Every time we visit Bellingham we find ourselves at Camber Coffee. They always have a good quality coffee offering while having something a little more unique and creative. We don't really get much to eat here because we are usually saving space for all of the great restaurants all over town. The space is pretty good for a quick meet up with a friend or two just to catch up. It's not too loud and not too many people seem to camp out there which is one of my pet peeves about good coffee shops. And just about every other time we walk out with a unique bag of coffee we have never tried before. We will be back. As long as our daughter lives in Bellingham, we WILL be back.

Very modern and sleek space with an ample amount of seating. My friend got an Americano and I ordered a 16oz iced matcha. There was a big line out the door around 10:20. Their pastries look delicious, especially the massive salted biscuit. I would come back for a pastry for sure, the matcha however, was a bit of a miss for me. While waiting for my drink I noticed the pale green shade of matcha another person had ordered and immediately regretted my choice to order matcha. If you're a real matcha lover you know that this is not the color you want to see when paying $8. Especially in Bellingham. Matcha is supposed to be a vibrant green color. I did not order sweetener or plant milk, and it still came out to $8.15. Since they sell a nice quality matcha from Portland on their shelf, I assumed they would know what they were doing. My drink only tasted like whole milk, which was very disappointing.

LOCATION This is a really nice, clean location with plenty of 4-top tables for larger groups, a bar along the front window, and large communal table for sharing or a giant party. A few tables on the sidewalk right out front. (Edit: Do they roast here? Today didn't smell like a coffee roaster - just ground coffee shop) Average "quick coffee" chain style. FOOD (Breakfast) Eh. Average. Fair. The granola and fruit is pretty, but not much flavor or substance. Expensive for a small bowl of meh. The fruit was quite past its prime, but maybe it's the time of year - not great produce options? Good yogurt tho? Fancy foam art on the coffee? Check. Is there turmeric usually on the coffee here? I guess it's anti-inflammatory: bonus? I like turmeric, but usually not on coffee (maybe it's a Bellingham thing??). I'd prefer cardamom. Was hoping for more from the coffee. Definitely strange start to the morning. PRICE About average. Stars - 3. [shrug] it's good? It's good.

We were lucky enough to have had a recent overnight stay in Bellingham and we found this little coffee and breakfast place by accident. It looked elegant from the outside and the line forming was the tip off. Their house coffee was excellent and we both got giant homemade buttermilk biscuits with fresh berry jam. It really was the thing.

Coffee was so smooth and delicious. I got the house made hazelnut sauce latte with oat milk. It was so smooth and tasted excellent. The wait for quite long for not being busy but I will come back. My friend also got the sausage breakfast sandwich with biscuit and she enjoyed it.

Type of cuisine: "Opened in July of 2017, Camber's flagship location can be found in downtown Bellingham, WA. Our team consists of supremely talented individuals who are committed to our guest's experience. We offer seasonal beverage and food menus crafted to showcase each thoughtfully-chosen ingredient. We're in pursuit of unrelenting quality, consistency, and joy." Ambiance: Warm, welcoming, sleek and cozy, this long (not wide) cafe and it's covered outdoor parking spot patio is ripe for a restful visit and consumption of delicious food and beverage. The lengthy bar, the top of which is the cashier, ending with the kitchen at the far back of the establishment is perfect for conversations with baristas as you await your beverages. Bar-height tables and chairs at the front are lit by the natural stream entering through the windows; the booth seating at the back of the dining area is more dimlit and cozy, slightly offering privacy for more intimate get-togethers. The feeling of community, friendship abounds. What I ordered: We enjoy seasonal specials upon most visits to Bellingham. Choosing a favorite among our plentiful orders is a challenge. Breakfast sandwiches became a quick favorite with the huge housemade biscuits and chicken sausage (the vegetarian just as good!). We loved the housemade granola and thoughtful, plentiful toppings over a house-recipe coconut yogurt. On each visit, we select at least two of their pastries, as well. From shortbread to cake, from scones to cookies, no crumb has been left behind. The flavor combinations are novel and purposeful in their intrigue and taste. Nothing will disappoint; you'll win with every selection, and want more. What I loved: As you can see, everything! We especially enjoy the seasonal beverage optioins - from espresso to matcha, from housemade flavors in steamed milk to robust teas. On a Passing Cloud, a lovely beverage has come to be one I crave and look forward to each time...though often I'm swayed by the new, seasonal offerings. Why I loved it: The baristas are kind and warm, friendly and remember us - even when it's been months since previous visits. The kitchen staff are amazingly talented and it's obvious that they love what they do. They truly have honed their craft and we are the happy recipients. Cost: High

