I have been skiing all my life in mountains big and small, and Camelback has to be the worst experience in my life. I am lucky to have come out of the mountain alive. I hopefully keep my ski friends as friends. 1. Dangerous Ski Environments: Distracted skiers on selfie sticks, skiing while making phone calls, crashing into lift lines, and etc. Behavior that gets people a warning, if not kicked out is commonplace here. 2. Bad Mountain Management: Only 50% of the mountain was open when neighboring ones were 90%+. Snow making simply wasn't happening on the unopened trails, but there was a burst pipe leaking water that the locals said had been busted for 2 weeks. 3. Insufficient Staff = Long Waits: From long lift lines to crazy waits for food at the dining hall, the staff was 60% below what they needed to be. You had single riders going up 6 person lifts because no one was managing the lift lines at times. We had to chase after wait staff after not being seen at our table for 20 min. The staff was lovely and tried so hard, but there wasn't enough of them. I am never coming back. My friends are never coming back. Everyone I met on the chair lift who traveled for this mountain is never coming back. I don't want a response from Camelback apologizing. I want transparency why you cost so much yet deliver so little value and create a dangerous ski environment. Please do better. In the meantime, I recommend everyone else avoid this mountain in the interest of your physical, financial, and social wellbeing.

They charge for parking. I have been to several ski resorts in Buffalo and California and I haven't seen people charging for parking. The not too near parking is $35. The far parking is $12. However it was very beginner's friendly for someone who skied for 3 times like me. Their bunny hill is short enough and has a lift. They didn't have any carpet lift though.

TLDR: my children had fun, the rooms are clean, but service is absolutely disorganized and front desk is absolutely rude. Pros: -My children had a fun, enjoyable trip -Rooms are clean and housekeepers are all kind -Access to Aquatopia on check-in and checkout days Cons: Restaurant and front desk service was HORRIBLE. After waiting in line for check-in (40 mins), we were told we'd get a text when our room was ready. We got a text that said our room was ready for us and nothing else so we walked over to our assigned room to find that our bands didn't work. At this point my 2 year old was screaming his head off so my older son and I trekked back to the long line in the lobby. When we reached the desk we were told that we were supposed to have come back to the lobby first to activate the band. When I inquired how we were supposed to know that if no one told us, the male employee stated arrogantly, "it says it in the text message." When I said it didn't, he ARGUED with me that it did. So I showed him the text, which clearly didn't say it, and then he indignantly responded, "well they told you at check in." I responded the lady at check-in did not, to which he then argued with me AGAIN, adamant that she did even when he wasn't there. A simple apology would've sufficed but no, he instead decided to accuse me twice of not telling the truth. I dropped it and moved on because at this point my husband and baby had been waiting in front of our locked room for 20 minutes. We also had a digital gift card, which apparently no one in the resort knows how to use. I called the front desk before trying to use, and I was assured all the restaurants would take them. So we went to the coffee shop, waited in line, just to find they did not know how to use a virtual gift card. We then went to the pizza restaurant, waited in line again, and then found they also could not figure out how to use the gift card. I asked them if they could just charge the room and then have the hotel take the charges out of the gift card and they said no, and told me to go back to the front desk for assistance. At this point, my children were crying again out of hunger, as it had now been 20 minutes of waiting and wandering trying to find anyone who knew how to use the gift card. We tried a third grab&go location, to which the employee there confidently told me that none of the places take virtual gift cards and that I must go to the lobby to exchange it for a physical gift card. So I went to the front desk, and was told no, they don't have physical gift cards to exchange, and that yes, I should've just charged my room like I suggested at the pizza shop. So down again we went with our crying children, finally able to order their overpriced mediocre food. Another con is Aquatopia is getting rundown. The plaster on the ground in the kid's area is crumbling, leaving sharp cracks. My son cut his toe when he stepped on one of these areas! They try to cover the cracks/sharp areas with black mats but clearly they shift with the water. Other helpful random info: $30 per hour late checkout, which the fee is not posted $25 self parking per night $14 milkshakes, $8 muffins $40 arcade gets you about 20 mins of entertainment and tickets to get about 75 cents worth of prizes.

