    After dinner walk time
    Glenn V.

Back in the great town of Breezy point since a few years removed, before Hurricane Sandy and after I sold my Harley. Perhaps that's a sign of the times as I am always looking for hidden messages and I like to combine them with metaphors - I enjoy the search. Not in an out with the old and in with the new way, more of a this happened this way for a reason kind of way. Good or bad - there is typically a lesson to be had if we are able to see it. Its a big day for the my girlfriend whom I am actively working on becoming my doomer girlfriend. She always upbeat and positive and I just don't understand it, (anthrax, nukes, job reports, crime) but I respect it tremendously. Well, she just landed a new position and she is moving on in other aspects of her life, she has quickly come roaring back into color before my very eyes. The hidden message here is one of building a new home after an environmental storm at Breezy, too build a new life after a life of weathering personal storms and challenges, awaiting the still and the calm - being prepared for another assault all while building something unbreakable. And its certainly not just her, its in large part, me too. Lets get on to the food. A simple concept - fresh fish and chops prepared with love and respect for the fine folks that populate the surroundings of the bay. I do not consider Time Square or Rockefeller prime real estate, I do however consider this charming little spot where you can hear the children play in the dunes, between the neighbors prime plus. The Specials were beautifully stated by our waiter - I wanted to hear him twice and he did. Not confusing and not pretentious, prices and coruscation counts given up front, no guessing required - no jacket required either as I sported my Star Spangled shorts. Linguine flavored with chives, parsley extra garlic all balanced in a buttery white wine clam sauce. Light and flavorful, I tasted each shrimp, clam and mussel individually and completely. But before that three outstanding appetizers all with amazing sauces and dressings appeared. Lightly candied walnuts, fresh cranberries upon warm little delicate pockets of goat cheese with chilled green and robust light crisp leaves. My lady's Swordfish was top quality cooked to absolute perfection, a medium cook temp - light and flakey which reminds me of the Crab Cake as I wander back and forth from appetizer to entrees. I could smell the real crab as it was set upon the table - like the ones I caught here on the docks with killies (bait fish) in 1985. That salty and beautiful briny subtle kiss of the ocean. Shall I keep going? I can and would but I shall take no further time from you fine folks, my dear readers - HAPPY Fourth of July to you All!! HAPPY Independence Day!! God Bless America!!

Decided to take a ride to Breezy Point for an early evening meal and decided on Kennedys. While we didn't have a reservation they were very accommodating and fullfilled our request for outdoor dining. As soon as we sat down I could tell this had the hallmarks for a special event. The restaurant is white table cloth, and immaculate and you can tell they run a tight ship. It immediately gives off the energy of a great meal. The service was impeccable and attentive and the food was fabulous. We decided on the beet goat cheese walnut salad, crab cake and the calamari special as appetizer. I don't think I've ever had a salad that large in a restaurant of this caliber. What really surprised me is that the salad was cold and crisp. When was the last time you went to a place that paid that much attention? The greens were fresh and the goat cheese was the perfect amount so as to just add a little extra touch and not be overkill like some places which glob it on. The crab cake was real and not the imitation disaster you find and had the perfect amount of crisp to it. It didn't fall apart but just held nicely together as if it was divinely inspired. It was accompanied by a sweet corn that was a surprise and a pleasant one at that but the winner hands down was the calamari. I don't know what kind of magic oil they cooked it in but it was perfect, light and airy and breaded to perfection. Fresh calamari, mind you, not the frozen stuff you get at Italian joints looking to stuff you with grease and rubber. As for the main courses, I ordered the swordfish and even though it said blackened there was not one spot that was overcooked. It was light and crispy and fresh and I see why it was a highly requested special. Served with mashed and green beans , the sides were just as well done as the main attraction. And the proton sizes were beyond generous. As for his meal, it was a seafood medley with of linguine mussels shrimp and clams in a delicate wine sauce that even he couldn't finish. We left fully satisfied and pleased to find a new favorite spot. And nothing beats a nice beach walk after dinner to enjoy the sunset with a special someone. Definitely going back again!

Just celebrated my father's birthday during lunch, and as usual we had a terrific experience! The waitress was wonderful, the food and cocktails delicious, and the ambience warm and beachy, exactly what we needed. The owner/hostess Christine, sent over a slice of my father's favorite cakes, key lime pie, to celebrate and making it that much more special. Looking forward to going back when it's a bit warmer.

Rating: 3.5 Stars due to the waiter Warning if you're not a " resident" then put on your patience cap. My friend has family that lives out here by the restaurant. They are a generation after generation, a family of fireman-firefighters. She was away for Labor Day and always tells me if you want to go to this section to let her know so she and her family would accompany us because their residence. However, I certainly did not think that I needed her and her family to go to a restaurant to eat. It's not like we were buying a house. It was just food. Oh boy, was I wrong. We were excited to try this spot, especially since a friend with deep local ties had recommended it. At first, everything was great -- we were seated quickly, greeted warmly, and served water and bread right away. It felt like five-star service! But once a large group of 18-19 people arrived (who were the locals-residence), the attention shifted completely. Our waiter was kind and did his best, but we waited over 40 minutes for our food, which arrived lukewarm and was just okay. It was clear the kitchen prioritized the big group, and we felt overlooked. It was disappointing to feel overlooked simply because we weren't "residents" or part of a local group. The decor and views were beautiful, and again -- our server was doing his best. But once again, it's disappointing to feel like being a "non-resident" meant second-tier service. I hope in the future all guests -- whether locals or visitors -- are treated with equal care and attention. Everyone deserves a great dining experience, especially when they come in with open hearts and empty stomachs. Hopefully, in the future, all guests will be treated with the same care, no matter where they live. Oy.

