My 9month old boy cat had a urine blockage. It wasn't severe but I didn't not want to get to that point. Took him to a local hospital and after the $85 visit fee, they came back with an estimate of $6,330!!! Needless to say I ran out of there. They wouldn't even help. 3 years ago I brought my small senior dog for an emergency surgery and Calimesa vet clinic helped me a lot and so I brought my boy to them. Right away they brought him in and started on the procedure. Spoke to the doctor and went over the procedure. The vet tech came out with the first estimate of $3600. After going over what was essential to get him stabilized, the total came out to $2600. WAY better and reasonable than the $6300 I got at the other place. They even gave me a credit for over payment which shows how honest they are. They also texted me at midnight with picture and update of my boy, I'm forever grateful to the doctor and all the techs. Brought my cat in for an emergency. I was crying and they tried to take full advantage of that. They refused to let me back there so that I can monitor what they were gonna do to her. Everybody else in town refused to see my cat . I had no choice, but to come here . And that was a big mistake . They always like to sneak around do things behind your back. Try to charge you for it . And they demand that you let them do a urine analysis and the last time instead of just asking me if it was OK to do all this, they jammed a needle into my cats bladder !!! this vet has been known to for treatments on animals that don't need it and when I called the veterinarian medical board on them, I thought maybe things might have changed but no, they tried to take advantage of me charge me $700 for the emergency, but there wasn't a single soul in there?!? My cat is traumatized, hiding under the bed. my cat is Crying why? because when I walked in the back even though the lady told me I couldn't go back there. I did it anyways, and I found a bunch of them holding her down and ganging up on her and I just said get your hands off my pet and I'm gonna take her home. At least I saved her from being tortured to death from these monsters. All the one star reviews are true, even if it's an emergency is better that they just die peacefully at home then be tortured to death. UPDATE:: My cat seems fine..today.. I will keep a close eye on her.. If you red the other reviews..they litterally conviced a precvious owner to euthanize their baby when it wasnt nessacary and wouldnt even give them the animals remains unless they forked over an additional 1k. y! . Incompetent is the best way and the nicest way I can describe this place in these doctors took my dog in for a huge lump on his cheek within three minutes this incompetent doctor diagnosed my dog with final stage heart failure. That she diagnosed with a stethoscope before any x-rays were taken samples were taking she diagnosed my dog's lump on his face with a terminal life-threatening, super aggressive tumor I had a bad feeling from the moment I walked in. I honestly only went there because it was my only option on the weekend to get him some kind of pain medication and an antibiotic until I could get him to his own vet fast-forward Monday morning yeah my dog had an abscess in his cheek most likely from a bug bite no tumor and three doctor checked his heart and could not hear what that incompetent doctor claims she heard. also, when I called in the morning to find out the name of the medication's, they did prescribe because I could not remember them. They refuse to give them to me over the phone. How pathetic is that that these vets pray on people, desperate people trying to help their animals within three minutes they diagnosed my dog with two life-threatening terminal disorders, and he simply had an abscess from most likely a bug bite. The saddest part is is that they wouldn't even tell me the names of the medication's that they prescribed him because I simply was so upset that I couldn't remember them. It said to say that these doctors these vets they care more about profit than actual animals whatever oath that they take while being educated means nothing to them they pray on people's feelings and emotions. They get people while they're at their lowest and they're hurting and they're desperate to help their animal. The saddest saddest part of this whole situation is my husband who is actually suffering from a terminal cancer spent the entire weekend, grieving crying, heartbroken that we couldn't afford to save our dogs's life if these two diagnosis were true, and that we would have to probably most likely put him to sleep. We love Dr. Morkos for how compassionate and kind he is. You can tell how much he really cares. In the past he had helped us with our dog who had cancer (now passed), and we came back recently with our other dog who was having jaw pain. He remembered us from our old dog and asked how she was doing. We told him she passed and he gave us his condolences. I love how he cared about her so much that he remembered her months later. Anyways, with our current dog (Zelda) he helped us understand what was going on and laid out all the treatment options for us. He was very honest and didn't try to push one option over the other. Ultimately we decided to go for surgery for her, and all the staff members there treated Zelda with such care. I felt comfortable leaving her alone with them with how friendly they were. The only reason I knocked down a star for this clinic is the wait times and miscommunications. Even with an appointment we still waited about an hour to hour and a half. And sometimes I feel that some things of Zelda's treatment plan were miscommunicated between the people in the back and the people in the front. When I asked questions out of confusion, they were able to then ask and then clarify, but it could've been a quicker process if it was communicated initially. Despite these areas for improvement, I felt it was still worth it to take our fur baby here. I am writing this review with deep pain and absolute rage, two years after this clinic ruthlessly exploited my lack of veterinary knowledge and took my 2-year-old cat, Sun Zeus, away from me forever. I want every pet owner in Beaumont and Calimesa to read this so you never fall victim to their predatory tactics. On April 30, 2024, my cat accidentally swallowed a hair tie with a metal flower. Desperate and terrified, I trusted this clinic completely. They saw my ignorance and panic as a financial opportunity. After draining $1,000 from me just for initial examinations and the tragic eventual euthanasia, they intentionally used calculated scare tactics to push for thousands more. They quoted an astronomical, open-ended price of $5,000 to $8,000+, warning it could go even higher. While they were legally smart enough not to declare it an "absolute zero percent" survival rate, they heavily emphasized that "he would very likely not survive after the surgery anyway." By combining a bottomless financial pit with the terrifying narrative that the surgery would likely fail, they successfully broke my spirit and manipulated me into making the most agonizing decision to euthanize my baby. I spent $1,000, yet my poor cat never got to come home. I cried for a solid week, completely unable to even go to work. To make their cruelty even more subhuman, they refused to even let me have his ashes--they demanded EVEN MORE money just for me to hold his remains. They literally held my cat's ashes hostage for profit. It wasn't until much later, when I consulted with honest, trustworthy veterinary professionals, that I realized how maliciously I had been misled. As you can clearly see in the attached X-ray (⁠image.png⁠), the metal object was safely located in his stomach and had NOT entered his intestines. The true experts confirmed that a standard, routine gastrotomy--which costs a mere fraction of what this clinic quoted--could have easily and successfully saved my 2-year-old boy. This clinic didn't care about saving a life; they cared about maximizing profit. When they realized they couldn't extort $8,000 out of me, they happily took my $1,000, killed my healthy cat, and demanded more money for his ashes. Please, if you love your pets, stay far away from this place and get a second opinion elsewhere. Rest in peace, my sweet Zeus. You deserved so much better than their greed. read more

