys office, since the people working at Dish One will not make me whole they simply don't care what the sales people are doing when they go door to door lying to people. read more

I signed up with them for Dish network package from a nice young gentleman.- on july 15th told him I would call him back with my decision .. Had him back on the 16th to set up the service.. They couldn't run my credit since I had a credit freeze. Told me I only needed to lift the Experian which I did at my cost.. next day 17th they came back said they needed me to lift the others which I did at my cost.. they left with my understanding that I was getting Dish network premium. installed on the 18th.. Woke up to find they had called - NOT ME- and cancelled my current provider.. NO TV.. Got a call from the supposedly OWNER and he said all was taken care of and was providing me a $50 credit.. and someone would be out to install the service that evening since we had no TV.. later a person from install dept, call to say they couldn't make it till the 19th.. NOT HAPPY but ok.. NOW it is the 19th- everything is going downhill fast.. At 9am called to see when they were coming this is when I was put on hold and somehow got routed to DirectTV === they said I was not scheduled for install and could they set it up for NEXT WEEK-- it only gets worse.. Could never talk to the young gentleman who was here to sign me up - left 2 voice mails,, went online and found Dish one and a phone # .. they looked into my file and came back with this-- We can't not install till next week all our DIRECT TV installers are busy... this is when I went balastic.. I didn't sign up for Direct why were they saying.. because I didn't qualify on my credit check they would have had to give me an inferior package and got a better deal with Direct.. when asked what my credit score was they could not give and answer. just around the bush... I know why because my orginal provider for TV was ATT uverse and Direct is afflicate.. they didn't or messed up running my credit check because of the credit freeze.. So now july 19th - NOON-- I have no TV and no idea what is going to happen,.waiting for the young gentlemn to come by at 2 to tell me just what is going on.. My recommendation at this point is not to deal with this company.. find someone who will represent these satallite company who are reputable. My experience with DishOne has been wonderful. I had a DishOne salesman come to my door about 6 months ago and I was skeptical at first, but after talking to him, I was impressed. This is a complaint I helped my 76 year old mother write. It's sad to see people deceived and taken advantage of especially when they are older, on a fixed income and worried about their future finances. Dish TV's representative (Dish One Satellite), offered TV, phone & internet service at a price that Dish TV refused to honor. They never installed all of the services and are attempting to force me to honor a 2 year agreement that was cancelled and never delivered. On May 4, 2018, a door to door salesperson (Joe Cervontez) came to my house (representing Dish One Satellite) offering bundled services for cable tv, phone and internet services for the monthly price of $170. I agreed to the offer and Mr. Cervontez gave me a handwritten description of the services I was to receive and the cost on the back of a channel guide. Mr. Cervontez then presented me with a small tablet to sign to proceed with the order we had discussed. At that time he claimed his company would take care of cancelling my current service and pay any cancellation fees. They never cancelled my Comcast service. I never saw or received a contract. Mr. Cervontez ask me for a cancelled check for direct debit. I refused and instead gave him a debit card, emphasizing I would NOT authorize direct debit. Next, Mr. Cervontez then placed a conference call with Dish TV sales. On this call the price for the service was significantly higher than the original quote. The Dish TV representative quoted the price of $122.43 for cable tv service only. I rejected the price and ended the call. During this call Mr. Cervontez stated that the call was being recorded and Dish could not refuse to play it back for me. Again, I stressed I would NOT authorize direct debit. Soon after Mr. Cervontez called me, claiming that the sales department had agreed to his original quote of $177, would I still be interested. I agreed to this. An installation appointment was set up. The dish technicians disconnected my Comcast cable, internet and phone. They installed my satellite tv and told me other technicians would need to connect my internet and phone. My son, his, wife and myself called several times trying the set up the internet and phone installations. Each time we were directed to a different department and got a different story. Representatives claimed that they didn't know Joe Cervontez and they wouldn't honor the deal he quoted therefore, would not set up an installation appoiontment. One representative when pressed to explain who had authorized the installation and ordered the Dish equipment they admitted that Joe worked for a 3rd party company (Dish One) contracted with Dish TV but, they would not honor his quote. According to Dish TV, nothing Joe had offered was correct. Finally, on May 8, 2018 my son spoke to Evonne (Office of the President He was given options of what prices Dish would give. Since, prices were significantly higher than the original quote he asked that the service be cancelled, she agreed. We were told that I would be contacted to make arrangements to pick up their equipment. I also asked for them to come and get their satellite dish, they refused. No one ever contacted us to arrange for equipment pick up. However, a couple of weeks later I started getting threatening phone calls because I hadn't returned the equipment. They falsely claimed that appointments had been made to pick up the equipment and missed by me. One manager asked if we didn't know how to send things. I had received boxes but, thinking they contained additional equipment, did not open them but, waited for the "pick up". I was then told that I would have to bring the equipment in person. Although the service was cancelled in a timely fashion and the service bundle was never provided. Dish charged my debit card nearly $200 without my permission. At that time, I was forced to cancell my debit card. Many phone calls have been made to Dish to resolve this situation with no success. Despite refusing to set up service and acknowledging that my contract had been cancelled, Dish has persisted with harassing phone calls stating that I have a contract and am obligated to pay them a monthly fee of almost $200 for 2 years! They also have sent a letter threatening to ruin my credit rating. read more

