I highly recommend California RV Specialists! We brought our 2021 Grand Design Solitude 310GK for a repair after I scraped the tree on a cross country trip. The service team was great to work with. Needed our 2019 Rpod trailer to have its yearly maintenance and fix some annoying problems, the sewer pipe and flashing were falling apart. We called and made the reservation. I will be honest, they are in demand and booked, the next appointment was about 6 weeks out. No problem, they are worth the wait! I showed up the morning of our appointment, met a Mr. Zach Mortenson. He did a walk through, wrote up & took me through the estimate. I was surprised the cost to fix all the problems including the service & labor was only $2k. Best part, the trailer was ready 3 days later, they came under estimate plus they did extra work! The technicians discovered problems with the tank sensor wire and fixed it. I've not had my Toyhauler into California RV Specialists physical location, but I follow them on FB and have asked a few questions. Dustin has responded, prettty much immediately with very helpful advice, all for free, whereas other shops I've contacted, they want me to schedule an appointment, generally, several weeks out, so they can diagnose it. I appreciate Dustin taking the time to answer questions and not try to "sell" me a diagnosis. I also appreciate the helpful tips and suggestions he provides on a nearly daily basis. Another great experience here. Needed our skylight above our shower replaced, as well as a nylon block for my capture plate on my pull rite hitch. It was done in a timely manner. When I picked my 5th wheel up I was having problems hitching up. 2 techs came out, no questions asked and helped me figure some things out as well as give me some tips to make things easier when hitching up. Brought my fifth wheel Rv in for insurance repair. We waited eight months before it was repaired due to their lack of follow up with the insurance company. They threatened me constantly with $100 dollars a day storage fee unless I paid them money out-of-pocket to start the repairs they charged me $12 dollars for a returned Check from the insurance company that they canceled. they refused to return replaced parts and when questioned about charges on-the bill they become rude and hostile read more

We took our 2020 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel to California RV Specialists to have the slide out looked at because I though it looked like it was sagging when it was fully extended. Turns out it was actually fine with maybe a slight adjustment to be made. While it was in there, they did a complimentary inspection of the roof, frame and exterior body and found a few things that needed attention. On one slide-out, the Eternabond tape had become loose and there was a small hole starting in the membrane and roof sheething. They also found the top seal had deteriorated and made me aware of these issues. They documented all of these findings with photos and Dustin (the owner) even featured it on a YouTube video https://youtu.be/FXLPClTYGOU?si=sXcHHMQzn27TTJa_ to alert other RV owners what to look for when self inspecting their rigs. I authorized them to go ahead and repair what needed to be repaired. They also noted the vinyl trim insert molding above that slide was missing which I knew about but just had not gotten around to replacing so, I authorized them to replace that as well. Once they removed the trim insert molding they found where Keystone had missed installing several screws (no surprise) into the molding and went ahead and installed those missing screws. They also sealed up around all windows, storage compartments and entry door. Dustin and his team are top notch professionals who seem to care for your rig just as though it was their own. I have referred friends to California RV Specialists for work they need on their RV's and will continue to do so. read more

2008 25' sunseeker with a 10' slide. My Lippert Slide out did not work. They had the vehicle for almost seven weeks. I made a call to Lippert to have them removed from their recommended service provider. Miraculasly it was fixed the next day. The slide broke again six months later they put me on a four month waiting list to bring it back in. As of this writing 7/15/22, I am going to try and have them removed from recommended providers. They have a ridiculous phone system with people that are not knowegable about the industry. I do not think they are qualified for real repairs. I do not recommend them. --Dr. Robert M read more

Dustin, his wife and his team were fantastic. We had an ongoing issue with our RV where it sat at the dealer for many, many, many months to the point it was ridiculous. The manufacturer authorized me to go to Dustin and have him inspect it. He got back to me with the results the very same day, which were bad news. Based on his report, the manufacturer was finally able to start the process towards resolving the matter and did so expeditiously. Without Dustin's help we would have been stuck in limbo forever. Another fantastic experience with this business! We had some warranty work and suspension upgrades for our new 2021 Grand Design travel trailer. They worked fast to ensure everything was installed correctly. We upgraded our leaf springs and had them install a Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit. LOVE the way the trailer feels when towing. We also had them inspect or trailer to see if they could find any hidden issues that would need repairing before our Summer camping season. Fortunately, due to the quality of GD trailer, they only found two items that needed replacement! While inspecting, they tightened screws and added staples where needed (something I didn't expect them to do!). I own a 2022 London Aire 45 ft RV - I traveled from Scottsdale , AZ - I am at a RV park in Lodi CA - My HWH jacks - hydrologic system was leaking fluid all over the front of the RV site - I called Newmar and they recommended Cal RV specialist for HWH. I drove this morning to CA RV Specialist with photos and issues - they said they are busy and are 3 weeks out with HWH - seemed strange because the place seemed empty - except for about 4 people at the counter in the lobby. They did not check to see if they can fit me in for cancellation or anything - they did not want to do the repair period - did not make sense to me. There was sign on the door that said closed 12pm to 1 PM for lunch - that is usually a red flag for me - a place like that - cannot pay someone to answer phones for an hr - have enough people - I guess they like to socialize and go to lunch together - they were rude and made no effort what so ever I do not think they are fully staffed - not sure - only explanations I l can think of. I will advise both Newmar and HWH accordingly read more