We paid around $1368 to stay at the resort for two nights with 6 people. We had to pay an additional $25 per car per night. In the price, I had purchased the snow tubing passes for each guest. There was a huge line for check in, and when we finally got to check in, we were told we could park anywhere except 15 minute parking. There were no parking spots, you had to park on the grass coming up the hill where it was dangerous to be getting kids and dogs out of the car. I have to pay for parking but yet can't even get a safe parking spot. We were told we could not use our snowtubing passes until Sunday because apparently, they are no good on Friday or Saturday. The room was setup for 4 people instead of 6 even though that's what we purchased, but no big deal, they were quickly accommodating to bring us extra towels and blankets. And I realize that they may not know which room they are giving us until we get there. However, the room was not well cleaned as we found hair ties, hair clips, and straws on the floor. We also noticed right away that the dresser drawers would not stay shut and the toilet seat was broken. When one of the kids unfolded the sofa bed to lay down around 7pm, he found a blood stain on the sheet (pictured below), I notified the front and was told someone would be up shortly. At 930pm no one had come up yet. I notified the front again, a housekeep came up and took the sheet and left new ones. When he took off the sheet it got caught on something and ripped, which caused us to notice there was an issue with the sofa bed causing it to lean drastically. (also pictured below) The sofa bed was missing a bolt, so it was not held together on the right side, and the metal frame was detached. I called the front desk and they sent maintenance up. The maintenance guy could not fix it and said the other side was bent as well, so even if he could fix it, no guarantee it would last the night. He went to the front desk with me to let them know. I at this point asked for a different room. In which they said they had none available but could bring up a roll away bed. They assured me that the bed would be large enough to fit two people. I requested a compensation considering we paid for a room with two beds and a sofa bed to fit 6 people for a reason and now could not even use it. The guy gave me attitude saying that he was just trying to find a resolution to the issue and had not been able to review the account. Never offered to review it or anything further. The housekeeper brought up the roll away bed which was only big enough for one person although I was told when I asked multiple times it could fit two. He had to go get us another one so we could sleep the 6 people we reserved the room for. At this point it was late enough we just wanted to go to bed. My son laid down on the one roll away bed and sunk down like a hammock. They realized that the bed as well was broken. At this point we just suffered through it because although it was broken and not comfortable, it was at least usable. When we checked out, I requested a compensation considering we didn't get what we paid for and quite frankly the amount we paid we should have at least had a clean room. I was told they would have to review the situation. I reminded them that they already had sent maintenance and housekeeping up and was told they couldn't fix the bed. They gave me $100 "hospitality" refund. Which is better than nothing but quite frankly not worth all the hassle we went through. The only positive I have to say, is you can use the waterpark each day you are there not just once per stay like it was advertised. In the future we would stay at Kalahari or somewhere else. and just do day attractions if we want to use the snowtubing or slopes. Also, if you are considering eating, I would go early for dinner. We went to the Thirsty Camel at 7pm Sunday and the kitchen was already closed. We along with a shuttle full of other people then had to go to Trails End Pub but they were not accepting walk ins. We were told we could sit and eat but we had to go to the bar to order everything. Saturday night we had went to Graffiti pizza. It was $20 or more per pizza which was an 8 cut and based on the box size you would have thought would be decent but in reality, the pizza was not much larger than a paper plate.

