First time at Encanto Cantina with my hubby, and let's just say--our taste buds are in love! From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was calm, cozy, and so inviting. Perfect for a little date night escape! Our sweet waitress was so patient with us (because seriously, everything looked drool-worthy). And the food? Absolute perfection. Thought we'd give Encanto a try while we were in town. For us, it was just disappointing from start to finish. The atmosphere is cute, and the seating is comfy. When we arrived the entire bar was open, and there were tables open, so there was absolutely no wait before the host took us to our table. And then . . . tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. Tables seated after us had waters, drinks, apps, and we still sat there with only menus on our table feeling like we were wearing invisibility cloaks. Finally, after 20-25 minutes my husband went up to the bar to order something for us to drink and to ask that they send a server to our table. I would call this a big fail on the part of the host. When our server did eventually arrive, he couldn't answer many questions about the menu (in his defense, I don't speak Spanish, either, but the diner at the table next to me was also not getting questions answered and well, we do live in WI). For our order, we had a Corona, Perfect Margarita, cheese dip, Burritos Mexicano and Taco de Ribeye. Let's just say the only things on our table that had flavor were the salsa and the raw onions. Cheese sauce, burrito and taco = bland. A crime against ribeye was also committed as the extremely thin slices of ribeye were hard and leathery. A sign that they know things aren't going well is that they don't have anyone stopping by the tables to ask if everything is alright. We were there close to two hours and were definitely not happy with any part of Encanto. read more

I went there with a group of guys before going to a movie on a recent Tuesday night. The perfect margaritas did take a little while to come out, but tasted great. The food was spot on. Decent service. A lot of great food for a reasonable price. I'll be back. Nice decor. Plenty of free parking. read more

3 words. Damn good food. Was not expecting for this food to be as good as it was. The super soft house made tortillas made every tie together very well. The bartender Tristan was the coolest guy I've have the pleasure of speaking with during a meal. He let my colleague and I have our solo conversation yet popped in at the right moments and kept the night going as we ended up staying until closing. Overall great experience and food . read more

The service was good and the waitress was very nice. The way it is set up, you are kind of sitting right next to strangers. It's not terrible but if you like to have a little more privacy to talk, this isn't the place for you. The food was okay. They bring some sort of white dressing with the chips and salsa. I still have not clue what it was. Looked like ranch but tasted like Italian. It was good with the salsa, though. I got the quesabirria tacos and they were very soggy. The flavor was just okay, the consume wasn't traditional for birria. The rice was super good, though! The beans were good. All in all, I would go back if I had a friend that wanted to go but I wouldn't run out to go back. It was just okay. read more

We walked in and the decor was beautiful and tastefully done. We sat at the bar and they brought us a taco to try, on the house. It was amazing! Then chips and salsa and a creamy sauce which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the Margarita flight which was really good. My only complaint is there were no prices on the drink menu. We were a little overwhelmed by the huge menu with dozens of choices. Then we ordered the burrito and chimichanga, so tasty and large portions. The staff was friendly and helpful and seemed to really like working there. We will definitely be back. read more

Although the food was good, my waitress asked for over a 30% tip! My bill total was $15.81. I have her $20.01 and sue returned w a $5 bill. My change should have been $4.20. Granted my cousin and i were here over an hour, there were other people that were here as long as we were here. I usually tip 15 to 20%. Not over 30%!!! Needless to say I will not be back. read more

We went here the night before valentines day. Excellent service by the bartender and others. The manager was friendly. The atmosphere is fun and bright. The restaurant gave us free appetizers and even gave us a free drink that they were testing for V-Day. The foot was amazing. Seafood was fresh and flavorful. Eau Claire - do not screw this up. This place has all your typical (Wisconsin) Mexican restaurant menu items but also some more elevated dishes and lots of fish/seafood options. Awesome cocktail menu and GREAT atmosphere! Service was excellent! read more

Had a 20 minute wait for two on a friday at 5:45-6:00 - pretty much expected! The vibe is much classier and fun than the other mexican options in town. You absolutely HAVE to get the Molajete Don Nacho - We had this for two of us and still had leftovers (had to order another round or tortillas however). We ordered the dip sampler and were super happy with the guacamole and bean/ queso. Jalapeño margarita is not as flavorful as expected however asked for jalapeño infused tequila next time and they substituted It. Totally recommend this place. Will be returning ! read more