    Special order mojito

We came here for a family celebration and it was perfect! The food and drinks were delicious, and our waitress was kind enough to ask the bartender to specially make me a mojito, despite it not being on the menu. I ordered their special which was a purse pasta, stuffed with ricotta, and shrimp. It was so flavorful, light and fresh. We had a large party and everyone ordered a range from steaks to pork chops to fish and even chicken fingers for the kids. Everyone was happy and had leftovers. Prior to dinner we shared a variety of apps with the fresh mozzarella being our favorite. The backdrop of the beach with a playground made this a great way for the kids to burn off some energy and me a chance to be a kid again!

My first time here - there's extreme security in Breezy so you need to drive thru a manned gate to get to the parking lot. Outdoor eating when weather permits. Music a few times a week. The apple walnut spinach salad was perfect. Dressing on the side Rolls are placed on the table We both had prime rib - mine was rare and totally amazing. Perfectly cooked. Grilled asparagus and whipped sweet potatoes. All just perfection. Pistachio tartuffo with a delectable raspberry center Nice selection of drinks and beer - bottled and tapped Clean bathroom Great service. I'd go back in a second

Be sure to make reservations! We had a table in the side enclosed by glass windows. It was beautiful! We had the view of Coney Island and saw their fireworks! The service was on point and the food was delicious!

Great food, even better service! We were sat within a few min of our reservation, and immediately greeted for drinks. Ordered the Burrata cheese, coconut shrimp, calamari, and clam appetizers. Had the Sea Bass for dinner. All great! The servers/bussers were kind and attentive and the views were great. Awesome experience!!

    Cream brûlée

The best cream brûlée I ever had ! Delicious appetizers and main course. Wonderful staff and spectacular views.

Amazing ambiance! This restaurant was a great hit on Father's Day for my whole family. The outside seating is right on the beach and you can let your toddler run around on the sand or there is a playground nearby which is awesome. The food is good, not necessarily Michelin quality, but overall solid American fare. Service is wonderful and they are very accommodating. I love it here!

Sound suppressors have been installed and they help temper the noise. The limited wine list is well priced but unfortunately they were out of one of the two chardonnays (Bonanza) on the list. I ordered the other Chardonnay which was double the cost of the Bonanza (but still fairly priced for the quality) and it did not come out for 15 minutes. I alerted the waitress who stated that she was getting ice for it. The wine finally came with two chilled wine glasses (wrong) and it was warm. Strike two on the wine. Someone is not checking inventory. We got there as it opened at five. No excuse for not having a listed wine and then serving a warm $65 dollar bottle. Each plate of food was delivered in a staggered delivery about five to ten minutes apart. Food should come out at the same time to all customers. That's probably on the chef with the mercurial temperament. That being said; the food was very good. The chef can really cook but get there soon because he might not be there long. Four televisions the dining room is unnecessary and very distracting. Turn them off during service. I plan on going back for the good food but will bring my own wine. I got three different answers when I asked about a corkage fee; so I don't know what the corkage fee is. The owners are new and need time to adjust to the place. I see the place improving as the kinks are worked out.

From what I've heard, it usually gets packed during peak sports seasons--but we happened to hit a lull (post-football, pre-baseball, and no major games on), so we basically had the place to ourselves. I went with the sangria, which was refreshing and well-balanced. Instead of ordering full entrees, we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. Everything that came out looked great, and everyone in the group seemed really happy with the flavors. As someone with a gluten allergy, though, I was pretty limited in what I could order. The ribs ended up being one of my only real options--but thankfully, they were tender, flavorful, and definitely the standout for me. Still, I do wish there were more gluten-free choices, especially since we were there to celebrate and share food. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was that we felt a bit rushed toward the end of the meal. We didn't even get the chance to order a birthday dessert, which was disappointing given the occasion, but seeing since it was only our group there I'm sure they were ready to close and go home. It was winter when we visited, but I can see this being a great spot in warmer months--the outdoor seating looks like it would really add to the experience. Parking was easy on a Sunday night, and they do have a lot, but make sure to read the signs carefully since some spots are reserved for the theater next door. Overall it has a great vibe, solid drinks, and food that people clearly enjoy--I just wish there were more gluten-free options so I didn't leave still a little hungry.

They said that the portion sizes were not smaller because of the $65 price fix option. If you ordered the salads à la carte they arranged from $19-$22 I believe. Had I did the à la cart and received that portion for that much money I would be disappointed to say the least; my wife and I often share a salad before entrées and generally speaking they are big enough to share but their portion wasn't enough for me alone. Our server was Evelyn, and she was so sweet and she helped us when we were trying to decide between two desserts and three appetizers. We ordered: - Spring Salad (5/5) this tasted so good with the fresh mango, the snap peas, and the carrot ginger dressing. - Faroe Islands Salmon (5/5) I only tasted the rice, and not the salmon itself, but the rice was so good, and I just kept on stealing more from the plate. - Roasted-Half Chicken (4/5) This was my own entrée, and I loved how the chicken was crispy, and I also really liked the garlic mashed potatoes, but the only thing that I did not think worked well with the dish was the swiss chard. I think it would've tasted better with spinach. - Strawberry Cheesecake (4/5) this was surprisingly very light for a cheesecake, we ended up finishing all of it, and the whipped cream was really good. I wish it came with chips rather than toasted pita because it was a little too heavy -French dip: this wasn't good. The steak was fatty and tasted reheated. Also I substituted truffle fries and they were way too salty. The overall restaurant was nice, but I wouldn't get the French dip.
