The rental itself was fine, but the company scams people in multiple ways and has had to settle a court case with the State of FL for these same practices that are apparently still going on. They charged me more than I was originally quoted, they did not return the deposit, and nearly a month after I receive a bill in the mail stating I owe almost $500 in damages that were not present when I returned the vehicle. Do your research, read the charges. I will be fighting this, considering they are a crooked company which should not be in business. I'm escalating this all the way to the top and have already reached out to the current Attorney General's office. Read the documents. The charges explain the scenario verbatum. Me and my boyfriend went to Panama City Beach last week, and we rented Polaris Slingshot. First of all, the "security deposit" was $500. Cool right? Well no. We were supposed to get that right back when we returned the vehicle. But, they apparently found "scratches" on the vehicle when we returned it, so they kept the $500, and added on an additional $88. We are not so sure if those scratches were on there prior to us renting it. The lady, Colleen, was so rude and was demanding over keeping the $500, without proof of the scratches being there prior. DON'T RENT FROM THIS PLACE! If there was a negative star rating that is what they would get. We rented a golf cart from them for the whole day. The golf cart broke down with us after a few hours. They came to pick us up almost an hour later. When we got back to the place we witness one customer getting cussed out by a lady who worked there. They apparently were trying to charge her $1000 for a speaker, which they said she broke. I thought that to be odd, but we still carried on our way. They issued us another golf cart and we left. WELP...the day we get home from our vacation they sent us a bill through text message. A bill which they had written up saying we owed them over $2200 for a rear end to be fixed. They took the deposit that we had to give them. Then we get a letter in the mail. They apparently know as much about writing as they do about running a great business. We are having our attorney to handle this matter. From the look of it this place shouldn't be allowed to have a business licenses. We rented 2 golf cars from them and tried to return them and got accused of wrecking one because the caution tag on back had cracks where the screws went. The before pic that I couldn't get until I was off vacating and back home looks as if it was already cracked and placed back together and rented out again to charge the next family again for damages. The manager was horrible and didn't care about my concerns. They just wanted to keep my deposit. Which of your purchasing the company insurance, it should cover the cost for any damages. I should've have to lose my deposit plus but your insurance. They re- rented the golf car back out without getting the repair fixed to the line of people waiting. Our experience with Outlaw Rentals (aka California Cycles. aka Classy Cycles) was simply appalling! I hope this review will somehow help to change the current untruthful business ethics of this company and bring awareness to future customers. We rented two slingshot vehicles (miniature 3 wheeler cars). Their employee went ahead and took pictures of these vehicles while we were paying and signing contracts. We did not suspect a thing (why would we?!), but let me add that they did not do a walk-through with us pointing out the previous scratches on the car before we took the vehicles out. We actually had a great time taking these rides out in Panama City! But our issues began when we came back and checked the cars back in at 6pm. They initially mentioned that there were new scratches (scuff marks) on one ride (the blue colored slingshot). We would not agree with it because we were absolutely sure that we were in no way responsible for it! We asked to speak with the manager. The process to meet this manager took ONE ENTIRE HOUR. Our multiple requests to see the manager kept being pushed out further as other customers were coming in with problems with their vehicles (ie. scooters not functioning properly, carrier compartments for belongings not opening, etc). Our patience was running out at this point because we did not come all the way to Panama City to wait in a parking lot! After 5-6 requests to see the manager, we finally got our one-on-one face time with this manager. He proceeded to walk around the blue ride and point out a previous scratch, that clearly looked like it was painted over with a different paint color... the manager was adamant that we caused this scratch/painted on mark (What?!?! Are you serious?! I'm breaking my head at this point!) He mentioned that the other ride (a red one) also had new scratches on it, which again we did not agree with simply because we did not cause it! We were so frustrated with this whole ordeal and ended up calling the police just to see if they could do anything about it. However, since this is a civil issue, the sheriff was unable to intervene. Let me add that their entire customer service, their tone and their manner of speaking with us was straight up rude to the point that I had to tell the manager to stop shouting at me. Anyways, they took our $200 deposit ($100/vehicle) and slapped us with a bill of $400 for each vehicle, totaling $1000. I am certain the pictures they took were modified or the time stamps were tampered with. I would not put it past these SCAMMERS to do things this illegal. Such cons! So absolutely unbelievable!! I would have no issue paying for something I caused because it is the right thing to do. But there was no truth or justice to what happened here! We walked away feeling cheated, defeated, and so unable to do anything or control the situation that unfolded right in front of our eyes! I feel sorry that Panama City is tainted and defiled with the reputation of these scammers! If you proceed to rent from these folks after reading this review, please TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES of the vehicles you are renting and know that you may end up with a fancy bill that you have to pay up for! You have fair warning! Furthermore, it looks like I am not the only one who has had a similar issue... take a quick scan at other reviews for ur own awareness. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The owner is incredibly rude. The employees are not well trained. We went there to rent a sling shot and were never told it was a manual up until we got in the vehicle and figured out ourselves. We immediately got out of the car to get a refund and were not offered a refund, we were offered to drive A golf cart(why would we want a golf cart?) and then when we said no, they did not want to offer us our money back even though we had paid for absolutely nothing. Here it is 3 months later and they have lied to our credit card company saying we signed a contract that states we know how to drive a manual when in fact, we did not. This place sucks. Rented 3 Scooters for 24 hrs. We were also asked to put gas in them because the last people that took them out did't fill them up. They said they would take $5.00 off it $12.00 in gas we didn't care. Then we had to take them back because they were unsafe to drive. No headlights or tail lights. (Had them for 2hrs). Took them back to see about getting them replaced and they found a scratch on bottom of one of the scooters that had lots of scratches on it. They accused us of recking it. Took all three scooter away and charged us $187.00 for 24 hrs and charged us $182.75 for the damage. We also bought the $8.00 insurance. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!! read more

