We stopped by Thursday with an unreasonable move in date for the very next day due to the previous property we were going to move into falling through. MISTY WAS AMAZING. I was in a panic and calmed every fear we had. She went above and beyond to make sure we got moved in. Friday night came around and there was an issue with our rental truck after hours. Alfonso, with the maintenance staff on duty, again, went above and beyond to make sure we had access to move our things. My ONLY complaint so far is that we got wet paint on our furniture from the front door being freshly touched up and we could not place anything on the carpets from being wet from the cleaning. I know they had to rush the guys to have the unit ready but brown paint is going to be tricky to get out of a grey fabric couch. Dirty. Trash and dog waste all over the property. People let their dogs do business in the halls. Constant smell of pot. Last couple of months there saw a significant uptick in auto break ins. They don't enforce any parking rules either so that doesn't help the security situation.. over all just a grimy place. read more

Great maintenance staff, but complete ineptitude from the community manager. Daniel has fought me for almost a year about my air conditioner that didn't work. I finally got a new one after it completely failed, but I had to get a hotel Saturday night and he weaseled his way out of reimbursing me, the same way he weaseled out of fixing or replacing my AC last summer. He is very confident in his opinion, but the problem is he doesn't know much about anything. Just try not to deal with him at all. read more

Don't move here if you want any expectation of privacy. At least twice, I have come home to a stranger standing in my apartment. I am a female living by myself. Even after I approached management (Kenya and Aline) about this multiple times and was assured by them this would never happen again, I came home and found masks that someone had dropped in my bedroom; I logged into the Chirp app to learn that someone had been in my apartment that day--without my permission and after the management had reassured me that no one would ever enter my apartment without my permission and without me being there. This apartment allowed someone to move in under my name with fake ID & everything.. and to this day they're still trying to make ME PAY for the unpaid balance!!!! SAD!!!!! I'm already dealing with enough and these people won't even look into the case!!! I'm going to get a lawyer and sue. read more

My experience at this apartment was not so hot. This is my person opinion ofc so be sure to keep that in mind. first off, conditions of the complex eye noticed were... roaches, lots of them, when eye first moved in there were so many roaches coming in or already in the unit (hiding) id say eye saw about 5 each day until EYE got rid of them being that the pest control people seemed to not be doing any justice with their concoction they sprayed. it took about 2 months to not see them much anymore.. although they are outside of the apt but eye mean its out doors huh?eye guess.. eye thought id get used to the sound of the cars on I-10 (highway RIGHT by the complex) but eye did not.. im pretty damn sensitive to sound and that was a deal breaker for me when it came to having a peaceful space, all the units aren't right near but the unit eye got happened to be and it was really loud even with the double paned windows, sadly eye didn't enjoy much chill time on my patio.. the foundation of the complex is poor, throughout the lease eye got ants that crawled on the walls from the cracks along the walls and creases of the windows.. eye was on the first floor so idk if anyone else had this issue on up but my animals were always playing with the bugs.. im pretty sure there was black mold (which eye have a few pictures of along with the cracks in the foundation, wish eye had the pictures of the roaches still but eye deleted them) MIND YOU.. i was told my unit was renovated with new everything.. I'm sure that was not true being that the tub chipped after cleaning it with natural products.. the paint on the always chipped so Easily and the dishwasher was so stank.. lol eye made the very best out of my experience here but for the $ and the area not being as safe as alot of people think its not a place id recommend to anyone.. read more

I LOVE IT HERE! I've been here for a little over a month and it is everything I want in an apartment. We have such a nice view and a beautiful apartment. Every time I have guest they talk about how pretty it is. This complex does what they say. And the requests are answered really fast. I told the office about my complaint. I climbed the stairs to the 4th floor and maintenance was already at my door!! Same with all requests I've made after. Someone is there almost immediately to fix the issue every single time. Staff is incredibly responsive and nice about everything. I'm not sure if my walls here were thick or I have quiet neighbors but it's always quiet here. We're walking distance from a lot of bars and restaurants. And there's even a really nice bike route that leads to a shopping center. There are very few things I'd complain about. It would be nice to have another elevator in the complex instead of just the garage. Especially after a leg workout. Seriously, a greta place to be. Kitchen is gorgeous. View of downtown is so nice. And all the visitor parking you could need. It really is the ideal place to live. read more

