Service good - we were the only customers in the restaurant and the servers were attentive and fast. We had the chicken and waffles and enjoyed it! We had a side of loaded fries, which were disappointing for €7- just fries with nacho cheese and bacon bits. The ambiance was lovely, it was clean and modern. J and I had dinner here on Saturday and given the number of good reviews, we were both a bit disappointed. We wanted to sample a few things so decided to share the buffalo chicken tenders, southern fried chicken tenders, sweet potato fries, beer battered onion rings and the jalapeno poppers. Both kinds of tenders had wonderful breading and flavours and the chicken inside was perfectly juicy. My cajun jalapeno mayo was also nice. Our happiness stopped with the chicken though. All three sides were bland and hard to finish. The beer battered onion rings lacked any seasoning and were slightly soggy. The sweet potato fries were undercooked and also lacked any real flavour. The jalapeno poppers were simply balls of fried cream cheese (no hint of jalapeno) and weirdly came with tortilla chips. The portions ended up being huge and given that our total bill was around €40 that would normally be a great thing...but try as we may we couldn't bring ourselves to finish the lackluster sides. Better than Crackbird? Maybe.. maybe different. Tasty, crispy chicken and sweeeeet sides. I checked out the tenders with some chips, jalapeño coleslaw and onion rings. Everything was kinda hard to share (luckily I'm a generous fella) and both dips I tried were full of flavour without overpowering that which was dipped. As a Brucey Bonus, the rum old fashioned was so good they drank it twice and the price was pretty nice. Get to it. read more

Came here with a group of 4 tonight - we had reservations for 7 but two of us showed up quite early so hung out at the tiny bar area downstairs until our reservation time. The place is small, with all the seating upstairs, but they've really packed a lot into a small area. Good music playing, really classic rock/pop, and the vibe of the place is laid back like you'd want a wings place to be but also somewhat trendy. I'd say everyone in there was mid-20s to mid-30s. The staff are great, apparently there was some mix-up about our reservations but we ended up getting a table quite a bit earlier than our actual reservation time and the bartender comped our drinks while we waited? So no complaints there! The food was fab. 3 of the 4 of us got the buffalo tenders, the other was BBQ wings. We also got onion rings and sweet potato fries - all of it, including the sauces, were very good. "Best wings I've had so far in Dublin" came up from our resident wings expert at the table so there's a testimonial for you! Will be back soon to try the other flavors of wings and the cheesecake offerings... I only wish they had decent beer choices to complement the wings and it would be perfect!! read more

I've tried several places that offer Chicken Wings and I make it my life's mission to find out new places. I had heard about this little joint from a friend of mine who raved about it. I decided to give it a try as my favourite joint "Oxaca" had shut their doors a month or so ago. I went in on a quiet Saturday afternoon where I didn't find it an extremely long wait to be seated. Staff were very professional and polite. I ordered Chicken Wings off the menu and decided in the back of my mind for their delicious looking cheesecake. The chicken wings arrived. They were tangy but too crispy. I had tried several chicken wings from different places but the wings offered were very crispy and just a pain to eat. I ended up wasting half of it as I was not able to down it. The chips offered were nice however. They were properly salted and tasted quite nice. I decided to give their cheesecake a chance. I ordered their Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake which looked very appealing in its little glass mug. The cheesecake was okay. It wasn't the best but it was not bad. I didn't exactly taste much of the Ferrero in it. The digestive base was nice but the cheesecake wasn't exactly Ferrero as I couldn't taste any of it. Overall, the place wasn't as good as it had been hyped to be. The wings could be more tender and juicy than dry and crispy. The cheesecake could do with a little bit of tweaking to taste sweeter and more Ferrero like. Would I return? Probably not. Chicken wings were what attracted me to the restaurant but they've let me down. read more

Had a craving for some American wings, and this place sealed the deal. The restaurant in itself is on the smaller side, so it is best to play it safe and make a reservation ahead of time. While the place is small, the flavor it delivers is massive. Wings came in large portions and fell right off the bone. Do yourself a favor and get the onion rings. They are MASSIVE. One of our last nights in Dublin and had a craving for wings, did a search and found this place. We did go without a reservation and was able to get a table with a short wait. Very small space. Best wings in Dublin hands down. I went here with my boyfriend in a sunday evening with no reservation. Although busy the waitress managed to get us a table within five minutes. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I ordered the original buffalo while my boyfriend ordered a special, the soy wasabi. The portions are huge and both were incredibly tasty. On the side we ordered a portion of the sweet potato fries, onion rings and jalapeno coleslaw. The only slight disappointing thing was that some of the fries were slightly undercooked, and the jalapeno slaw was simply coleslaw with the odd jalapeno in it. We were expecting something with a bit more bite! Overall however, this is a must go to place I you like wings. It is incredible value for money and the staff really are wonderful! Between The Green Bench and now this place, Montague Street is fast becoming a little hidden treasure just off Camden Street! Wishbone is very trendy, and really appeals to the hip Dublin crowd. The decor is simple and cool and the overall vibe here is busy but relaxed. In terms of the food, the buffalo wings weren't the best I've had in Dublin but they were really good. Everything was well-cooked, they have some tasty sauces and sides to choose from and the portion sizes are very generous. The cocktails here however were the real winner for us! We opted for the Bramble which was a gin-based cocktail with blackberries and it was delicious. If I was going back again I'd stick to the cocktails instead of getting a dessert as we also got the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake to share and it wasn't anything to write home about. If you're looking to try some good wings and cocktails give this place a shot. Make sure you book though, the place was jammers when we were there! read more

