J Crew I haven't been to this particular location before but one of my favorite stores. So after…read morelunch across the street my hubby let me run in quickly as we were in a tight schedule. Well the good news I know my size so this will go quick. As I haven't shopped in awhile and live in the land that Summer is essentially year round I obviously spent a little more time finding what I needed. Found a nice dress for my Mom. Classic lightweight denim with two pockets on the front she will love. Now for me a great white blouse with puffy sleeves I love it as I had seen it in their catalog earlier this year. A classic pair of khaki lightweight pants and a green and white gingham skirt. Also I got a lavender necklace that was drastically reduced. When I got to the register I was sad to see not too much in the way of sales. Also the clerk was not to willing to give up the discount card that you get after you purchase. It needs to get stamped now two more times to get 20 percent off. Geez J Crew what happened to you I gotta really work to get a break here.

The manager was incredibly rude. I needed to exchange a pair of boots for a size that fit and she…read moremade it seem like the most strenuous chore she has ever faced. She was rude, short, and seemed to be annoyed with my presence. I then decided to shop around the store and asked another employee if she could look for a pair of shoes in my size out back and after about 10 minutes I started looking around for her and found that she was talking with friends/off the clock employees. And to top it off the store was messy and dirty. The amount of dust bunnies on the floor was repulsive. Obviously the staff does not care about any type of professional appearance. I love J. Crew but that store needs to be gutted and restaffed with people who actually care about customers, their time, and their money.

I have a confession to make: I am an adult woman, and I hate clothes shopping. I hate it. Whenever…read moreI go to department stores or big box stores or frankly 90% of stores that claim to sell women's clothing, I'm disappointed. I'm a big girl--not so much "wide" big (although I could stand to lose some weight), but Russian peasant "built like a brick shithouse" big. Hence, I've learned to associate clothes shopping with disappointment. Even if someone does have clothing in my size, even if we're talking the more expensive stores, most women's clothing is designed with a skinny 15-year-old girl with a delicate frame in mind. When they size that crap up, yeah, it fits me, but I come out of the dressing room looking like Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, when he lands in the body of some poor schmuck with a pair of tits. Or worse--the designers know that particular frock's not going to cut a good shape on a girl who actually resembles the national average, so they add ruffles or pink leopard print or not-particularly-well-thought-out decorative buttons. Hazel Boutique quite literally changed my mindset about clothes shopping. Here's why: The styles are classically stylish AND they work for someone my age (late 20s). And the stuff they carry fits me, how I carry myself, and how I see myself. They have shirts with roomy shoulders that still remind folks that you're not a lumberjack. They have dresses that are roomy on the bottom and say "Hey, check out this girl's awesome childbearing hips!" rather than the usual "OMG, let's pretend these hips don't exist, and maybe we can pass for normal." The clothing is decorated in its construction more than with baubles added on to dazzle. And it's designed with an eye toward showcasing your figure rather than using you as a vehicle for whatever fashion trend some twit in NYC thinks is the latest and greatest. Yes, it's expensive. But I actually wear the nice clothes I get there. And I enjoy wearing them.

Just everything. From their wish lists, to their selection. Never really looking for anything…read moreand always find plenty. Terrific customer service makes it extra special.
