Came here for a birthday party last night and honestly was not impressed. Service was sub par, food was sub par, drinks were sub par. We were a big party so there was a lot of food that was had. I'll try to break it down from what I can remember. Bread basket - stale bread and not sure if the butter was actual butter because it didn't taste it Locally-farmed beet and mesclun greens, goat cheese salad with candied walnuts 5/5 - this was really good Jumbo coconut shrimp 2/5 - the shrimp were huge and I was excited to try it cause it's one of my favorite dishes but they had a weird taste to them and the sauces that came with didn't compliment them too well, I've had better tasting coconut shrimp in red lobster lol Burrata 5/5 - the burrata was fresh and delicious Fried calamari 2/5 - had a few pieces and the last piece I had was chewy and wet and I ended up spitting it out cause it creeped me out Jumbo lump crab cake 3/5 - it was alright Tuna tartare 5/5 - I think this was my favorite app, it was delicious Pan seared diver scallops, creamy shrimp & chorizo risotto 1/5 - first of all didn't see any chorizo in the risotto but that's whatever, IT WAS SO SALTY!! I couldn't eat more than one bite. Fresh oysters 5/5 - delicious and fresh, probably the best thing that was served Filet minion 1/5 - once again SO SALTY! ate a few bites and took the rest home to give to my dog after I washed the salt off because just inedible. He enjoyed it at least lol. The roasted potatoes that came with it were delicious though. Chicken tenders with fries (kids meal) 5/5 - I didn't try it but my son loved it and ate almost the whole plate Pomegranate martini 2/5- the first one they brought over was straight up vodka did not taste anything else but I was just slowly sipping on it because it was very strong. The waitress came up to me and asked if the drink was ok and I said it's a little strong but it's ok, she asked if I would like it remade not so strong and I said sure. She took it away brought another one that just tasted like straight up pomegranate, no alcohol. I didn't want to bother her especially since I didn't even mention it being strong to begin with, she asked herself, so I drank it and had two more and I'm pretty sure there was no alcohol in them period so that was annoying. White Russian 1/5 - got a White Russian as a dessert drink and it had no taste at all, how is that even possible for a White Russian?! Margarita 1/5 - tried my mom's margarita, it was very watered down and tasted like margarita mix, no tequila to be felt. Crème brûlée 3/5 - not the best I've had, not the worst. Brownie 1/5 - the brownie comes "à la mode" but I asked for no ice cream because it was for my son and he had a bit of a cough. They brought it out with ice cream, I sent it back and it took forever to get the one without ice cream, I thought they forgot honestly. My kid liked it but he's 5 and it's chocolate lol but I tried it and it was honestly horrible. Tasted freezer burned, was dry as all heck and the middle was rock hard. For how much this place is talked up, it's definitely not worth the hype or the price. Not a place I'll be back to unless it's an invite for a family birthday again. read more