Really love living at Camden Heights! Management has done a phenomenal job dealing with a lot of issues that come from this location in town. I feel very safe, comfortable, heard and valued as a resident here. My application process was a breeze, the agent that I dealt with initially wasn't the most helpful but he doesn't work here anymore lol! Management takes care of the community with pride and it's very obvious from the different upgrades they have done during my year here. My service requests are always handled with in a day, their maintenance here is top of the line! I get emails all the time of important things going around the community. I can't believe I was actually excited to live at Camden Heights. Completely unresponsive management--you will literally never get off hold if you call them; and if ever they actually do pick up, your 'emergency' will not be handled. There is no venue for complaints. They simply 'resolve' it in their IT system and move on. Expect to come home to a strange man in your apartment, MORE THAN ONCE, even after you ask time and time again that they call you before letting a random maintenance person into your apartment. I've lived for 6 weeks and over 40 cars have already been broken into, there have been cars stole and wheels stolen. Internet is never working (provided by Camden, included in lease payment), and our water has been out for a day and Camden refuses to fix it for another 2-3 days. The good: - Nice area to live - The maintenance team is super fast and helpful The bad: - The package theft situation here is totally unacceptable. The private community message board is FULL of people reporting their packages as stolen...this is by far the most common post from residents. Management could either: increase security with cameras in the hallways, accept packages at the front desk, or install an Amazon locker-style system. Any of these could easily solve the package theft issue, however they refuse to do any of them and allow their residents to get ripped off each and every day. Management does give residents a discount for the app 'DropSpot', which allows you to have packages delivered to local businesses for a fee. Also, if you call, they will place the package in your apartment for you. However, this does not prevent theft as package tracking lags and the thieves are picking up the packages right after delivery. If you want to live here, you need to know that you cannot ever receive packages to your apartment. I'm not sure if yelp will let me post it, but I've included a Google Drive link with images from the private message board showing residents complaining about their stolen packages. Honestly, look elsewhere is you are thinking of moving in the loop. If you only read one thing in this review, skip to the bottom. I dont have the same complaints as other reviews you will see about management. Even though I have never attended one, they do a ton of events and services for the community living here. The trash service is nice and the gym is pretty decent as far as apartment gyms go. My fiance has had some bad experiences with the main property manager mainly concerning adding her as a resident to my lease. They wanted to have her fill the whole lease out in order to collect on some fees and deposits and were pretty rude and adamant about it. The manager actually got personal stating if my fiance ever broke up or got into a fight I would and could effectivly cut her out and have my locks changed to leave her stranged which I thought was crossing the line and not her business to say. We have had issues with packages too, their system in the office is awful. I will get delivery notes on my door that my package is in the office, heck it will even say in the office that I have a package but they will not be able to find it. I either have to wait around for 30-45 minutes while they scour the office (for a package that came in the same day!) or I have to ask them to call me when they find it. What chaps me on this, is when it does happen, they actually blame me and say I already came and picked it up or it must be the ups guy or whatever. Needless to say, I get packages delivered to my office. BUT Why I would never recomend this place to anyone. SECURITY I have lived here for 6 months and my truck has been broken into twice. I don't have a nice truck, they don't even steal all of my stuff. They smash my window and steal my stereo. Both times. I would say on average, I see 2 or three break-ins in the garage weekly and they usually hit multiple cars at a time. Supposedly we have a security gaurd but the only time I have seen or heard of him, is kicking people out of the pool after 10. If you read past reviews, this is a constant issue in this complex going years back and they refuse to do anything about it or offer more than a "Sorry, that sucks" when I let them know. The parking garage has no cameras and limited entries so the top few floors are literally a safe haven to thieves. If I had done my due diligence before moving in and seen the similar reviews, I never would have moved here. I have lived inner loop for the last 5 years and NEVER had one security issue because most of the similarly priced complexes take security as a #1 priority. Gates are often broken, or don't hinge shut so they just stay open at all hours. Hope this finds useful. read more