I have been a long-time client of Calimesa Veterinary Clinic, which makes this experience especially disappointing. After my dog was treated by an emergency veterinary hospital, I was directed to follow up with Calimesa Veterinary Clinic one week later. At that visit, the veterinarian at Calimesa Veterinary Clinic advised that suture removal should occur at three weeks, rather than the 10-14 days recommended by the emergency veterinarian. I followed their guidance and scheduled the suture removal appointment accordingly. At the suture removal appointment, I was told the sutures had been removed and advised to call if any remained. Several days later, we discovered sutures still present in my dog's leg and back. I called the clinic to report that sutures remained after the removal appointment. During that phone call, the staff member was apologetic, and I specifically requested that my dog be seen by a veterinarian at the follow-up visit. When I returned to the clinic, I was not allowed to speak with or see a veterinarian, and I was never given confirmation that a veterinarian examined my dog. The visit was handled entirely by a veterinary technician. I was asked to identify remaining sutures in the lobby, under poor lighting and in front of other clients. Despite photos and confirmation from the emergency veterinary hospital that no dissolvable sutures were used, the veterinary technician repeatedly insisted otherwise and spoke in a dismissive, condescending manner. Additional sutures in my dog's leg were eventually removed. However, the remaining non-dissolvable suture on his back was not removed and was instead cut shorter and left under the skin. I was then told to return to the emergency veterinarian to address it. While the clinic was initially apologetic by phone, this experience raised serious concerns about follow-up care, communication, and veterinarian involvement. I am now also concerned about the potential impact of a non-dissolvable suture being left under my dog's skin in a healing wound. Given how this situation was handled overall, I no longer feel confident in the care provided and cannot recommend Calimesa Veterinary Clinic. read more

This place is awesome until your pet needs something. Got my dog in same day for back pain. Spent close to $1000 on testing and medications. But once my dog wasn't getting better and out of meds and still in pain you can barely get anyone to help you. Three days to fill a prescription. It's quicker for us humans to get meds. And when the vet didn't reply back after 24 hours about my dog still being in pain the person on the phone said "there is nothing she can do." So disappointing. Good vets don't exist anymore. All they want is your money but don't want to help when your pet truly needs it. read more

Listen to the low reviews, just stay away from this place. They're nothing but a money grab. No bedside manners. We had an appointment then had to wait another hour on top of that to be seen. Then another 45 minutes waiting for the actually doctor to see our pup. She was in there for maybe a minute and suggested an insane surgery for a little cut he had, not even an inch long. Insisted on drains being out in, the estimate coming to $1500..insanity. We declined, paid the walk in fee ($80) and cared for our pup overnight. The next morning we took him to the Animal Hospital in Grand Terrace, the wait wasn't bad, maybe an hour for walk in, the doctor there said it wasn't bad at all and can be taken care of quickly. He was taken back to get stitched up. Costing us $600. Highly advise to always get a second opinion if you can. This saved us $800 .. Also to note, staff could be more professional when customers are present. One tech behind the counter kept dropping F bombs .. it just was a very odd place. Look elsewhere. read more

This clinic is pretty awesome. We've had several urgent situations over the years that required us to go to Calimesa Vet and they never fail our animals and get them right in. Most recently we had an odd event that caused us to attempt to manage at home however, it became unmanageable and when I called, they had me in office within 2 hours and seen within 20 min. Dr. Abraam is so kind and knowledgeable, he made us feel supported and was not judgmental of this embarrassing case. He took care of our pup as if it was his own and treated us like long time friends. As always, we will return. read more

