The service was impeccable. The She Crab...you may like it if you've never had authentic. Lumpy, too thick, no crab.Ordered Flounder &shrimp with Cole slaw. Cole slaw had no flavor. Flounder had beautiful light golden breading but unfortunately it and the fish were not seasoned at all. The 5 shrimp were good but not great. I only took one bite of the fish. I told the waitress when she asked if I enjoyed it what I just said. She apologized. No comp or manager. Basically paid $35.00 for bland coleslaw, 5 fried shrimp, and an Arnold Palmer. I probably will not be back and if I do return I would just get a nice salad. read more

My husband got ribs and they were ok but nothing special. He also had a brownie sundae which again he said was good but not great. It'll probably be years again before I go back. I used to go here a lot, & the food was good, service was good, price fair. I went there recently & those days are GONE! I ordered the same thing I always got & it was about 1/2 the portion & DOUBLE the cost! And; it wasnt nearly as tasty! On top of that, the waitress ( who only came by my table ONE TIME, brought out one of those stupid iPad-things & it had added in a 15% tip! So I asked her(she was very nice & good-looking too) what did she honestly think she did that deserved a $10.00 tip. she only took my order, brought my food, & asked if I was ok 1 time. she just smiled & said "you decide", so I said "nothing. I've always tipped 15% if the service was just adequate, but if California Dreaming is going to charge twice as much for 1/2 the portion, I won't be giving any tips. I will no longer be dreaming of the salad here. It has shrunk to just the size of a regular salad. The toppings used to be plentiful but they are now hard to find. Slivered almonds, boiled eggs, cheese, ham? Good luck luck finding very much of any these items. Ordered a side of French fries. Had a girls day out with my daughter and decided to stop in for dinner. There wasn't much parking close and there was a small wait due to kids coming in from prom. Once seated it took awhile for our server to come and it seems he was thinly spread because his service was very lacking. The food was good as always. I ordered the fried crab claws (never received them) and a California Dreaming Salad. My kids got a chicken entree and the other ordered a rack of ribs. They were all really good. Surprisingly, this place revamped its menu, and it was terrific. I had the steak tacos, and my husband had the miso salmon bowl. Both were delightful. I gave three stars because a piece of green plastic came in my salad, but the waitress and the manager had no issues fixing it. The restaurant was clean but dimly lit, another reason for the low stars. I prefer to see my food when I eat it in situations like those mentioned above. California Dreaming is always the move for a good salad, wings, and bread. Never deviating from the norm - I ordered a side salad and Tijuana chicken wings. As always the salad was fresh - appreciated the abundance of topping. I added cheese it was 1.25 extra. I was appalled at this increase. It was literally just enough to sprinkle. The Tijuana chicken wings are an eight count and also recent went up to a little less than 12 dollars. We tried to order the kid the kid's spaghetti, however with the recent menu change the waiter informed us that all things marinara sauce were removed. The kid settle on grilled cheese and fries. She likes it. The kids meal also comes with a generous scoop of ice cream. Overall. The norm was good - anything outside of that is basic The price increase was disrespectful. I got the blacken chicken pasta but it didn't seem to be blackened at all. It seemed as if it was just seasoned with salt and pepper. The chicken was tender but lack a lot of flavor to say that it was supposed to be blackened. If the chicken would have been seasoned well the dish as a whole would have been amazing. That night I basically got chicken Alfredo. Maybe they were off that night so I'll have to give it a try again. And of course I got croissants but wasn't able to tale pictures. Ordered Carry-out for Pick-up on 8-24-2025. Received a text at 6:40 pm that my order was ready for pick-up. Arrived at 7:15 pm, clicked the link to alert that I had arrived. At that time, all pick-up slots were full, so I backed up and parked beside this grey SUV, which was parked next to Pick-up #1. As I watched the delivery personnel enter and exit several times, I decided to call to ask if they received notification that I arrived and if I could please get my order. When he came back outside to deliver other meals, before going back inside, he walked to my car and asked if I was ok. I told him I was waiting on my order. He says, 'Well, you gotta park in the pickup areas'. I told him 'They were all full when I arrived, so I parked here, so that I wouldn't block traffic..(It is a cramped parking lot). He said, 'Well they've been empty for a couple minutes now". I was slightly appalled, especially being that I couldn't see through the SUV, to notice that the spots were empty, and I personally don't feel that I had to move, in order for him to bring my order out, since I checked in when I arrived, and the Make and Model of my car was on the ticket. So I asked, 'When completing the order, even though it asks for the Make and Model of our vehicle, that doesn't mean anything when it comes to bringing out the order(s)?' He says, 'No, it doesn't. As you can see, were quite busy, which is good for us, but you should park in pick-up'. I did not appreciate his snappy attitude at all. And though I'd only given a $3 tip with the order, which I always tip, I would've tipped more, had he not gotten smart-mouthed and snappy with me. I am a good tipper, but you have to earn it from me. I will continue to order or eat in at this restaurant, because their food is Always on Point, but next time I order, I will not list the Make and Model of my vehicle, since 'it doesn't matter or isn't important', and I am going to wait til one of the pick-up spot customers move, before I park. read more

I recommend asking for a young man by the name of Paul when you go to eat over at California's dreaming on 3241 Washington Rd. Him and another waiter were very polite and patient when it came to us and our kids. The manager was amazing at making sure we were taking care of as well. An older couple and their mother joked around with the kids and was kind enough to pay for our meal tonight. The environment was very quiet and very clean. That was a blessing! I'm disappointed in the service I received this evening. I was a guest within a party of 10 we came around 8:30. Our server Chris did not make us feel welcomed. He wasn't attentive to us and it came across as a bit rude. I ordered a salad and didn't receive any croissants when I asked Chris for at least one croissant he told me the salad doesn't come with croissants but I've dined at CD plenty of times to know that isn't true. We also were told we couldn't order shrimp for the pasta but had to settle for chicken. It really felt like we were rushed and just didn't need to be there this night. We were celebrating a family member getting a promotion at work so this really dampened our mood. I hope Chris has a better night if we decide to comeback again. I remembered this spot from a few years ago when I was in town for work. Back again and scoured the world wide web looking for this spot. Couldn't remember the name. All I could remember was the amazing salads! Once again, this spot dis not disappoint! I had the Gala Apple salad and it was delicious! Perfect combination of tangy, sweet, and savory. I also added a bowl of Baked Potato Soup. That could have been a meal in itself! I tried not to eat it all, but I just couldn't stop! The Honey Butter Croissant was the dessert of dinner! Nikki was my waitress and she was very attentive and offered great suggestions and recommendations. She was very knowledgeable about the menu items.
