Calligaris is a very well known quality furniture brand in Italy and I admit to being super thrilled when I stumbled upon this store! The owner Warren is very nice and has great taste. The store has a very wide selection of the most popular styles and the prices are slightly higher than in Italy, considering the fact that this is a premium furniture designer it is still very affordable. We recently purchased a set of bedroom furniture and had a great experience. The set arrived within 2 months as we were told upon placing the order and we were able to get a delivery on a Saturday (an additional fee, since this store partners up with an independent delivery service!). Abel followed up with us on the status of the order and answered all our questions immediately. I will definitely purchase from this store again when I start a new home project. read more

I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews on companies/shops, but I felt this store was worthy of one. Prospective shoppers should be aware of this place. A couple of years ago, I bought a couple pieces of furniture from Pomp and after being overseas for a couple of years recently returned to LA and decided to return to this shop. Today, I visited the store and was never greeted or asked whether or not I needed any assistance. The person that worked at this store never said, a word to me and my family during our visit at the store. Not to mention, they are still carrying some of the same old furniture and art pieces from at least 5-7 years ago, from when I last visited. I wouldn't buy anything from this store/owner due to lack of customer service and outdated inventory. West Hollywood has better finds in italian furniture pieces. If you buy anything from this store, just hope and pray that you don't have any issues with delivery or damaged items or god forbid, a return. If you do, brace yourself for the worst customer service imaginable. We bought a floor model dining room table and two new chairs. The table that was delivered a month later, however, was not the same table that we had purchased. The table that arrived was dinged on the side and extremely wobbly, two defects which were definitely not part of the table we purchased off the floor. When we went back to the store to discuss the situation the sales person, Warren, was immediately defensive and things devolved from there. "You're really pissing me off" is not something you expect to hear from a sale person when you have a legitimate complaint. While he eventually agreed to return our money and pay for the shipping both ways, the "conversation" ended with him demanding we leave the store and literally, physically shoving my wife toward to the door of store. Pomp is a modern furniture store in downtown Culver City (similar to the stores you would see on Beverly or La Brea around the WeHo area). +Has a pretty good mix of designers / brands like Gus Modern, Inhabit, Pablo, Eva Solo, Chilewich (overpriced & limited selection though) +Easier parking than the stores in WeHo +Actually has stuff in stock! I was surprised that they had a shag rug I wanted in stock (and I was able to take it home that day) +/- Not their fault, but it bugs me that these modern designer brands always sell for MSRP -The person who was working at the store when I bought my rug was kind of rude and not that helpful. He was also a little pushy (but I was sick of looking for a rug so I just ignored how much he was getting on my nerves) I gave 3 stars cuz they had what I wanted and it's convenient for me, but I don't think they would be my first choice to go for my next pieces of furniture just cuz of the sales guy. read more

It's been almost a year since we bought our table from Pomp Home. We live in Hawaii, but Pomp Home has supported us as if we lived next door. Able has spent several phone calls with us to work through a couple of operational issues the table developed as we used it. Once again, the Caligaris table works beautifully. I can't say enough kind words about the patient and complete support we have received. Thank you Abel and Warren! After almost a year with the Calagaris table, I love it more than ever. It is at 6-person size most the time. With one self-storing leaf it sits 8, with 2 it seats 10 easily, or 12 if they're friendly. This compact shop provides easy access to the full range of Calligaris products. Retail options are comparatively limited in PS and we were dreading the drive to Costa Mesa to see in person the Calligaris table we were considering. Pomp Home was on our way to another destination, and we decided to drop in even though we figured it was "too small" to be useful. Boy were we wrong! The owner Warren was absolutely wonderful at walking us through the options for our dining room table and discussing the pros and cons of various materials as well as the chairs I was considering to go with the table. We looked through the sample materials and discovered an even better solution to our dining room than I'd realized just looking at the Calligaris website. After ordering our table and chairs I went back the following week to order a credenza. The table and chairs were "Quick Ship" which means we had them in a mere seven weeks - fast turn-arouund for Italian products - and the credenza will take a bit longer. Delivery and set-up was easy and the set looks wonderful. Warren is an absolute delight! I could talk to him for hours. He knows Calligaris inside out and is knowledgeable about other manufacturer's products. Plus he's just an all around great guy. Save yourself a trip out of town and visit Pomp Home. read more

Good selection of designer modern furniture at OK price. Arrogant, unhelpful sales staff. Comparable to Buttercup down the road in quality. I bought a small Katrell dining room table for $1000, cheaper than from a web. Parking in the back . Warren was my sales person and he wasn't too helpful or friendly on the day of the purchase. Another sales person had given a $35 cheaper quote for the same table to my friend the weekend before, but when I inquired about that and he just denied it and brushed it off like I was lying. Pissed me off, so I decided not to purchase 4 chairs that I had planned to buy. (loss of $1400 for being so arrogant and self righteous!). Also their phone manner can be little better -- as I heard him speak to another customer who was waiting for delivery. Wonder if he realizes that we customers pay for his livelihood. Hmm. Need better management there. The price was still cheaper than getting the same table on the web, and selection of modern pieces show good taste. With better sales people, this store could do much better business. Expect no white glove treatment for a thousand dollar purchases then you'll be okay. read more

This is a fine furniture store with mid century modern and Hollywood regency furnishings. The quality is very good. I love the shell chairs with brass legs. It has been difficult to find contemporary accents with gold and brass instead of chrome. They had a wall of dining and occasional chairs with many options. I really appreciated the selection. Definite worth the visit. It is also close to other vintage and midcentury design stores so you can park nearby for several hours and walk around the famous Palm Springs Uptown Design district. I will definitely be back to explore more. read more

After looking around the King of Prussia area, we were happy to find a pair of floor model dining room chairs from the King of Prussia location, for a great price and the chairs looked like they were brand new. Kristyn, the sales representative was really helpful and patient, taking the time to go through the entire inventory with us to help us consider different options, and we never felt any pressure to buy. While we wish they had had four chairs (they were the last two in the entire online inventory), the model's style and comfort was too hard to pass up. read more

I purchased a Calligaris buffet/credenza from Warren a couple of years ago. Everything went smoothly, from purchase to delivery. Unfortunately, when the unit was unpacked in my home, there was obvious that it had been damaged in transit. Abel explained that they are unable to open containers until delivered to their final destination, so inspection is at the buyers' home. He promptly repacked it and returned it to the store. Weeks later, our replacement arrived. It's beautiful and functional. We love it! We would definitely return when seeking related items. Excellent service, quality products. read more

Read comments about rude salesperson - apparently he is no longer with the company - what a relief!!! I have always found the sales person, Warren, to be so helpful. As a Decorator, I can tell you I recommend Pomp a lot. They occupy a unique place in the market for people who love clean, well made modern furniture-and design-and don't have access to a limitless budget. The owner has great, classic taste and knows his stuff. They carry Calligaris, Eilersen, Jesse, and others, really nice exclusives that are great European lines, not bad knockoffs of same. When it came time for me to replace my sofa, I went right to Warren. He is always helpful and low key. He has knowledgable access to items from very budget friendly to dream budget. I don't know what to make of some of the unhelpful reviews here, I can only imagine that there are hundreds of happy customers for every grouchy naysayer.