We stayed for two days and one night. 6/4/25-6-5/25. We are a family of four. Myself, husband and two kids aged 1 and 7. Our 7 year old is wheelchair bound and our 1 year old isn't walking without help yet. We stayed Wednesday - Thursday. Our room was ready before the 4:00 check in. It was ready about 12:00 pm. Once arriving to our room it was very clean and a cute little room for us 4 (plus my sister). We had a outdoor space which was also clean. Aquatopia was fun! We didn't notice anything dirty as others have stated. The wave pool, kid areas and slide areas were clean and refreshing. The steps to the slides are killer but that isn't their fault. It wasn't packed when we were there which was great! They had water wheelchairs which we used for my daughter so we were super thankful for that. The only downfall with those is there wasn't any seatbelts which would have been nice. Everything BUT the slides were accessible via wheelchair. That's one of the biggest things I try and research before spending the money on a place. My daughter's personal wheelchair fit perfectly through our hotel room, restroom, arcade literally everywhere. We were super pleased with that as it's the most important thing for our family having a child that is wheelchair bound. All of the employees we've spoke with in regards to anything were very kind, welcoming and helpful. The arcade was super fun. My daughter loves it and won over 2,000 tickets. We purchased the $75 card. It was worth it for us and the kids had a blast. Some downfalls, the fee to pay for parking. I can understand for day guest but we booked a room for the night and there shouldn't have been a fee. The restaurant hours were weird. They had weird open and closed times. The Pub was one of the only places open when we wanted to grab a bite then got down there to see the prices were absurd so we left and went down the street to Tony's Pizza. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay and will definitely be coming back but for a longer stay. Thanks Camelback for making it a great time for my children and especially for my daughter being able to participate in water play with her brother and the arcade as well.

Fun mountain in the Poconos that has the weekend crowds and is better during the mid-week. They have a lot of fun trails, good lift system, and food amenities on site. My problem with the weekends are that the skiers/snowboarders ski how they drive in Philly/Jersey on the beginner/intermediate trails where people are still learning how to ski. It can be a bit reckless. Their ski school is great and I heavily recommend them for sure!

Haven't been on skiis in many many years. I was nervous at first then I got my groove back!!! This was a good azz time with my new ski buddies!!i would say the night skiing was great!!! The slopes had good signage so you could stay on the correct path. We went during the week and it was not crowded at all. The lodge was cute had a sandwich it wasn't bad and the drinks were a nice pour. Overall I really enjoyed myself.

I really enjoyed my experience at the Camelback ski resort. I went with a group of 29 women. I personally skiiec on the green and blue slopes after it rained the previous day. The slopes had man-made snow on it, which helped with the skidding down the mountain. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded, which was nice to see people from all demographics represented at this location, but it was hard when I was on the easier slopes because there were many people learning for the first time. I loved the food options that they had available. They ranged from sandwiches, to mac & cheese, to burgers and salad at the Amazon go check out restaurant. They also had pho and some other options as well. I really enjoyed the Belgian waffle that I had when I was on my last ski run. However, they ran out of all hot beverages which was unfortunate. I would recommend going to this location because of the kind staff at the lower level, ski boots and ski rentals. However, I heard from the ladies that I was with that the lessons could've been better because there was (teenage) young staff teaching a big group

It's so much fun to go after dark! They have some lights up and a hot chocolate shack and they had a bar that said online closed at 8 but it closed early. They had a few fire pit style tables some were working some weren't. We noticed the later the night got the less they fixed the snow on the slopes and the bumpier it because. But the lines moved really fast