Have had a terrible experience trying to receive payment for services provided to the company, leadership will consistently ignore their contractual obligations. When I ordered my satellite service through them last year I specifically mentioned needing a pole mount and they promised the tech would come prepared and charged me extra. When the tech showed up he had been told nothing about a pole mount (he's an independent contractor) and I chose to pay him extra despite already paying DishOne so he wouldn't go without reward for his good work. From my experience, this company is dishonest with their employees and inept with their customers. Consider ordering straight from Dish or from another retailer. read more

I am extremely angry and displeased with the this company and their Door to Door Sales Representatives. A Sales Rep by the name of Jacob Reed showed up at my door and after several times of me telling him I was not interested in Dish he continued to push and push in a very aggressive and condescending way telling me that he it will only pre approve me and I don't have to decide on signing up until later. I told him I didn't see anything that Dish had to offer that was any better than what I had and was NOT interested in signing a 2 year commitment with anyone or having to pay the $50 up front to have it installed when I was perfectly happy with my current cable provider. He would not take no for an answer and would no allow me to close my door. I then explained to him many many times that I absolutely did NOT want an inquiry on my credit so no I did not want to be pre-approved. He promised assured me and GUARANTEED me that there would absolutely not be an inquiry show up on my credit report if I went through the pre-approval process and they were only checking my past standings with them. Stating they aren't a credit service, they are only a tv service so of course there wouldn't be anything on my credit report. I explained to him again how I was very anal about my credit report and he gave me his word again that there will not be an inquiry show up on my credit report. He went ahead and scheduled an install for my house and I said again I have not agreed to anything yet. I don't want anything scheduled. He said it was just to hold my price. Then he put me on the phone with his office to confirm everything and the person I was on the phone with sounded drunk. He was slurring his words and kept repeating himself over and over till I was close to hanging up, since I was already very irritated about them wasting an hour of my saturday evening. The following monday (2 days later) I received an email alert from my credit report account stating there was a new inquiry that just hit my credit report from Dish Network. This inquiry dropped my score 20 points and I am FURIOUS! I called and texted Jacob Reed's number that he left letting him know how angry I was about his lie and how I will NOT be signing up for Dish. I told him to cancel my install appt and to make a note in my file with Dish Network that I NEVER want to be contacted by them again. I never responded to me or got back to me even though I received a read receipt for my text. I continued to receive multiple calls from Dish to move up my appt and I finally got back in touch with them to tell them that no, this appt was supposed to be cancelled and I have no desire to ever sign back up with them. BEWARE!!! Do NOT do business with these sales representatives. They will push and push and push and LIE through their teeth to get your business even if it means intentionally harming your credit. Again the sales Rep that lied to me and was extremely aggressive and condescending to me was Jacob Reed. Sales Reps like him should not be allowed to show up to people homes. read more

I had a call from Dishone, and at first I was hesitant about talking to a telemarketer. But I gave the benefit of the doubt to Eric an account manager with dish. He ended up hooking me up with a hopper 3 and ended up saving me $45 a month. I really wanted my bill to be bundled because I have tv and Internet but I'm glad I trusted Eric. My picture is so much clearer than my service with Direct and it hasn't gone out one. (Had it for 8 months now). He had a 3rd party set me up with Comcast which is 100x better then centurylink. I'm glad I got the best of two worlds. I'm a huge gamer and I constantly stream off Netflix. He was honest and told me that DishNet wouldn't fit my internet needs, that is why he set me up with Comcast for Internet. If you're looking for an honest television guy call Eric. I saved his number it's 877-266-8951. I've seen some bad reviews about this company but my experience has been nothing but great. read more

Complete scam! Don't fall for it! Had a young man come to my door in the Ft. Worth TX area trying to get me to switch from Direct TV to Dish Network. Normally I would have just said no thanks but I listened to his pitch and after he promised me a lower bill, $100 towards the cancellation of Direct TV and a free iPad, we decided to make the switch. Well to make a long story short, a month and half later, bill is higher than promised, never got the $100 towards the Direct TV canceallation, and Dish Network is telling me we took the lower price for a year instead of the free iPad which is NOT at all what we were told. And of course the chicken shit salesman who came to our door no longer responds to texts or phone calls. So I'm currently climbing the chain of command at Dish Network to get this resolved. read more