Back in the great town of Breezy point since a few years removed, before Hurricane Sandy and after I sold my Harley. Perhaps that's a sign of the times as I am always looking for hidden messages and I like to combine them with metaphors - I enjoy the search. Not in an out with the old and in with the new way, more of a this happened this way for a reason kind of way. Good or bad - there is typically a lesson to be had if we are able to see it. Its a big day for the my girlfriend whom I am actively working on becoming my doomer girlfriend. She always upbeat and positive and I just don't understand it, (anthrax, nukes, job reports, crime) but I respect it tremendously. Well, she just landed a new position and she is moving on in other aspects of her life, she has quickly come roaring back into color before my very eyes. The hidden message here is one of building a new home after an environmental storm at Breezy, too build a new life after a life of weathering personal storms and challenges, awaiting the still and the calm - being prepared for another assault all while building something unbreakable. And its certainly not just her, its in large part, me too. Lets get on to the food. A simple concept - fresh fish and chops prepared with love and respect for the fine folks that populate the surroundings of the bay. I do not consider Time Square or Rockefeller prime real estate, I do however consider this charming little spot where you can hear the children play in the dunes, between the neighbors prime plus. The Specials were beautifully stated by our waiter - I wanted to hear him twice and he did. Not confusing and not pretentious, prices and coruscation counts given up front, no guessing required - no jacket required either as I sported my Star Spangled shorts. Linguine flavored with chives, parsley extra garlic all balanced in a buttery white wine clam sauce. Light and flavorful, I tasted each shrimp, clam and mussel individually and completely. But before that three outstanding appetizers all with amazing sauces and dressings appeared. Lightly candied walnuts, fresh cranberries upon warm little delicate pockets of goat cheese with chilled green and robust light crisp leaves. My lady's Swordfish was top quality cooked to absolute perfection, a medium cook temp - light and flakey which reminds me of the Crab Cake as I wander back and forth from appetizer to entrees. I could smell the real crab as it was set upon the table - like the ones I caught here on the docks with killies (bait fish) in 1985. That salty and beautiful briny subtle kiss of the ocean. Decided to take a ride to Breezy Point for an early evening meal and decided on Kennedys. While we didn't have a reservation they were very accommodating and fullfilled our request for outdoor dining. As soon as we sat down I could tell this had the hallmarks for a special event. The restaurant is white table cloth, and immaculate and you can tell they run a tight ship. It immediately gives off the energy of a great meal. The service was impeccable and attentive and the food was fabulous. We decided on the beet goat cheese walnut salad, crab cake and the calamari special as appetizer. I don't think I've ever had a salad that large in a restaurant of this caliber. What really surprised me is that the salad was cold and crisp. When was the last time you went to a place that paid that much attention? The greens were fresh and the goat cheese was the perfect amount so as to just add a little extra touch and not be overkill like some places which glob it on. The crab cake was real and not the imitation disaster you find and had the perfect amount of crisp to it. It didn't fall apart but just held nicely together as if it was divinely inspired. It was accompanied by a sweet corn that was a surprise and a pleasant one at that but the winner hands down was the calamari. I don't know what kind of magic oil they cooked it in but it was perfect, light and airy and breaded to perfection. Fresh calamari, mind you, not the frozen stuff you get at Italian joints looking to stuff you with grease and rubber. As for the main courses, I ordered the swordfish and even though it said blackened there was not one spot that was overcooked. It was light and crispy and fresh and I see why it was a highly requested special. Served with mashed and green beans , the sides were just as well done as the main attraction. And the proton sizes were beyond generous. As for his meal, it was a seafood medley with of linguine mussels shrimp and clams in a delicate wine sauce that even he couldn't finish. We left fully satisfied and pleased to find a new favorite spot. And nothing beats a nice beach walk after dinner to enjoy the sunset with a special someone. Definitely going back again! read more

Rating: 3.5 Stars due to the waiter Warning if you're not a " resident" then put on your patience cap. My friend has family that lives out here by the restaurant. They are a generation after generation, a family of fireman-firefighters. She was away for Labor Day and always tells me if you want to go to this section to let her know so she and her family would accompany us because their residence. However, I certainly did not think that I needed her and her family to go to a restaurant to eat. It's not like we were buying a house. It was just food. Oh boy, was I wrong. We were excited to try this spot, especially since a friend with deep local ties had recommended it. At first, everything was great -- we were seated quickly, greeted warmly, and served water and bread right away. It felt like five-star service! But once a large group of 18-19 people arrived (who were the locals-residence), the attention shifted completely. Our waiter was kind and did his best, but we waited over 40 minutes for our food, which arrived lukewarm and was just okay. It was clear the kitchen prioritized the big group, and we felt overlooked. It was disappointing to feel overlooked simply because we weren't "residents" or part of a local group. The decor and views were beautiful, and again -- our server was doing his best. But once again, it's disappointing to feel like being a "non-resident" meant second-tier service. I hope in the future all guests -- whether locals or visitors -- are treated with equal care and attention. Everyone deserves a great dining experience, especially when they come in with open hearts and empty stomachs. WE three ladies were at Kennedy's last night to celebrate my aunt's 101st birthday. The staff was friendly and personable and obliged our requests for an off the menu burger and a lovely chocolate cake surprise. The food and drinks were delicious, and our waitress was kind enough to ask the bartender to specially make me a mojito, despite it not being on the menu. I ordered their special which was a purse pasta, stuffed with ricotta, and shrimp. It was so flavorful, light and fresh. We had a large party and everyone ordered a range from steaks to pork chops to fish and even chicken fingers for the kids. Everyone was happy and had leftovers. Prior to dinner we shared a variety of apps with the fresh mozzarella being our favorite. Great location and available parking. The twilight view of Manhattan is magnificent. The cocktail menu is short but not limited to all the choices available; the cocktails are moderately priced and the service is fantastic. The waiter staff is polite, concerned and patient. It has a nice variety for the fixed menu with delicious daily specials - whose prices are stated with the "specials" so they come as no surprise later (nice touch). One of my favorites - that is usually reserved for bar dinners - is their Thai salad which is a slightly spicy combination of arugula, almonds and fried calamari. Amazing ambiance! This restaurant was a great hit on Father's Day for my whole family. The outside seating is right on the beach and you can let your toddler run around on the sand or there is a playground nearby which is awesome. I wouldn't go here on a big holiday like Mother's Day, Easter, etc. since their prefix menus are limited and food is not as good, but regular dining experiences they are great! Decor and atmosphere were formally tastefully done and fit right in either the beach ambiance. Service was quick and attentive. Drinks were very good. I have been going to Kennedy's restaurant since I'm young boy. I'm 55 now and still love it. It was always a special treat to go with my parents. It's located in the Breezy point section of Bayside right on the beach where you can either sit inside in an air conditioned beautiful atmosphere or enjoy an outdoor table right on the beach and enjoy the namesake breezes of Breezy point while you dine. The waiting Staff is friendly fast and knowledgeable of all the daily food from steaks & chicken entrees to fresh seafood and the catch of the day. Always beautiful placing tied into your surroundings. Very special dining experience but make sure you call days in advance because it is so popular that the reservations fill up fast. There is a lunchtime dining and they close couple of hours until dinner hours. But if you're hungry after a day in the Rockaway's or at Riis Park Beach , make a reservation and I highly recommend Kennedy's beautiful beach restaurant, one of my longtime favorite nostalgic places to go especially with family and friends. read more

