I originally order my fridge through Costco who got in touch with the manufacturer who assigned these people to fix the fridge. Not only did it take them over 2 weeks to call me to schedule the repair but they also didn't show up to their first appointment. I had to call them to be told they were not showing up on that day at all. I cannot speak of their work because I am waiting to see if they show up to their second appointment. Based off the other reviews, this seems to be a reoccurring issue which is fine if you can sit around and wait for them all day. Even for the people who mysteriously gave them 5 stars, they had multiple no shows and/or showing up not at the agreed time. If I had the choice I would never work with this company again. They obviously are unprofessional and do not care about the work they provide or their customers. Given the complete lack of ability to show up to their own appointments, I doubt the quality of their work being anything more than a half hearted attempt. read more

If you read Celina's review mine is about the same. They made the first appointment but not at the time we set up. I had to drive home from the office to meet Richard 2 hours early. The repair needed parts he did not have so we scheduled it for 2 days later after giving him a $75 deposit. A no show for the next appointment. I had to call in to find out what was going on. Bob said there was q death in the repairman's family and that Preston would be out in 2 hours. Preston, the owner called to confirm and then never showed. When I called again, Bob said that Preston told him he did show up and that a woman told him it was under warranty and did not need service. WTF! I was they only one home and Preston never arrived. These guys are excuse pros but they sure don't know how to keep an appointment. Don't waste your day like I did! Why is there no review rating with no stars?? read more

My Viking fridge is under extended warranty (we bought it from the retailer at the time of original purchase thank goodness) and this was the 2nd appliance repair shop they subcontracted to complete the repairs. Read about the WORST appliance repair shop EVER on a separate post... Anyway, back to Cam Appliance... They fixed my Viking fridge door (broken hinge), icemaker and a fan inside (uh, don't by a Viking!) but it was a painfully long wait and the scheduling was problematic. He (Preston, big black man) arrived on time to the initial service and promised to call me in approximately 1 week with the next service appt date. This date would be based on when they would receive parts from Viking. It took approximately 1 month between the 1st service visit and the actual repair visit. The good news is: everything was repaired correctly and the service repair man (same big black man, Preston?) was EXTREMELY nice and efficient. I felt comfortable having him in my house and he was extremely good natured. HE deserves a full 5 stars! Bottom line: it was a painfully long wait but the service repair man got the job done right the first time! He also had a warm personality and deserves a full 5 stars for HIS customer service, as mentioned before. read more

So I went to get clothes out of my dryer yesterday and noticed they were still sort of damp so I added some more time to the dryer and restarted it. Hmmm...pressed the button again...*scratches head*...what the heck? The dryer wouldn't start! So after doing some Googling to see how to fix it myself I realized that I didn't want to end up with extra screw left over so I went ahead and called 5 different places. After most of them said they could come in a few days (wet clothes in the washer) I was happy to hear from Camarillo Appliances that they could actually get to my house that morning because of a cancellation. Sweet, so the guy came a little earlier than he said but quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Luckily it wasn't an issue with any parts and just needed a good cleaning. After seeing what the dryer looked like on the inside I am VERY glad I didn't have a fire. This should be a huge reminder to clean out your dryer ANNUALLY. Anyway, back to the review... He cleaned everything and reassembled the dryer quickly and efficiently. Now I have a working dryer and dry clothes. I would totally use them again. read more

They came to give an estimate two weeks ago and were 15 minutes late. The repair was supposed to happen today. Our time frame of arrival was 10-12. At 11:55 I called the office. The guy (Bob or Bill) who answered the phone said that Preston was running late due to traffic (that according to SigAlert, doesn't exist). We received a call at 12:45 from Bob/Bill saying that Preston couldn't make it due to traffic and asking if we can reschedule for Friday (2 days latter). I explained that we couldn't wait and the appliances needed to be fixed. Didn't get confirmation until 3PM that Preston was definitely not coming. It's one thing to be late because of traffic, it's another not to show up at all. Long story short, they don't value their customer's time. Both the fridge and oven are not working - one is under warranty while the other is not. No resolution at this time. If we don't get a resolution today, we will be giving our business to someone else. Update: Ended up coming on Friday an hour late. We requested that they call 15 minutes before they show up. Never got a call, even to say that they were running late. I have to say, although their customer service is the worst and there is no guarantee that they will show up, the prices are reasonable and they did a good job. If they could show up on time and when they are supposed to, I would give them 5 stars. read more

