Can't rave enough about this place. We got our Caldera Seychelles hot tub from here after doing a wet test - fits six people, has a recliner, and such a powerful foot-massage jet right in the middle. We've had the hot tub now for two years, use it weekly, and are completely obsessed. It's the most soothing way to start and end the day. We also got their monthly valet service cause there's no playin around with a hot tub, and they do a bang-up job every time. It's so clean and they're so reliable, texting the day before that they're coming by. Even the smell of the hot tub after they clean it is heavenly! I would like to correct my last review since the owner reached out to me. The original review is below . The quotes are the owner response to my 2-star review that he texted me and emailed me. "We did not advertise that we did everything "in house" we do offer to get in touch with and set up services" - well that is not what Alyssa sold us on, she said Mike's Factory would take care of everything. However, when it can time for the slab and electrician, I had to contact them and set up times. "The mason who was responsible for the slab made right by you by acknowledging his mistake and purchasing a new wheelbarrow" first, the mason did not admit to it and I had to send him a picture to prove it. Second, Mike's hired the mason so it a reflection on your business. And lastly the mason purchased me a smaller wheelbarrow than my original and then I called him out on it so be bought me the correct one. "Mike (the owner) offered more than apology, as he gave you a 6 month FREE valet service, which is $1,000) -mike only gave me 6 months free after I asked. Prior he only offered an apology. He also told me it was a $500 value" I am sure my experience is not like everyone's, but it was a bad one. The experience from start to finish was unpleasant for my wife and I. Mike factory direct contracts a 3rd party mason to do the spa slab, (everything is not in house as advertised). The mason and his team first put a slab down without a sound foundation, so they had to come back and demo the slab. Which I had to push back the electrician, who is also 3rd party contracted, not in house as advertised. The mason and his team demo the slab and use my wheelbarrow, which they broke and then denied they used it, threw pieces of the stone slab all over my back yard and even behind a row of trees in the far end of my back yard. Then when the hot tub came it was damaged. Meanwhile all the owner of mike factory direct could offer was an apology, no other compensation. They did offer extra visits to clean and balance the water, which they call a valet service. Then the last month they did not come to clean the pool. After several messages and emails, I still didn't get any reply. Then a month later the cleaning team just showed up and cleaned to spa, without any notice. We bought a hot tub that they used as a display and they promised that it was in perfect condition. Six months later the hot tub broke down. When we called them to fix it they took a month and half to come out. Then, when we opened the tub the valve that needed to be replaced was covered in duct tape. They did not apologize for selling us an already broken hot tub and they charged us for the service to change the piece. When we complained they only continued to justify their behavior showing us that they think that it's ok to scam customers. We love to support our local businesses and are very disappointed with their unethical practices. read more

We reached out to Mike's to repair our leaking hot tub. We just had it relocated and it developed a leak as a result. They charge you $195 just for a service call - and you have to pay that up front. They scheduled the service call and I waited at home all day for them to show. They did not. No call to tell me they couldn't make it or reschedule. I had to call them. They did send someone the next day. The service tech took the tub all apart and believed he tracked down the leak. He had to share his findings with the office to get parts ordered. I had to continuously call them for a status. Finally they sent me an invoice for the part, and the cost to replace, which I again had to pay up front. I then had to wait several weeks for the parts to come in. Then they scheduled the visit to repair - and again NO SHOW! When I called, she said he was here and made one repair, but had to come back to finish. I was home all day and have two dogs. They did NOT come that day, as they said they did. They did come back early the following week. The tech had ear buds in the entire time he worked on my tub. Any time I had a question, he had to take out his ear buds so I could repeat my question. He finished repair and left. We filled the hot tub and guess what - still had a leak. Now I do not fault them completely for this, as I'm sure it is difficult to track down multiple leaks. But since our initial experience was so frustrating, I simply could not go back to them and have them come back. I called Redwood in the Round instead. They sent someone out in a few days, without charging me in advance. They spent several hours and tracked down the new leak. Repaired on the spot. Received a bill a week later and was cheaper than what we paid Mike's. And their guys were great! So know there are MUCH better options for your hot tub repair! I would avoid Mike's at all costs! read more