Another one of these hip restaurants that specialises in one food, this one on chicken wings. While at first it might seem like there's not much choice (only two types of wings and two types of tenders?), There are typically an additional 3 or so specials on each day. Along with your choice you get a sauce of choice which is nice if your wings/tenders aren't too saucy. I got the wasabi and teriyaki special wings with the chilli jam dip and every bite was incredible. Wishbone has some of if not the best wings in the city, definitely check it out if you get the chance (and if you can find it!). read more

This somewhat doomed location has reopened with one of the current food trends on the go at the moment in Dublin. Wings of the chicken variety. We ordered the original buffalo wings, the southern fried tenders and the skin on fries. The inclusive two dips: Blue Cheese and Cajun Jalapeño Mayo. And this was plenty of food between two of us. The highlight for both of us was the tenders and the jalapeño dip. I filled up on those. The wings I was not mad on. I think it was the buffalo sauce that just didn't suit me. I would definitely try the other variety of wings should I be back. The Salted Toffee Apple sounds intriguing. The service was spot on, 5/5 for that. The food came promptly despite it being jammers and the staff very charming. I had a glass of their Pinot Grigio and it was grand, great even. The place was very busy and this was on a Monday night. Clearly the public has spoken and I doubt very much Wishbone will be closing anytime soon. Good luck to them too. read more

Simple. Well executed. Well priced. Just tried the classic orange buffalo and the onion rings but both were really good. It's a good concept because who doesn't love chicken wings! Hopefully they can kept up the consistency because it would be a great regular spot. Have to go back to try the apple toffee wings because they sound interesting. Will update when I do. Can't say I was very impressed with Wishbone. Experience wasn't great at all and in a city with a large number of places that do wings I doubt I'd be going back. Dublin's a funny place, people seem to adapt to trends like ducks to water but popularity isn't quality. We arrived without a booking and the place was wedged, a friendly staff member did find a seat for us by the window. So, no complaints at all about the staff, nice and friendly. I was very surprised with how busy the place was, I was just passing around dinner time and decided to check it out hadn't really planned eating there so make sure you book ahead. People in Dublin are crazy for wings. I was disappointing with the food. Wings where soggy and not at all crispy. The sauce on the wings was nice but doesn't make up for it. Fries where terrible and tasteless, even a dip barely helped. Price is a little step for what you get. Many much better places in the city for wings if you have a craving. Place feels like it's surfing on a trend rather than being a quality restaurant. read more

BELIEVE THE HYPE! These are seriously good wings. Went in here at about 12:10pm, thinking it would be easy to grab a lunchtime table - wrong! It was already so busy, but they squeezed my friend and I in, which my stomach will be eternally grateful for. I had the Salted Toffee Apple Wings lunch meal (avec chips) and a dip. I had the chilli jam, as a dip. It was just so tasty. The jam made the very standard chips taste so yum! And the wings were unreal. The service was great, and given the failure, that was, Porndog, it's great to see these guys doing so well. Cannot wait to go back!!! Highly recommended, but don't be annoyed if you get there and you have to wait for a table. You may not be as lucky as I was :) read more

The buffalo wings are to die for. I had to wait a half an hour for a table but this wasn't a problem as I just sat at the bar while we waited. Once we were seated the service was super quick. I think the price is also really reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. I'll definitely be eating here again. read more

I'm so glad our taxi driver recommended this place! I'm not much of a wing gal but my husband LOVED their wings and my friend and I really enjoyed the chicken tenders! They also have a nice selection of dipping sauces and sides all for a nice price. However at 9.50€ each the cocktails are tasty, but way overpriced. read more

Was strolling down this little side street off Wexford street and came across this amazing wing bar...popped in and was pleasantly surprised. The buffalo wings beat elephant and castle hands down. Trendy hip spot in a less touristy locale of Dublin. You may be the only tourist in this restaurant, which is a good thing. The wings were cooked beautifully with great sauce covering. Went their to get takeaway wings last Wednesday night, told the waiter we wanted take-away so he gave us a menu. I sat at the bar reading the menu when another waiter comes over, informs us that there is no table available till after nine, we said we were ordering takeaway and he was like sorry we don't do take away (even though I got take away from them last week) then i told him another waiter gave us the menu as we had told him we were getting takeaway(why give the menu you to us in the first place!). The waiter then asked the chef will he do an order for take-away, obviously saying no they're too busy. I felt so annoyed, I have never been treated like this ever, they made us leave the restaurant.... worst place ever. Move over Elephant and Castle there's a new king in town! By far the best chicken wings in Dublin and with the €10 lunch deal its great value for money. A good atmoshpere amd nice staff help too. Overall not a great experience. Had a table booked for 3 at 6:30 and we were sat and ordered quick enough. Our drinks arrived at the same time as the food, it would have been nice to have a few minutes to enjoy the cocktails. We had asked for extra dip which never came but we weren't bothered asking again. Wings were cold to touch about halfway through the meal, don't know if it was the plates or what but I wasn't taking my time. They tasted fine, I had the buffalo and tried the BBQ, neither were anything to write home about. Our plates were cleared away and we were brought a dessert menu so we decided we would have dessert and another round but were then told they needed the table back, at 7:30! So after being there only an hour we were asked to move to the tiny bar, which didn't even have 3 seats for us, to have our dessert. I was not warned we had the table for only an hour, if I did I would not have come. There were plenty of other tables around us and we didn't nearly have the best seats in the house hidden behind the stairs. Naturally we just paid and left, and we won't be back. read more