Perston released the refrigerant to the environment, which is illegal. He pulled several no shows, then came hours late (and does so regularly with other customers too, see above), costing us a lot of money, as both my wife and I had to take days off work He said something about the manufacturer making bad products which require service/replacement, and therefore he is overworked, misses appointments, misplaces parts, confuses one customer with another, etc. I've never heard a company's representative blame and bad mouth his own company! He took other customer's calls on speaker, and his phone was ringing non-stop with calls from other irate customers, so I could hear him lying, making lame excuses, blaming the manufacturer, and I could hear how furious are the other customers, so it is not just me :-( read more

NEVER USE THEM. Their workmanship may be great and Preston may be very nice. However, getting them to actually COME to your house and do any work is impossible. Two months ago, I made an appointment for them to come out and fix my leaky washer. They were two hours late. They then told me it was fixed with a part that needed to be ordered and would be in the next day. A WEEK later they came back and "fixed" that part and replaced my pan. $150 wasn't a bad charge. Was hoping for this to be the end. Alas, the washer still leaked - just not all over my floor because Preston had replaced the pan. But the pan was now filling up with water. Even though the work was guaranteed, they couldn't get out to my house any time in a week to fix the problem that we had ALREADY paid for...Yup. They were too busy with appointments for other people. Bob wanted to schedule a time during the week. I was not amenable to this as they had not proved to be anywhere near on-time and I work out of the home. We agreed that they would come on a Friday during a two-hour time slot. My husband was home the entire time and he said no one came. When I called, Bob said that the repairman had rang the doorbell, but no one was home. What????? I got very upset and did not reschedule at that time. Thinking about it though - I had already paid so I called again. Preston indicated that Bob was incorrect in his previous assessment and what really happened was the new or temporary repairman just never made it. OK - so now they don't show up AND lie about it. Then they tell me they can come that day and pick up the washer and fix it at the shop. Really?! So, its been over a month with a washer that leaks. At that time, I say - I just will call someone else. But reluctantly, I try again with them. They agree to come out today, Saturday at 10 am. I get a call after 10 am from Bob saying that they can't come today. They just can't do it. So, now, I have adjusted my labor day plans to be home for the washer repair and they just don't feel like coming. Oh - but they'd like to come Tuesday at 9:30! How convenient for them! While Preston is very nice, this company needs to get their act together. Not sure what world they live in where people have multiple washing machines or can afford to be without washer for weeks at a time, but I need a repair man who actually will work FOR me and WITH me. I told them today I just wanted my money back. I was told I have to call on Tuesday and speak to Bob, because Bob was leaving at 2 pm today to enjoy his weekend. Well how very nice for him! We'll see if I get any of my money back or not. At this point, it would have been worth the money to BUY a new washer. Geez read more

My review will sound just like Cami's and Celina's and Dennis'. They came an hour late for the first appointment and diagnosed the problem for my dishwasher, it needed a new pump. They said they would order the part and it would be in 3 days from then. By the fourth day, I still had not heard from them and called to find out when it would be in. When I finally talked to Preston he said it would be 3 more days. It has now been over a week and they have not called to say the part was in and to schedule the repair. I have since purchased a new dishwasher. Do not use them, they don't follow through. read more

Called Preston when my rental property microwave stopped working. They came out to check the situation to provide me a quote, coordinating a date and time with my tenant. I called Preston the next day and he gave me an estimate over the phone for a reasonable repair price. Parts, he said, would take a couple of days --hmm, that seems totally normal, for those of you who wrote reviews about timeliness... Unfortunately, that put it on the back side of the Labor Day weekend. I called my tenant on Wednesday and she said they had not come, but she would call them to see when they would be able to come. Preston came and did the work on Thursday, and according to my tenants the microwave is working perfectly. The price was exactly the reasonable quote -- which they broke out for me between parts and labor. I agree with other reviewers that they were not the most punctual but that is not the worst thing in the world. Would you rather have a good job that takes a bit longer, or a crap job done right away. I prefer the good work. People these days have such issues with patience -- you see that everywhere around you. So, patience, people! It was definitely worth it. I would not hesitate to call Camarillo Appliance again. read more

