Ordered a California Burrito (with fries inside - that's what defines a California burrito). When they brought out the order, the apologized that they were out of fries, so I didn't get a California burrito. They offered a side of rice as apology (we already ordered chips and guacamole). The food is good but the service is terrible. The last 2 times I've been there I ended up waiting a ridiculous amount of time. That was not issue. The issue is, they mixed up orders on both visits. My order "got lost" and people after me got their orders before me. On this recent visit, I had to go up to the counter and inquire on my order. Only to find out they mixed it up again. You would think that since I already waited an excessive amount of time, my order would be pushed to the front... NOPE! I ended up waiting again until everyone else "before" me got their order. Did a lil Hawgin n Dawgin yesterday, just under 200 miles each way to go check this lil Jernt out.... Worth it. Upon arrival we were greeted by nothing but smiles and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Let's just say... they loved the fuggin bikes..... The cashier asked if we've ever been there before and gave us a little run down of their most popular items.... When we let her know we just hawged out from 3 hours away specifically for their Birria Pizza, she couldn't believe it and had to know how we heard about the place as it's her family's place...But we just have big back homies that like to eat lol The pizza came out about 5 mins later, not too shabby of a wait time for a pizza if ya ask me .... And lemme tell ya hwhuat boys. ... That bish SLAPPED! Meat was noice n fall apart tender, nicely seasoned. Cheese pull like a fuggin Chicag-oh deep dish. Toss a lil rojo or Verde sauce on her, cilanto n onion...Dip that ish in the consome, now is it a pizza.... Is it's a Birria taco..... Oh my fawk boys it's both, best of both worlds right here! fat boy heaven Baybeee Coming in at $28 for the Birria pizza, it was definitely enough to fill these 2 fat guys up for the ride home without feeling too swamped out or needing to grab anything else on the 3 hour ride back. Chicken meat in the tacos are small pieces of coiled espirales meat which looks gross and do not have much flavor My husband órdered steak nachos which were tasty but They use fake procéssed cheese I órdered an horchata drink, It Was sickenly sweet and I couldnt drink It and the leñero refused to give me my money back I was also charged a $1.00 extra (3x's) for ordering extra lettuce, tomatoes, and onions I ended taking the horchata drink home and the ingredients separated on me The more solid ingredients sunk to the bottom, which constituted about 2 Tbls and the rest was Water Not impressed Our Bill for (2) of us was $43 Pricey Next time I'll go to Encanto Restaurant beautiful place there and people and similarly priced read more

The birria tacos were very very good. The prices weren't low, but were fair for the quality. The place was very clean and had a fun atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back for the tacos next time we're in the area. I am going to post this on all Mexican restaurants in this area I think and my wife thinks I'm crazy, but I still can't get used to not having chips on the table when eating Mexican. I just moved after a few years in California where the Mexican food was amazing. The name of this place gave me hope but the food let me down. I ordered the birra burrito. CONS: The food was disappointing and too highly priced for what you get. I do not understand why there are so many good reviews here-- maybe it's just what we ordered? I wouldn't call it authentic either. Eau Claire is small enough that people don't seem to know what good Mexican food is. I got the veggie burrito bowl and there weren't any black or pinto beans-- just a small amount of refried. There was a lot of rice, which seemed like a filler. My dish was not worth $14! Very good burrito, the menu has many unique and wonderful looking choices. Had to wait about 10 minutes for my online order but the quality was worth the wait.
