I didn't rent from here but I did inquire about it. The prices seemed reasonable. They had cute bubble cars, scoot coups, scooters and motorcycles (Harley's). The lady Linda was very helpful and they were really busy. I would recommend a reservation so you can have it when you want it. Especially during Thunder week (bike week). FYI they want a $100 deposit for the scooters and bikes. If you want a bike you need to have a motorcycle license. Her response was "F... Off". However, if you have been a victim of American Greed from this company. I recommend the following: There were 6 of us and they kept all of our deposits. I myself, use to write estimates on vehicles. They claimed we were responsible for the pre-existing damages. They city has an open investigation on this company. I spoke with Lt. Clarkson 850-233-5020 they are keeping records of these incidents. I also contacted the Attorney General's office 850-414-3990 and filed a complaint, as well as, Division of Consumer Services 800-435-7352 http://www.800helpfla.com . I went as far as speaking with a journalist from The News Herald (Local Newspaper) 850-522-5180 who is interested in doing an article on this company, once a lawsuit is filed. Do not rent from california cycles. They are in the business of scamming tourists. They know you're from out of town, so probably won't want to make the trip back to take them to court. They accused us of damaging a vehicle when we could prove that the damage was there when we left. They made us pay for a whole new part (plus labor) for a scuff that could have been easily fixed with over the counter products (let alone a scuff we did not cause). I also know that they didn't replace the part we were charged for, the scuff is still on the vehicle as it sits now. You'd be better off burning the money you'd spend at california cycles. Unfortunately we didn't check with any locals or check the BBB before we rented. The locals told us that's their M.O., and the bbb reflected very similar sentiments. read more

They will rent you anything you want for sure, but when you bring it back you may pay a lot for minor scratches that may or may not have been there, I witnessed it once while I waited in line to rent. My Son rented a scooter from these people at store #2. $52 a day plus $100 deposit. My son said a man with tattoos all over him on the side of the road started yelling at him trying to get him to stop. He didn't stop the guy started chasing him on another scooter. My son ran. Come to find out the guy worked for california cycles. Took the scooter because he didn't stop. I ask everyone would you stop for a man with tattoos all over him yelling and chasing you. Future renters be ware!!!!! We rented a scooter on august 12, 2011... After we left on the scooter, within less than 1/2 mile went to turn and the scooter would not turn. Finally was able to get the scooter back to California cycles, they kept my deposit and said I would have to talk to owner, could not reach the owner for days! Finaly did and the nonprofessional rude female said "it's never the bikes fault" and hung up on me twice. I bought my son a scooter from California Cycles in April of 2011. It was used but looked in good condition. The company sold it to us under the premise that it had 4500 miles on it. The scooter odometer apparently does not work and after 3 months of haggling, we still have the same scooter with the same mileage showing on it as the day we bought it. Every time we call, the person answering the phone passes the buck to someone who is not there presently. I am currently looking into whether the same legalities apply to scooters as to cars regarding the odometer... I will keep you all informed.... And my opinion is that it is a convenient place for spring breakers to rent from, but the company is anything but professional. read more

I went to California Cycles to rent a four seater bc I took my teenage daughter and two friends to PCB for their spring break. We were quoted a price of $50/hour, $80 for two hours and $100 for three. Because the girls wanted to cruise the beach area, I paid for three hours in addition to liability insurance for $20. Total with taxes, I paid $129. The gentleman never mentioned youcouldn't get a refund. We attempted to drive the mini-car but it was so wraggedy and damaged that it was too hard to. The radiodidn't work, the breaks were so loose you had to floor them to get the thing to stop, the drivers seatbelt didn't work, no horn,and the steering was so bad that you had to force the wheel to turn. I was frightened for our lives on that contraption. I returned the mini car after one hour of fighting with it. I told them about the horrible experience and I expecting a refund.The gentleman said, "Oh we don't give refunds. You can ride around on it for the hours you paid." I was highly upset because I thought that was bad fur business. I would like a refund for the two hours I didn't use the mini car.I researched online and there have been many claims of fraud going on with this company. Me and five friends rented scooters at California cycles, in the course of our day we were waved down by an employee and asked to follow him to one of their locations. Without explanation we were told that we forfeited our $100.00 deposits for passing on the right side of the road, which we didnt do. They confiscated our scooters, and we walked back to our cars, which were parked at another California Cycles location. We tried to reason with one employee, but were told that we should "shut the F*** up". We also talked to the general manager bill and the owner colleen, but got nowhere. After reading numerous reviews of this business online, and they all reflected similar sentiments. I can only conclude that this is some type of scam they run on their unsuspecting customers. I cannot believe that they can charge us $100.00 for breaking rules that they have no proof of, nor do they have witnesses. On April 5th, 2012 I went to California Cycles with my 18 year old son so he could feel secure renting a scooter for the night. He rented a red scooter car for a total of $201.03. After less than an hour of total driving (& returning @ 9:30 p.m. for the required "oil check") it broke down at 10:45 p.m. He did exactly as told & called the number on the key (numerous times) only to get a voice mail with full mail boxes. He called police & was instructed to leave it for CC to pick up. We returned early next a.m. for a refund. They verbally attacked us & accused him of wrecking it. Today he was notified his credit card was maxed out due to (fraudulent unauthorized) charges of $100.00 & 973.00. They are running an illegal organized scam operation. My son and two of his friends rented cycles from California Cycles at PCB. They then went to get two more friends to rent. Fifteen minutes later, I brought the two friends back to the cycle shop with my son and his friends riding the cycles behind me. As we pulled into the shop, one of my son's friends accidentally squeezed the brake harder than should have been (he doesn't normally ride motorcycles) and squealed the tire. Immediately, the employees of California Cycle came to my son and both friends, made them ALL get off the cycles, took ALL the cycles back, and kept not only the money paid to rent the cycle, but also the deposits. The cycle shop made $693.00 in a matter of 15 minutes. We contacted the police at Panama City Beach and were told that we could only file a small claims suit against California Cycle. As we were only visiting PCB this was nearly impossible. We then put up a sign in front of our condo advising people not to rent from California cycle. We had another policeman stop by and ask about our incident. In the next three days we had numerous people stop by asking about the sign and stating that they had encountered the same problem with California cycle.
