Coming from southern California I never expected to find such a good Mexican restaurant, but Casa Margarita is fantastic! The prices aren't too high, the employees - while seeming very lackadaisical (sometimes even playing slot machines) are actually very friendly and very quick and attentive (I had refills before I realized I needed them, but one or two sips later I was already grateful). I only had an issue with an employee being very slow one time so far and he was, sadly as it shows in his case he didn't care, was sitting a few feet away at the bar watching the television. And, of course, the food is delicious as well as served in very nice big portions. Glad to find this little place, not so much a 'hidden gem' but it feels like one with where it's located (which is kind of nice, keeps it from being insanely crowded all the time), wouldn't have known it was even there without the power of the internet! read more

The food selection on the menu was expansive ! I liked the various options available in the Appetizer area. I ordered the poblano pepper with egg. It was a scrambled egg, not a poached or fried egg. The chips and salsa were very fresh. The chips were served super hot with each refill. The service was spot on even though they were busy with large tables. We are traveling from Minnesota to go back home to Wisconsin and wanted somewhere close off the interstate and after the yelp reviews we found this gem. I don't normally review restaurants, but I read them once in a while. I am not real familiar the Mexican food scene in town and we almost didn't do take-out from here because of some of the negative reviews. I think the large menu allowed us to choose some really great food. I had Molcajete and my wife chori pollo. The chips and guacamole were great. Inside the restaurant is nice and bright and my food was on time and the staff very polite. I will be going back. read more

Its a fun place with good but not great mexican food. Part of the "Casa" chain (Chippewa Falls, Rice Lake, Ladysmith and ?), Casa Margarita serves a very full menu (too much?) with a full bar. Food is well prepared, staff is fun and the place is clean. While not my favorite mexican, it is certainly better than average. If you need a quick meal while driving by on the interstate, this place will fit the bill. Good food served by a local family. Wisconsin cheese so fresh, you can hear the cow mooing in the restaurant. Their decor is fun and hand painted. Ask Chango, best staff ever, to push a booth together if you need a nap. Queso fundido with chorizo is the best flavor - don't be alarmed by the grease, that needs to be there! Beef chimichanga is extremely tender - not ground beef but brisket beef! We wasted it on our ten year old (they loved it but we would have loved it more.) The carnita tinga was saucy and perfectly seasoned. Flour tortillas are handmade. You'll never have an empty bowls of chips, they don't skimp on anything. I'd pass on the guac, but everything else we will dream about for days. Freaking love this place! read more

Very disappointed by todays order. Be it the restaurants mistake or the Eat Street driver, the wrong order arrived. When I called and attempted to have it fixed the male on the phone demanded I bring back the wrong order because the people who ordered it were waiting and I could then reorder our food. Who would take food that has been delivered and opened to another persons home? That seems unsanitary and a horrible way to do business. Thankfully when I contacted Eat Street we received the $51 dollars refunded and a coupon for out next order. We were told to dispose of the order if we didn't want to eat it as it's against their policy to redeliver food due to health concerns and sanitary policies. Anyone who demands someone go out of their way to fix their mistake should not be in the service industry. read more