Eh. Not sure here. The coffee I've had from here is good, but not outstanding. Not sure how they won awards for it. Staff is not exactly friendly. Speak with the baristas, and the front counter/cashier person is likely to be all in your face telling you not to even try to speak to the baristas. Pastry selections are limited. Food hours and availability are super spotty to the point of not even being worth considering. A fail. We'll see how the bags of beans I purchased go over the next few weeks, but right now I am tending towards not returning. Which is too bad because the space itself is beautiful--maybe too beautiful in a way that's infused the staff with snobbery and overly hipster superiority complex attitudes.

My partner and I lived in the area for a summer and Camber quickly became one of our favorite spots in the area (and I miss those seasonal drinks!!). The staff was super friendly and always incredibly helpful. The food was delicious and we always had leftovers (making tomorrow's breakfast exciting, too)! But the coffee and tea drinks were some of the best I've had in the country. I still dream of their Fall drinks.

Camber is a lovely cafe in Bellingham. I've been crossing the border from Vancouver to visit some of the cafes here and it never disappoints! I love how beautifully decorated Camber is and there is a lot of seating available. The staff were very nice and also very nice to the dog another customer brought inside. No complaints about the coffee either. Especially with their gorgeous to go cups. It's such a unique and artsy design :)

I really enjoyed my cranberry crumble latte on a foggy Sunday morning. At $6.50 for 10oz, this drink came with a lovely blend of a delicious cranberry pastry and smooth undertones of coffee. In my years as a Yelper, I've never had anything like it, and I made sure to savor every drop. As someone that scouts out coffee shops with non-traditional drinks, there were also plenty of other seasonal drinks to pique my interest, such as the tea latte and mushroom (!) drink. The inside is roomy, clean, and peaceful, great for working or catching up with friends. They have some pastries and savory menu items as well. Overall, I would recommend this place to both coffee purists and eccentrics alike!

This place has great coffee, pastries and breakfast. Their porridge is especially original and delicious. I was loving their Sencha tea but unfortunately they took it off the menu because no one was ordering it. It is my greatest frustration that the people in Bellingham do not understand great teas. It keeps them out of town and beyond reach for the most part, unless you belong to the tea club. Anyway, Camber is great. I will add more to the review after I come back for dinner. read more

Kind of a mix. I was there with a friend and colleague on the early side. There were maybe half full? So I was surprised that the food came out a little on the cool side. However, it was delicious. He had the flank steak. Avocado soup and lamb burger for me. I had requested rare for the lamb, and it was a little overdone for my taste (but that may reasonably be because of safety concerns--dunno). It was very tasty, though, and the avocado soup was miraculous! read more

Incredible! If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Bellingham, come here. I was coming from Seattle and passing through Bellingham. Wanted to stop at a cafe and saw this place. Service is welcoming and friendly. Helpful with menu explanations. I sat in the cafe area which was comfortable. The restaurant space was a nice option for another visit. Beautiful and modern interior. Ginger turmeric latte- the balance and flavors are dynamite. Best non-coffee drink ever. Just a hint of sweetness. The ginger flavor is raw and fresh. The foam is silky and perfect. Chocolate torte- amazingness continues. The whiskey flavor is present and adds great flavor. I thought it would barely be noticeable, since usually whiskey named desserts have barely a hint. But this one is bold and yummy. Torte is smooth, compote thick and delicious. I was staying in Bow for 2-3 weeks, and Camber coffee beans kept me fueled up! Not to mention the fried chicken sando that was far better than a cafe has any business making. Staff were patient and friendly, and COVID precautions were solid, with plenty of outdoor seating. If you're anywhere near Bellingham, make this your java home base. You won't regret it. read more

