These guys are awesome! We had them do epoxy over the old and faded concrete floor at our car audio business in San Jose. There were so many dents in the floor that I was sure it would never be smooth again--epoxy or no epoxy. Well, I guess I was proven wrong because these guys took their time to grind the floor, patch it, and then grind it again to make sure it was buttery smooth! They recommended sand for traction before putting the colored epoxy coating and that was a spot-on recommendation also (we don't want our customers slipping!). They offered a great color selection palette and recommended dark grey which I ended up liking as well. You can barely see the sand when the top color epoxy coat is applied so that was a plus. Before I hired them I got a quote from another company that was going to charge more and use an inferior method (acid etch instead of straight up grinding). Garrett and his crew were exceptional from start to finish. We had ~400 sq ft in our basement repaired, stained, and then covered with a matte finish epoxy. The basement looks so much cleaner and cozier with its beautiful new floor. CEF showed up on time every day with wonderful communication by Garrett and Alex. We always knew what to expect and how long each would take to complete. They came back the morning after the last day to check their work, and decided it needed another sand and coating to be truly perfect (and maybe my husband accidentally walked on it a bit too early, but no judgment from CEF). Hiring a contractor is always a bit of a crapshoot...often they won't show up on time, the job ends up taking longer than expected, costing more, and still isn't done right. Also, as a chick (who doesn't know anything about flooring or construction...shocking) I find a lot of them treat me like an idiot, talk down to me, or try to rip me off. Thankfully, there was none of that with California Epoxy Flooring. Not only did they show up on time, finish the job on schedule and at the price quoted, they left my place spotless...I really couldn't have asked for a better experience and result. We hired California Epoxy to surface the kitchen and dishwashing area of our restaurant. They came highly recommended to us by our general contractor. Garret has been doing this for years and really knows what he was doing. He took a practical approach to the job, making good design suggestions while not sacrificing asthetics either. He also accommodated our schedule, working on nights over the weekend to make sure we suffered as little disruption to our business as possible, which was important. They finished the job on time and we were back on our way. If you're hiring them for any sort of commercial project, particularly one where liquids are involved, I would definitely recommend getting the sand coating. It adds another step to the process, but the added traction it provides really helps keep accidents (and lawsuits) down. read more

After repeated attempts to contact the company to get an estimate for a commercial project over the course of several weeks. I gave up. As a licensed Building Contractor, I can understand at times being overwhelmed with bid request and dealing with daily issues on-site. But no front office, no return calls. You wonder how much work is he missing out on. Do they care. Makes you wonder, if I contracted with this company, what kink of problems would I have when daily problems most be address and there is no way to reach anyone except a cell number with a mail box full and you can not leave a message. Hired them to resurface the floor of my warehouse. Pros: Rates were very competitive, much lower than the other quotes I got. This was a big project (6,000 sq. ft.) and they were able to handle it no problem. Quality of floor is also outstanding. Cons: None really. Only thing I can think is that they were not able to start my job until a couple of weeks after I got my quote due to having to finish some other pre-existing projects. I wanted my floor done in the middle of summer, though, which is their busy season I'm told, so YMMV. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a floor of this type. read more

Found CA Epoxy on Yelp to replace our decades-old garage floor and can't say enough about them. They pulled up the ugly old tiles, patched cracks in the slab, smoothed out the surface and installed a beautiful new epoxy floor. Garret really knows his stuff- his recommendations re: color, texture and working around our existing fixtures were spot-on. The CEF crew is FANTASTIC! My wife and I hired them to redo our garage floor and am very pleased with the results. Our floor was admittedly in rough shape when they started, with numerous cracks and holes so I wasn't sure it would work. CEF was able to patch and grind everything back to a smooth finish before they laid down the epoxy, however, so the end result was a flat, uniform surface that looks beautiful. And what's most important, they actually finished the job on time and for what they said it would cost, which is rare for a contractor! I am a real estate agent by trade and can speak from experience that epoxy floors are an investment that adds value to a house, particularly in a climate like Southern California's where people are outside more than average.
