Justin is very reliable, courteous, responsive, informative and very quick we love having him around and he is an excellent maintenance guy.

If I could give no stars, I would. I lived here for almost four years and I literally hated every minute of it. There was I don't even know how many employee/manager turnovers in the four years we were there- I lost count. We almost went a full year without a maintenance person and so nothing got fixed unless management deemed it important or an emergency. Every year that we were here, we had a major leak or something break; i.e. backup of pipes underneath us causing a major leak of sewer water on Thanksgiving, shower leaking and causing mold in the bathroom (twice in two separate units), spare bedroom leak causing carpet to smell and have mold, closet shelves falling down in the middle of the night; and so many other things. All of this was like pulling teeth to get fixed or to get anything from them at all. Robbie was the manager for the first two leaks and to be honest; I don't even know how he got to a manager position. He had no customer service abilities at all and was downright just an A** to deal with. Now let's talk about safety and security. When we first moved in, in 2019, there was security who patrolled all the time. That was not in affect for very long before they got rid of them. When the pandemic hit, everything went downhill and fast and Camden did not do anything about it. There were homeless people sleeping in the pool cabanas, bathing in the hot tub, lying unconscious with needles sticking out of their arms in the stairwells... we reported it all and all they told us was to call the police and I mean the police had better things to do understandably so they could never really do anything. Packages constantly being stolen, we were told to get them mailed somewhere else, crazy homeless people fighting in the streets every night at 3am, nothing done, drunk drivers crashing into the gate, nothing done. Someone even killed themself in the parking garage by hanging themself and they didn't even feel the need to let us know. They force you to pay for Valet Trash and they hardly ever pick up the trash when they're supposed to, and when they do they are lazy and refuse to pick up broken down boxes, etc. like they are supposed to. Oh and god forbid you accidentally leave your empty trashcan outside in the morning because they are quick to try to fine you for it. I mean the place is literally falling apart and their is crime everywhere, but you know the trash can is important. They advertise luxury living, there was nothing luxury about it. A month before we moved out, we had already given 60 day notice, I received an email from Lisa, (who I guess was the manager now, IDK) stating that one of the maintenance people had reported that we had an unauthorized pet in our home and we were going to be fined $500. We had our dog who is an ESA certified pet since we moved in, in 2019. I called right away, so upset stating we had an ESA letter on file and I couldn't understand why they were just saying this when we've had our dog there for four years. Lisa said whoever did the paperwork didn't do it properly but she could see that we had the ESA letter on file so she would let it slide since we were moving out in a month anyways. 1. it's not my fault the person did not do the paperwork correctly on their end and 2. they didn't bother checking for the ESA letter before they sent a threatening letter about fining us $500? Insane customer service. A couple of weeks after that we had a power outage and all the refrigerators in the complex basically blew up because they were so old and we were lucky because I called quickly and they gave us an old one from a vacant apartment; but we had to throw out a ton of food and it was leaking everywhere and it was a disaster. The maintenance guy just dumped water everywhere, rolled the fridge out; crashing into several walls on the way; and was like make sure you take pics of these marks that I crashed into so they don't fine you when you move out and left us to clean everything up. This place is ideal if you're not easily bothered by the construction going on next door daily, and on Saturday's at 7 AM (sometimes the trucks are so loud you can hear them at 5 AM) or noises in the wall (water pipes, toddler downstairs banging on the wall, etc etc) There was so much dirt that we couldn't even keep our windows open during the winter time. My boyfriend developed a 4 week cough and we're wondering if it has anything to do with the dirt at this point when we would leave the window s open at night. The most appalling aspect of living here is the managerial staff, specifically Roberto and Mari. I don't usually have to deal with managerial service as I usually am not bothered unless it comes to my sleep. Their lack of communication, empathy, and compassion is such a slap to the face for anyone reaching out with their concerns. What's worse is they seem to forget that WE are the ones paying to live here; they serve us in this community. Don't bother living here unless you are GUARANTEED your concerns are addressed in a professional manner. Honestly, the only thing we have going here is the sunset view... but laced with a slap of construction. It's been 2 months since we've brought the noise concerns up with Roberto and Mari. It's a shame there weren't other managerial staff to ask to speak with. They literally wouldn't even come in at 11 pm or 4-5 AM (we've asked them this a few times) when the noises occur daily but then they would literally have the audacity to say they can't find the source of the noise and they're doing all they can do. After 2 MONTHS of WEEKLY communication we finally get a work order in to get the wall inspected and Mari GAVE the wrong apartment number. I'm not sure what else is more telling of anyone else's experience here. Don't waste your money here. The buildings are nice but what's the point if you can't even step on your balcony, and you're kept up until 1 AM and then at 4 AM on weekdays and then construction on Saturday's. Just don't sleep and you're Gucci. Pros: Views .. ruined by construction Large apartment bc we paid for it Cons: Lack of compassion and understanding Lacks the competence to remember apartment numbers Lack of communication on all levels Inability to let us know when they go on vacation and someone else will handle it Honestly, the location is really good for us and we love the unit we're in. I lived at Sotelo for 3 years, from Jan.2018 to Jan.2021. Initially, management was helpful, honest, and forthcoming with detailed rental information, it was a one reason why we chose Sotelo. We really enjoyed the first year here. Things changed soon after. We had managers, regional managers, temporary managers, or assistant managers at the property, six in total over the 3 years. These are my objective Pros and Cons about living at Camden Sotelo. Pros: * Maintanence staff are helpful, timely, skilled, and professional * A nice, well-maintained pool area *Conveniently located near Downtown Tempe, Tempe Town Lake, ASU, shopping, Light Rail, Spring Training venues, and the 202 Freeway. * Scenic Papago Park is in your backyard * Large apartments with a good size patio for a reasonable base price* * Gas stoves (in some units) and fireplaces * 4 community gas grills (though functionality varies) * Camden-hosted community parties for 4th of July and Super Bowl; happy hour mixers and brunches too (Pre-covid) * Tenants are mostly cordial, respectful, and easy to get along with; we became good friends with some neighbors * Demographics include mostly young professionals and above; not student-heavy * Orbit 'Earth' bus route is close and convenient when needed * A useful community intranet system for bill paying, messages, and service requests * Extra storage space available for a fee * The ability to break the lease for an additional month's rent * Nice office area with a pool table; cornhole by the pool (but it can get annoying if you live by the pool area) * Valet garbage service (although you can't opt out- a big pain point for some) * They have a 500 sf. gym * Minutes from the airport Cons: * Noise from the planes into Phoenix Sky Harbor is almost constant; property located in the direct flight path * High staff turnover * Requires a 60-day notice to vacate * Heavy transient population living/traveling through the area leads to trespassers inside Camden's gates (Occasionally, they take dips in the pool, bathe in the hot tub, or sleep in the cabanas) * Automobile thefts, break-in's, or vandalism is a real issue (No response from Camden/management after three attempts to contact them when my motorcycle was either vandalized or almost stolen) * The base price isn't the total cost; lots of 'required' fees * Paid, assigned parking * Grouped water bills so you pay a percentage of the building's total water costs instead of your individual use * Canceled the helpful community cleaning service personnel; cleanliness got worse once Covid hit * On-site night private security service was canceled soon after our first year, and our rent did not reflect the change in costs * Camden instructs tenants to contact Tempe Police for all afterhours community disturbances * Leasing rules and regulations are rarely enforced by management through fines - only a stern mass email to tenants, so the violations persist * Hallways can reek of hot garbage during the spring/summer months since some people leave their trash outside of their doors all weekend long * Rats. Yes, rats * Overflowing dumpsters * Ponds in a dog area created by a forever-broken irrigation system * A few messy dog owners refuse to pick up their dog's poop * Noisy pool/jacuzzi parties at any given time of the night though the pool area closes at 10pm (50/50 chance police will show, if called) * Heavy construction begins at 6 am; contractors permitted to build till 10 pm during the weekdays per Tempe laws; expect construction Saturday's also * Community-wide internet/power outages are an issue since development began * TV in the gym is busted for over 9 months and never replaced * Some users leave the gym a mess * Disingenuous leasing tactics and lease renewal practices * Owned and operated by a large corporation with a seemingly 'too big to care' attitude so legitimate issues with potential solutions for management may fall on deaf ears read more

