Jeff Cohn used to be located in Sonoma, but has since moved to Healdsburg, but I still try to visit it when I can. Staff has always been quite pleasant and knowledgeable. Prices have gone up, but everything has across the board in the wine industry, so I am not upset to be honest as this is truly a "you get what you pay for" scenario. As with most wineries since COVID, it's by appointment, but they are happy to take you in on slow days without a reservation, which is great. Parking wise, super easy as there is ample parking and also a ton of food options around for before or after. All and all, a great spot and always recommend!

My bf's family…read morehas been longtime club members so I've enjoyed their wines on many occasions and I can confidently say they produce some truly exceptional bottles. We had an 11:00 AM reservation for a party of 8 and I feel incredibly grateful that we were able to experience their private Ranch Estate tasting. I was told these tastings are reserved exclusively for members, while non-members can enjoy their beautiful public tasting room in downtown Napa. Brown Estate also holds a special place in Napa Valley history as the region's first Black owned estate winery. The moment you step out of the car, you're greeted by rows upon rows of grapevines rolling across the hillsides, with towering centuries old olive trees creating the perfect canopy overhead. Beneath those trees was the most charming tasting table where our experience began. Joe warmly welcomed us before introducing us to David Brown, the winemaker and one of the three children of founders Dr. Bassett and Marcela Brown. It was such a privilege getting to meet someone so deeply connected to the family's legacy. Although Napa Valley is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon, Brown Estate has built its reputation as one of the finest producers of Zinfandel. Instead of the typical welcome rosé that many wineries serve, Joe poured each of us a glass of their newest release, Chaos Theory White. I absolutely loved that they started the tasting this way! As we sipped, Joe shared the inspiring story of the Brown family, and one story in particular completely captured my attention: the "Bat Cave to Vineyard" journey. When the Brown family purchased the property in 1980, they weren't planning to start a winery. They simply wanted a peaceful weekend retreat where they could introduce their children to rural life. Instead, they inherited a 450 acre ghost ranch. At the heart of the property stood a beautiful late 19th century Queen Anne Victorian that had been abandoned for years and had become home to a massive colony of bats. Restoring the property required an incredible amount of work, including carefully relocating the bats since California law protects all native bat species. I couldn't help but laugh imagining an entire Victorian mansion being overtaken by bats! Yaiks!! Then came one of the highlights of the day.. The WINE CAVE!!! The 10,000 sq ft subterranean cave is an incredible feat of winemaking architecture, carved directly into the rocky hillside. It naturally maintains a cool temperature year round, making it the perfect environment for aging hundreds of barrels of Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Walking inside felt like discovering a hidden sanctuary. It was peaceful, stunning and unlike any winery cave I've visited! The wines were phenomenal, but what made the day truly unforgettable were the people. Joe and David took turns sharing stories about the family, the property and the wines, making us feel less like guests and more like friends. We were so engaged that our tasting stretched well past 3:00 PM, causing us to arrive late to our 3:15 tasting at another winery! We couldn't even be upset because none of us wanted to leave! Lol. We visited several wineries throughout this Napa trip but nothing came close to the experience at Brown Estate. The genuine hospitality, the incredible wines, the rich family history, and the intimate atmosphere made this visit unforgettable. It's easy to see why their members are so loyal because they truly treat everyone like family. If you're a wine lover visiting Napa Valley, Brown Estate deserves a spot at the very top of your list. And if you ever have the opportunity to experience the Ranch Estate tasting, don't hesitate. It's one of those rare wine experiences you'll still be talking about long after you've gone home.

Grapes are sourced from Marcey's Vineyard in Calistoga and with skilled hands they make some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon I have tasted. And, I have tasted several hundred cabs over the years. Stellareese wines are priced as not to deter the average wine drinker from purchasing. The cabs however drink like a higher priced luxury label and I would score them in the high 90's. Sales are done online but they have partnered with The Parlor in Napa for private sit down tastings. As a self proclaimed oenophilia I highly recommend Stellareese wine. Woohoo! As good as it gets!

Tim, of Happy Napa, knows what makes the Napa region the jewel that it is. I wanted to visit some small wineries and do some tasting. Tim has connections with nearly everybody who is somebody and that made for a way beyond expectations experience. Not only did I get behind the scenes VIP tours of each facility we visited but Tim really knows his stuff about the tasting process. Happy Napa made me feel like a VIP on winery tours, plus their suggestions on after hours activity was spot on. From lodging to restaurant and nightlife. I think next time I'll have them arrange a morning hot air ballon ride.

However, I…read morewasn't aware that there's been a local art museum next to Chandon in Yountville since 1972 until Jamie read about the special tiki bar exhibition running until the end of this month, "Tiki Dreams: From Far Away Fantasy to Pop Culture Phenomenon". Definitely up our alley. Well, given our recent run on patronizing tiki bars here and abroad, we just had to go. We went up on a recent Saturday, and the museum was crowded with tiki aficionados. It turned out Bank of America was sponsoring an admission-free day, so we took advantage and became engulfed in what felt like a claustrophobic space that was equal parts arts & crafts fair and vintage memorabilia. There was definite entertainment value if you miss this mid-century phenomenon. There were other exhibition rooms, but we weren't made aware of them by the staff. Perusing the website, I noticed some interesting past exhibitions like "The Great California Road Trip 1962", something that appeals to my baby boomer sensibilities. Visited the Napa Valley Museum during the Tiki Dreams, Mini Masterpieces, and the Great California…read moreRoad Trip exhibits. I went for the Tiki Dreams exhibit in particular. The largest exhibit is in the main building on the ground floor with the admissions desk and gift shop. The tiki exhibit itself was quaint and small. Mugs, old menus, photos and history of tiki bars, one set of Witco chairs and table, plus a hand built bar by local artist Woody Miller. Interesting to see but ultimately a quick walk through maybe intended more for those looking for nostalgia. They were selling tiki merchandise and mugs at inflated prices at the gift shop. Mugs that were $150 at the original events are being marked up and sold for $230. Almost all of the gift shop merch was overpriced. The other two exhibits downstairs were small and it smelled of sulfur or sewage since they are located below the bathrooms.. Really off putting. We looked through mini masterpieces and Great California Road Trip exhibits in at most 15 minutes and left. Entry to the museum is $15 per person... We went during Bank Of America's Museum on Us which takes place every first full weekend of the month. Bring your Bank of America credit or debit card and entry is free. Luckily one of us got in for free with this promo.
