Pretty okay, hits the spot for cravings. Our team ordered takeout here so I got to try the asada and birria tacos as well as the carnitas burrito. The tacos were pretty decent and the better choice than burrito, despite the name of the restaurant. The tacos had good amount of meat, and I preferred the asada a bit more as while the birria taco has generous amounts of meat, it was a bit dry surprisingly. The burrito is there for a very very filling meal. It has a dollop of sour cream, guacamole, meat, rice, beans and refried beans. It's a giant burrito indeed, but it's more quantity than quality. 3.5 stars. Food was good - nothing to write home about. Fairly basic. Although they do have great prices. I'd give it another chance, but likely would try something else. For reference, I ordered carne asada tacos & beans. Salsa options were okay. I opted to dine in and not once did anyone ask if I needed anything or if the food was good. I suppose it's more of a take out/fast food style like Burger King, but some sort of service would have been nice. Staff was nice, but you had to go to them for anything and bus your own table. Door dash order: 5 tacos plate with asada, $15.54. This came with a couple of lime wedges and some sauteed onion on top. Meat texture was fine. Tortilla quality was standard. Produce was fresh. Camerones a la diabla, $24.94. Comes with rice, beans, and two 6 inch corn tortillas, which tasted fine. The sauce was mid. It was not spicy. You know that one person that can handle "a little" spice? They could eat this. Pace brand medium heat tex-mex salsa is hotter than this. My order came with 7 shrimp. The shrimp were overcooked, but I do know a couple of people who like it that way. 4 salsa rojas came with the order. Two were chipotle forward in flavor. I've driven by this for years and decided to investigate with wife and her mom on a Sunday close to closing. Not busy though I rarely see it busy when going by. I think they do a lot if take out. Think the gap between Taco Bell and a taco truck or more accurately between a taco truck and the full service overpriced sit down Mexican with expensive watered down Margueritas and a server that can't remember your requests but still wants the big tip! This is definitely a worthwhile experience it seems no matter what you might want to eat but you need to be realistic about what to expect. Basically if you want any variety of anything relatively authentically Mexican, they have a "choose one" option of so many combo choices including beans rice guacamole and salad. Cheap and tasty. I love a chimichanga and the fixings and they do it here for $4-5 less than the big sit down joints and just about as good really especially the rice and beans. Beans tasty and rice has little carrots and flavor. Not piled in a heap! I got the pork chimi with "carnitas" which was great however their carnitas is more of a shredded pork rather than chunks so different texture. Wife and mom split the fried fish plate which is a bit more cost but huge and they took home leftovers. You order at a counter and sit at the tables for eventual service. No water and chips and salsa brought to you to fill up on but it was great to do it this way. A pretty full salsa bar with six choices and some sliced radishes and pickled carrots and onions to add to your meal. Nice addition to the "salad" component. Mom says the inside looks so cute like she's been to Mexico! Pretty clean throughout including the bathrooms. Everyone loved their food and we went home happy without the $80 sit down bill. Would not say this is the best Mexican food ever but a very reliably good place with so many options to make your meal yours! I think I'm going to stop by for the simple work lunch more and maybe another date night occasionally while out doing things. read more

Their prices are quite good, and their portions were reasonable. Overall, a diner is getting a "no fuss, no excess" type of meal here for good prices. The restaurant is good size and simply decorated. We phoned in our order and picked up ourselves. We got our own salsas from the salsa bar. Service was simple. The Food: 8. Carnitas Plato, $16.95 - 3.5 Stars Seasoned pork, refried beans, Spanish rice, side of lettuce/dressings, and 3 tortillas. The amount of meat they gave for $16.95 was very filling. My hubby said this, and he is a big eater! A straightforward meal for a good price. 11. Five Taco Plato, $12.95 - 4 Stars This plate is literally 5 street tacos, nothing else. I like my street tacos exactly like this! Plain and simple, no rice, no beans. I chose 3 with carnitas, 2 with asada. Then I flood it with their runny salsa. This plate is a deal with the tacos at $2.60 each! The salsa bar was a bit of a sad state. We found a hair in one of the bowls, but that easily could have been from a customer. First time here. Overall I'd say 3.5 stars. I had the pollo asado with flour tortillas. You receive two chicken legs and a small part of the thigh. All on the bone. The chicken was average in flavor and moisture (it wasn't dry). The mexican rice was good. The refried beans were bland. If they were seasoned i couldn't tell. The salsa bar is simply an assortment of liquid salsas. No pico or any chunky salsas. Just a bin of carrot chips and radish slices. The staff were very nice and prompt. The place was very clean. Lots of lunch time business. Tax/tip. $23. It will be a while before i go back (if i do). I'm sure you'll enjoy your meal, but to me, it's nothing special. I recently ordered this on Wednesday. I saw this on DoorDash and I saw the menu on the menu. You look really good and I got caldo de res it was so delicious and I enjoyed it so much and the price was really good. I called the store to ask what it came with and the Lady service was amazing and very happy that I called it was for $18 which is an amazing price for caldo de res I ain't go to so much. I have been missing out on this place for years! New favorite taco place in Kirkland. I ordered 5 Adobada tacos and chips and salsa. The meat was perfectly seasoned and garnished with a healthy amount of onion and cilantro. Also, they don't