PLEASE TRUST ME ON THIS ONE AND STAY AWAY. All the bad reviews are TRUE!!!! The staff at CAMDEN SOTELO are ALL mediocre and trashy. And the place is dirty and poorly managed. Real shame because I used to live @Camden Apartments in San Diego and then Orange County and had a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. Same story with the staff at their Scottsdale location. SUUUUPER NICE. But not here at Sotelo. We were supposed to move in on Nov 1st, 2023 and the staff completely dropped the ball because the unit was not ready for us to move in. Literally, the entire apartment was dirty, mold in the bathroom walls, cabinets, dirty toilets, windows full of dust, dirty floors and nasty kitchen appliances. They even left a TURD IN THE MASTER BD TOILET PEOPLE!!!! YES no lie!!!! BEYOND. And there's MORE ready? A DEAD BIRD INSIDE ONE OF THE CLOSETS. DEAD ANIMALS in what was supposed to be our new home! As any of you can imagine, by the time I saw this I had completely lost it, was furious and told my husband there was no way in hell we could move in to a place LIKE THIS. I have lived at Camden Sotelo for 2 year. I love the location. Near a few eating places and the freeway. The staff is wonderful. Maintenance is really nice and dose good work. They wave at u when you are driving in or out. They are really friendly. The office staff is great and really helpful. The place is smaller and I like that. But the apartments are spacious and big patios. Also have elevators and a garage. When I moved here I was like this is a nice place. Now that I have been here for 2 years. I love it and will recommend to anyone looking for a place close to the freeway and some food spot. This is a place to take a look at. read more

