In-house made corn tortilla fish tacos with fresh shredded cabbage and pickled onion from the salsa bar
Tanya R.

Kind service, delicious food! I ordered fish tacos and they came with a side of beans (whole or refried) topped with cojita cheese, and rice. The corn tortillas are made in-house and they are absolutely phenomenal. They also have a bigass salsa bar with pickled onion, fresh cucumber, shredded cabbage, radish, red onion, cilantro, buncha salsas, and whole beans. Their restroom in the back is also clean. I don't live in the area, came here to eat dinner w my sister and her kids before we made our way to Gleanings. When I come back to volunteer in the future, I'm bringing my fiancé here. Bomb tacos.

Dry chicken tacos, food needs a lot of work. The waitress was the only thing good about it.

Good food, not big on rice but I think I could eat the whole pot, their rice is so good. Shrimp and fish taco are great!

I love Mexican food and I'm 1/4 Mexican. This place has been around since 1976 so if I'm a bit…read moreharsh it's because they should know better. I checked Yelp but I neglected to sort by date. Some of the best reviews were many years ago. I ordered the chile verde burrito, wet, and my girlfriend ordered the fish taco Friday special. Chile verde has different sized pork chunks in a delicious green sauce but the meat was inconsistent in size with most pieces being rock hard, or fat/gristle. No pieces were tender. Chile verde should be tender. I can make better Chile verde in an Instant Pot with pork shoulder and a jar of Herdez green salsa. I trim my meat well though. No surprises. The fish tacos were attractive. They resembled fish sticks though. They had a bread crumb coating, were cooked earlier, and reheated before putting in the taco shell. Not beer batter fried aka Baja style. The taco shells were soft yellow corn tortillas with the texture of flour tortillas. These tortillas were really good! Avocado and fresh cilantro was a nice touch. No special fish taco sauce was used, but might improve the fish sticks. Rice was a solid hit for both of us. We make it like this at home with shrimp/tomato bouillon. The beans were ok. I ended up "returning" the inedible chile verde and they dutifully replaced it with a different burrito. The service was 5/5. The place itself is clean and neat and spacious. No complaints there.

Definitely worth checking out. ------- My family and I decided to come here even though the reviews were on the lower side. After reading some of the reviews, it seems like the reviews are skewed by the people who were very upset with their experience. When we arrived, it looked like they were having a karaoke or music night, which made the place feel lively and full of energy. It was a bit noisy, but it added to the fun atmosphere. We sat near the entrance so we could still talk comfortably without the music being too loud. The staff was really kind and helpful, and most of them primarily spoke Spanish, which made the experience feel even more authentic. The restaurant itself isn't fancy or high class, but it has a warm, casual vibe that makes you feel welcome. At first, the prices seemed a bit steep, but once the food arrived, it was easy to see why. The portions were huge, and everything tasted great. I'm not sure what they do to their rice and beans, but they were some of the best I've ever had. The carne asada had a nice char and was full of flavor. Overall, this place really surprised me. It's not upscale dining, but it's the kind of spot that leaves you full, happy, and planning your next visit. I'd definitely come back to try another dish.

We have eaten there the mariachi music is a nice touch but in that confined area it way to loud. We…read morecouldn't even talk at our table!
