I had a plumbing problem that was extensive but not an emergency. After calling the plumbing company with whom I had previously done business, and received "We might be able to send someone in about a week," I decided to try Call Clint, about whom I've known for years. After taking all my information over the phone, the man with whom I spoke said they could send someone that same afternoon. This wound up being Jean, about whom others have given favorable reviews, to which I'll add this one. The whole experience was very professional. I was given advance notice of when he'd arrive, including a photo of him for recognition. He arrived right on time. There was a charge to do some work to determine the exact problem, and I was at first concerned about the cost. But it was worth it. Not only was he thorough, but he cleaned up afterwards, and it was just as clean as before he arrived. The work required a significant amount of time, for which I was given the chance to indicate when. I decided on the very next day. He again arrived on time and worked nonstop for over 5 hours to get the job done. The final cost exactly matched the estimate I was given the previous day. This was the best plumbing experience I've had for work on my house, and I'll definitely consider them again in the future. read more

Within 24 hours, from a phone call to the people who worked on the last water heater replacement, to getting and appointment, to getting an estimate, to getting the old gas water heater out and a new gas water heater in, and a clean up that made it appear they were never here. You would never find a better deal. I will probably need one more gas water heater in my future and I hope these guys, Tony, John, and the fellow (Rob?) that helped get the gas water heater replaced, will still be around. I will never use their service after what they did to my mom. They pretty much tried to rip her off, trying to get rich overnight. I was young then but if i knew what i knew now, i would have said something to them or called the company to complain or reported them for being so dishonest. It started out.. one day the toilets couldnt flush so my mom called mr rooter. They didnt really explain to my mom that the estimate ( which should be free) was approx $300.00! Most companies do a free estimate. It was too late because my mom had signed paperwork that the estimate was that high. So then mr rooter said the plan was to tear up the concrete ground to get to the plumbing and it was going to take weeks for the job to be done and thousands of dollars. After a lot of stressful days... my mom called a neighbor friend for help and he knows some stuff about plumbing. He literally worked on the plumbing for less than an hour and the toilets worked... No problems whatsoever. Mr rooter is a total rip off!! Whenever i hear their name.. Mr rooter or see their van on the road, i just get negative thoughts and will never ever recommend that company to anyone!!!! They are not an honest company and just want to get rich overnight by ripping people off!!!! read more

Awful experience. On Saturday 9/19 8:00am I called for an urgent problem as my kitchen sink detached from the countertop and the sink waste water was flowing onto the kitchen floor. I was told that there were no appointments until the following Tuesday between 3-5pm. Desperate, I booked the appointment. On Tuesday I took the afternoon off from work but Clint Plumbing was a no show. I called at 4:30pm and was told that they cancelled me because I didn't pick up my cell phone when they called "to check if I still wanted a plumber" at 1:40 in the afternoon. I am a physician treating patients, there is a pandemic on and I didn't pick up an unidentified call during the day. How was I supposed to know that Clint Plumbing calls from unidentified numbers and will cancel you if you don't pick up? That is crap. Plain, simple and unadulterated crap. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that the Service Manager Robert would call me back. It's been a week and Robert has yet to call me. Nobody at Clint ever called to reschedule. Nobody at Clint Plumbing returned my call to address my complaint. About 4 years ago, I had a difficult experience with Clint Plumbing when they tried to scam us telling us that our water was hard and we needed a $5,000 water softener system. I'll spare you the details but suffice it to write that the proprietor came physically to my home in response to my outrage. Turns out our water isn't hard at all and he refunded all of my money and asked that I not write a bad review or out their scam to the consumer protection services. After all his pleading, I said I'd let the matter go. Since I see that Clint Plumbing is dishonest and dishonorable, I will NEVER use them again under any circumstances. Found them on google after my main pipe decided to back up all over my basement. Never heard of them before but they had 24/7 service and 8pm at night this couldnt wait till the morning. Mike came earlier than the initial response time which was great. Thoroughly looked over everything inside and out . Explained what was going on and how much the repair or snaking would be and so on. This was a complicated snake job but he worked very hard and got it unclogged. Answered all my septic related questions as he was working and got the job done for me! I will be back to have the tank pumped for sure . Outstanding professional courteous service with a smile as exhausted as he was . Its not easy to work outside in the dark. He did a phenomenal job! Very disappointing. They contacted me through a Home Advisor query and said they would come. After fifteen minutes of head scratching and poking around, I was told they couldn't do anything. A bill for almost $300 was pushed at me and I was coerced into signing two packs of papers full of fine print. One, I read later, said I was satisfied with the work and that I would pay all fees if I took them to court. With an emergency on my hands, and no help from Call Clint, I signed and paid after expressing shock at the size of the bill. I needed to find someone who could help. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON ! I called them a while back for a leak in my garage and made an appointment for 5:00 pm the following day. The plumber showed up at my house at 11:30 pm and rang the bell (despite the fact that the lights were off and my family was asleep). His excuse was that " he couldn't get away from the job before me". 6 & 1/2 hours late? I asked him to return the following day (which was a Saturday) believing that I would be first on the list. The following day, 2 plumbers showed up at my house at 2:30pm and one of them had a broken arm, wearing a cast, and proceeded to tell me that he "didn't want this job in the first place". He looks through an opening that I had cut out in my garage ceiling, then goes up to the bathroom above it. He returns and informs me that my bathtub need re-caulking and that Mr Rooter doesn't do this type of work. He then hands me a bill for more than $200. I told him that their ad says "free estimates" and his reply was "that's only if we do the work". Naturally, my wife and I put a stop-payment on the check. The following Monday, I received a call (at work) from their Customer Service rep inquiring about my non-payment and experience. When I informed him that his broken-armed plumber "didn't want the job in the first place", his reply was "well, I'll have to speak to him about that". What kind of a customer service response is that? Then we got into the issue of payment: (charging me more than $200 for 2 minutes of estimate time?) Again, I was told that the estimate is only free if the work is done. I said "then why wasn't I informed of that in my driveway BEFORE this excuse for a plumber walked into my house"? His reply was "that's not our usual policy". When he pressed me again for payment, I told him I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and he would be dealing with them. His response was "go ahead. that's your right." As a footnote to this experience: I contacted a coworker of mine whose husband is a genuine, professional contractor. He came by and diagnosed the situation. The bathtub was fine but we had a small leak in a drainpipe right above my garage ceiling. He replaced it in less than an hour and charged me $100. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend Mr Rooter (not even at gunpoint). Atrocious service and absolutely terrible customer relations. Avoid this company at all costs. With all the competition in the plumbing field, you'd be much better off contacting a reputable, professional company. read more