Easily the worst place I've ever lived- there is absolutely nothing "luxury" about these apartments. They're incredibly overpriced for what you ACTUALLY receive- many of my major appliances haven't worked for extended periods of time and management refuses to make it right. In fact, management and staff are largely what makes this place so terrible. You'll be hard pressed to find a management team that cares less about their customers. I've called corporate a number of times and every single time I was sent back to the exact manager I had an issue with. These are some of the most dishonest people you'll ever meet and their corporate structure is equally terrible so good luck getting any real help when you inevitably get screwed over by them. Their communication system is absolutely maddening. We're told not to go to the leasing office to communicate with them, they quite literally NEVER answer the phone, and when you're forced to text with them (the only way you're permitted to speak with someone) you'll talk to literally every person in the office repeating your issue a thousand times over the course of days and you STILL won't get any help. Then they'll treat you like you're the crazy one "oh you aren't happy that you're paying full price for an apartment where literally nothing works? How strange!" If I could caution you away from one single business, Camden would be it one million times over. Moving here will be the stupidest thing you ever do. Please note that pretty much all the positive reviews are several years old. This is a -798588 star apartment under the wildly incompetent management of Lisa McCartney, who really shouldn't be allowed near other people under any circumstances due to her blatant disregard for other people's needs. read more

Updating this review for a few reasons. I will say the staff is still incredible and the property is well maintained. I happen to be unlucky enough to live next to a tenant who plays loud bass almost everyday. Each day I come home my walls are vibrating, I can feel bass in my chest, I even have people over the phone comment on it. Whether it be 7:30am or 4:00am... music is going... I've complained to management and they do the usual send someone down to bug them about it. The bass stops for a couple hours and starts back up. After 5 complaints management really should be doing more than just sending maintenance to the tenant. This is one of the last things I expected after moving in. I personally pay $1400/mn for a 1 bedroom. For that price in Tempe I shouldn't be dealing with hearing my neighbors all day everyday. There are some cheap aspects to the property and this is one of them. Also don't forget airplanes fly right above your apartment and as I said... the units have not been sound proofed. Long story short I ended up breaking my lease and this was a big factor as to why I did. That + after moving from CA I realized I was getting screwed on rent for what I was getting (coming from someone who moved from San Francisco). I have been living Camden Sotelo for around 10 months. I have to say it is the best apt I've ever lived. Alpha is always soooo nice and helpful. She is the first reason I would like to stay with Camden. If you ever met a horrible office staff, you will definitely know how he can influence the quality of your life. The maintenance rocks!!!! Whatever is broken, they are always able to fix it in a second (I swear, no more than 2 seconds). I do admit the price is a little bit higher than average. BUT IT IS WORTH EVERY PENY. You will get what you expected and paid.I really appreciate the high-quality service they provided which made my life so comfortable. Revised items: 1. The Valet Waste is the pointless service of the community. I cannot say they don't take the garbage you left at the door but they do their job depending on their moods? Cross your fingers every night for the garbage. Based on the money I paid for this service, I think they may need to do a better job than right now. 2. Very limited parking spots for visitors. I barely invite my friends to my place. You know why? They have to take the bus to my apt because there is no place to park!! 3. Security needs to be improved. One of our neighbor's car wheel was stolen by someone, I do not know what you guys are going to do with it? Cameras in the garage are the best and the most efficient way to prevent this kind of accident from happening in the future. We lived at Camden Sotelo at 615 E Weber Dr for 4 years. It was the worst place I ever rented. Staff was not responsive. Neighbors had two little barking dogs. Camden did nothing about it. The manager there by the name of Robbie was horrible. It always felt like a prison guard just waiting to catch you at something. Very bad neighborhood. Cars were always broken into. I have lived almost 5 years because it is convenient to my work. While we have had some great managers, the morecent ones have been awful. In the past 6 months or so things have really gone down the tubes. Garbage sits for days, sometimes weeks and when you go into the office to ask for it to be taken out it's still takes days to be picked up. The smell is getting so bad it's like a fraternity house. They advertise they have a workout facility on site and they do, but most of the time the equipment isn't working. Actually it's completely outdated. We used to have a very nice lady that cleaned the elevators and vacuumed each floor and cleaned up the grounds, not sure where she went, but nothing has been cleaned up in weeks. I would not recommend living here you will be disappointed. The new manager now likes to send weekly notes on how you will be fined if you don't follow the rules. Lastly, they are building more apartments just outside of the gates starting in March, but haven't told residents that this construction will be happening. Responding to Camden. First of all never mentioned anything about pets so not sure why that was brought up. When I say things aren't cleaned it has nothing to do with pets it's the elevators and also the carpets in the hallways! Understand why the garbage wasn't taken out over the holidays, however it sat for almost 2 weeks and you were open. As a matter of fact, the trash bin was emptied after quite a bit of time but the trash next to it wasn't taken and that piled up. Also, try the elliptical and see how much noise that makes and has for 5 years. Equipment needs to be updated! Also TV's don't work on any of the equipment and it's not the first time this has happened. They actually haven't worked on any but one for sometime. read more