I'm going to be 100% honest. I feel like this clinic took advantage of the situation. I took my dog in because he was attacked by my other dog. This is not the first time I have taken my dog in for being attacked. The first time he was attacked I took him to an emergency hospital where I was charged $700. This second time I took him to Calimesa Veterinary clinic and I was charged $1400. I dont understand how an emergency hospital charged me $700 and a clinic charging me double that. I also declined to pay them $250 for them to send his X-rays to another doctor. I do appreciate them taking him in without an appointment but once the doctor seen my dog he asked me to show him where his wounds where he did not touch my dog at all. I thought that was weird that he had me move my dog around to show him the wounds. As soon I declined them to send my dogs X-rays to another doctor I felt like the nurse changed her attitude towards me. My dog did not get any stitches I did not want to find out how much they would charge me to stitch him up. I ended up taking him home and curing him my self. He's doing a lot better he was walking on day 2 from me cleaning his wounds and putting ointment that I bought from petco. read more

I am reluctant to write a bad review unless it's warranted, I have been using Calimesa vet clinic for a number of years, I've had a couple pretty bad experiences recently, and I figured I should speak out, I am a civilian working dog handler, I had a German Shepherd present, some swelling, come to find out she had cancer, the diagnosis was pretty straightforward, we can't cure it but we can give the dog a good quality of life for as long as possible, that vet visit, even though wasn't the best news, with good advice, a change of diet we got an extra six months with that dog, it was amazing, we did quality of life assessments every week until it was time to put her down, I made the appointment, prepaid for the appointment, everybody knew what we were coming in for, everybody except for the veterinarian, which didn't knock on the door, startled the dog, came in wearing a mask, I asked the vet. Hey give me a minute to get a muzzle on the dog, which the vet ignored, leaning down in the dogs face, the dog lunged and removed the mask from the veterinarians face.. first rule of dogs and veterinary medicine is read the room and never stick your face in a dog's face. Veterinarian leaves the room, comes back 15 minutes later and says OK. What are we here for, looks like we might have some lumps, did not even open the chart, I explained we were here for a euthanasia, then the veterinarian asks if we want to reschedule, my family has been dreading this day for months and then a clueless veterinarian with zero bedside manners wants to prolong the inevitable, the office manager came in, profusely apologized, which was appreciated, she and one other vet is the only two competent people that I've met at this facility, that experience was pretty damn horrific to be honest, I should've learned my lesson, fast-forward to last week, freshly retired, military bomb dog is playing in the backyard and gets a cut on a hind leg, I call it 5 o'clock and I say hey I've got a small injury that I'd like to have a vet take a look at and I know you're closing soon, girl on the phone says not a problem come on in we will get him patched up in no time, I leave my house rush over there get into the parking lot and I receive a phone call from the clinic, telling me that because it's close to closing time they want to charge emergency after hours charges and that it is a requirement that they do a full blood panel, x-ray, and possibly keep the dog overnight, mind you they have not even seen the animal, I explain I've had one negative experience in the past, the girl on the phone says well if you've had a negative experience, you should probably find another vet, who says that when you've got a injured working dog? I explain that I've been around the dog world enough to know that a $1500 vet visit for a stitch or staple is a money grab, she suggests that I use a veterinary after hours clinic in the Colton area because they are trying to go home. Over the last six years, this clinic has gone downhill fast, I am still beside myself on how someone can represent a company this way, and financially taking advantage of customers isn't a way to earn business. Ownership of this clinic needs to take a solid look at staff and overall customer satisfaction and make some serious adjustments By the way, dog was seen by another vet, $288. 2 staples a pain medication and an antibiotic, and we were on our way, and that veterinary clinic has earned a customer for life. read more

The same vet I just spent like $2000 on my cat in the past few months and more in the past. I forgot my wallet because I had taken it out of my purse. I asked if they took checks, that was a no. I tried to use the app on my phone but it wasn't working. I said I could run to my house and get my wallet, I'm literally down the street. He said he had to ask his boss. I told him that would make sense if I was a new client, but I've been a repeat client and spent thousands there and never once didn't pay them in full. Meanwhile, I tried to update my card in the app. The receptionists are now giving me looks. Tried again, it didn't work. I said I have to go home to get my card. The receptionist told me that's fine but to leave "the pet" meaning Bailey. So I said, I'm not going to do that, I'll be back. I took my son and Bailey home, got my card, went back and paid the $140. I was polite and simply said that the situation could have been handled better. This time he was polite again and smiled and thanked me. I feel bad he is put in the situation by his boss but I find it ridiculous that a loyal client is told to leave their pet as collateral for $140. Sir, that is my daughter. Besides, they have my address, Phone number, place of employment, driver's license. I feel that loyal clients should be treated better. 3 stars remain because they treat my pets well. The two vets who initially treated my cat needed more experience assessing and providing appropriate treatment. In this case, my cat showed signs of losing weight and a T4 test was not administered for possible hyperthyroidism. Unfortunately, the steroid treatment was a flop and eventually no other treatment administered since she lost mobility having detoriated with all the weight loss. Leading to her to be put down, and their bedside manners can be improved when they ethanasized my pet. read more
