Started off with free chips, salsa and beans which is rare these days. The salsa and beans together were delicious. For our main course. we went with the chilaquiles and the chicken taquitos. The chilaquiles came in verde sauce and were huge and nicely crispy with onions and cojita and a big side of beans and eggs. Taquitos seemed freshly made and were also crunchy with a satisfying amount of chicken. We also got a house margarita and a sangria - both were fine but definitely from a mix so a bit too sweet. The coconut tasted artificial while the tamarindo tasted natural and you could visibly see the pulp. Would prefer it with a salt rim rather than tahin. We stopped in for dinner and overall had a decent experience. I ordered the Carne Asada plate for $27, my husband got the Carne Asada quesadilla, and our daughter had the chicken nugget plate. Service was okay. You could tell the staff was a bit overwhelmed, maybe short on help, but the waitresses were really sweet and kind. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. That said, I was disappointed with my meal. For the price, I expected more. The carne asada was heavily charred, too much for my taste, and it came as just one piece of meat. My husband and I have eaten here a few times now. Service has always been great and the food is pretty good. The menu is massive so everyone can find something here they will like. They give you free chips and salsa with a refried beans dip. Their salsa is yummy and you can get refills of that and chips if you want. We came here a couple of weeks ago and I got the steak fajitas and my husband got the chicken. You get your choice of tortillas with it, along with rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, cheese and sour cream. I opted for no sour cream or beans. The portions are generous, although there wasn't too much meat (tons of peppers and onions though) so a little more would have been good. The steak was pretty tender and well seasoned. My husband also had a margarita which he enjoyed. They have a ton of different types which is nice for some variety. Stopped by for the first time the other day for lunch. Not a single customer in there. Ordered pollo ala diabla to go. The staff was friendly and the service was quick enough. The food though was rather meh. The chicken was bland and a bit rubbery. The sauce tasted like straight tomato sauce out of a can. No spice just chicken in tomato sauce. The rice and beans were fine. I've had to revise my review a few times but this will be the last. I have never been sicker in my entire life than I have been after eating here on Monday night. I was holding back on writing this, my plan was to simply remove my previous reviews, but after another sleepless night, I just can't - there is no way I'd wish this on anyone and it wouldn't be fair for me to not give the warning. I had the chorizo fundido tacos. Everyone else in our party had either beef or chicken and no one else became ill. We had an incident here a few years back where they served my son RAW chicken nuggets and we gave them another chance, because I believe it's the right thing to do. But now after this, I've sure learned my lesson. I visited my doctor yesterday who confirmed and testing that this is in fact food poisoning. It is always hard for me to write negative reviews, and this saddens me because I love the location and when the food is good it's good, but I can't not share my experience. One liner: delicious and authentic food with friendly staff and about $40 for two people. Tucked away in a Woodinville strip mall, my wife and I discovered this restaurant through yelp. It's a spacious restaurant with seating at the bar, tables, and booths. Well maintained and clean. We got one of the booths and the waitresses were very nice and friendly. I tried the Modelo especial (because they ran out of the Bohemia) and while we ordered, we dug into the complimentary chips and dips. The salsa was good but unlike other Mexican restaurants in the area, they serve refried beans dip also with their chips. That refried bean dip was delicious. We ordered huevos rancheros and the vegetarian street tacos. The potions are on the larger side and the street tacos had wonderful cilantro aroma, vegetables that tasted fresh and warm, nice tortillas, all served with a hot salsa. She was eager to help us and she suggested the Expresso Burrito when I was looking for a vegetarian option. She served the Chips, salsa and beans first - authentic. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. Loved the burritos. So flavorful and spicy! Their sauce/salsa have added different flavor to it though both the burritos looked exactly the same. Even though I knew it was probably a terrible idea, I found myself craving Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo, so I brought the family in. Obviously this place was slammed, but the staff was very polite, seated us as soon as they could, and gave us great service. My husband and I couldn't decide between the tacos el carbon and the carne asada, so we got them both and split them. This establishment is hit or miss. We went numerous times and had decent experiences. The food is good, although the presentation is a bit sloppy common with a lot of Mexican food. The miss is simply inconsistent food preparation. You may go here and have a 4-star experience, and other times you may go here and have a 2-star experience. This does on with the meals and even the salsa--sometimes super peppery and runny, sometimes not. I don't know what is going on in the kitchen but it's disappointing because when the food is on target, it's great. Margarita's are excellent! My opinion on this is I don't want a hit-and-miss experience so I am no longer supporting this establishment on a regular basis. The service here is great most of the time. I've experienced a few issues where we were simply forgotten, yet most of the time they're on it for refills, smiles, and bringing the check. Speaking of the check, the prices are reasonable, especially at lunch. This restaurant could use a sprucing of the decor. It's just sort of bright at night and dark/shadowy during the day--it's sort of weird. During the summer months, sitting out on the front porch is nice. I believe this could be a much better restaurant with a focus on consistency in the kitchen and front of house with a bit of time and money spent on the interior lighting and decor. Very bad customer service today. We always come here for happy hours all year long. In the summer, we always bring our dog with us and sit outside where dogs are all allowed outside. Today, we sit at the corner and then we asked to move to different table because the corner was very hot. The waitress said no and she said dogs only allowed at the corner only??!? Where are the rules that dogs can sit at the outside corner only? Then when the food came out, the celery was very bad. We believe it was stale. After finishing the food, we asked for a check with 10% discount because we have a coupon said 10% off next visit. We always have happy hour there and 10% discount always applied, but this time they said they couldnt apply for happy hour?!?? We always come here for happy hour. 10% of the food was how much? Like 3 dollars off and they denied?? Okie fine. We were not going to TIP and based on the attitude from the waitress and the food were bad, we TIP $0.01 and hope they understand and improve. Not about all it, when I am writing this review, my partner got diarrhea on the way home and it is already his second time to go number two now after we come back from the restaurant.