I absolutely love Camarillo Appliance! The customer service is incredible and their workmanship is amazing. These people are definitely NOT greedy, trying to squeeze every last penny out of your pocket. They are truly interested in accomedating your situation while doing their best to fulfill your needs. Preston, the gentleman who helped fix my washer, was more than kind. He worked around his scedule so he would be able to come by and fix my appliance by the time my son came home from his "dirty job" up in the mountians. He understood how important it was to me that my son could wash all his clothes of the dirt, dust, and other gunk he was encountering in his workplace. It is so refreshing to have someone push themselves to make your life easier even if it means inconveniencing theirs. Despite the complaints from some other users on here (who might not be telling both sides of the story,,,,if you know what i mean), I have nothing but good things to say about Camarillo Appliance. I have only great things to say about Preston and the great job he did to fix our washer. He understood how anxious we were to get our washer fixed and he came as scheduled, called us when he was on his way to let us know his ETA, diagnosed the problem quickly, and brought the parts needed for the washer to be fixed. Our washer has since been working like new. Preston was very knowledgeable, he is honest and trustworthy, and I highly recommend him. Camarillo Appliance has been our go-to service company since Preston came to fix our microwave years ago and he did an awesome job then, too. I moved into a townhouse and didn't know how to hook up my washer and dryer. Also, they had been sitting in storage for almost three years and I was afraid they wouldn't even work. When the guys from Camarillo Appliance showed up they were about an hour late but did contact me to let me know when they were arriving. They did an awesome job! They took extra care in ensuring they were not only set up but made sure everything worked properly. I really appreciated the hard work and attention to detail. They came to fix my subzero and missed 2 appointments and was late by 2 1/2 hours for another. It took 4 visits and they never fixed the refrigerator. There were different stories about a part being ordered or about monitoring the temperatures. All of which were not true. In addition, they alleged that they were an authorized repair person for my refrigerator, which they were not. Wilshire Refrigeration came out diagnosed and fixed the problem within 45 minutes. I would not ever call them again. read more

The service person missed his four hour window entirely, came back the next day 15 minutes after the four hour window. He had to order a part but never called back to install. I think he forgot about it until I called a week later. The appliance is old and was, in my opinion, macgyver-ed into working condition, but it still doesn't work like it should. read more

Have called on Preston since 1980's for both my home and a rental home complicated appliance problems and also more simple repairs.. His work is excellent , arrives as scheduled 75 % of the time , calls shortly before arriving and reschedules prior to committed time when another service call turns out to be more complicated than expected. He is respectful of my property and cleans up thoroughly at job completion. Costs are reasonable. read more

We have a built in side by side Kitchenaid refrigerator that stopped getting cold due to a computer board malfunction. Unfortunately that board is no longer made and needed to be repaired by a company based in Chicago (confirmed by two other sources). Waited for 2 days for the serviceman to come. First day, he missed the 3 hour window and I had to cancel since he made me wait nearly 2 hours after the last minute of the 3 hour window. So we rescheduled for him to come out the following day.... I though for sure since he was so late on the first day, he would be on time the next day. NOT...... he was nearly 2 hours late for the 3:30 appointment we made. I just got so fed up with his unprofessional-ism, that I cancelled the appointment altogether. I should have read all the reviews on Yelp before calling this company. I originally called because my fridge/freezer went out and now it's been 3 days that this company has made me wait. My food has all been spoiled and what a waste of time and energy!!!! I'm furious! Please don't use this company! I have three active sons and do a lot of laundry every day. This morning my 13 year old dryer wouldn't start ... at all. I called Camarillo Appliance and they came out after hours and diagnosed the problem. Then they went all the way back to their shop to pick up spare dryer they could use for parts. "Never seen such incompetence!" were the words of the next service technician (from a different company!) that looked at my trash compactor. Richard, Bob kept changing their stories about what the repair required: first it was the motor, then a relay switch, then the motor again... Upon inspection they had broken a bracket within the motor off (did not tell me!). The scheduling process was ridiculous, never got calls back, not once did they show up on time, so please do yourself a favor and call someone else. It's a shame this town doesn't have a competent appliance repair shop. read more