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Camelback Resort over Memorial Day weekend…read morewas disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. My family and I checked in on Friday and were scheduled to stay through Monday. We arrived in time for the advertised 4:00 PM check-in, only to find the resort completely overwhelmed. After waiting approximately an hour and a half, our room was not ready until nearly 6:00 PM. On Saturday, we spent the day at the indoor waterpark and rented Cabana 1. The highlight of our trip was our waiter, Andre, who provided exceptional service and was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend took a turn for the worse. Later that afternoon, my daughter began feeling unwell and developed a fever. I went to the resort gift shop looking for children's Tylenol or ibuprofen, only to discover they carried neither. For a family-focused resort catering primarily to children, I found it surprising and concerning that basic over-the-counter children's fever medication was not available for purchase. When I asked for assistance, I was handed a first-aid packet containing aspirin, which is not something I would ever give to a child. Because my daughter's fever continued to rise, we made the difficult decision to cut our vacation short and return home that evening. Before leaving, we arranged for bell services to assist with our luggage from Room 529. I personally packed all of our belongings and helped Evan, our bell boy, load everything onto the luggage cart. Once home, while unpacking after tending to my daughter, I realized a mesh bag containing several items was missing, including my husband's Burberry swim trunks, my daughter's RuffleButts swimsuit, and her water shoes. The following day, I contacted the front desk, Lost & Found, and asked to speak to Evan at the bell services department. My information was taken, and I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I followed up again several days later and received the same response. No manager was available, no Evan, no answers were provided, and none of our belongings were ever recovered. While losing personal items is frustrating enough, what was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up, accountability, or customer service. Not one person contacted me as promised. Not one manager reached out to address the situation. Between the delayed check-in, lack of basic children's medication availability, and the disappearance of our belongings followed by zero communication from management, this was not the family vacation experience we expected. I can overlook mistakes. I cannot overlook poor customer service and a complete failure to address a guest's concerns. Sadly, after this experience, I would not return to Camelback Resort.

(This was a few months ago so the details could be a bit iffy.)…read more This was a very impromptu trip and everything at Edge of the Woods makes doing that easy. Head to the website, book the date & time you want and you're done. www.watergapadventure.com/river-trips A few things worth noting: They offer multiple trip lengths. The standard 4-, 6- and 10-mile trip (Smithfield to Portland) are all booked generically and then when you get there you tell them what you want to do. All pricing is the same which believe me compared to others companies, that's very different - in a good way. They do offer two other longer trips but those require calls to the main office I assume to assess river conditions; your own competency and shuttle availability. The main office in Delaware Water Gap is very easy to find and there was plenty of parking on a quiet post-Labor Day Monday. You check in, you're handed a laminated map, life jacket and given a brief route explanation and then you're off in the van. One problem arose and it was kind of a PIA but it was worked around. Most companies have different types/sizes/models of kayaks and quite often, will ask you what you prefer. Not here. When we left the office, the guy driving didn't say a word to me until we get to Smithfield Beach to unload. He had a few kayaks pre-loaded in the carrier but definitely did not look at them before we left. One of them had a broken foot pedal that he said couldn't be used, another was very much designed for a smaller individual (i.e. if you're taller and/or taller & larger it ain't happening safely) which only left two tandem models. Using a tandem as a single individual is not the end of the world but especially when the seats are still left in the two person configuration (i.e. one front and one back versus the rear one being placed more towards the middle), it's a PIA to maneuver the craft and you are paddling harder to get the job done compared to a single. The scenery along the route was decent. You could see a bit of the Shawnee Resort and Golf Course, an old stone bridge abutment in the middle of the river, under and along 80 and then when you get into the Water Gap itself with the high cliff sides. Very picturesque. Once you go under the old train viaduct in Portland, you give the office a call for the shuttle to meet you at the out point which is at the Portland Pedestrian Bridge. The whole experience was about four hours door to door to cover the ten miles on the water plus the shuttle to & from the pick up and drop off points. Lots of nice scenery, due to the low water level there wasn't much in the way of current except for the area around viaduqt in Portland and even that wasn't bad. I'm not a big fan of the equipment here but I wouldn't let that deter me from coming back in the future for one of their northern longer trips.

