    Graduation

California Healing Arts College was the best experience! They taught me so much! I really recommend the vet assistant program to people who would love to work with animals!

Professional toilet scrubber.  Would you pay thousands of dollars to get this job?

There is no return of investment in this for-profit institution. I graduated three years ago from the massage therapy program. 65% was online during the pandemic and the hands-on training was a rushed crash course. I have no job in this industry. I scrub toilets for a living and I live paycheck to paycheck. I have nothing to show for except debt, discrimination and unemployability. I have collected 122 rejections from the MT field in three years. This makes 48% of the total rejections of jobs that I have applied to. Without an apprenticeship you cannot get hired; employers want experience. I demanded a refund of my wasted savings which they reluctantly granted. Without a Department of Education, I am still in debt. It infuriates me that I fell for the for-profit scam twice in my lifetime! Go to a real college and get a real degree.

I'm on my last days of externship for the VA program and I can not be more grateful for the staff that helped me push through the courses. Truthfully some of my best memories were at this school. Ms.Ghianni and Ms.Kessler work hard to provide the best education and resources for us. Not only were they very caring but also very supportive and understanding. I've met some of my bestest friends through this program. I've found my true passion in life because I joined this school. Every class was a class worth going, lessons were made to help us learn and have fun all in one. Being able to take live pets was amazing and seeing how everyone improved their skills throughout each class was well worth it.

They still needed assistance. This created a minimum of 20 minutes of the teacher trying to assist all these students who were lost. I felt like she relied on other students to help those students who needed help which isn't fair. They should have a prerequisite to this class MUST know basic microsoft, how to use a mouse, how to save/ download documents into a folder, etc. I decided to stop going to the class since the teacher had to focus on these others students and then when everyone was finally on the same page. She would literally rush through the chapter since of course our class was behind. I'm giving it 3 stars since this isn't the teacher's fault or the students. The school needs to do a better job in making some of these courses to having a prerequisite pertaining to that course.

There are only so many youtube videos a person can watch but the best way to learn is to have a professional demo the polisher/buffer in front of you, have the students use the polisher/buffer on a hood, and have the instructors critique your work. The course started out with an introduction of all students and Greg Masterson, who is the Director of Training. Greg starts out with a lecture on paints and clear coat, the purpose of polishing, the difference between a polisher and a buffer, pads and chemical polishes/compounds, and finally a Q&A. After break, Greg and Kris setup hoods in the training area for students to use polishers and buffers on. Greg will demo us how to properly install the pad, how much polish to put on, priming the pad, how to spread the polish on the hood, and how to make a "pass" on a section of the hood. Greg also demonstrated how to use a buffer and the students also got some good time in how to use one. In conclusion, Smart Detailing University provided me outstanding information in how to properly use a polisher and buffer. In the past, my technique with a polisher was moving the polisher too fast and using too much polish. Now I know the right technique and that the an important skill in polishing is patience! I highly recommend Greg and Smart Detailing University for those that want to learn how to use polisher and/or a buffer.