Water is out AGAIN and has been for the past eight hours. One day someone will have an emergency whether it be a fire or medical emergency and Camden will be in big trouble when the tenant is unable to use water. This is a HUGE issue and has been multiple times since we've lived here - I cannot brush my teeth, or shower, or flush the toilet. I guess I will go to work looking haggard tomorrow? Concrete jungle. I leased with Camden Heights over the phone because I needed an apartment in Houston in a hurry. The unit itself was lovely, but I was miserable every minute I was there. In order to get to my apartment from the parking garage, I'd walk approximately two city blocks through humid concrete hallways. It felt like a penitentiary. The lack of trees anywhere killed me. Every moment in the parking garage I feared my life. There are no mirrors, no signs, and tenants drive like speed demons. Speaking of tenants, no one is friendly and no one says hello. I moved out mid-September 2012 and was promised shortly after that I would be refunded the balance of my rent for the days I did not live there. I have been in contact with the office several times over the past few months and have been repeatedly promised that my check was en route. Each time I spoke to someone in the office, I confirmed that they had my updated contact address. I am losing my patience at not having received a refund, and when I called the office just now, I was advised that my address on file was still the Camden Heights address. If you are never going to leave your apartment and don't care about anything but the quality of your unit, this place is for you. If you intend to walk outside your unit and have expectations of a competent staff, look elsewhere. I must give props to the groundskeepers. I cannot recall her name, but there was a very sweet lady who worked in housekeeping. read more

I've lived in Camden Heights for 8 months now and I have really enjoyed it. The apartments are spacious and the location is excellent. Its very easy to make a maintenance request and they are very prompt in fixing an issue. The pool/gym/business center are all very nice as well and its never too crowded, even at the pool during the summer. My only wish is that the office could accept packages or would invest in an amazon locker like many complexes have done. According to a lot of the reviews on here, it looks like package theft is an issue here, so I purchased a cheap $20 camera outside my door and I've probably had over 50 packages delivered to my door with no theft issues (some packages sat for multiple days). Another complaint posted in some reviews were about "constant" vehicle break-ins. In the 8 months I've lived here, there has been two separate incidents (that we were made aware of). I don't know if that constitutes as "constant" or "frequent" relative to other complexes in the Houston area, but it doesn't seem to be a major issue in my opinion. Finally, my experiences with the staff have been very pleasant. Everyone from the office staff to the maintenance staff have been very nice and professional in all my interactions with them. As with every apartment complex, there are pros and cons, but in my opinion the pros far outweigh the cons at Camden, so 5 stars from me :) read more

I lived in Camden City Centre in 2014 and had a great experience, which encouraged me to live in Camden Heights. I've been surprisingly displeased with this experience thus far. Receiving Packages: First, we had weeks of issues of not getting a package and after the difficulty in communication with the office I found out that the office does not sign for packages. Now, the office doesn't take packages at all. I've never lived in an apartment which doesn't provide what I think is a required amenity, of receiving mail packages. As a benchmark, my girlfriend lived in a lesser luxorious apartment which received packages, and paid $800 per month for rent. Hot Water: We've had no hot water for 4 days due to a standard replacement maintenance did across all apartments. I've been on the phone with the office each of these days, and dealt with maintenance noisily working through my apartment (I work from home so this disruption is quite difficult), for 4 days. The apartment, staff friendliness, website, and parking are all great. But if you receive packages, or appreciate the occasional hot shower, you may find Camden Heights to be sub-par when compared to the $800 per month apartments. read more

Good apartments are hard to find and it's even harder to find reviews, so I wanted to contribute. We lived here for about 9 months and it wasn't bad. It was less expensive than most apartments in where you were not requesting 1 year+ leases. Their month to month tho, is quite outrageous. [FYI we had to live here temporarily while our house was being built - thus we were at the mercy of M2M for 2 months of our 9 month lease] I liked the gym, pool, proximity to DT and heights bars. Basically the same pros as Colin M. However, the parking lot break-ins were EXTREMELY heavy. The insurance agent that had to come and estimate my damages informed me that summer is a bad season due to "kids" being readily available for theft. The thieves stole my sideview mirrors. This was the first time I heard of this type of theft. The complex received so many break-in complaints in addition to car break-ins, that they kind of "laughed off" my call to them. There were alot of apartment break-in complaints at the end of our lease as well and I was glad to be going into a home soon. My husband and I, tho, chalked it up to - it's an apartment complex. There will be break-ins. We were situated by highly populated stair area and non-first floor - which I think helped deter any burglars from robbing our location. A PLUS. Last complaint is that the office was getting very disorganized with packages. They were very good the first 6 months, but the last three were perplexing. Maybe they were overwhelmed with the robberies. Overall, the location is very good. The price is manageable. And three stars is definitely a proper rating for our stay. Not bad, not great. read more