There is a way to break a lease on an apartment. It's called the 5 Day Notice Request for repairs. Under Arizona statute 33-1361A, 33-1324-A the landlord has 5 days to inspect and repair anything inside the unit that pose a health and safety non-compliance. Mine was easy, cockroaches for 7 months and leaking ceiling in the master closet complete with peeling drywall and mold. Thanks upstairs neighbor for giving me an out. After over 2 dozen complaints to the camden idiots, I contacted an attorney. The best part is if you serve them on a Thursday, that will not give them enough time to get inside and make repairs. I asked them nicely to help, then no so much over time then really not at all after more time. It all fell on deaf ears. The staff is weak. ARS -1367 protects you from unlawful entry to your unit. Put two and two together folks and find a new place to live. I did. Bought a house in another state. The place is full of low life, roaches, the 2 and 6 legged kind and the ones that pretend to work in the office. Car thieves, noisy inconsiderate jerk neighbor below me in 1008 making noise all day. Neighbor upstairs smoking weed all day, at least buy some good smelling stuff huh? Neighbors throw bulk trash like mattress's near the dumpster but not in the dumpster. People work on cars in the garage and parking lot. The staff must say, "can't see it from here so must not be true". Well jerks, explain away why I left, to your corp office, but they probably don't care either as long as they make a buck. I hope this keeps people from making the same mistake that I did. I used to love Camden when I first moved in. I'll be completely honest though, this is NOT a safe property to live in. There's a large homeless population surrounding this community, who continue to break into cars, follow women to their units, pee in the elevators, try to break into apartments, steal packages, etc. This has been an ongoing issue for well over a year and it only continues to get worse and worse. The tenants have begged and continue to beg for better security precautions, such as security on premise or actively watched security cameras. The most of the new management does not communicate with anyone, and did not even bother to notify when a female tenant was followed to her apartment in broad daylight. The lack of care is absolutely disgusting, and it goes further than just the office staff. The corporate side of Camden claims they don't have the money to add key fobs to the elevators & stairwells, or add security cameras to hallways when all of our rent has increased nearly $1000 in the past 6 months. I'm terrified to walk to the garage to get to my car at this point. Something has to change, and most of us tenants fear that will only happen once someone gets hurt. Hope it doesn't reach that point, but it's not looking good. If you're looking for a safe community, this is probably not the home for you. read more

Best apartment complex in Tempe hands down. Yes it is pricy, but you get what you pay for. The units are beautiful, the grounds are well maintained, the maintenance staff is prompt and very friendly. Reserved underground parking is a HUGE bonus in the AZ heat and with the crazy monsoons - your car stays cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and not crushed by falling trees :) Overall my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time living here. It is a pretty quiet complex, you don't hear too much noise from other residents which is always a consoderation with apartment living. Every time I put in a maintenance ticket it was taken care of same day, I once put in a ticket on a Sunday for them to replace my air filter and had a knock on my door within an hour! Wow! The office staff (shoutout to Apha and Albert) are all very professional and were always quick to answer any questions or emails I sent. I also was very pleasantly surprised to receive my whole deposit back after moving out. That is the true test of any apartment - I was worried they would try to nickel and dime me for any tiny damages they could find but I was very pleased that the did not! Seriously, I have nothing bad to say at all about this place. I would recommend Camden Sotelo very highly to anyone! read more

