This outfit does not know the meaning of customer service. Once they sold me the high-end iPhone programmable hearing aids, they are not so responsive. I bought the most expensive set at a cost of $8,000. Both have broken. One was replaced and the other broke after the warranty period. That was repaired at a cost about $300 but now has gone wrong again, reduced volume. Each aid now has different software, speaking into my ear two different instructions so it's hard to know how each is programmed! The hearing aid center didn't think this was a big deal but it is. I don't know how each aid is programmed from my iPhone because they talk to me at the same time, one says numbers the other reads words??? Guess what, the repair warranty expired as well. I called before Christmas to get it repaired and they couldn't see me until well into January. I've decided to find another provider that can service me. I called Starkey directly and they provided me with another outlet. Service the same day I called. Don't use California Hearing Aid Center in Campbell and I am concerned about the reliability of the high-end Starkey product also. read more

Started with the Sacramento office and moved to Campbell. Both locations are friendly and helpful. I had a little trouble with their phone services recently but they got me in quickly, got a new device, and set it up without issue. read more

It would be helpful if CA Hearing Aid Center would contact me to inform me when to expect my new hearing aid. I can't tell you what a God-send Keith Rios and these fantastic hearing aids have been. Any issues or problems they have had over the 6+ years they've worn the NuEar aids, they've been able to easily make an appointment and Keith has been able to take care of most issues right there in the office. I can't tell you how vastly they have improved both my husband and mother's quality of life and how much it has saved my sanity! Service was just awful. I took my elderly 97 year old aunt in, who lives in a nursing facility. We needed rechargeable hearing aids for her, because the staff where she lives, kept forgetting to change her batteries. Michael Murphy, the audiologist, was kind enough, but his support staff is a nightmare. First, they said her insurance would not cover anything, but they did contribute 1500.00 towards the cost. (that took weeks to confirm.) Then he placed the order, and after waiting 3 months for them, the wrong ones were ordered!! Waited another 2 months going back and forth and would get no where. His office gal "Brooke", was supposed to be the one ordering them, submitting the info into the portal, etc... All I got was the runaround. Mike Murphy kept blaming her, and she would never give us answers. Finally her insurance said I could pick a new Hearing Aid office. I went to Gospel Hearing Aids. I can't say enough about how wonderful Aaron the owner was, how incredibly thoughtful and gentle he was with my aunt and how quickly he was able to order them and receive them! Within 4 weeks we had brand new hearing aids, molded to her ear. Her quality of life has been restored. Don't waste your time here. I am upset at myself for hanging in there so long. read more

I had my hearing aids checked at Campbell office this week. Received a convenient appointment quickly. My appointment was with Michael Murphy. It was a great experience. Michael checked my hearing aid and cleaned it quickly and gave me a new hearing test. He adjusted my hearing aids . I am so pleased. read more

I would imagine that Hearing Aid Centers predominantly cater to the elderly and that is perhaps why this business wasn't even located on Yelp. Some elderly and retired people are not as yelp-savvy as the younger population. But we have parents and I am writing to those of you who are caring for an elderly parent or helping them out with health appointments. I brought my mother to California Hearing Aid Center after she handed me a promotional piece that was left at her retirement community. They were having an open house and she asked me to take her because she needed new hearing aids. The first thing I asked about when we arrived was their return policy. They assured me that if she didn't like them she could bring them back, no problem. The entire experience has become a disaster with the upshot being that despite physically returning hearing aids within the 30 day requested timeline, they have refused to refund my mother's money - close to $6,000! I know you're thinking if you return something how can they not refund your money? Well, that's what I thought and that's what I was told. But they are stating, incorrectly, that we didn't give them a chance to try to correct the problem. We certainly did. I could go on about the fact that in trying to resolve this I called the main office in Sacramento only to leave 10 messages for the owner who never returned a single call. Or the fact that the office is closed more days than its open, making getting assistance pretty darn difficult. But suffice to say, stay away from this business. They have no qualms about taking your money. Elderly deserved to be treated kindly and with respect. My mother received no such treatment from this organization. V.M. read more

Fairly frequently advertises in the Newspaper to get customers. Happened to me. Got competent assistance and new hearing aids. I had hoped that I just needed somebody to assist me with a hearing problem and they had an unusual situation in the office. HOWEVER THAT IS ***ALWAYS*** and if somebody is in the office to help you it's UNUSUAL!!! It is sad that they have at that time they have the large ads in the paper competent and caring audiologists there. I felt they did a good job of configuring my new hearing aids. Little did I know that most often the office is empty and one has to wait for an itinerant audiologist. Since then it's usually hit and miss whether there will be anybody there when I have a hearing problem or require assistance with my hearing aids. They have a central phone answering somewhere to the north. It may be 3 weeks before anybody is at their Campbell location. They even suggest MAILING the hearing aid(s?) to them if there's a problem! Go with somebody who has local and competent daily service so there's somebody there if you need help... When you pay thousands of dollar for hearing aids, no matter how good which mine seemed to be, you deserve a local and competent person when you need assistance. You will NOT get that from their Campbell office. As I write this it will be over 2 weeks before I get attended by an audiologist and have to put up with a malfunctioning hearing aid in one ear. read more