I have to edit my review based on changes in management and management decisions. The apartment complex no longer accepts packages meaning that you have to go to the USPS office to pick up all of your packages. My package was left outside my door step and it was stolen. This is new management decision is ridiculous and quite frankly unacceptable given the rent prices. I will definitely not be renewing my lease when it comes up solely on the fact that I can not receive packages. Aside from the package issue the apartment complex itself is in good condition. Decent apartments, rent gets expensive in these parts of town, eh? I guess you pay for a good location. Getting a good location in this building is key, as there are certainly some very unfortunate layouts. Visit the building and see the distance to the garage or if there's an abnormal amount of highway noise. Leasing office service is decent, better than west campus in Austin, if you use that as the lowest of the low *cough ely properties* Hours are not convenient and packages are only delivered to the office. Service requests handled fast whenever we submitted them. I despise the parking garage. It's inconvenient, kinda dangerous, and many spots are reserved. It is a business so I guess if people are willing to pay... They also keep emailing me about renters insurance when I've already submitted my notice to leave... I'm glad to be leaving, hard to say if the pros outweigh the cons. read more

These apartments are great! Yes, the rent can be expensive, but it's competitive and you won't find a better value in the Heights. The staff has been excellent, they host some sort of social event seemingly weekly and are always on top of the needs of the complex. Security is average, but it's a priority of the staff. There are issues but it's not out of the norm when compared to other large cities or complexes. And I really can't say enough about the staff, particularly Ali Nematpour. We have been here for one year and he has been with is every step of the way. Making us feel at home from the very beginning. And that's way we just renewed our lease with him! My boyfriend and I have lived here for almost 3 Months now; we have no real complaints and are overall pleased with this complex. It's close to the popular White Oak area in the Heights and there's also direct access to the run and bike trails! Maintenance requests are always fulfilled in a timely manner and pest control comes out every Monday which is nice. One complaint about Camden (which other companies do as well) is the valet trash service, it's pretty unnecessary and a mandatory $35 monthly charge on top of your rent; we live steps away from a trash chute, we wouldn't mind walking our trash over as needed. Again, overall a great complex with a helpful and friendly leasing staff! read more

TENANTS BEWARE!! I thought everything was fine. I thought we had a good tenant/landlord relationship upon departing after having lived their 5 years. I even upgraded the last year to a much bigger unit when my fiancé and I merged our lives. Unfortunately, I was unwittingly dragging my then fiancé, now wife, into a living nightmare. Cars constantly vandalized (hers included), one night two F-150's were put on blocks in the parking garage and robbed of their tires, the water constantly shut off, the front office refusing to accept packages, and the cherry on top, a massive bill when we left at the end of our lease. After having completed a walk-through with maintenance management and being told that there was nothing amiss, and other than the required cleaning fee of $150!!!!, we were good to go...we were then blindsided by a $800 bill to replace the entire carpet and fix holes in the walls!! The two of us, no kids, no pets, only hosted a handful of times, allegedly damaged the entire carpet of a two bedroom with a study, and had "holes" in the walls, to the tune of almost a thousand dollars! I requested the walk-through so that I could personally address, or have the opportunity to rectify any concerns or possible issues. WTF else is a walk-through for with both parties present other than to agree in person on the condition of the unit? In person, they said we were good. Then, they bill us an outrageous amount, with the insinuated threat of damage to credit should we attempt to contest it. BEWARE FELLOW TENANTS!! read more

Camden Heights is great! My roommate and I have lived here for about a year and a half, and have no complaints! The staff is great. Maintenance requests are completed promptly. The kitchen is always stocked (frosted animal crackers, coffee, snacks, drinks, etc). There are also always fun events to go to (painting classes, yoga, food truck nights, bingo). The location is my favorite part. Camden Heights is about a $10 uber ride from midtown, close to downtown for sporting events, and within walking distance to some great places to eat/drink (White Oak: Barnabys, Onion Creek, Christian's Tailgate, Little Woodrow's). There is also a great running path you can get to, right down the street! I also love that it is right off of I-10, perfect for my commute! read more