I arrived to friendly Analicia Diaz whom greeted me right away. I walked into resident brunch that Analicia was hosting with bagel/cream cheese chatting with residents. Love it! We chatted for bit and off to see the 1 bedroom apartment. First.. Grounds are amazing! You can tell they have good maintenance staff and underground parking comes with your apartment! 1 bedroom apartment is very spacious at 880 SF with plenty of room to put all your things with the layout. I was shocked by gas stove(rare find in apartments), side/side fridge(with water dispenser) and full size washer/dryer inside the unit. Pool area has every luxury that you could think of with grills, cabana to hang out by pool and fireplace. It's safe to say I have found my next apartment home! I can not wait until my current lease is up. read more

An apartment locator recommended Camden Sotelo to me, along with other complexes. It was the first one I visited. I pretty much knew I would choose it immediately. I was warmly greeted by Alpha, who showed me the grounds, the apartment I would likely choose, and answered any questions I had. I especially liked the fact that the complex is dog-friendly. I moved in about a month and a half later and have felt quite at home. The management team is very efficient and responds quickly to service requests. Annalicia promptly notified Jasmine and Alvin about a few maintenance issues and it was no time before they took care of the issue. I'm looking forward to my stay here. read more

Indentations???!!! Of course there's going to be indentations! Anywhere there is furniture there is going to be indentations. Where's peoples furniture supposed to be at, hanging in the air?You clearly didn't clean it and took advantage when you could have just cleaned it should have just charged a cleaning fee and walk away on good terms. This community is very unreliable. They have had many yelp pages and continue to create new yelp pages. I had neighbors complain about roaches in their apartments and ask me if I had any. Though in my experience it has been relatively bug free (but then again I'm neater than most). Appliances are constantly breaking and I'm not home to have maintenance come help. I do it myself because I'm handy and know how to. Maintenance can come when I'm not home. However there was a security risk during the time I lived here due to robberies. (From what I heard) In general I don't like people in my house when I'm not there. There was a security meeting with the police to better ensure our safety and code changes on the community gate. Although there have been so many problems with the gate and constant maintenance. THE WALLS ARE THIN! I could hear everything around me. My neighbor whenever she uses her cutting board in the kitchen I can hear it. The tenant that was above me with his large dog I could hear them run around the apartment constantly. I COULD HEAR HIS PHONE ON VIBRATE WHEN IT WAS ON HIS NIGHT STAND! There is always noise coming from the park across the street and cars driving at night that you can hear. The plumbing was not done by a professional in my opinion. Whenever I turn on the air conditioning loud gurgling noises come from my bathroom sink. The appliances may look fancy, but they seem to have poor quality except the Kitchen. The kitchen is amazing. The kitchen is the only reason I like this place. My boyfriend is a brilliant chef and he loves the kitchen. In general the floor plan is incredibly spacious. Management is irritating to deal with. I was on a camping trip and just so happened to have cell phone service, received an email saying that they had misplaced my leasing information and needed me to find it for them or they were going to kick me out. I had already been living in the community under a year lease for several months and they were ready to evict me because of their disorganization. That was the last straw for me. I was planning on staying in this community for 3 more years. The neighbors on my floor were also extremely hostile to one of my old neighbors and myself until my other neighbor left. I don't' have proof of it because I never reported anything. OVERALL I am very indifferent to this place. There were some good things and bad. I didn't mention much of the good because well its personal preferences that I liked, for example almost no college kids and no loud parties. Which is the main reason I wanted to live here. P.S. There was a management change during the time I stayed here, the new management seems to be more improved but not significantly. read more