This place has a pretty good atmosphere. It's kind of loud, don't expect to have a heart to heart in here haha. But the latte I had with their seasonal seasoning was delicious and the decor was pleasant. The aesthetic goes very well in down town Bellingham. Over all a very good experience. They are a fully functioning restaurant, not just a coffee shop. read more

OH WOW!!!! Ok let me be real this meal was an out of body experience! I have never been more satisfied with a burger in my life. I split the lamb burger with a friend and absolutely fell in love. I want to bring all my friends here, my family here, my dog here. I am on cloud 9. Also our waitress?? Sweet as a bee! They are pricey but such a treat. Great ambiance and very delicious food. The only downside is they have limited space they will let you sit with a computer/ work. I've been there before where they seat me and then see I'm on a laptop and make me move with my stuff. Kind of annoying but still a great spot if you're looking for a treat. read more

I'm thrilled that we have a new bright and cheery coffee bar downtown! We had two pour overs that were delicious. A friend shared the tea selection and preparation is the best he's had in Bellingham. There is beer, wine and small snacks too. Prices are not horrible and the service was great. I love love love the location and know this will become a frequent hang spot. read more

I was impressed by Camber's iced chocolate mocha. It was so simple, yet amazing. The oat milk & coffee was light, airy, and clean tasting. The coffee menu is small, but you can really taste the food quality so I can see why. The staff were very friendly and I loved the outdoor seating option. I look forward to trying their food items. Love this place for brunch! The decor is gorgeous and has a big city feel. The food is flavorful and unique, without being a humongous calorie bomb like some other brunch places. I recommend the seasonal hash. Coffee is great and the blueberry mimosa is excellent. read more

Stopped in for breakfast and was blown away by the ambiance, character, and friendly staff. Very friendly atmosphere. Everything is open so you can watch them make your coffee and food which is fun to do. Staff is helpful and very knowledgeable although still tough to make decisions because there is not a bad item on the menu. The breakfast was by far the best I have ever had and the coffee was amazing. This is a place you must stop by if ever in the area. We will definitely make this a regular place. read more

Oh. My. God. How have I lived my life without the savory Dutch Baby in my life?!?!?!!! I loved it so much that I'm writing this review while sitting in Camber having just finished my meal. I've been on a trip the past few days with my girlfriends and we have had GREAT food, but this tops them all. I'm sad that I live so far from this magic food. Try it. You must! Coffee to go or sit down and have something to eat. This place is beautiful to look at and the food is great. It has an arty vibe, and an understated elegance. My husband happened upon Camber for a breakfast date and wow, This place is such a hidden gem in our community. I loved the quiet, clean, modern atmosphere. My eggnog latte was absolutely amazing. The menu had unique and healthy choices for breakfast and I settled on the chicken and waffles. The food was SO good. I would recommend this place over and over. I can't wait to return and try more of their food options. read more

Had a great first experience here. The place really is beautiful inside. The coffee was great. The baristas were on fleek. Not a whole lot of seating room for working while you enjoy your drink, but it probably just feels like that because so many people have been wanting to check it out. Fun perk, the bathroom had music so you can rock out while taking a leak. I shall return! read more

The restaurant has been nicely remodeled, it's very open and airy. I was transported out of Bham into a cosmopolitan atmosphere. I had a decaf coffee that was good and a sweet corn w/dumpling soup, which was very good. The service was good and the waitperson was friendly. This is a soft opening and their full menu is coming out on Tuesday, Aug 1, and look forward to see what they will offer. read more