Living here has been great. The staff are nice and helpful which made the moving process stress free. Property is well maintained and located in probably the best area to live in Houston. 3.5 years of living here and 2 managers later I can give a full perspective of the Camden Heights experience. The water has been shut off at least 5 times in 2016 alone, and management does nothing more than apologize, stick a band aid on the problem, and wait for another pipe to break. The elevators and garage entrance and exit are under constant maintenance and frequently out of service. Cars in the garage are consistently vandalized (stolen mirrors and tires are a bimonthly to weekly occurrence). There was even gunfire in the garage after a domestic dispute in halls the day after Thanksgiving 2015. Also, a short time after this property remodeled the front office to accommodate a larger mail room, Camden corporate announced they would no longer be accepting packages at the front office. If you live at a Camden property, you will have to have your packages delivered somewhere else or hunt them down in the local post office abyss (which is extremely inefficient and not open when most people get out of work). However - the on-site maintenance crew is fantastic. They are efficient with requests, respectful of property, diligent workers, and very friendly. It's unfortunate that poor management overshadows the performance of this stellar group. I would not recommend this Camden property to anyone. read more

If i could give 0 stars i would. This apt sucks .DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! SO GLAD I DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE. Freeway very loud, but they initially told me windows were very good and would block out sound. Pool is always very loud and they don't do anything about the sound. Parking is AWFUL, but if you want a good spot you can pay extra (they are always looking to nickel and dime you). I had a rental car while my car was in the shop and they wouldn't give me a temporary sticker, but I SPECIFICALLY asked about that when I moved in and they said they would provide temporary stickers. There were COUNTLESS car and apartment break-ins while I lived there, and they never did anything about it- did not improve security or install cameras. My bike was stolen off my balcony and they didn't even seem to care when I told them. When I moved out i left the apartment in great condition. They sent me a bill to replace the carpet because of ONE water stain that was not bad-- they claimed it was a pet stain, but I NEVER had a pet in the apartment. they are crooks. I essentially had to pay the charge to prevent it from going to a collections company and hurting my credit. AND when I was on month to month they tried to raise my rent $500/month with only a 30 day notice, but I was required to give a 60 day notice to vacate. I had to argue with them for a couple days and send them a copy of my lease proving it violated the terms of our agreement before they conceded (per my lease they were required to give 65 day notice of rent increasing). read more