My girlfriend and I have been living in Camden Sotelo for over 4 months. I have to say this place is absolutely amazing! The office staff is the biggest reason I love this place. Tomás is THE best office staff I have met, anywhere. He even brought a care package for our cat a few weeks after moving in! The pool area is beautiful, and there is even corn-hole in the pool area. The gym is great for daily workouts. Beautiful walking areas within the complex with green grass and some dog parks. There are even doggy waste areas. At my old apartment we had these waste areas but nobody used them. At Camden Sotelo, I haven't seen any waste in the grass! The residents of this community are always friendly and social and say "Hi" and "How are you doing?" There is also coffee, hot coco, dog treats, water bottles and a pool table in the management office. Management has thrown a few events in the office including complimentary breakfast/brunch, Oktoberfest, and even a taco bar just since moving in only 4 months ago. I've already said the office staff is amazing, but the maintenance staff is also always on top of everything that happens. I don't think a single problem I've had has lasted more than a day (mostly small problems like a ding on a door, doors not latching closed or cracked outlet covers). There are a few things that happen, just like at every apartment complex, but not nearly as bad as places I've been in. We live on the second floor, so there someone is above us. There is some noise from moving around but not too much to be a problem. I don't hear much, if any, noise from my neighbors on my sides. You can hear airplanes flying by but we live on the corner of the complex with our window facing where they come in from. The valet waste pickup is actually not that bad. There's only been a few instances where they haven't picked up our trash but we tell Tomás and he actually comes by and picks it up himself while we're at work because he truly does care about the residents. When I moved in there were a few incidents in the parking garage that other reviews have commented on. The office has taken note and has installed security cameras. They even tell us if something happens and what the criminal looks like so the community can call in if they see anything suspicious. I say that they are definitely taking this seriously and are trying their hardest to bring an end to these criminals. Overall, this place feels like home. I plan on staying here for a long time! Moved here a year and 6 months ago from our apartment in Scottsdale. It's the perfect location next to the 202. Very convenient for my work and my wife's. I feel like im on vacation when laying by the pool. There is always complimentary water and Starbucks coffee (not that Keurig crap). At night we simply put or trashcan outside our door and a trash service comes to pick it up. Easy peezy. The staff is hands down the best! Front office gets an A and even an A+ when Albert is running the place. Adam and Justin fix and handle just about everything. They are always friendly! My dog likes them both. Lol I would recommend this community to anyone looking for an upscale, safe place to live. read more

Camden Sotelo is an awesome property with a friendly, attentive, outstanding staff! The buildings are constructed very well and I love the property layout. Despite being so close to the airport (which is very convenient if you plan to have lots of out-of-town visitors like us) we NEVER hear the airplanes inside our apartment. The property is just big enough but also not so large that it feels like a maize. I believe units were originally designed as condos but during the housing market crash they were transformed into apartments - therefore, the floor plans are very well thought out and practical. The provided underground parking garage and security of the complex are also great. You get TWO parking spots (unheard of in most apartment complexes) which is practical if you plan to have two people with cars living in the unit. We moved from a 2200 square foot home out-of-state to a 1480 square foot unit in Camden Sotelo and have not missed our large house once! You simply can't beat the location of Camden Sotelo! There's a cute park across the street, a larger park around the corner with a playground and basketball courts, and access to Tempe lake a few blocks away. It's also situated near Papago Mountain/Park, the Phoenix Zoo, and Desert Botanical Gardens. Across the bridge and you're in the heart of downtown Tempe on Mill Street and it's only a 8-10 minute drive to downtown Scottsdale. It's also situated right off of the 202 highway which is very convenient. We were nervous that with this property being so close to ASU, it would be filled with students and a college/party zone. Although I'm sure there are some students living here, we haven't had any issues and it seems like most residents are young adults/families. Everyone is friendly and it has a nice community feel to it. Our experiences with all staff have been great and they are friendly, approachable, and professional. Anytime I've made a request it's been processed within 24-hours. We LOVE Camden Sotelo and it's definitely a property to check out! read more

We have lived at Sotelo for almost three years. I can not fit enough of our great experience here. The complete staff are always willing to help in anyway they can. Anytime we have had a small or bigger problem in our "home" Justin was always on top of our issues. If I could give this place 0 stars I really would it's such a joke!!! this complex is WAAYYYY over priced and doesn't even have appliances that work. management is complete shit they can't even manage the current buildings they have yet feel the need to build another complex right next door. Valet trash that you pay for (sometimes even charged twice for) picks and chooses when they won't to come around and pick up trash in their scheduled days. IF your service request is answered it takes about 5 days and that's IF THEY ANSWER IT and not just mark it as completed without doing anything or even coming to check it. They say they'll fix a problem but you won't hear back from them, this included management. RAVEN IS ALSO A STRAIGHT A BITCH AND DOESNT KNOW HER JOB, i refuse to have anything to do with her! They lie out if their ass and are never in office! I say this because I'm trying to save you from such a horrible experience, DO NOT MOVE TO CAMDEN SOTELO! I wouldn't trust any Camden complexes honestly they're all ran by the same SHITTY management team! read more

