We had to go to kalahari poconos for a dance competition and had to stay for 5 nights. When we checked into the room Sunday, I had to kill 3 flies. Monday morning I woke up to find ants all over the couch and wall and then more by the sink area. I was reaching out to the desk about the ant situation when my 6 year old son who was still in bed, said there was a bug In the bed. You can imagine my disgust when I looked and it was in fact a BED BUG! I immediately freaked out and called the desk who said they would send a manager up. They did not. They sent up a facilities guy instead (who was very nice...but we wanted a manager). He confirmed it was a bed bug...a rather large one at that. He said they would need to "heat treat" the clothing, luggage, teddy bears, etc. and would need to move our room. My daughter had to be downstairs competing within the hour so it was a mad rush to pack up our room. My husband went with the facilities guy to look at a new room on the 3rd floor. Well what do you know....more flies flying around!!! My husband said this was unacceptable and again requested a manager. At that point the facilities guy (againnnnn no management) brought my husband to the presidential suite which was the least they could do at this point. Where he told my husband there's "special devices" that detect bed bugs in these rooms. Great. We threw our stuff in there and headed to the dance competition. When we arrived back in the new room around 1:30pm, we found our luggage back in the room. When we opened it...we found that my husband and kids luggage was in balls and their bathing suits still wet from the day before. And my suitcase didn't look touched. So I'm unsure what kind of "heat treatment" was even done. At this point we were even more upset and went to the desk so my husband could speak with management in person. It was a fight to get money back for Sunday and Monday but they reluctantly did. My kids wouldn't sleep under the covers for the remainder of the stay- who could blame them. The service for the hotel in general is a 2/10. The employees are severely lacking in customer service skills from management all the way do waitstaff. Our waitress at Cinco Ninos Just watched us clean up a spill from one of the kids and then eventually went and grabbed more napkins and just continued our order- didn't clean up the floor or anything. Service is very slow here as well so make sure you bring a lot of patience. And now after the week we had, we have to sit at the laundromat so we don't bring any bugs into our own homes. bottom line...MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERYTHING IN THOSE ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!

It's always a good time for the kids. They have a ton of stuff for younger kids which is a plus for me. There's plenty of options for eating as well. Parking a challenge if it's busy, but at least they don't try to charge you an overnight parking fee like great wolf does now. Black Friday coming up always a great time to book your stay. Usually 30% off Kalahari In!

So to update...they went cashless. They also added a human crane, indoor go kart (Thursdays) and a 7D theater. 2 nights max is all you need. The rooms are clean. There is a new restaurant that specializes in Mac N cheese. I gave 3 stars this time because security staff is really not present around in the late evening hours and there were many people running up and down the hallways and slamming of doors. There is zero signage to remind people to have better manners.

We keep coming back because the kids enjoy the water park and rides. Not sure if it was the shampoo/body wash, the bed or the water park water but I did not sleep well. It does not help that on the 3rd fl the water flow was so bad it was like taking a shower under trickling water where you never feel clean no longer how long you stand under the shower. We stayed two nights and on the second night our room phone rang in the middle of the night. Neither nights were a great sleep, which led to a poor overall experience for me at the park.

Beautiful Resort. We were here celebrating my Birthday which was April 13th. The same day as the event. So I was super excited! We traveled all the way from Maryland and it didn't disappoint. We were here for the Wine & Food festival. We purchased VIP tickets and it was so worth it! Our tickets included valet parking. One hour early entry with a spectacular brunch & a swag bag & wine glass. We really enjoyed this event. Food & drinks, entertainment was on point. We didn't stay at the resort but it was beautiful. We stayed in town for the weekend and we both felt like this was well worth the trip. Enjoyed all the entertainment & vendors as well. I would definitely do this again. I hear this is done annually. I look forward to attending next year's event!!

Huge waterpark!!!! Many hotel room options, clean, with lots of eatery options! Drinks both at the waterpark and at dining establishments are great. A bit pricey but not bad. Will come again-not bad. Close to home also-less than 2 hours. Good customer service and sincerely not bad at all.

The room was clean and comfortable. The waterpark is huge. Lots of dining options. We had a great time. I was disappointed that a section of slides was not running. There were 4 slides we couldn't do. Nothing on the website said they would be shut down. For breakfast we purchased the buffet package but due to low occupancy, we had to use our vouchers at a different restaurant. It was fine though because we were allowed to order off the menu as if it were a buffet. All the food was delicious, alcoholic drinks are tasty but very expensive. Overall, I had a good experience and would come back.