Cam-den-ville Horror Movie STOLEN CAR CAPITAL of THE HEIGHTS! Second STOLEN car in less than 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!! My brother-in-law brought his 14 y/o daughter & her friend up here from East TX for a surprise birthday concert. The concert was Sat night October 11th. His 2008 Ford F250 was parked in front of the apartment complex on Oxford St. We left to the concert at 7pm & returned at 11pm. Upon our return, the adults returned to our own surprise or nightmare...the truck was stolen. Stolen in less than 4 frickin hours! We filed a police report asap. Fortunately, the truck was found the next morning abandoned in a wet grassy area behind a building in East Downtown close to Houston Ave (see pics attached). A police officer called us to come by and ID the truck to make sure it was his. After speaking to the police officer for about 20 minutes, he told us that the Camden property area off of Oxford St is a hot target for young thieves living in the crack houses close to East Downtown. Apparently, word is out that this property has weak security and the cameras don't work in the garage. For example the main gate to the parking garage was LEFT OPEN for 3 weeks in September. I repeat 3 WEEKS! Multiple tenants told management and ZERO was done to remedy this. The cameras have limited visibility & were quoted as being 'blurry.'The thieves have been seen walking through the parking garage looking in cars. There have been multiple windows broken, lap tops stolen, and again (multiple cars stolen). The thieves know that the cameras don't work so their level of risk is extremely low. There aren't even cameras in front of the building where the truck was stolen. The police officer stated that they have received complaints for vandalism, stolen cars, stolen property, trespassing all pertaining to this area. The property or the corporation hasn't done anything to enhance the security. This may not be the managers fault because she doesn't make all the decisions & she's not a police officer or detective, but its pretty obvious that this corporation as a whole doesn't give a shit about their residents (i.e. one of the largest in the country). All they care about is collecting rent and generating revenue. The CEO Richard J. Campo & President D. Keith Oden are focused on filling their pockets. To provide you with some perspective, other properties around the area have HD- cameras in the garage and around the property! And some have security guards. Why haven't the cameras been enhanced? They were quoted as being blurry! Why was the gate open for 3 weeks? Why are their random thieves walking through the garage in the middle of the night? The thieves have actually gotten into the building near the pool and stolen keys out of the gym, while management was working (i.e. 4pm)! A bike was stolen off of the THIRD floor balcony during the day! The police officer said that as long as the property makes it easy for the thieves, they won't stop. The corporation has done absolutely zero to enhance security. I'm sure i'll get a generic response from management saying something to the tune of: "Unfortunately, crime has increased throughout the Houston metro and our surrounding neighborhood has not evaded this increase as well. We try our best to keep residents as informed on activity taking place in the community and neighborhood as well as providing helpful tips of ways to deter crime from occurring." Dear Camden, Here is a thought: security cameras that actualy work and gates that actually lock might 'deter' criminals from stealing our cars! Word is out, you lack security! Regarding the truck: It turns out that the thieves used a large philips head screwdriver to pop the door lock and then to start the ignition. The radio & speakers were stripped. The police officer was stating that the Heights just isn't growing fast enough to out weight the crime or criminals still living near by. He said it was the 5th F250 that was stolen this week from the Heights. I can't even tell you how may "randoms" and "shady people" have waited at the gate to be let in by tenants. I just walk to the other side and don't let them in. P.S. My car was stolen from this property in July in broad daylight (i.e. 4pm) out of the GARAGE! And guess what, the cameras were down at the time! I have the police reports for both vehicles that are mentioned in this blog. The good news is that Texas has as law or penal code that grants citizens the right to use deadly force to prevent someone "who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property." Camden Heights Apartments - Stolen truck recovered! - Apartments Near Me - Houston, Texas

The Property: The apartments themselves are average. The appliances, cabinetry and floors are on the cheap end, but they get the job done. The garage always seems to have some type of issue (gate not working, etc.). The landscaping is always well kept. The Pool: Nice. Security: Very poor. Cars are broken into very frequently (both in and out of the garage). Apartments have been broken into as well. Emails are sent out to residents warning them to lock their doors and be on the look out, but with the frequency of incidents no additional precautions are taken (visible security presence). When my lease is up this will be the reason I leave. New residents should be aware of this.... Pet Policy: This is a pet friendly community, which is one of the reasons I came here. I lived at Camden Heights for 15 months and had no problems...AT FIRST. The staff was friendly, the location was great and I loved going to free yoga by the pool on Thursdays. That was until my neighbor directly above me got a dog. The dog barked every single night/early morning for nearly two months...sometimes at 11 p.m., sometimes at 2 a.m., sometimes at 5 a.m. Throughout these two months, I reported the barking dog in the middle of the night at least 10 times by calling the resident services line. They would put me through to someone offsite who would "alert the security guard to go check on it." Well, that would have been great had we 1. known which apartment it was coming from and 2. the people had been home. I got so desperate that I would sleep in my living room on the couch and could still hear it. I recorded the barking on my phone and sent them via email to the staff. I called multiple times and spoke with Erika who was always very sweet... but nothing was done. Finally, there was one night where the security guard actually came into my apartment at midnight to try to listen to it himself. He identified that it was definitely coming from the apartment right above me...great! However, the staff said this apartment did not have a dog on file... sooo still nothing changed. After dealing with the barking for several more weeks and going into the office to complain a couple times, I finally got to speak with the manager who said she would ask the apartment owners above me to have a meeting with her. After this, it finally stopped for good, which was great. I just wish it hadn't taken two months for something to be done. So even after all this, I recently moved out and received my final account statement in the mail. Not only did I not get my $100 security deposit back, but I actually owe them an additional $95. This is on top of the $100 cleaning fee I had to pay for my apartment. The fees were for "repairing holes in walls" and "replacing carpet". I had spackled every hole upon move out and my apartment definitely had normal wear and tear, but not enough to be charged $200 for it. Camden is overall a good place to live for the price in an awesome location, as long as you don't have an issue that the management doesn't care about and have no wear and tear (including spackled picture frame holes) in your apartment. read more