Be warned that this company trespasses and damages other people's property. Our neighbor's contracted Mr. Rooter in Pleasant Valley to put in a new sewer line. in Peekskill, NY. Engineering plans were drawn up that I am sure included the property line. There were 2 1/2 foot markers designating the property line which is 6.6 feet from the neighbor's fence and there were wood logs lined up along the boarder. 3 clear visible indicators of the property line were ignored and while the actual sewer pipe is on the right side by inches Mr. Rooter had people, an excavator, and part of the trench on my property. Mind you the neighbor and their attorney were pre-warned that they nor any agents acting on their behalf (that means you, Mr. Rooter) are permitted on my property. We called Mr. Rooter on Tues 6/24 no one called back but IAN came over and spoke to us and we said we want your boss to call us. IAN claimed the engineer told him the property line was further over...ignorance is no excuse...there were clear property markers (until they started working over and past them). They did not exercise due diligence and now my property has been trampled...not to mention the 2 property markers I cannot locate now because of the work they did. This cost me $1000 in 2010 to have markers and the rods placed. We called and left a message for DREW on Wed 6/25 and no one called back. We gave our cell number to IAN on Thurs 6/26 to have his boss call us and not a one call. We had the POLICE out today to document the damage and we filed a police report. Some business! Oh yeah and they managed to break the City water main or sewer main (not sure which) when they were working so the street that had just been repaved last year is all dug up. Bravo! Know where the property line is before you dig...isn't that common sense! read more

If you have ever had a sewer backup you know what I am describing. Horrific is not the word for what was going on and being stupid we kept trying to do stuff ourselves which caused even more to come up. Mr Rooter's service is top stuff - they answer the phone and provide you with help immediately not like others who start scheduling you in as if you are making a manicure appointment. Prices are reasonable and they dont start hiking up when they arrive(like some other) nor do they cause you damage and mess. I am just so totally and incredibly impressed with every step of my interactions with Mr. Rooter fixing a couple issues in a rental unit. The dispatcher kept me in the loop, with a fast and friendly tone that really gave me confidence... And Ian, the tech, was amazing! He quickly diagnosed the plumbing problems--a clogged main house trap and a broken hot water faucet, and made recommendations... I was surprised to find out that he could take care of everything right then. And he did! He wasn't just a great tech, he was a great ambassador for the business... Careful and polite to the tenants, conscious of my concerns as a landlord, and yes, he even wore booties! This is my new go-to plumbing service, and I will recommend enthusiastically. read more

I have always been pleased with their service, response time, and professionalism. This visit was no different. Josh was extremely knowledgeable, had the drain open and operating within 15 minutes and provide some good recommendations for correcting the issue. Disaster. My GC (that's another story), hired them to put plumbing in a new construction slab. When they were done, we discovered that they forgot to put in vent pipes for the bathrooms. Slab had to be drilled out where the vents were, installed and then cemented over again. This is plumbing 101 and they failed it badly. read more

Although my issue wasn't solved I had a decent experience with Call Clint Plumbing. The plumber was knowledgeable however did not solve my problem because he believed the issue was being caused by equipment installed by my water softener company. That has yet to be determined. read more

However they have REFUSED to follow up on their VERBAL commitment to bring the settled soil back up to grade and trim the access pipes (which are unsightly and a barrier to cutting the grass). My review is based on a visit by Mr Rooter from Sean. I called on a Saturday due to a pinhole leak right where my water comes in. Sean showed up at 9pm after working another plumbing job all day and still had a pleasant attitude. He did not have the piping he needed on him and asked if he could return first thing Sunday morning. I told him that was fine as obviously I needed it fixed. I was very upset with mr. Rooter when they estimated to my neighbor, who is an elderly lady, that it would b over 700 dollars to install heating tape on a water line. Cannot believe they would charge so much for such a simple install. I was going to assist her with paying, bc she is on a fixed income, and extra expenses are tough to manage. This plumber charges outrageous prices! We had Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Pleasant Valley, NY install the drain plumbing for a new sink. They showed up when they said they would and did an adequate job. It took them only about 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the job, since it was a very simple plumbing job. So I was shocked when I got the bill for $650! There was less than $50 worth of parts for the job, so this amounts to over $450 per hour for their work. They claim that they do not charge an hourly rate, only a flat fee for services. However, this is just their way of hiding their hourly rates so they don't have to reveal them to you. I called them to complain about this rate but got no action from the owner. Do not use this company unless you like paying outrageous prices. read more