I have mixed reviews about this place, which is reflected on the multiple yelp pages they keep creating. They usually stem from a change in management, which is why I absolutely disagree with the last review, and that is my number one complaint. This management is incompetent and incapable of running the apartment complex. I have lived in 17 different apartments over years and I have never encountered such BS from a management team as I have from Albert and Sabrina. I have voicemails from Albert saying one thing, and then in person the rules are different because I came into the office too late. Sabrina admits to making up policies on leases regardless of whatever it says on the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. The two of them kept citing "Arizona law" yet when I asked them to show me where it says these things, I was told to look it up online - I had a copy sitting in my car, thanks. These two literally run the complex as if it were a sorority or fraternity. Instead of hosting happy hours and fiestas though, they should be concentrating on their business affairs, which is of very poor quality. For example, I was also excluded from all communication regarding the lease because I didn't reply back to their "get to know me" cards they sent out when they took over the apartment. Really? I didn't know that these cards took precedence over the forms of communication indicated on the lease. Here is another example. Similar to Mell on a previous review, I also just got an email letting me know that my renter's insurance needs to be updated within the next 3 days. MY LEASE ENDS FRIDAY. Are they planning on evicting me 2 days before my lease ends? I guess we'll find out. Many of the "policies" that these two try to enforce, or rather the way they try to enforce them are literally the most ridiculous acts I have ever encountered from a business - if you can even call it a business. Having been through 3 management turnovers since I leased this apartment, I can honestly say that these two are the worst. At least the 2 prior to them were professional and tried to work with you as opposed to making up BS. This apartment complex has been a burden since I moved in, and I cannot wait to be done with them on Friday. I will update on how that goes, because given the last year, I don't anticipate on a smooth transition. read more

I recently moved to Camden Sotelo at the end of March and due to a change in job relocation, we had to leave after only being there for four months. During that time, the management team has been so professional and caring and I've met our needs in every way possible. From the minute we walked in we felt like we were part of a family and anytime there was an issue it was dealt with in a professional and persistent manner. One of our favorite employees was the assistant manager, Tomas Sanchez. He was so polite and energetic and absolutely went over the top to make sure that everyone there was happy and he always was so personable and caring toward each and everyone of us! We understand that he is no longer At Camden Sotelo that we know that whatever he has transferred to, he will be a welcome asset and they will love him there just as much as we have at Camden Sotelo. I also would like to give a shout out to Mira who was the groundskeeper employee because she kept the place looking absolutely beautiful. Whether it was in 115° weather or cool she never stopped giving 100% of her time in her work ethics and personality. I echo many of the comments in the reviews below. I do not live here; but I have visited and stayed with my sister on many occasions. I spent the last week at Sotelo on vacation. The apartments are aesthetically nice, and the amenities (including the pool) are great. But, as at least one other reviewer has mentioned, the walls are incredibly THIN. My sister and I struggled to sleep this week because we could hear a loud banging or stomping sound from the apartment above her (during early morning hours 2:00-5:00 AM). This has unfortunately been an ongoing problem. It's unclear whether the tenant above is exercising, owns an elephant, or is merely walking around his or her apartment . If it is the case that the person is merely walking around, that speaks to the terrible construction of these apartments. I have never lived or been in an apartment where walking on the floor above projects so sharply to the apartment below. This problem has been brought to management's attention. Thus far, they have failed to address it and, instead, insist on increasing the rent. read more

I'll preface this by saying I have never written a negative review for any establishment. I have attempted to tour Camden Sotelo twice in the last week. I made an appointment and showed up on time, then spoke to Lexi who told me the apartment would not be available until later in the week. She did not call or email me letting me know not to come. Rather, I drove an hour to see an apartment that wasn't available. I scheduled another appointment on the morning the apartment became available, drove another hour, and once again met Lexi for the tour. This time, she told me the apartment had already been rented. And once again, no call, email, or any other communication to let me know. Lexi was rather rude and never offered an apology for wasting hours of my time. On the bright side, I spoke to Travis over the phone a few times and he was very friendly and helpful. read more

Just recently ended my lease after living for 1.5 years. New management again and they are unhelpful. Robbie is unfriendly and stand offish. Well if you make a payment to your rent you get a payment confirmation in which management will tell you it doesn't count. Instead of contacting you right away they send you a letter a week later hacking on late fees. This all happened after I decided not to renew my lease. I had to make several calls and visit to get this resolved. They refused to give me a pro rate for my last month. When I got a bill for $56 dollar to pay for half the moths water bill for having to stay 1 more day till the December 1st I was upset. I called up Lexi and asked why should I be charged for half a month water bill typically $100-$130 since the building has no meter. You have to pay everyone else's water bill. She informed me she will take care of it and I don't have to pay for it. She stated since I was her first lease she did not explain it well to me and said not to worry. Now it's 2 week later, it's not taken cared of and I have another $50ish hack into my bill. I reached out hoping for a answer. No I will not pay for something I was promised would be taken cared of. I am truly upset by this place. Maintenance is good. They charged everyone $150 cleaning fee to move out which is ridiculous. When I moved in the cleaning was subpar and I still had to clean up after the last residents. Live here if you like empty promises, car stolen or broken into, enjoy paying other people's water bills, valet trash for $35 a month and they don't always pick it up, and management with bad/ horrible communication and additive. They keep raising the rent and nothing changes. I regret moving there! I have never written a review about an apartment till today. Please save your money and run!!!!! read more