3.5 stars review. I went for the Sunday Jazz Bufffet Brunch. Its $32 with one alcohol drink and coffee or tea. It is the usual buffet fare with a omelet station, a carving station and waffle station. They also have a couple pastas, chicken pot pie, French toast, crepes, frittata, shrimp cocktail, a salad, bagels and lox. Desert is cookies, fruit and yoga parfait. Excellent food! Excellent service! We had a Birthday celebration and we're looking forward to outdoor seating according to our reservation. Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative, and the Restaurant called to see if we would be open to indoor seating. This already was a good sign to us, as they wanted to confirm that indoor seating was ok, as we had some guests that were concerned due to their Heath conditions. They made very effort to put us in a separated area, and went beyond our expectations! Our server was an absolute professional, and was extremely attentive from the beginning of our seating. Throughout the evening she always made herself available, and stopped by our area frequently, to see if we needed anything. In my opinion Francesca made every effort to assure we had a great experience! Even though one of our guests arrived just as the Kitchen was closing, she offered us a few pasta choices which the kitchen was ready to prepare! Guests, loved the food, the Branzini was a big hit, so was the Chilean sea Bass, the Fillet Mingion, and the fried Calamari! All served with a choice of potato and asparagus on the plate. We had plenty to drink and eat, and enjoyed our evening! Yes we would return again, and hopefully be served by Fransesca again, although the entire staff at Kennedy's was top notch. Whatever you do, try to avoid that tomahawk steak, we asked for it to be cooked medium. It was bloody rare. They took a few pieces of the steak, at least five slices to cook them little bit longer, but after that, it was all rubbery. So try to avoid that tomahawk read more

I made a reservation last week and called today to confirm. Drove from Brooklyn only to be told that parking was for residents only. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. I drove back to Brooklyn very upset at the deplorable treatment. Next time, please tell your patrons that only Breezy Point customers could park there. Terrible read more

i go to Kennedy's because it provides a view of the bay beach at sunset and is a step up from other eateries in Rockaway. It is off- putting to have to stop at the guard house at the entrance to Breezy Point where you are given paper tickets recording the time you arrived, that you are going to be at Kennedy's, and will be arrested if you go on the beach where you are not allowed. You are also given a token which you must insert into the machine at the entry to Kennedy's in order to raise the metal arm blocking the entrance to the parking lot. i am sure none of this bothers the residents of Breezy as it reflects their generations long efforts to keep outsiders out. The woman( she demonstrated no service skills of a wait person) who recited the specials from her list did not introduce herself, made no eye contact, no chit chat, no warmth. Her one brief stop by our table to inquire if everything was ok was on the fly. When we left she was busy at a counter we passed, Her "good night" was not even accompanied by a head turn. This has not always been my experience with the wait staff there, the few other times i have gone. But last night really drove home the Breezy Point point.....outsiders stay out. read more