0 stars for housekeeping -- they didn't notice our original shower was broken, they didn't clean…read morethe shower when we requested it when the floor was wet (because the shower curtains are very short). This was by far the laziest housekeeping people we've ever encountered in our lives -- instead of taking the requested dirty towels away and replacing them, they left everything on the ground and just dumped a pile of towels on the sink. Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. Stick with dunkin' for breakfast. Ice cream not bad, soft serve is large portions. Mirror maze was basically all broken. Only 2 things really worked when we went in, by the next day only one worked. Pay dirt (mining gemstones/fossils) was a high value activity for my kids - extra worth when you have the 25% discount. Water park is tiny and cold (there's a few small hot tubs), but has a lazy river; slushies standard ICEE brand, mini golf is sad (only like 7 holes maybe). Kids had a ton of fun at the candlestick bowling -- there's a bunch of game modes to try. Only worth if you get the unlimited. Magiquest was 4-6 hours of running around fun and defeating monsters. Wands and attachments are all upcharges from standard. Mostly can only access up and down with elevators so when one is out of order it takes forever. We didn't experience anything outdoors bc of rain.

Had to request toilet paper and towels because no one came to our room. *Lazy river was everything but lazy.. Don't understand why kids are allowed in the lazy river without tubes! Swimming and running while people are trying to float! There are two adequate pools for swimming and a wave pool. * Read your bill At the water park we ordered food and was over charged for some items. Adjustment was made when we brought it to their attention. Also gratuity charge was on the bill.. In our room about 8:00 PM the room above us had assuming kids jumping off of furniture sounding like they were going to come through our ceiling! Could not call down to the front desk room phone didn't work... Had to use the chat?? We were told quiet hours start at 11:00 PM... So beware it's ok if someone comes through your ceiling before 11:00 PM.

Our family just returned from an unforgettable Spring Break at Kalahari Resorts Poconos, and I…read morecan't emphasize enough how incredible our experience was! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere that felt both family-friendly and tailored to adults. The water park was a huge hit with our two girls, offering a wide array of slides that catered to all ages. Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. The array of jacuzzis was another bonus, with both family-friendly and 21-and-over options. Overall, our stay at Kalahari Resort Poconos was filled with fun and memorable moments. If you're looking for a place that offers a perfect blend of excitement and comfort, this is the spot!

I'm still here at Kalahari Pocono Pines…read more Day-1 We arrived Monday morning at 10 AM. Check-in was fairly easy because there was virtually no one else here yet. When I passed the check-in 2-hours later... The line was very long and the same person was working. They definitely need more people there. I went to use the ladies room after checking in and it was extremely dirty. The cleaning cart was there with no attendant. Went to the indoor waterpark which opens at 10 AM because it's raining outside. The outside was closed. It's the usual indoor waterpark nothing special. The Jacuzzi. Where can I begin? It is an indoor outdoor Jacuzzi. Meaning, you can go straight from the inside through a passageway into the outside. On the inside section.... Only 3-lame-jets were working. PACKED With kids. Outdoor section NONE of the jets were on. I asked the "lifeguard" why the Jets were not on. He said do you want them on? I asked him if he knew the difference between a Jacuzzi and a pool of hot water. He said he would turn them on ... he never did. I cannot emphasize enough, how many children were in there. From a few months old to pre-teens. Horsing around.... I scooped this one girl up that was about to drown 4-years old. She was allegedly being watched by her 12-year-old sister. Her mother was so grateful. Why is the mother not watching her own 4-year-old? I am appalled by this Jacuzzi experience. Hey Kalahari.. Do you think you can have something just for adults? Do the kids not have enough activities to enjoy? No? Do you know how "unhealthy" A Jacuzzi is for children? They have these rules for the kids in the Jacuzzi. Nobody is adhering to those rules, not even the lifeguards. What lifeguard? Jacuzzis are for adults!!!!!!!! We had the buffet for breakfast. We arrived at 11 AM. They close at 12 noon. It was $30 for adults. And $20 for kids under 12. By the time we got there It was slim Pickens. You should not charge me the same amount as everybody else who got more variety before me. Was not impressed with the buffet at all. On the upside. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Except of course, for the lifeguard who doesn't know the difference between a Jacuzzi and a tub full of hot water. And most importantly, is not adhering to the rules setforth for children in the Jacuzzi. I saved a kid from drowning today.... He should be fired. We will be checking out tomorrow at the prescribed 11 AM. I will add to this review at that time.