This company is not out for the people. They don't check to see if insurance covers any portion of hearing aids and due to that I almost lost a $2,100.00 payment from my insurance company. I changed hearing aid companies and found out about my coverage by accident but in the process I lost a $100.00 deposit because I canceled after the five day grace period. Companies that are in the Healthcare Industry should be processing claims through the health insurance companies like any other healthcare provider. It took several months to receive the payment from the insurance company and they have you jumping through hoops therefore delaying payment but it is a healthcare providers responsibility to process the claim. BEWARE OF COMPANIES THAT SHOULD BE PROCESSING THROUGH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR MONEY DOWN. I would never think of making a purchase through CALIFORNIA HEARING AID CENTERS again and NEITHER SHOULD ANYONE ELSE. They are not in the best interest of the people and I wonder how many seniors and others have been cheated out of a claim payment because they didn't want to wait for the insurance companies to process the claims. The Better Business Bureau wasn't much help in getting a refund of my deposit so I'm at a standstill but will let people know that they are a bad company to work with. Pat Green I am a senior citizen and I am unhappy and unhappy with California Hearing Aid Center. It was my understanding that I had 45 days to try out the hearing aids. I received hearing aids from Sarah Rhee and return the hearing aids back to her within 45 days. Sarah Rhee refused to give me a receipt for the hearing aids. I feel like I was arrest by Sarah Rhee and Keith Rios every time I would try to turn in the hearing aids they would try to adjust them which I need to wear them and I need to work with them which I feel like I did didn't work for my hearing or my tendinitis and then they would put them on my ears and say that I would have to try them out which I already had. California Hearing Aid Center is claiming that I didn't turn into hearing aids and I am now in disputing with my Healthy Plan credit card. I received excellent selection-guidance and support for my Completely-In-Canal pair (SDS Premier) plus Bluetooth streaming device (great for hands-free call acceptance). Finally I can understand speech in movies, noisy restaurants, parties, cars. Binaural processing suppresses noise on one side while enhancing speech on the other side. Productive meetings with owner Keith Rios and other competent staff made a very positive impression. 3/19/2014 Edit " I just went with my 96 year old mother-in-law to see the audiologist, Keith Rios, at the California Hearing Aid Center. My mother-in-law had bought hearing aids 4years ago in Walnut Creek and since moved to the South Bay. Her hearing aids were Nuear and only a few audiologists in the area carry this brand. She has been complaining about her hearing for a while so we went to check out her hearing and her hearing aids. Keith was fantastic, not only in explaining some of the hearing loss problems my mother-in-law faced, but doing a base line test, and then reprogramming her hearing aids, all for free. We will go back in two months, as the plan is to gradually increase the strength of her hearing aids. I would highly recommend Keith for his patience and ability to deal with the problems at hand. read more

I took my elderly father here and I am very pleased with the outcome. The first visit was with Roy Templet. He was more then thorough explaining everything from what each test meant to the cost and warranties etc and made sure my dad understood fully. My dad purchased a set and two weeks later he was fitted by Kieth Rios. Kieth was patient in setting them up to my dads needs and made sure my dad was comfortable putting the hearing aids in correctly and made sure he knew all the functions and how to change the batteries and care for his new hearing aids. Very pleased with the service. They even called the following day to see how he was doing with them. I used a hearing aid for a 30 day trial and returned it in time to Campbell for a refund in April. They sent it to headquaters in Sacramento and then to the manufacturer. CHAC ignored my phone calls repeatedly. The manufacture issued a refund in May to CHAC but no refund was issued to me yet. They have stalled and have I filed a complaint with the BBB. Wish me better results with some professional help. I recommend to avoid this dealer since they were more interested in my money than my hearing. read more

We sent a hearing aid in that was just 6 months out of warranty. They charged 350 dollars for the repair. The repair came with a year warranty which will now expire. These were originally 2500 dollars apiece. CHAC is now offering another year warranty for another 200 dollars. Gotta love businesses that "rob" old, hearing impaired, people. read more

I managed to take my 91 year old Father in for Hearing Aid Testing and purchase because of an advertisement in the newspaper offering a 30 day trial. My Father has been very difficult over the years regarding hearing aids , but definitely needed them! Keith Rios was extremely professional and patient while testing my Dad. His explanations were complete and he even offered that my Dad could return the hearing aids if they didn't prove to help him or if they frustrated him too much after a couple of months trial, and reduced the cost significantly. Dad actually agreed to try them! This office was also patient with my Dad's schedule and waited until he had completed cataract surgery before he came back in for the fitting almost two months later. Keith continued his patience and explanations during the fitting appointment. My Dad wore the hearing aids LONGER than Mr. Rios had suggested for the first couple of weeks, but was pleased that he could figure out how to put them on, keep them on and store them when needed. They helped immediately! He now hears conversation with our backs turned to him and at greater distances. His only difficulty is the tiny batteries that need to be changed weekly, but we are working on how to manage that either with our assistance or someone from his assisted living facility.
