These people are the exclusive specialists you should see if you have concerns with tinnitus of any kind. They will pull all of the important hearing tests and properly educate you about tinnitus so you won't believe stuff you see online. I now carry around ear plugs attached to my keys everywhere I go. I may not be able to control random loud sounds outside but I can control how I react. By putting on ear plugs the instant I know loud noises are coming, and living cautiously by not going to places where I know the noise/music is loud.

Every interaction, from scheduling an appointment, to experiencing your first consultation, to the customised and meticulous nature of the solutions to your hearing needs, is handled with such care, empathy, and authenticity. Dr. Patty is EXTREMELY knowledgable and has the rare ability to connect with her patients on a human level; leading to you walking out of every meeting with a profound understanding of the complexities of your ear and brain's anatomy as well as peace of mind knowing your needs are being met at the highest possible standard. In my case, I went in searching for custom hearing plugs as I experience some very loud environments with my job and in my day-to-day life. Dr. Patty sat down with me and walked me through every step: educating me on how the inner workings of the ear, the methodology she has honed to create the custom mould, and how to find the ideal reduction in decibels that would best suit my needs. You are also given the option of picking from a variety of colours! Dr. Patty then brings you back in for a fitting and followup to ensure the plugs are the perfect size and achieve your protection needs with a comprehensive audio test (If you're lucky she will also bless you with a plethora of fun animal facts!) I am blown away by the level of care I was provided with. To Jalisa, Melissa, and Dr. Patty, thank you SO much for being such amazing people and for all of your time and help. To anyone looking for treatment for their ears (or preventative measures to protect your hearing long term like me) look no further.

I allotted an hour and a half for what would be a 25 minutes drive at 4am just in case I had trouble finding the location, but the solid gridlock on 101 at 2:00pm and the tricky signage for the connections between Highway 87 and 101 left me SOL, (sadly out of luck). Also note, Yelp's four-star rating looks to be overly generous, especially if you scan through the number of negative. reviews. I agree with others, the office staff is short on caring, and I discovered why they insist on having your credit card number up front. Instead of offering a heads up about the navigational problem, orgiving you a detailed set of directions for people coming from a northwesterly or northerly direction, they can claim a hundred points to the patient's zero, for they're going to collect $100 from your plastic if you're sandwiched between semis and can't make your appointment. All I needed was someone to do a thorough job of cleaning the wax from my ears. Now my. 80 year old wife is going to have to do it-- before Costco will examine my ears and adjust my hearing aids! Didn't get a call until the next day and we agreed on a day 2 weeks out. Then I get a call today saying the business name has changed to San Francisco something and we had 2 no shows so they sent the hearing aids back and they no longer accept her insurance anymore. Ummm....what?? 1st off I called to reschedule... He argued that I didn't call... Really genius?? Then how did I get the other appointment?? And said if I called on Monday there was none there to answer the call, just the doctor. It's not my fault he wasn't there to do his job and it shouldn't have counted as a no show if I informed them earlier. Then says we no showed 3 days ago when I had it down for next week and didn't get any reminders. But the part that really gets me pissed is the fact he said they sent them back. I'm like, already? After 3 days? He said, in a rude manner, I don't know when they sent them but they did and now you have to go somewhere else. I have worked in the medical field at private practices for many years and this is not how you do business. And I can tell the front office help is lazy because many times I have left messages and have not received calls back. Save yourself the trouble and go else where! If I could I would give 0 stars!

The very first impression she gave was indifference followed by a hacking cough she tried to suppress (not wearing a mask). She walked in from the back room (of an already small office lobby) briefly looked at me, then gave me papers to fill out and started to turn. I asked if the pens were clean since there were no labeled pens and only 2 or 3 in the pen hold can. She said yeah as she was turning away. I forgot my mask and went back out to the car to get it, since they didn't have any available (not sure if a hearing test facility qualifies as a medical facility under the Santa Clara County Health dept.). After coming back in and turning in the form she again only looked at me when getting the forms once, and not again until my misunderstanding of what she said. Ironically I am at a hearing test place and heard her say is that 'butt' for your email; not the best handwriting. Corrected her, but was already agitated by the lack of a welcome and the feeling of indifference (with an extra dose of coughing), and then said why would you say that? Say "butt"? I wait a few seconds and she doesn't say anything. I eventually just go to the restroom. When I get out she said only said "bud". Then says it again, while at least looking at me this time, but now looking a little annoyed. Goes back to looking over the form and without looking at me, asks for my insurance card. I followed my instinct and said I am canceling my appointment. "Ok", looking at me with indifference again. I had to ask for my paperwork so it wouldn't be billed accidently. Once I got it, I started to leave, and mentioned she was coughing/sick. She sarcastically said 'bye'. I came back in and addressed her attitude and about being sick. I am guessing they have so much business it doesn't matter how she treats people, because she just turned and walked away... I left, because I didn't feel at that point I could trust them to do the testing correctly, and really didn't want to find out one way or the other...maybe you will get a different experience if you decide to go there...

My current aids were not really doing the job, even though they are less than a year old. I just wasn't happy with them. So, I went to see Dr. Miles. He provided me with a new pair of Oticons. They are FABULOUS! I don't understand the technology, but apparently it monitors all the sounds at about 100 times a second. Here's what it says on its website: "Powered by the Velox™ platform, the newest BrainHearing™ solution from Oticon employs an "open sound" approach to manage multiple speech and noise sources, even in complex listening situations. The company says the new OpenSound Navigator™ scans the environment 100 times per second to analyze and balance every sound individually. Environmental sounds are said to be accessible, but not disturbing. With this open sound experience, Oticon reports that it makes traditional directionality, designed to focus on the main sound in front and suppress background sounds, a thing of the past. Users can now focus on a conversation while staying attentive to people and things around them, and switch focus quickly and easily." Now again, I don't understand it all exactly, but the aids have been really working well. Oticon also has an app for the phone that makes it easy and unobtrusive to control the volume. You don't have to pick the ambient noise quality (e.g., car, restaurant, etc.) because it is doing that all automatically. At least that's what I think its doing. Great hearing aids! My doctor told me about making an acrylic mold for my hearing soda so they'd be less uncomfortable or ticklish in my ears. They made another appointment for me to come back and to bring my hearing aids so I did today and I came early but when I asked them where my hearing aids the girl named Abby or something told me it was being cleaned and the wire on my hearing aids were replaced and so I asked to see my hearing aids and I wanted to speak with the doctor who saw me a couple days ago. But instead of letting me talk to her, they lied that the lady who came after me was here first or her appointment was first and it wasn't first come first serve. So they gave my hearing aids back but it looked different than before so I told them about that. Then lied to me once again and said okay nothing was done to my hearing aids. Then another lady who also worked at the reception desk but more to the left approached and fake apologized on behalf of the office and she was basically trying to get me to shut up and go. She suddenly said she had to contact insurance because the mold the doctor offered to get me suddenly needed to be approved by insurance, another lie. So they made me come all the way here even though my house is far away and I was stuck in traffic and I got here and they all started to lie and give me reasons and tried to blame me for their own miscommunication.