Absolute ass. Do not rent a damn thing from this place. The first scooter I had broke down and had to get another one. We rode for a whole day and did not wreck the scooter once. We dropped the scooter off and they proceeded to tell me that wrecked the first scooter that broke down. They were just upset that they had to go pick up the piece of shit right before they closed for the day. They also claimed that there was a hours worth of labor in it to fix for 90$ an hour. It consist of taking out 4 bolts and putting a new panel on so maybe all of 10 min of labor. There for these people fuck you out of your money do not rent from them. read more

If you value your life..don't rent here...we were given a large E car..and paid 156.and 100 deposit on damages or whatever..The car had brake issues...then they went out totally...yep it was scary and could of got us killed...they only have two hours drive time and six hours recharge... and they will tell you to plug in wherever you go...but non of the other business will allow you to do that...even had issues at the hotel...when I took back the keys and told them they need to pick it up ..they asked why I didn't just Flintstone it back..I thought yeah so I would have to pay for an accident..totally ripped me off..I hear they are trying to ban these types of vehicles in panama..they are not taking care of their fleets.Your safety means nothing to them...just show them the money!!!!!!..people get ticked when they are behind you ..after trying it out myself...not even worth the hassle...just walk away! read more

Case in point- I rented a scooter for $50 and paid $100 deposit. I drove it off their lot and 3 miles down the road the throttle cable broke. I called them immediately and after waiting 3 hours in the hot sun one of their thugs came picked up the scooter and informed me that it was MY fault and I had lost all of my money! If the tire fell off or the water pump broke it was my fault. bottom line circumstances beyond your control are all YOUR fault. They don't care and the owner refused to even call me back and speak. If I could give this company a negative 10 I would. I advise that you run from this place as fast as you looked it up. Some friends and I went to rent scooters for 4 hours to enjoy riding around panama city. Upon our return the yard boy, who happens to be the owners son, immediately got attitude with us regarding the gas level. When I told him that the tank was filled he argued with me and began using foul language including repeated F bombs. So of course I stood my ground and told him that we did fill the tank and that the gauge says full. To which he replied that gauge doesn't work you have to look in the tank. I shared with him that I thought that was the most stupid thing I have ever heard. So I take the scooter back to the gas station and force another 75 cents worth of gas in the tank and return to the rental place. When we returned he then claimed that I cracked the front bumper of the scooter to which I replied no I did not. Even the people I was with were wittness to every place we drove the scooter and verified that I did not damage the scooter. However because the yard boy was the owners son what he said went. Even the other employees at the rental place said that because it was the owners son that I would have to pay. That any other time it would not have been an issue. So please save yourself the trouble. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT and wherever you rent you make sure that you look over the rental as long as you want before you sign no matter how much they rush you. I have no problems paying for something that I damage but when I know that I did not damage property and that I'm paying because the owners son wants to "get back" at me that I do have a problem with. No stars for this business. My son went on vacation for senior trip. He rented a scooter for the day. Paid the deposit and for insurance. He did wreck the scooter and paid a total of $579 for the rental and repair for the day. Because my son was under 18 at the time, my husband called the company and made sure that everything was settled and paid in full. He was told yes. 4 months later we received a statement saying my son still owed $479 and if not paid it would be turned into the state attorney's office. I called business and explained that I did have a receipt and was not going to pay anything further. I asked to speak with the owner of the company or the manager. I was told "I don't know the owner" and "I don't know when the manager will be in". I further asked why he did not know when a manager was going to be there and was told "i don't make the manager's schedule and besides I am the manager." So I was lied to on the phone. It eventually came out that he did know the owner, who was probably in the office at the time of the call. So being the manager, I asked him to please look at the file and receipts of payment. He said he did not have access to them. I would think that if I was entrusted with being a manager, I would be able to access files for possible problems like this. Left a message and did not get any response. Jan. 2014 received a statement asking for $479. Called the company, left a message, got a phone call 2 weeks after leaving a message. Receipt was sent with this statement that shows paid in full. The lady on the phone says it says $100 paid. I think they must think I am crazy! This place is a complete SCAM. I will be hiring an attorney and reporting to BBB and whoever else I can report to. This business needs to be closed immediately!!! read more