We've came here twice last year and both times were great! We had so much fun we made it a group trip with friends and our kids had the best time together! My son is autistic and the waterpark is thoughtfully designed so there are swings, smaller slides, & a calmer (kid) area and the other larger attractions are on the other side. The rooms were clean and comfortable & overall we had a great time! Super affordable as well and we love that the waterpark is included with the room price! Highly recommend

I came here to celebrate my niece's birthday w/ my sis, her bf,my other niece,& her friend. I won a contest for a free room. Score!!!! Check-in was delightful except for a woman that was rude. She said to me,"you don't want to use the self check-in kiosk" but she said it like I was slow. I told her no I have a voucher. Anyhoot, Alexandra was very welcoming & made the check-in process easy & breezy! I was just getting my water passes for now(b/c check-in is @3pm but you can go to the water park @10am). Every room comes w/ free water passes. Depending on the size of the room, that's how many passes you get. I got 4 water park passes for 2 queen size beds & a pullout couch. To my surprise,Alexandra had a room ready for me! I was stoked b/c I got to drop off my things off in the room. My sister had some issue w/ the water park ticket attendant. I got to the water park & grabbed towels for all of us. I went to the bigger basketball pool(you get to shoot hoops in the water). I was trying to please my niece but who doesn't love basketball. Then, I got nippy so I headed to the hot tub. There was so much chloride in that hot tub it made me choke. It stained my bathing suit which was a bummer. I couldn't even hardly breathe. Please if anyone reads this from Kalahari that is unsafe having so much chloride. Please fix it! It wasn't just that day b/c I heard numerous people complaining. I should have told a staff member. That was a bummer b/c the hot tub is my favorite place to be where I visit. There's also a hot tub by the bar which is cool. You get to sip on your drink while enjoying the hot tub. We (my 2 nieces & their friend)headed to one of the family rides (barreling baboon). The water ride staff was very nice!I had so much fun on that ride! If you like thrills then you def will love this ride! The room(I forgot to take pics unfortunately, I was having too much fun) was spotless & so pretty! There was art on the wall & the beds/pillows were so cozy!

I came to the kalahari resort in the poconos for a conference and was pleasantly delighted at the amount of amenities and services available here. It truly is a resort and you won't need to leave your room at all. They have a massive water park that has slides and adult only areas, 3 restaurants, a couple markets, bars both inside and outside the water park, gift shops, a really huge arcade that's great for people of all ages, and much more. They also donate proceeds to a worthy cause providing water to certain areas in Africa.

So annoying that I had trouble redeeming a voucher for 2 admissions to the water park for two teenagers that were joining us just for the water park while my sister was getting our room. As I waiting on the long line upstairs a worker talked to me in a tone that made me feel stupid asking "what's the matter the kiosks are all not working?" I say I'm redeeming a voucher, she says oh and carries on. When I get to the person at the booth the say I need to go downstairs, as I do. Downstairs the lady asks if I made reservations to redeem , I say I didn't know I had to? She goes in an office and comes back and says she can do it. Then says I'll have to have the kids present because people been selling them. I was so offended, and after the big inconvenience I had, I didn't want to go back up and down and wait on line again, so I tell her just put them on me and my boyfriend because I rather not be inconvenienced. I needed my sister every time I had to go in our room. It took the joy out of my stay.

    Ask the Community - Kalahari

I want to bring our own life vest next trip. Do the lifeguards inspect the vests if they suspect they aren't coast guard approved?

It's been hit or miss. We've been to Kalahari since 2019. We started out with our own floaties - no issues. On occasion the life guards asked us to switch the kids to the waterpark's life vests.

My son will be 9 months old when we visit any recommendations for things we should bring or avoid?

We just went with a 2yr old. Not 9 but things to know. To get to the pool/Waterpark you need to go…

Do they have pack n plays or cribs?

Yes, you just have to request it first. Make sure to bring a crib sheet as sometimes they will have one or the other.

What bar (if any) are open late?

Do you have to pay for a locker in the locker room and if so how much would that cost a family of 3?

Yes, the lockers cost money. I don't know the prices as we didn't use them

    Is there a Continental breakfast?

There is a coffee shop that serves starbucks and has buns/pastries. There is also a full assortment of a buffet breakfast (not cheep)

Do you u have to stay at the Kalahari resort to get in the water park?

No, you can buy day passes

Why are the rooms 900+ per night?

I paid $540 (tax included) in Nov 2020 for a 2 bedroom suite and all access to the park for 1 night. I think we should assume as more people are willing to go away, they will try to make up for the money the lost during the pandemic. That price is…

How is the park during this Pandemic ? anything to worry about with kids not being able to get vaccine?