I received a notice from my RV manufacturer that I had an outstanding recall that needed to be rectified. I reached out to the team at California RV Specialists because I have had nothing but poor service experiences when I have dealt with the Sacramento-based Grand Design dealership. When I called to schedule, they were booked about 6 weeks out but this is because they are extremely busy, for a good reason. California RV Specialists are a brand agnostic service center - they do not sell RVs, they only provide service to, and repair most makes and models of RVs. Upon arrival, I was their first appt of the day, and was greeted warmly and quickly checked in. The service team immediately started on my Toyhauler, knowing I was a "waiter", or someone who was not dropping it off. A member of the service team came inside the showroom shortly thereafter and mentioned that an aftermarket item I added (Sumo Springs) to the suspension was making the recall extremely difficult but they were trying everything in their power to make sure they could prevent me having to reschedule (the manufacturer will only approve a very specific number of minutes for the recall labor). I offered to come out of pocket for any additional time needed but the technician mentioned he wasn't sure if they had the time lock available to remove the Sumo Springs and reinstall. He made another attempt, and was successful - completing the recall, within the available window of time. Kudos to the California RV Specialists team, from the owners, to the front end staff to the techs who went above and beyond to help make my first experience with them a positive and lasting one. read more

I love older RVs. I love to work on them. I love to bring them back to the grand state they had once been when rolling off the showroom floor. Five years ago, I bought an older and larger 5th wheel. This was to be my last towable. And, for the past five years I diligently worked on this RV to bring it back to the showroom floor grandeur it had been once! I did not do this alone but had friends and other service providers help. Some of the service providers were not the best, and the work did not pass muster. I cannot express my frustration when receiving my RV back from the shop only to discover the work done was marginal at best and completely below what I was told I could expect. Or I was charged minimum "shop hours" for the shop to look at a problem or provide a quote for the work they got paid to performed. My disappointment was always shared with management and any other RV'er who'd listen! We have all been through this scenario and, as such, I have become very jaded when it comes to finding RV Shops that I want working on my trailer. I did not think they existed until I went to the California RV Specialists in Lodi. What a change!!! Dustin and Ashley Simpson are the owners. They are amazing people and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to RV repair. A testament to Dustin and Ashley is the love their employees have for them and the industry. Many of their employees have been with them for years and really enjoy their jobs! From the first time I walked into the business until I left with my repaired RV, I felt they and their staff were interested in ME and MY DESIRES! They conducted a full assessment of my RV and noticed issues that I had and was going to fix, someday. They also found small problems that could have led to huge repairs if not addressed sooner than later. Their prices were fair, they monitored the work being performed to ensure efficiency of time and that I was not being charged a shop hour that was not needed, they kept me informed on the progress of the work, and they came in under the quoted price for the repairs. Who does this??? Their employees are professional, knowledgeable, cautious when working on the RV, the work is meticulously done, documentation is amazing which eliminates any questions that could arise as to what work had been performed, and the quotes are spot on. There were no surprises, and the work was completed on time! They are my new GO-TO RV Shop and I encourage you to make them yours. Word of warning though, they are busy all of the time. So, make your appointments sooner than later; and listen to them when they suggest a repair. I do not think you will be disappointed! read more

These guys are expensive but get the job done. I had them help me a couple times with my Casita and they were awesome. Once it was an unfortunate experience in which Casita sent me the wrong size window replacement and by the time we opened the packaged replacement window the company had sent to me, the CA RV workers had already bashed out the old window of my trailer. Then I called the company and they told me, sorry, they can't send me the "right size"--don't make the size anymore that I need. I about sh&t my pants. The guys at CA RV helped be figure out a temp solution in which I drove to Home Depot and purchased some Plexiglas cut to size and they installed that. It ended up lasting me five more years until I sold my trailer!! read more
