First time at Calixtos Pizza. I placed a phone order. Originally, I wanted a Canadian bacon and spinach pizza. Bummer - no spinach no artichoke hearts available. I ordered a Canadian bacon and tomato pizza. The pizza was tasty. My true test of good thin crust pizza is the next day out of the refrigerator. The pizza held its shape. And, the cold pizza was yummy. My favorite pizza in SoCal is Big Rob's Sicilian Pizza. But, Calixto's Pizza is another option to try. I think it would be great to take on a road trip stored away in an insulated bag. read more

According to their website, they "prefer" slicelife.com, which is convenient for them because it's two dollars more expensive to order on slice life rather than door dash. And the best part is, according to door dash, "the restaurant is currently closed," even during normal business hours. So the people ordering on slice life spend more money. I've been here a few times. They now serve this pretty giant single slice which is pretty cool. And they make to order. The crust is pretty awesome. Super crunchy and holds it shape well. You can pick up a piece with a ton of topping on top and it'll stay straight. I really like the crunchiness. Unfortunately I'm not impressed with anything else. There's no flavor to their marina and the toppings aren't anything extraordinary. The family that owns and runs this place are super friendly though. read more

It's $6 for a slice of pepperoni pizza and it cost $5 extra per slice to add bell peppers, onion, sausage, mushroom to make it a supreme. This place was so good! I struggle to find good delivery options around here. Great topping to crust ratio and they actually remembered to cut it into squares- which makes all the difference IMO. Crust had a great flavor and even after the delivery time it wasn't didn't get soggy despite how thin it is. My only suggestion would be to make the crust a touch thicker. Pizza by the slice that is made to order (which means it takes some time). Slices are $5.99 here. It cost me $1 extra per spice for pepperoni and an extra $.75 for other toppings. The slices here are thin and crispy but large. They pre-cut my slices into eight mini pieces. I got pepperoni and olive and pepperoni and mushrooms. They were generous with the toppings. The thin crust held up well with all the toppings and cheese and is not doughy at all. Overall great flavor. For once slice it's not bad, but when you buy two slices and it's $16, makes you wonder if you should just get a whole pizza somewhere. Anyhow, just a thought, but I do like their pizza. Friends recommendation. This family owned pizza joint is located on Heil and Magnolia...next to a liquor store so parking is limited. Inside has limited seating worth two normal and 2 single person tables but there's a window seating. So what's makes this place stand out: family own and "giant" pizza. How giant? It's 28 inch while the XL is 18 inch of 12 slices. It's similar to Giant Manhattan Pizza who also has a "giant" pizza. However, they stand out with Mango habanero secret speciality pizza. They have special of two-topping XL pizza and 2L soda for only $21. Fiend and I got the pepperonis/chicken special while I order the giant mango habanero pizza. Pizzas takes less than 30 minutes so call to go if you don't plan on waiting at the place. They don't have water except water bottles for purchase but there is a liquor store next door. When pizzas are finally done, was it worth it? Heck yeh. The giant pizza is so big that it's bigger than a 4 person. normal table. The XL pepperoni/chicken looks good and beautiful. The crust is thin so it's perfect and not too heavy on cheese. It's not too greasy and the bottom is not that burnt from which you get from most pizza places. The chicken is moist and flavorful while the pepperoni is little crispy but it's add to its charm. Overall, I highly recommend this place. There's 4% tax if use card so take advantage of their cash discount to avoid this. They do have appetizers like wings and bread, salads, pasta and sandwiches and calzones.
