I was fortunate enough to get Mary as an instructor, and she was wonderful! She paid close attention to my engagement /understanding of lesson content; when I got something, she moved on quickly, but if I needed extra explanation, she noticed right away and reiterated until I was ready to move on. One of the clerks looked it up for me at Walmart, even gave me the aisle number. All of this was wonderful, but the real reason for the review would be their lovely fabrics. I am the least skilled seamstress that ever existed. I gave up sewing long ago. Despite being held in their back warehouse, everything was clean and organized, and the staff were very helpful in getting my things weighed and loaded in to my vehicle. The "Zero Landfill" event is designed to put materials donated by local area designers, dealerships, businesses, and sales reps in to the hands of crafters, collectors, artists, etc. to upcycle and/or repurpose discontinued or unused samples of various mediums. Offerings included things such as flooring, framing materials, tiles, and all kinds of fabric - all free. At the end, they weigh your haul and tell you how many pounds of materials you saved from the landfill. I am very pleased with my 120 pounds of velvet squares, curtain panels, carpet squares, and various other goodies that I was able to score. Being a curator of textiles, this event was right up my alley. To hear that almost 12,000 pounds of materials were saved from the landfill just at this event was awesome. I cannot wait to make upcycled pillow covers, table cloths, and who knows what else with my new-to-me beauties!

A bunch of artisan, finely milled soaps with gorgeous packaging, heavenly scents and elegant, imaginative designs. One soap was a meticulously whittled owl visage; another, a dainty heart placed in a hand, both detachable. I almost sprang for a circular rose carving with a Mexican chocolate scent--but it was $34. I asked about the cleaning process and was told it was very gentle and they took extra special care. When I picked it up, my comforter had my last name written in big bold black permanent ink all over the comforter tags. When I asked why? The owner was hesitant and finally told me that all of the comforters are "washed" together and they have to have a way to identify each comforter. If I had known the comforters were washable and all washed together, I would have never left my comforter. No thank you, I do not want my comforter washed with other peoples comforters - I won't be back and I feel my comforter has been ruined, and I paid the owner money to ruin it for me.

I stopped into Hobby lobby because I knew I could get some good picture frames there. Luckily, the store was having a 50% off discount on all wall frames and photo frames. Hobby Lobby had a huge selection of wall/photo frames to choose from, so I took my time to find the right frames for my pieces of art. I eventually found the frames I wanted, and picked up a decorative item for my house as well. The value of the picture frames was terrific and there were very nice frames in the store. There are not a lot of staff walking around in the store, so I didn't ask anyone for assistance, because I did not really need it. When I checked out at the cashier, the woman was very nice and friendly, and wrapped my picture frames with care to make sure they would not crack or break. I had not been in a Hobby Lobby for quite some time, so I was impressed with the selection of picture frames and other items in the store. They always have a sale each week from what I can tell, and you do get value for your buck. If you love arts and crafts, and need supplies, Hobby Lobby is the store for you. They have everything you need for your projects. It is a great store for the crafty person!

I thought to myself "no problem we're a team" As I cleaned up the mess with toilet paper and weak tools provided by the company it took me quite awhile to fully clean the mess. Afterword I got called back to the framing counter for a custom order. I completed the order with a red face as I smelled of feces and then after I asked my manager for permission to go home and shower/change before closing. She said "NO we're understaffed tonight" I pleaded my case as I felt it was inhumane to have me working while smelling like another humans feces. I asked again.. and then again rejected by "Liz". At that point I decided to quit .. I never planned on doing this until such an extreme circumstance. But get this, I went to HR and told them what happened.