I just moved in to Camden Sotelo and the entire team has been amazing! The maintenance team is super responsive and the office team has been a huge help. The hallways and elevators are kept clean in addition to the parking garage. We have a 2bd2ba Sable which is huge and perfect for roommates. They have even larger floor plans and you can get a huge 4th floor penthouse! You can't beat the location either. It's right on the Tempe/Scottsdale border so you get the best of both cities! We've eaten out so many times already to local restaurants and have a bunch more to try. ASU, Old Town Scottsdale, Tempe Marketplace, and Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall are all within 5-10 minutes from your home! read more

Where shall I start . i just went in the garage for my car and a homeless guy was walking around trying to see if cars were unlocked , they never answer the phone and tell u to call the emergency line for the police but the guy will be long gone before they Tempe pd gets here .every other day I'm hearing people have the catalytic converter stolen off there car . I've seen at least 20 people moving out within the last week .that's really all I needed to see I am trying to find a way to get out of my lease. Management never answers there phone or emails it's like h call the number and your directed to a call center which is dumb because they never know anything . Long hold times . garbage lady comes when she feels like it . Elevators and gates are always broken . Roaches have been coming in my building for some odd reason I'm pretty clean and that doesn't seem to matter . parking is really bad in the guest parking . i hate parking in the garage because it's always a home less person walking around some body found zip ties and guess what camden does nothing . If you can get over the price it is a great community to live in. The amenities are nice, the units are very large and spacious, but the best part of living there was the staff. Justin (and the rest of the maintenance staff in particular) were always beyond helpful. Office management was accommodating and kind. The gym is limited but enough. Also love the underground parking for residents. The lack of guest parking can be frustrating, as there are places around the property where more parking spaces could be put in. Also, as silly as it may sound, the elevators were SO SLOW! It is 2017 and the elevators should be able to get up and down quickly. read more

The main thing I wanted to have noted about the property is that many that work for Camden live here. You pay for what you get here. Location and size of the units both are what sold me on living here. Also, despite running into a few issues in the beginning, the staff addressed it all Perfectly. Josh the director of Maintenance has been in constant contact with us since day one and has made us feel like family. When I first visited the property, he actually went above and beyond by touring the property with me because the leasing agents and managers were busy at the time. That gesture is what initially made me bring my wife back the same day and sign our lease. Overall, this is a great place to be. Thank you Camden. I have signed 2 leases at Camden and I don't have many complaints about this place. Albert, Alpha, Hailey, and the maintenance staff are all great. All service requests are completed promptly and nothing is ever missed in the process. My only complaint is that the grounds seem to be less than perfect lately. A lot of dead and drying patches in the grass, the painters that are handling the current job leave trash and signs thrown about, parking is horrible but not a huge deal. Will I sign a 3rd year? I am updating my review for Camden Sotelo - keeping it at 5 stars - I felt the need to further express my complete satisfaction during my time as a resident. I left Camden Sotelo last month after renewing my lease 3 times and I was so sad to go (I am relocating to a different state). I have zero complaints during my time at Camden. The apartment itself was full of high quality everything! The kitchen appliances were great - double door fridge with water and ice dispenser, gas stove, etc. Both the kitchen and bathrooms are spacious with beautiful granite countertops and wood cabinets. The walk in closets were great and the hall closet for added storage is a bonus. One of our bathrooms had a walk in shower with shower bench and the other had a shower tub - both were wonderful. The amenities are well-kept and clean. The pool is great with cabanas and everyone in the community is friendly and neighborly. The gym was also well equipped. We also had an on-site storage unit that was so convenient and parked in the on-site garage below our unit. The community is also gated with security. Finally - I can't say enough about the staff of Camden Sotelo. They were always prompt, friendly, genuine, and happy to help. I'll never forget the property manager, Albert, coming to change the air filter in my unit himself because the maintenance man was out because his wife was having their baby. And another time he came and personally jumped my car battery for me with his car in the 90°+ heat because my battery died. The maintenance crew became friends that always waved hello (Adam & Justin) and were always so quick with helping with anything we needed. We also had great experiences with Alpha who worked with us on renewing our lease. I highly recommend this property to anyone living in the Tempe area - you won't be disappointed. I am sad to leave and fear that nothing can compare to this again! read more