I'm not sure where to start...our experience with this firm was so terrible. The customer service is a non-existent term in their dictionary. They lie all the time. When you place your order and God forbid have any questions or concerns - they simply disappear. They will not answer your phone or email. And at the end, when you do get fed up and cancel working with them...they still charge your credit card for stuff they never delivered. Finally, they do overcharge on absolutely EVERYTHING! My husband and ! really researched where to buy cabinets,what kind would last the longest and where we could get quality service at the best price. We got several estimates ,as people should ,and basically found that our kitchen would cost around 20,000. MY husband found Mike's basically by accident online and thank god we took a drive to CT ! Basically Mike's furniture saved us at least 50% from all other estimates. Their products are the same as everything we looked at in showrooms. Mike's showroom is not fancy at all and it would be easy to pass from the street . At first I thought the prices were a bit too good to be true. however, now that I am sitting in my beautiful kitchen I can attest that Mike's Furniture is totally legit! In terms of service,we were equally impressed. Mike and his team were always friendly,courteous and actually taught us how to compare products so we could make eduacted decisions. They helped us plan,came to our house to measure and then helped to order our entire kitchen. They know what they are doing,Calls were returned generally within 24 hours. Yes, they are busy but the savings and quality of product were worth it. We also really liked being able to suppurt small family businesses who sell quality american products. This is a terrible company, strongly recommend never to buy a hot tub from them. I hv been having problems with my tub since middle of summer. Maybe 4 years old. They said they needed parts and would take three weeks, after three weeks I called and they said they never ordered it and would take another three weeks. I called again and said another couple weeks. Parts eventually came but did t fix the problem. So they had to order more parts. The way they bill u is, u pay up front for service and parts..whether the parts are what u need or not. I think they just replace parts till it starts working again. They hv me for abt 1k and the tub still doesn't work. I should of realize who I was dealing with. when I bought the tub the guy wouldn't hook up the built in speakers without me giving him another 600 bucks. Place is a rip off and I'm to the point I'm going to buy another hot tub. This time I'm going to Redwood in Fairfield! Place is a complete mess ... and one would think Mike would call me or try to get involved, not a chance.... read more

Horrible customer service experience, ordered a hot tub from these guys. Delivered it on the wrong day, messed up the ground level when they did deliver it and told me "nothing we can do about it" (although to be fair it could have been the contractor that laid the gravel, each are pointing their finger at the other). Was supposed to come with a free in-house water consultation and initial setup. Was told my sales person had quit and to call back in a few weeks for the consult. Few weeks later the water turned green, pool store tested and all the chemical balances were fine, suggested I contact the place where I got it. Called them back, had a new salesperson and scheduled a time to have her come. First attempt, no show. Bunch of excuses, rescheduled, second attempt, no show again. More excuses, schedule a 3rd attempt and cancels about an hour after she was supposed to be there (all three times I had to arrange for others to get my kids to various sports/activities). I give up, drain it and refill, start from scratch. Few weeks later, water turns green again, call them for the free water consult I still haven't gotten, first they tell me now I have to pay for it, then sends me a series of snarky texts. AVOID THIS PLACE. Also, you can get basically the same spa at the same price at Redwood in the Round in Fairfield, plus they throw in the bluetooth for free, I went with Mike's because I didn't want to wait the 3-6 weeks to order from Redwood, clearly my mistake. Also in the interest of fairness their owner's side is that I am only complaining because I want a better deal on their bluetooth system and that the water is fine, a fair point as I did indeed try to haggle a little on the price of the bluetooth system. Also to their credit the owner did come out and do the water consultation himself, so I did finally get the consultation as promised. read more

Horrendous experience. The owner is a foul mouthed, egotistical jerk. Would steer my worst enemy clear of this place. Some cabinets came in incorrect and they tried to blame it on our foreman. Real reason was that they measured the house next door. Did not get cabinets on time. They gave a date for delivery of the correction. Date came and went. No delivery. No phone call and they would not answer their phones or return a call. Next deadline came and went. And on and on. On another house, they sent an incorrect cabinet. Acknowledged mistake. A month later, send the same incorrect cabinet. Wrong crown molding. The mistakes would not have been so bad if the owner was not so arrogant and rude. His 2nd in command is great, but he does not get to make the rules. We are in the building business so we order and install kitchen and bath cabinets, an average of 10 houses per year. This wasn't our first rodeo but our last with Mike's. Canceled the reminder of the order. Worst experience EVER!!! DO NOT BUY CUSTOM CABINETS FROM THEM! It has been a really awful experience dealing with these guys. The bottom line is this: if you don't mind having to follow up 3-4 times for a response every step along the way; if you don't mind being treated with disrespect and actually being yelled at and talked over by someone you have given a several thousand dollar purchase; if you don't mind delivery estimates not being met without any communication - then this is a business you want to support. I hate to say it, but you are much better off going with a big box or internet retailer where they have standards in place and follow even the most basic customer service guidelines. I'd rather wait on hold and get a person who will treat me with some decency than get right through to these people. Neither the quality of their cabinets nor the pricing is better than anywhere else. Save yourself a huge headache and go elsewhere. In the end I am so unhappy with this purchase and regret buying from them. I actually had a quote from another place that was slightly better pricing and much better quality but their delivery time was later. I went with Mike's Discount based on their delivery timeframe and because I thought it would be better to support a local business and easier to deal with them if things went wrong. I should have gone with the online retailer as after all of the delays by Mike's I am only ending up a few days ahead but I have been treated so unkindly at each misstep. It's not unreasonable to expect that when they say they will deliver something by Friday that they will either deliver by Friday or call you to tell you otherwise. Not these guys. You'll have to call them a few times to get through and find out what's going on - if you express frustration they will yell at you and talk over you and say things about your character - I still can't believe this actually happened all because I asked where my roll-out trays are!