This place is a new bright spot on the downtown Bellingham scene. I've already been twice, and I've been very impressed. This café-restaurant is beautifully designed inside, very clean and modern, but comfy just the same. So far, I have only been there for coffee, and the selection of single-origin beans is outstanding. There's not a huge variety, but what's on offer is high quality. The food menu looks fantastic -- yet again, it's not extensive, but the focus seems to be on doing a few things well. These are early days. I'm sure I'll be back to explore the dining menu and will update this review. In the meantime, I'm happy to have a place like this as an option... Update: still loving it here mostly for drinks. The food that I have tried has been only OK. Also, at busy times there seems to be a bit of front-of-house confusion that is a bummer. Everyone I know seems to like it here, and it remains in my frequent rotation. Camber is still an enthusiastic thumbs up, but not quite a 5-star... read more

Bellingh needed a nice coffee shop like for a long long time. I am happy camber filled the void. I am confused how the meal service will work (is it full on sit down or is it order at the bat??) but the menu looks promising. Also they said the are still under sift launch so will give them time to sort that out. read more

The interior is nice but the drinks and customer service were lackluster. I got a chai latte which wasn't very good. The restaurant is loud and I felt very out of place. The person at the counter looked at me like I had two heads when I asked if they had a to-go option for drinks. Everything is overpriced. The atmosphere of the restaurant feels very pretentious. I noticed a lot of other reviews saying it felt like a coffee shop in Seattle. As a Seattleite, I can say that our coffee shops feel more welcoming than this place. read more

Two caveats before I begin: - I'm reviewing Camber for my experience as a Friday night restaurant. I realize they specialize in being a coffee bar. - I'm holding them to a higher standard in-line with the higher prices compared to the rest of Bellingham. It's only fair. Overall, my experience was OK. Inspired by the fresh flowers on the table, I'll write my roses (positives) and thorns (negatives) of the experience: Roses: -Simple food and drink menu with well curated selections -Gorgeous atmosphere -Accommodating for a group -It appears to be a very popular/trendy community hub. I've seen them do fun promotions including discounts for local students. I appreciate that we never felt rushed. Thorns: - I thought the waiter could have worked on his timing a bit. At times, he awkwardly interrupted our conversation and at the end of the evening, he brought a check for one person, but not the rest of the group. Then, processing the checks took about 10-minutes. - Portion sizes for an entree were laughably small. - I got the sweet potato gnocci. If I made it at home and it came out like that, I'd be apologizing to my guests. It was generally flavorless chewy globs of undercooked dough with dashes of charred rosemary. I hesitated to eat it because I know what undercooked dough can do to a girl's digestive tract. I'm not a professional, but my advice to the chef: the gnocci needs to be smaller, use more flour, and cook it longer. The butter sauce that you used needs more salt and possibly garlic. It's ok to season with rosemary, but if you singe the herb, strain it out and add fresh rosemary to the plate as a garnish. Don't chop the nuts so small. This was our first time going to this coffee shop. It was delightful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Coffee was amazing. I got a drip Honduran and my wife got The Lady Finger (one of the best espresso drinks I've ever had). Very clean, comfortable and approachable for being such an artisanal shop. The coffee menu was a little difficult to understand but everything else was great! read more

Camber, oh camber. I want to love you because your oat milk latte is great but everything else is blah. Service is always just ok, of the 4-5 times we have come in I don't think I have seen a genuine smile from a single barista. Plus, after you order, you kind of have to play this game of where should I stand or sit and wait....and it will be a bit of a wait. But, once you do get your beverage, it is tasty!! Also, very good pastries and pretty décor but not an overall welcoming environment. read more

Love this coffee shop/cafe! I met a friend for lunch here and it was great. They are successful at seamlessly being both a coffee shop where people hang out and a full service cafe where people come for a meal. It is not easy to achieve both without one feeling like you are in the other. The food was pretty good... the coffee was delicious. The ambience was wonderful. I'll definitely be back. read more

The person who brought us our coffee was horrid. She wasn't wearing a nametag so I can't call her out - dirty blonde curly hair in a bun, black glasses, in her 20s. She told us that outside food was not allowed and when I explained that my daughter has severe (carries an epi always) allergy and just wanted to enjoy a small scone with her tea, she gave us a snide look and condescendingly said, "It doesn't matter, LIKE I said, we don't allow it." She needs to remember that she works in a service establishment. And that a little kindness and empathy goes a long way. I hope if she has kids, no one treats them the way she did mine.
