We ordered 3 roman shades and a curtain for the kitchen door....on December 4th. The shades didn't get here until late March, but we were told about that delay due to a back order ahead of time and we (reluctantly) agreed. However, the kitchen door shade did not fit the rod and had to be remade. It arrived today - June 8th, over 6 months after our original order date. We have family coming tomorrow who have not been to our house in 2 years. I don't think I need to tell you why. In that time, we have completely remade our kitchen and have been so excited to show it off...finally. We expected that the kitchen door shade would match the new roman shades. Since we placed the original order on December 4th, we did not think that the process would finish one day before our family arrives from Florida and New York. Now, to be fair, we ordered these from the Wilton, CT store which, between December 4th and June 8th, closed permanently. The information from that store has been transferred to Calico's Westport location. The people with whom we have dealt recently regarding the kitchen shade, from the Westport office, seem to be a bit more professional and understanding of our angst. The Wilton people did not seem to care 1 single iota about our being upset at the length of time this process has taken. The product itself, the shades, has been lovely, again to be fair. We were allowed to bring home lots of swatches, and three of them were so a propos for our kitchen that it was almost a flip of the coin to decide which one to install. So Calico's product is good. That is why we went there, but while the Westport salespeople seem to be better with whom to deal than the awful Wilton people were, I would be extremely wary about ever doing business with Calico again. read more

I had a great experience with the Westport Calico Corners. They reupholstered the seats on 4 vintage dining chairs. They helped me pick the fabric, and even suggested some that were on sale. The job was done ahead of schedule and the quality was excellent. They even refreshed the padding in the cushions. Could not be happier! read more

As I told them at the time, the absolute worst retail sales experience ever. I walk in at 5:40 p.m. and get looked up and down, maybe because I am wearing a t-shirt and flip flops on an October evening. I get help with hardware for my draperies made elsewhere and pay right away. I then start looking at fabric swatches for more draperies. A rep apologizes for nobody offering to help but that it's Friday and they want to go home. A moment later I hear them discussing when I am going to leave, so I confirm with them that I have til 6:00 p.m. At 5:55, with the cleaning people ready to clean, they TELL me that it is time for me to leave. I walk to the door and exclaim that it was the absolute worst shopping experience of my life. The manager hears my comment and challenges me. I explained how a rep admitted that I was being ignored and that even after just purchasing hundreds of dollars in products, I was told to leave at 5:55 even though I was told that they closed at 6:00. There were no apologies and I left the store at 5:56 p.m. My designer agreed with one of the samples being perfect, so I went out of my way and purchased fabric at the Wilton, CT Calico Corners store instead. Ironically, I was put on their postal mailing lists and have had a tough time getting them to stop sending me their junkmail. After growing up in our family owned stores and knowing to always be polite, I don't expect POMPOUS, especially from a lower end fabric chain store. read more

Spent over $1,000 on a duvet cover and the store associate made it impossible to apply a $20 offer for signing up for email on the website. I brought the coupon into the store when I went to pick up the duvet cover (that they already charged me for) and the sales person didn't know how to apply the code and told me to call back and ask someone to handle it on the phone. Next sales person says it's not possible to apply the offer because we already got a discount on the fabric. So then I call the Calico customer service 800 # and they say that's not true but can't figure out how to address the issue and basically say it's too late since the purchase was already made. And then suggests that I use the coupon on my next purchase... I suggest Calico improve their training for customer service & sales folks. Bad experience. read more

I have used this Westport store at least 4 times in the past 2 years and have found them courteous and very helpful-both in selecting fabric and designs for my windows as well as buying furniture and coordinating colors with my existing furniture. The designing staff have been polite, responsive and very good at tailoring suggestions to my taste and style. It is my go-to place for home design. I have found the quality to be very good to excellent and the slipcovers fit well. The installer who came to my home to measure and place my drapery could not have been nicer. read more

I have shopped at Calico for many years. They made my dining room and bedroom curtains,reupholstered my family room furniture , made some bedspreads a headboard and many throw pillows. Everything is beautiful and nicely made. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. The store is not overwhelming with fabric books everywhere, but instead they have bigger samples. Some fabrics are pricey, but most are reasonable . read more

This doesn't bode well. Tried to order fabric over the phone, and before I could finish telling the saleswoman how to spell it and give her the color (had sample) she interrupted me three times then said, "I still can't find it." She was imperious . I cut in and finally asked, "Are you going to let me finish telling you how to spell it?" She got huffy, found it, and then when I started giving her the color she chatted with someone else. I told her I'd call and ask for another rep. read more