Second time these college aged kids come knocking on the door. We told them before that we were not interested and they were up on my face telling me that all they were trying to do is save me money. I told them that I would call Dish/Direct TV directly and they said we work for them. Both said they forgot their ID's in their car to provide proof they work for Dish/Direct TV. I told them no thanks and one of them called be a "d***" you get the picture. I called their offices and they couldn't track them down without their ID number which I think was another lie. All in all these kids need to show more respect and accept no for an answer. Seems like they are desperate to get money anyway they can. Like others have stated, I was approached by a Dish One rep (JD is his first name) while I was outside playing catch with my son. I was turned off by him due to the fact I was spending time with my son, and he barged right in and didn't ask if there was a better time he could come back (he just kept rambling about the product). Anyway, he documented all these facts about Dish One on a flyer and how much better and more reliable they were than my current provider, Comcast, and how much $ I could save. We've had the service for 6 months and for the most part, we do like it; however, the salesman was full of ****. On our fact sheet he wrote down how the new dish was 99.9% reliable....he told us we could get all the NFL games....and, he told us our bill would be a certain amount for a year, then we just needed to call back in to get another promotional rate. When the installers came out to install the equipment, I showed them what the salesperson wrote up...they both guessed who the salesperson was and said he is know for lying to customers. They both told me no dish is 99.9% reliable due to the weather in Illinois. Both installers said they had Dish One, and they lose signal a lot during hard rains, wind, and snow. The salesman said the new dish had a special product on it so snow didn't stick to it. Well, we had a decent snow with 1-2 inches and I promise you snow stuck to it. Also, as far as the 99.9% reliability, in the 6 months we have lost satellite signal 5-6 times due to snow once, and the rest hard rains. As far as the other promise on the pricing, it did stay at the same price for 6 months, but then some protection plan expired and they automatically added $8 to my bill. I haven't had a chance to call Dish One about this yet since it just happened last week. In summary, we are happy with Dish, but trust me, you will lose signal and have outages, which are frustrating. I'm going to be very disappointed if I have to keep calling back for a "promotional rate" every 6 months (feels like my Comcast days). Also, as mentioned above, the salesperson will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to sell you the product. I've texted our salesman since he made sure and tell us if we had any issues. Well, I did contact him about the initial outages and he said call their support #, we have a protection plan. This of course made no sense to me. I texted him again 4 weeks ago with pictures of the loss signal screen and asked him about the 99.9% guarantee. You can guess....he didn't respond back. Beware of this sales rep...he is a prime example of just wanting to get a sale and could care less if what he's telling you is true or not. Again, both installers guessed who this sales rep was and said they had plenty of bad reviews from customers about him. Thanks for the lies, JD. I had a rep come to my door, very nice, I'll give him that much. Offered up all kinds of deals. Talked the talk and before I knew it, I was signed up and had an installation appt scheduled...I was really confused as to when I agreed to any of it. I told him that I wanted to sleep on it and that I would decide the next day whether I wanted to switch. He told me I could call and cancel no problem if I changed my mind. Changed my mind? I don't believe I EVER said that I had made a decision! I just called to cancel and they almost seemed like they were going to refuse to cancel. I had to get really bitchy and rude and tell them that I was not interested in anything else they had to say and that they were to cancel the appt and the agreement at that very moment or I would be contacting the police and a lawyer. Well, that got them moving and I finally was able to cancel. I am so glad I decided to do some research before I let them come. False promises and lies seem to be their way of business and I want absolutely NOTHING to do with that. I am and always will be Direct TV faithful. RATING FROM A FORMER EMPLOYEE. I used to work for this company as a "route manager" (door-to-door salesman). The company could be a lot better but they could also be a lot worse. I worked with reps who lied to get a sale and I, at times, lied as well. The sales trainers taught us to use aggression to get people to sign two year contracts. In some cases, the customer saved money and in others, the customer did not. The truth is, the majority of people are satisfied with their service but they just don't report it. I have beef with the company because they lied about how much I would get paid in one summer of work. If you are thinking about buying from them, just schedule an appointment 2 or 3 days after signing your contract, that way you get time to think about it. If you are considering a job with them as a sales representative, be aware that 1) most people don't make the amount of money you are told 2) 30-40% of summer sales reps quit 3) If you sell to a customer who has had Dish within the past two years you will only get $50 4) They will take ALL the money you made if your customer ends up with a "chargeback" 5) You have to be aggressive/obnoxious to make even a decent amount of money during the summer. read more