We found this place because of Yelp, driving from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. We wanted something close to the highway, quick, good plentiful but not a chain. Well - this is it. We were greeted immediately, shown to a table further in the restaurant where the music was loud. I asked for a quieter spot and was able to choose a booth close to the door. Chips and salsa came out right away with giant glasses of water. The salsa was delish- just enough heat and authentic (not chunky). I ordered the special: enchilada souiza (spelling?) - my hubs ordered the fajitas mixta. The food came quickly - hot fresh, fajitas sizzling of course. My food was sooo good. Green sauce with just the right amount of sour cream. It may have been a bit too salty, but I loved it. Hub's lime marg on the rocks was good, not too tart. Bottled lite beer was cheap, we had to take home half of each our meals, so we had Mexican for both lunch and dinner that day. If you hate styrofoam like I do just come equipped with your own to-go container. You will need it, especially if you eat as many chips as I did before the food came. Split something if you can't take it with you. This place looks great for big groups. We saw lots of families with kids, so they probably also serve kid food. Thoroughly pleased with Casa Margarita! We needed to stop for dinner while on a long road trip passing through the area. The steak/potatoes/random fried food joints aren't our style so we chose Mexican. Casa Margarita was legit! The gold margarita was tasty - not too sweet or syrupey, chips were warm and crispy, salsa was fantastic. We ordered the stuffed poblano entree and veggie fajitas and were delighted with both. After my favorite Mexican restaurant in EC got a new owner and started making changes to the food (heartbreaking!), we began looking for a new favorite. We showed up at about 9:25 on Friday night. The restaurant looked empty. We were seated right away and placed drink orders. I love the decor. While I've seen many handpainted chairs and booths, these were original and quite interesting. I wanted to walk around and look at them all but didn't get a chance. The first thing I noticed is how large the menu is. It's very full and quite frankly a little intimidating. The margarita was delicious. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. My only complaint about the food is that I wish the steak fajitas had been seasoned a little more. They were pretty bland as far as seasoning, but there was a very generous portion of steak, onions, peppers and tomatoes. I did get a chance to try some of my boyfriend's chicken and it was flavorful, moist and delicious. Rice was moist and tasty (so often I find the Mexican rice is dry). Towards the middle of our meal (and closing time!) two large groups began coming in the door. One of the groups was waiting for other people to show up and we watched as a 10+ party showed up one couple at a time over 10-15 minutes. The waitstaff was awesome. Our original server still checked on us, but other members of the staff checked in as well. This sounds petty, but I genuinely appreciate that other staff attempted to make sure we had a positive experience - too many times I've been somewhere and had a large party come in and been forgotten about. I also thought it was really great the way no one hesitated to seat and serve the two large groups that walked in literally less than 10 minutes before closing time. I enjoyed it. I've come here twice and it has officially become my go-to restaurant for Mexican cuisine! (For anyone who lives in Ladysmith / Rice Lake, this is the same family that owns Casa Mexicana, so you know it's good!!) Their chips and salsa are some of the best complimentary ones in the area (I've tried Manny's, Azul Tequila, Cancun, Taqueria la Poblanita, and the Mexican Supermarket Restaurant) and the salsa has a fantastic kick to it. The interior is decorated in bright beautiful colors and wonderful art decor. The staff is always very friendly, and I know some people complain about the staff being loud or boisterous, but I've always found it exciting/humorous when they start dancing or singing along to what's playing in the background. Never has it ruined my meal, and it's refreshing to see people actually enjoy their work and what they do. I recommend the burrito California, it's huge, filled with steak and chicken, beans, rice, pico de gallo, and smothered in cheese sauce. Seriously, it's AMAZING. For two people to eat, without ordering any fancy drinks, it was just under $30 with a tip which is fantastic for the generous portions they give. Casa Margarita has officially snagged me, I won't be going elsewhere for delicious Mexican food in Eau Claire! read more

Obviously the first two are not making your friend drive and forgetting your ID because the pitcher margaritas are so delicious your tongue will be dancing in your mouth. This place was terrible !!! The guacamole was bland and flavorless. Such a let down. The nachos where soggy and also bland. The only thing that made it ok was that the kids had hmabergers and fried and for a Mexican place that the only thing they got right. Really the American food you cook better then the actual cuisine you claime to be! All the high stars have me confused on if these are employees trying to brown nose for a raise hahahahah will not be returning to this place ever again. Tried Casa Margarita for the first time & was not disappointed. We started off with blended strawberry margaritas that were delicious & only $1! For dinner we ordered the chimichanga supremas which was a mix of beef, shrimp & chicken chimichangas that were so good! Nice to have a mix of choices. I asked our waitress what she recommended because I wanted to try something new, I forget the name but it was chicken with pineapple chunks served inside a half pineapple with beans & Spanish rice. The food was OK. The decor is nice. The host/ waiter at our visit probably thought he was funny. He wouldn't split our bill, was very condescending when someone asked for water and overall rude, etc. We figured we would be able to just figure out the bill when we received it, but it just listed dollar amounts and not the item. He also said the kids burrito meal wasn't spicy, but came with taco sauce. We won't be returning. We prefer a restaurant with more considerate staff, relaxing atmosphere and clear charges. I was only inside a few minutes but it looked nice, clean etc. It was good enough that I had to look back at some negative reviews and question them. I can't speak to full atmosphere inside or table service of course but to suggest the portions are small or that the food quality is akin to Taco Johns are simply false statements.
