This was my first time eating here. We were seated quickly and we didn't know what to expect. The waitress brought out plastic bibs, gloves and a bucket to throw our shells in. We decided on shrimp, green mussels which were really good, a crab cluster, sausage, potatoes and corn. The Top Crab sauce were good especially if you love garlic as much as I do. I wasn't a fan of the crab cluster because it was hardly any meat. Not really a corn person but I do believe it comes with all the bags. The place is big and it does get busy during dinner time. Y'alllllll!! I don't even normally leave reviews, but I seriously feel like somebody needs to look into the food safety and sanitation at this place. I ate here earlier today around 5:30 PM, and by 11 PM I was throwing up and feeling absolutely terrible. I can't say for certain what caused it, but I ordered the kids fried oysters basket. Considering how sick I became just a few hours after eating here, I'm definitely concerned about the food I was served. I really hope management takes food handling, storage, temperatures, cleanliness, and overall sanitation seriously and looks into this. Something is NOT right, and I would hate for someone else to have the same experience. read more

With that said the veggie boiled with the Top Crab seasoning was deeelious! We originally ordered the Tai Chili and Lemon Pepper Wings however the brought Top Crab seasoned wing instead of the lemon pepper. I'm from Boston visiting Georgia and drove 2.5 hours from Atlanta to visit this place. Similar crab place food. Atmosphere was chill and service was absolutely stellar with Kiki! Now the food; my fried shrimp in the salad was good but a bit salty, and the chowder was delicious. Chicken wings weren't crunchy but still delicious according my sister cousin. Now let's talk about the delicious blue crab that the flies loved so much, they were eating it at the same time as my other fam which ruined his experience. I'd probably return due to the service and accountability that Kiki took when the fly was discovered. She brought him a new crab meal and also comped it on the check. Thanks Kiki for your service. Hands down the best low country seafood boil I've ever had in my life. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection! I got "Combo A" (shrimp, sausage, and snow crab) that comes with corn, potatoes, and boiled eggs with the Top Crab mild seasoning. It was enough food for 2 meals. We also got calamari as an appetizer which was crispy and not rubbery at all. Our server, Kiki, was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was a little loud, but not unbearable. Now this was one of my favorite places to get good seafood and drinks. I have bragged on this place so much my sister drove two hours to enjoy it with me. This particular time not only was the food horrible but so was the service. I ordered 1 pound of headless shrimp 1/2 sausage 1/2 black mussels 2 eggs Mild top crab special Boy did I get a surprise, they gave me shrimp with the head on still. If you know you know how nasty it looked. The string in the bag with my other food ‍. I told my server what happen and requested to keep the bag on the table next to me, while they REMAKE my correct order. I know the price of seafood and didn't want them to just pick out the heads from my messed up bag and reserve it to me. She said she had to speak to her manager. Another girl came and told me she needed the food to take to the kitchen and again voiced my concern about bringing it to the kitchen before receiving my correct order. I was looking forward to eating here as this spot is very popular in the Augusta area. As busy as it was I was lucky enough to get a table right away. Thats where my luck ended. After being seated, the host wrote a name on the paper they place over the table. I assumed this was the name of our server. After 5, 10, 15 , 20 minutes, the server never showed up. Several servers walked by the table as they were attending to other patrons, and they even looked at the name on the.paper to see if the table was theirs, but no one ever acknowledged being our server. Located off the Augusta west parkway in the Augusta west Plaza Top Crab Seafood and Bar is a fantastic place to get your favorite seafood boil. Seafood boil is the generic term for any number of types of social events in which shellfish, whether saltwater or freshwater, is the central element. Regional variations dictate the kinds of seafood, the accompaniments and side dishes, and the preparation techniques (boiling, steaming, baking, or raw).  We have ordered from here several times the most recent visit unfortunately was during the COVID-19 restrictions so we obviously did takeout. The food was still piping hot when we got home and just as good. I got the shrimp and sausage with the corn and potatoes and I loved everything! It was double bagged in the spicy boil liquid and pretty decent quality and quantity. I will definitely keep coming back as long as we live here. So, check out the Top Crab Seafood and Bar. New to the area, thought I would try the seafood place for the first time. They were out of their happy hour beer on tap, so I decided that I would get a bottle instead. The waitress informed me that the bartender did not stocked the night before, and they were completely out of the things that I had requested to drink. It seem like it took a very long time to get our low country boil. Upon receiving it, I noticed that my shrimp was extremely hard to get out of the shell. I did not know why it was so hard to pell. I had originally tried a different better, which I was very happy with. I had read some of the reviews from this place, and I thought I would try it. Love these type of places that do boil in bag seafood feasts. I got the fried oysters which by themselves are plain but I dip them in the juice from the seafood boil and it is just delicious! I got the "combo A" which gives a nice portion of snow crab legs, shrimp and clams with whole potatoes and corn. I always mix all of the seasonings together and every time it is great. I am a fan of crab boils generally. I understand the busy nature of these places is good for big parties. It's not a very quiet location, but I expected that based on the hype, it would be really good. First, I came on a random Thursday night, but it happened to be really busy, so we waited ~ 30-40 minutes to get seated. I believe it was 7:30 and I had arrived at 6:50 ish. Again, I guess it was really busy, but when we got seated, the waitress ignored us for some time and didn't get us water right away. We got the mix of lemon pepper, cajun, and garlic (what I call the trifecta, but what they call Top Crab seasoning) with shrimp, clams, and snow crab. I felt that their sauce was heavy on the cajun and light on the lemon. It also was very, very salty. I could tell that the seafood had been previously frozen, which I understand in America shrimp is all frozen beforehand in large quantities, but the shrimp was not particularly fresh and had a mildly fishy flavor. The clams were definitely not fresh, in the way that they shrink and held less flavor than fresh clams. I would gather they were very overcooked as well. I was glad there was an abundant amount of potatoes and corn to soften my disappointment with the seafood. May I'll have to try again on a less busy day to have better luck, but for now, I am skeptical. read more
