    Mango banana smoothie
    Paula L.

Convenient, good/healthy product and nice staff. I got the split pea hummus on a beautiful piece of toast and a banana mango smoothie made with oat milk. Delicious! Cost for this was $17 & that's expensive for one piece of toast with a fancy smear. However, I'd get it again next time I'm at the beach. It was yummy.

Not enough good things to say about this place, which is bringing so much to the community and Rockaway Beach scene by slinging, healthy, vegan-friendly options on the boardwalk. The staff is super friendly and amazing. The food is fresh and delicious, and service is wonderful. I look forward to every visit!

Buyer beware: in an effort to reduce plastic you will not get a lid or straw with your drink order. Honestly, I didn't mind although it was difficult to maneuver an iced drink without spilling it. This place is a convenient boardwalk pit stop and I can see why since one would have to walk (or shuttle?) more than 20 blocks for all the eateries. My friend and I took the glorious ferry ride to the beach today and we stayed in the 108 Street vicinity but not without getting a beverage at Brothers. I went with an iced Lavendar chamomile tea (caffeine free), while my friend selected a plain cup of hot joe. Didn't try anything else but they serve food (different line) as well as baked goods. Hey, it worked for us and no complaints.

Hanging out @ Rockaway Beach and in need of a meal or snack or refreshing drink? Let the friendly staff @ Brothers Rockaway quench your thirst/hunger. My recommendations: _ EGG SANDWICH ($9) = Eggs were a bit runny but sprouts & pesto were delish! Made fresh per order; they use organic eggs. _ Mango Cashew Basil Smoothie ($10) = Tasty and fresh! Basil with mango, whodathunk it? Highly recommended, will return.

This place is so tiny that you might miss it. It is on the side of Caracas Rockaway with a small sign. It was a warm summer day and I needed a nice cool drink. I got a Chai gear smoothie, it was sweetened by dates. Delicious! Nice and thick! They offer sandwiches and limited offerings for breakfast. Great service! It's decently priced as well.

Great morning breakfast on the boardwalk!! With extremely limited vegan options in the area, this place is heaven sent! The almond butter toast is amazing! Looking forward to try the granola with cashew milk soon. My mom also got the pesto egg sandwich which was delicious, she loved it!

Fresh healthy food on the Rockaway boardwalk from guys who know their hospitality !

If you're anywhere near Beach 92, a stop at Bungalow Bar is non‑negotiable. For context, it's about a 16‑minute walk from Sayra's, which felt surprisingly long in the heat after we'd already logged a ton of steps. Lyft quickly became the obvious choice. I called ahead because I'd read about long waits for outdoor seating. At 3:30 PM, we lucked out and were seated right away with a gorgeous water view. I can only imagine how competitive those tables get at sunset. The place was buzzing when we arrived -- multiple dining areas, a packed patio, and that lively beach‑day energy. We snagged a table right at the edge, which felt perfect. Everything about the experience hit the right notes. The menu was fun, the vibe was relaxed, and even though the staff was clearly busy, service stayed sharp. I started with the Spicy Watermelon cocktail -- Absolut Tabasco Vodka, watermelon juice, simple syrup, lime -- and it was phenomenal. The other drink was the Bungalow Hugo, essentially a Hugo Spritz--made with Gin and Elderflower Prosecco. For appetizers, we shared the crabcakes (two) and guacamole with chips. The crabcakes could've used a bit more lump crabmeat, but both starters were enjoyable. The guacamole was especially good -- fresh, bright, and paired with ultra‑thin tri‑color chips. For mains, we were craving lobster and ordered the broiled option. We had originally chosen the option topped with crabmeat, but a kitchen mix‑up meant ours arrived plain. We didn't bother sending it back and dove right in. The lobster was about a pound, sweet and well‑cooked, served with hybrid yellow/white corn and a baked potato. Even broiled, a side of melted butter was waiting -- essential. Overall, the experience was memorable: above‑average food, genuinely great drinks, and a view that's hard to beat. Add this to your must‑go list the next time you're in Rockaway.

There is a parking lot past the restaurant because you'll see there isn't much street parking near the establishment. The space itself is stunning big windows everywhere that let in the most gorgeous natural light, high ceilings, and beautiful decor throughout. It feels open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's also a live singer who performs on weekends and is absolutely wonderful, which adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. One of my favorite details was the pasta station just behind the bar where you can watch them making fresh pasta from scratch, such a cool experience. Service was great, and our waitress was very patient with all of our questions. Now the food... even better. I had the eggs Benedict, and it definitely did not disappoint. We also tried the crispy calamari, which was fried to perfection, and the meatballs both were delicious. If this was just a sneak peek of what their dinner menu is like, I already know it won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back!

Two of them were clearly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace them, and she called the owner over. I explained that I had gotten sick from eating a bad oyster before and was concerned about the freshness. He took the tray away and said, "Then you shouldn't order oysters." That response was rude and unprofessional. At that point, I should have canceled the rest of my order. We also ordered two pasta dishes. The Squid Ink Linguine was just okay--nothing memorable. The Spicy Sausage Gramigna was disappointing because it was supposed to include broccoli rabe, but there wasn't any in the dish. Overall, the poor quality of the oysters and the owner's dismissive attitude made for a very disappointing dining experience.

Staff were super nice and tried their best despite the situation. Tickets were $65 per person and the advertisement promised unlimited oysters and Heineken silvers from 3-5 pm (while supplies last). For the price, a reasonable person would expect as many oysters as they can eat plus flowing beers. It quickly became apparent that was untrue. Three oysters were served every 10-20 minutes. Only one type of oyster (Blue Island, the sponsor). The shuckers were working hard but the management tried to stretch their supply of oysters as much as possible to have people eat as few oysters as possible in the two hours. I counted the oysters I got in the entire agonizing two hours- 24 oysters and 6 clams. Why clams? They ran out of oysters and someone brought in a bag of clams to fill the last half hour. Mind you, most of the oysters served were tiny, skinny, and sometimes full of shell shards. Beers ran towards the end too. 24 oysters for $65 and a two hour wait.... We ended up ordering the Roadhouse nachos but the brisket looks fantastic. The brisket in the nachos was good but probably won't recommend because the nachos were very bean dominated. tl;dr don't trust them with food events. Pros: nice staff, nice bathrooms and sinks, nice bar atmosphere, brisket looks and tastes good, oysters tasted good, cocktail sauce was yummy Cons: oyster fest was a scam and total waste of both money and time, you were served three skinny oysters every 15 minutes, not "unlimited" as advertised. Previous oyster fests allowed customers to freely get oysters. The angry male staff member with a baseball cap went around grumpily telling people to sit down when they were trying to order from the bar or take pictures of the oysters.

The location is fantastic, a 5 minute walk the beach. The inside is nice and has ample seating with Wi-Fi and outlets. The bad--each time I have gone, there's always something going on with the staff. There is one regular worker in particular who I've witnessed: - Turn away customers who want a smoothie or juice because "the blender is already cleaned", a full hour or two before closing - Complain loudly about people coming from the beach and bringing sand inside (as my group is walking in from the beach) - Go on a prejudiced rant about LGBT+ people, loud enough for the entire cafe to hear - Go around and tell customers that the cafe is closing soon, an hour before closing. One time she mentioned it several times to me until I felt pressured to leave at 2:30pm, and she closed the cafe as I left (they are supposed to be open until 3pm) I'll continue going to Rockaway Roasters anytime I'm at the beach and craving their nitro cold brew, but probably only to-go. And not too close to closing time.