skimp on the meat. The grilled jalepenos and onions were a nice addition. This, combined with the reasonable price with undoubtably have me coming back soon. I ordered and paid at the walk-up counter. Staff were friendly and food came out quick. Today is my birthday and I was going to chick fil a to get my birthday freebie and noticed this place along the way. I decided to take a chance and go! I walked in and it was SO CUTE! Definitely photo worthy. They didn't have exactly what I wanted, but I asked if I can do a custom burrito and she happily helped me! I asked for carne asada, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese. She informed me it would be smaller than their usual portions, and I told her that's perfectly fine! I was expecting to pay a lot, but it was EXTREMELY fairly priced! PLUS, it was a great size! I'd read the reviews before going. Seeing that it was formally a food truck that had turned into a brick and mortar store, I was optimistic. The SoCal girlie in me struggles and to make it worse, I got this just after I had recovered from covid. I got the taco plate to go because I didn't feel right to eat outside quite yet. It was a good portion size and they had salsas that you could take to go. I would say the tacos are a tad oily/messy. It didn't blow me out of the water but everything felt fairly solid all things considered. I'll likely try again to try something else as I've come to realize, I'm probably just not thatttt big of a taco person. I'm from La and it's hard to find good Mexican. This place is so comforting, I had quesa birria tacos and they were the best I've had so far in wa. The consommé actually had chunks of beef. We dined in for dinner and it was a great night out. Parking lot is a bit small, but manageable to find a spot at night time when the other businesses in the plaza are closed. We ordered quesobirria tacos, mulitas, tripas tacos, and a torta with cabeza. I really enjoyed the tripas tacos! Definitely our go to spot for tripas now. I thought the torta was good, could have been better - the bread was a tad dry. Good condiments at their salsa bar next to the register. The cashier was nice and the restaurant was nice and tidy. Went here after seeing the grand opening balloons lol. Had the #12. An adobaba burrito and an asada taco with a Mexican coke. Prices were reasonable, they brought out red and green salsa. The burrito was thick and the taco was double wrapped. The green salsa tasted like spicy avocado and I liked it a lot. The meat was good but not great. I see this business doing well here! The fact that this place transitioned to a full restaurant speaks to the heart and spirit of ownership, not to mention the community that supported them. I was so disappointed by this place. It came up on a Yelp search for carnitas tacos and seemed to have decent reviews. No one I know had been there or recommended it which was a yellow flag, we're all taco fanatics, but I gave it a chance hoping to find a new option. Ambiance - I visited on a Tuesday evening (taco Tuesday!) around 5, would have expected to see happy taco eaters. The place was entirely empty, even had to wait for someone to come out from the back to the counter. It smelled like antiseptic, and when the server came out she turned on *loud* music that started a headache immediately. I'd planned to eat in, avoiding rush hour traffic, but it was so unpleasant I ordered to go. Should have just walked out. Used the ladies room while waiting for my order - while it looked clean, it smelled like something curled up and died in there. Like a poorly disposed of feminine product left too long in the trash can. If I'd visited the ladies before ordering I'd 100% have left. Food - ordered carnitas street tacos and a small side of guac. They smelled iffy all the way home in my car, and tasted "okay" but not great. Like a weird burned smell and aftertaste. I don't know if it's the oil they use or what, but something was off. The guac was brown, like "made yesterday" brown or "premade, packaged" brown, not "been sitting an hour but made on premises". Ate one taco in the name of research, composted the rest. Since this is a takeout review it's possible they'd have tasted better eaten immediately. I won't be back to find out. Price - it was inexpensive, I'll give it that. Their hours are til 8:30 on weekdays as of July 2024, but yelp says 9. Either way, very friendly, clean and nice interior. I always think you can tell how good a Mexican spot will be based on the pork. Well, the tacos were so good, especially the pork tacos! They were loaded with meat, cilantro and red onion, and the flavor of the marinated pork rivaled some of the best tacos I had while visiting the southwest. I'd read about this fairly new restaurant, that is an expansion from their highly regarded food truck, and at my first craving for Mexican food, I headed there on my way home from Costco. The driveway in is off NE 124th, which isn't obvious at first. This was going to be a To Go order, for 1 moderately hungry pperson and 1 just wanting something light. The ladies behind the counter were great, as I created my own combo, that wasn't on the menu. 1 veggie, and 1 chicken enchilada. The refritos were pretty tasty, which I really appreciated. No tasteless black beans. And the enchiladas had a bit of a unique flavor that we couldn't define, but was definitely good. They forgot my sour cream, but I'm sure it was an oversight. The avocado made up for it.. but just this time. It's a pretty simple layout inside, but comfortable enough. We have a nearby go to restaurant, that is now going to be challenged by this one. I got three tacos with Carne Asada I asked the lady if they had cilantro on them and she said no, when I opened the container my tacos had a lot of cilantro which I hate and they were so dry also my friend ordered the camarones that were lacking flavor to me it tasted like tomato sauce. We payed for chips and salsa which we never received. We ended up going back to get the chips and salsa since we paid for them and this is all the salsa you got for five dollars for chips and salsa.
