After I called the surf shop to advise them that there was no instructor at the meeting location, I was told who we were supposed to have as an instructor apparently "had a mixup in his schedule" is what the young lady said when calling. This isn't the first time this has happened. When we did this last year same situation of a schedule mixup. The young gentleman at the shop where you pick up your wetsuits are very pleasant and helpful. I was later called by one of the managers to let me know that they were refunding for the full cost of the lesson and that we would still get our lesson. They said they were refunding to apologize for the inconvenience of waiting over 30 minutes past our lesson time for an instructor to arrive.

My husband and I both got fitted, his are great and for two years I've been trying to "break them in". The cramping I'm getting is extremely painful! I went to a local boot fitter to see if they could help since Hampton NH is far for me. This fitter is extremely experienced and fitted the world cup team back when he introduced Mikaela Shiffrin to her first sponsor. So he knows his stuff in other words. One look at my foot and calf and his words that this is not the stype of set up for me. The strolz foam filled boot is for someone with thin legs, high arch and thin calves - thats my husband, I'm the opposite. He removed the custom lining put in a stock lining left over from another off the shelf boot (Free of charge) and now my cramping is gone. I'm left with a partial plastic boot holding the stock insert since the bulk of this boot is really the foam filled insert. According to this boot fitter, my foot arch and calf combined do not make me a candidate for this type of custom boot fit. During the process at Strolz it was hard for the fitter to find something that worked with my calf and at that point my feeling was that I should give up but he pushed on that he would make it work. I wish I listented to my gut and just stopped the process right there. I'm sick to my stomach that we paid so much for custom boots that I cannot even use. Trying to reach strolz to get a refund for these "lifetime" boots that are uselss to me now. I hope to hear from someone there soon!

The shop decides to put the skates we are buying in the back of a huge line of skates and make us sit around for an hour. Of course they didn't tell us what they were doing, they just made us wait. Then when I asked to speak to a manager about my displeasure of wasting an hour of my time, a kid named Rob told me the "managers were too busy to speak with me." What do you think? Two young employees in the shoe department were focused on restocking; after fifteen minutes of waiting, I asked one of them for assistance. The two young employees avoided eye contact and the one I asked for help from told me the other employee would help me - I waited another ten minutes and neither stopped restocking to help me. I was planning on buying at least two expensive pairs of shoes for the upcoming school year - but alas, I'll be looking elsewhere. Not sure if the pressure to restock is so great from higher-ups or if the two young workers were simply avoiding working with customers. Either way, I will NEVER be back in this Dick's as there is clearly something wrong in this location. Looking at the other Yelp reviews, I'm not the only one with a bad shoe department experience. What a shame.