You are required to wear masks everywhere but in the water park. There is a risk, it's up to your comfortability.

Do you think it's safe to come now? What precautions are they taking to keep you safe?

I put down a 300 dollar deposit and when I get to the resort I will pay another 360, is there anymore expenses I should be aware of when I get to the desk?

Only if you *choose* ad-ons once you get there. For example - you can purchase insurance for your wristbands I believe or If they get lost you have to pay a fee for a replacement one. Other than those type of things there are no other “fees” added.

Do they have babysitting on premises?

No I am pretty sure they do not.

    Is there a subway?

    No. There is no subway

Any good restaurants close to Kalahari poconos?

We went to Mi Casa- really good Mexican food and only 10 minutes away.

Are the bunk beds a twin size?

    Yes they are twin

Two questions... 1. Are there any restaurants nearby that aren't inside the resort?…

Yes. There are a few about 10 minutes away.

How busy is the park in PA during presidents week? feb 18-24?

    VERY!

How Big are the fridges in the family suite? I'm going to bring a half gallon of milk for coffee and tea and just wondering if the Half Gallon will fit in the fridges okay. We will have a family suite.

You will have plenty of space for that. They have mini fridges in the rooms without a freezer section. You will save tons of cash by bringing your own breakfast and lunch.

Do they have coffee makers in the rooms?

No they do not, not anymore highly disappointed.

Hi my daughter is 19 months is there stuff for her to do here?

This place is designed to be geared more towards the age of kids where they're able to walk around, wait in line for slides, go down slides alone, etc. However there is a "kitty pool" section, not terribly big in my opinion, where she can sit and…

This was by far the laziest housekeeping people we've ever encountered in our lives -- instead of taking the requested dirty towels away and replacing them, they left everything on the ground and just dumped a pile of towels on the sink. Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Camelback Resort over Memorial Day weekend…read morewas disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. My family and I checked in on Friday and were scheduled to stay through Monday. We arrived in time for the advertised 4:00 PM check-in, only to find the resort completely overwhelmed. After waiting approximately an hour and a half, our room was not ready until nearly 6:00 PM. On Saturday, we spent the day at the indoor waterpark and rented Cabana 1. The highlight of our trip was our waiter, Andre, who provided exceptional service and was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend took a turn for the worse. Later that afternoon, my daughter began feeling unwell and developed a fever. I went to the resort gift shop looking for children's Tylenol or ibuprofen, only to discover they carried neither. For a family-focused resort catering primarily to children, I found it surprising and concerning that basic over-the-counter children's fever medication was not available for purchase. When I asked for assistance, I was handed a first-aid packet containing aspirin, which is not something I would ever give to a child. Because my daughter's fever continued to rise, we made the difficult decision to cut our vacation short and return home that evening. Before leaving, we arranged for bell services to assist with our luggage from Room 529. I personally packed all of our belongings and helped Evan, our bell boy, load everything onto the luggage cart. Once home, while unpacking after tending to my daughter, I realized a mesh bag containing several items was missing, including my husband's Burberry swim trunks, my daughter's RuffleButts swimsuit, and her water shoes. The following day, I contacted the front desk, Lost & Found, and asked to speak to Evan at the bell services department. My information was taken, and I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I followed up again several days later and received the same response. No manager was available, no Evan, no answers were provided, and none of our belongings were ever recovered. While losing personal items is frustrating enough, what was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up, accountability, or customer service. Not one person contacted me as promised. Not one manager reached out to address the situation. Between the delayed check-in, lack of basic children's medication availability, and the disappearance of our belongings followed by zero communication from management, this was not the family vacation experience we expected. I can overlook mistakes. I cannot overlook poor customer service and a complete failure to address a guest's concerns. Sadly, after this experience, I would not return to Camelback Resort.

We stayed in Room 10 which features a king size bed and a large soaking tub. The bed was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was sizable. We always felt like there was a lot of space to unwind and relax when we were in our room. We were offered the Fall menu when we were there. On day 1 I had the apple crumble French toast (AMAZING) and I'm not even a big French toast guy. Your table has fresh orange juice, water, and coffee/tea when you come down and get seated. Loved this. On day 2 I had the traditional breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff was friendly and accommodating - as expected from a well run B&B. We were on site for a small gathering of gamer friends and so I also tried some of their offerings in the small cafe. I tried Italian wedding soup for lunch and got several hot tea drinks. All excellent. They have a small "snack room" near the main entrance that has popcorn, and water, coffee maker, and other small amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the most visitor-focused B&B we've had the pleasure of staying in. It sounds obvious to say that, but it his place really puts your money to work to make you enjoy your stay. Thank you!
