My wife, the swimmer of the family, loves this place and almost always finds a great suit for herself. The woman who runs the place is great and has always been helpful. Is great that it isn't just a suit shop, but they sell just about anything you need for your trips to the beach or if you're a competitive swimmer. Was crunched for time and needed a tankini for my newly larger frame. Called and was told someone could help me, walked in and said I'd called, and like that...Samantha was ON IT. She understood the frame, what I was looking for, and what would and would not work. She gave me some terrific choices, brought others, checked on me, and made sure it all went smoothly. Additionally, my husband popped in and grabbed a suit pretty quickly (also with Samantha's direction). Other women who worked there offered some assistance when I was at the common mirror as well. This place looks good from the street. High prices, selection is limited. I saw a hoodie on a mannequin in the window. It was O'Neill. I asked to see it. They said the only one was on the mannequin and it was a medium. I'm a large. I asked the salesperson if they would be getting more in. She said "I don't know. I'll ask." But then didn't move and looked at me blankly. Not a great experience. Why would you have a window display but no stock to sell. Marketing 101. Don't annoy your customers by not having what they want. read more

Yeh it's expensive. But it's high quality gear! IDK what some of the other reviewers are talked big about ... but I got great service! I was greeted warmly. Saleswoman listened to what I was looking for. She made lots of useful suggestions and continued to listen to my comments. I got 2 tankinis. They fit well and look great! Thx! Let me start by saying it takes a lot to get me ticked off and this store achieved this. My wife and I took the afternoon off to go to the shore so my wife stopped in to buy a two piece. She brought them (separates) to the counter and only one got purchased for some reason. My wife realized once she was home so called and the employee acted oblivious but slipped about it being at the counter where my wife originally brought it. My wife , irritated but polite, made sure the second item would be at the counter so I could purchase it on the way home. I get home and we find the security device still attached. By this time it's too late to leave for the shore because going back to the store would make us hit rush hour. Sure seems like they didn't want us to buy that item or they are terribly inept. I see by the other reviews, we are not alone in our experience. read more

My boyfriend bought me something on sale here, and it was too big. They do not even exchange for another on sale item that fits, the lady at the counter literally did not care and dismissed me right away. I will NEVER shop here, what an AWFUL experience. read more

I have know about this store for years but never shopped there. Finally went in last week and I'm so glad I did ! The staff was great ! They let me walk around until I indicated that I needed help, and then they couldn't have been more helpful. The girl who helped me listened to what I wanted and literally shopped the rack in my size for me. Pulling out every style that fit what I was looking for, and putting back the patterns and colors I said no to. At 50 years old I dread swimsuit shopping, but this was a breeze. I tried on what she pulled, and found a couple of suits I liked. The ones that looked good on me were very expensive, but not enough to stop me from buying one. The Miracle Suit really is what it says.:D . They had plenty of reasonably priced suits as well. The 20 something year old friend that I dragged along for moral support found a really nice suit also. read more

I bought my wife 2 cabana-life coverups for her BD. $90+each. Salespeople were helpful enough when I bought them. She needed a different size so she went back to the store. They didn't have the size she needed,told her that they could not order a different size for her, and that there is a "store credit only" policy for returns. Who runs a business like this? I could have bought the same EXACT coverups online and wouldn't have a problem with a return or exchange. I wanted to help "small business" but I guess this is why so many small businesses go under. Poor customer service and bad policies. Needless to say we will no longer shop there. read more

This is an awful business. They have great variety but their customer service is awful. I bought a beach bag that seriously faded. They wouldn't return it or speak to the manufacturer about it. The owner claimed the bag was supposed to look like that. I spent a lot of money the last time I went and will NEVER go back. First of all, thank you to the other employee who helped my son with his suit. She was great and even gave us care tips for the team suit. Now the reason for the 2 stars is because of my negative experience with your other employee: the older lady with blonde hair and glasses probably upper 40's to mid 50's. She was the one who checked us out. This is my 2nd time at this store. The first time that same lady also had a very poor attitude. I remember her as having a poor attitude - no greeting, no smiles, expressionless face, etc. This 2nd visit I'll definitely NOT forget. Was very rude when I asked for the bathroom for my 7 year old son who was ready to pee right then and there. I had to ask for assistance from another employee who went to her and finally the older lady said in a loud voice to not touch anything in the office as its private office, etc. She is saying all this while other customers are presently lined up and can hear her say all this to us. Then when it was time to ring us up for the team suit I was purchasing for my other son she kept asking us several times if we really want this size suit, do you really want this suit, are you sure you want this suit. I told her several times yes, we do, we do want it! Finally she said, said because you can't return it once you buy it. We can't take it back. I said: Yessss, we want ittt. Then when I proceeded to show the store coupon she said we can't use it on team suits. It doesn't say this on the coupon. This was given to us by the California Beach Rep who visited the school and who said we can use it on our next purchase of suits. 0_0 Then the older lady said there is already a 20% discount on the team suit. AHHHH. That's what she should have said in the first place. I used to work in retail. I understand you can only use the coupon on regular priced items and NOT on discounted items. Sigh... This employee did not explain the terms well. I didn't bother enlightening her or making a reference to her unfavorable demeanor towards us. Even my Mom commented how nasty her attitude was. I told my Mom that maybe she has some personal problems. I also told this to my sons as they are very observant. I made into a teachable moment. If people are nasty to us/in a bad mood, let's forgive them and not let it bother us too much. They may have personal problems we know nothing about it. The reason I write took the time to write this review is because poor customer service is one of my reasons why I (and my family and friends) would shop online more often vs. visiting brick and mortar stores. That would be such a pity if physical stores start closing up. My sons love swimming and we want to do our part in keeping these stores alive. read more

Very, Very expensive and they do not under any circumstance stand by there products or there customers. I brought a new different pair of goggles for my son. He tried them and they gave him a headache. I tried to return or exchange them 2 days later. No deal. Any other retail store would have no problem. The ONLY reason I went to this store is because this is the store our swim team is affiliated with. Go somewhere else to buy your swimming needs. read more
