Felt very unwelcome in the store. The lady working there was pretty rude. She barely looked up from her phone to say hi. I am newly pregnant with my second kid and trying to find suitable clothes. As I was looking around, I realized I had forgotten my wallet back home, so I left shortly after and said "thank you". The lady chuckled and said "yeah goodbye" like I couldn't afford anything there or was too "big". Just felt made fun of, for no apparent reason. Just an uncomfortable situation. The owner, Debby, and her salesgirls are all so nice and helpful. They will help you pick out your perfect style. I get compliments on my wardrobe often, and always direct women to go to Camellia's. Has some very cute clothes and shoes - love the style of the store. My daughter likes to come here though she is a little too young for many of the styles - it's kind of an early 20's and up age place. Dropped a star for the time I came in and looked at a nice sweatshirt - picked it up and it smelled absolutely horrible - kind of moldy! I told the employee working there and she said that it was because they are by the beach and walked away. Gross! They have fans in there but they need to do more! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful little boutique. It's my favorite store and the only store I go to to get my wardrobe. I'm always welcomed with a bright smile and Debora, the owner, always makes me feel like I am her favorite customer. The clothes are gorgeous and unique and there are always amazing choices. Plus the girls that work there always help you find just the right outfit for whatever occasion you have or just help you find something that might just perk up your day! If you need something beautiful to wear or some thing that I'll just fit you perfectly just go in to Camellia annual fine exactly what you need. Decent selection of clothes and shoes. (Such as ) Level 99 denim but a lot of brands you can purchase at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus. Plus these department stores have better return and importantly customer service. I'm giving this 1 star because of the staff. The woman assisting me was snotty. Maybe she is the owner, either way, get better customer service skills. I felt judged slightly discriminated but have to laugh because she lost a customer and someone that would have been happy to send them more business. LOVE LOVE LOVE this store!!! I prefer boutique shopping to large strip malls, but this by far is my #1 place to shop in San Diego! I am very petite, but have an athletic body - LOVE that all of the clothes I buy at Camellia don't need to be altered... this never happens! I like to think of this boutique as my little secret.. but I just can't help but introduce my friends to the lovely and right on trend boutique style store!! I LOVE that it is right off Cedros and that it is kind of a hidden gem.. You can always find something in here whether its to accessorize an outfit, a must have sale piece or just a fabulous jacket or dress for that occasion coming up! I had a similar experience as Doris K. - stopped in here while on my way to meet a friend for breakfast, and although I was looking at three or four items for sizes, the girl working there completely ignored me, and at one point even brushed past me to find something for another customer. Yes the clothes are cute - but a hello or even a smile would have been nice. I loved one of the dresses they had and probably would have bought it if only someone had said something to me. read more

I am all about shopping at small business and supporting small business. I went into this store today at 5:40. A women working there was on her phone on speaker mode and said I'm sorry like she felt bad for me. I continued to walk around and she said "I'm sorry again!". So I said to her oh are you closed? She nodded yes. The put her arm out to walk me out. At the cute store next door I asked what time both stores closed and she said 6:00. Way to lose a customer just to continue to talk on the phone and leave early on a Tuesday. I will not be coming back here. Shame on this store for not caring for customers. I could see if I walked in a few minutes before closing and telling me the store is closed and will reopen the next day at what ever time but no she was too busy on the phone. I just moved to San Diego - and my first thought was "Camellia Boutique- whenever I want- YESSSSS!!!!" I've lived in LA, las Vegas, New York City, Paris- but this has been my hands down favorite place to shop! Actually the girls were shocked when they first found out I wasn't local! Haha! If a girlfriend tells me she's going to San Diego, I ALWAYS say "get a cab, rent a car, take the train- whatever it takes- get your booty to Camellia Boutique in Solana Beach! You'll thank me" And they always do! Every pair of pants I own comes from this store. My favorite wardrobe pieces come from this store! I think that they have some great pieces here, and it suits my style. Prices look like they range from $68-300. They have a large layout and plenty of parking. My only problem was that when I came into the store the salesperson was busy talking to someone else and never bothered to greet me or my husband even though she turned to look at us. I plan to come back to see if I have the same experience. read more

LOVE this place! Debby (the owner) is an absolutely doll and her girls Angelica and Tina are fabulous too. I am a total dress girl and they always have a great selection for all occasions. It's very boutiquey and Debby only orders a few in each size. She rarely does a reorder so I'm not too concerned with spotting someone else in an outfit I just bought there. The girls have learned my style and already know what to pull when I walk in. I just bought the cutest blue dress that I can't wait to wear! Camellia definitely has a cute selection and is a store I often forget about. After stopping in today, my first thought was - I need to remember this place and come more often. That was quickly dashed though when the owner? came over to help, unprompted and suggested a size larger than anything I'd ever considered wearing or have worn in my life. I let her know that I am pregnant & not interested in her sizing suggestions - especially at a time when a changing body can be a sensitive subject. So then she said "Oh so you're looking for something to wear after the baby?" - so now she's just telling me I look fat?! She continued to push sized up dresses on me, that I begrudgingly took to the fitting room - they were too big, shocker. I did end up buying a dress, a stretchy style, within my usual size range (XS or S) and it fit just great. I left feeling pretty much like shit about how I look and very self conscious in my outfit for the rest of the day, definitely won't be wearing that outfit again. Though the dress I got is super cute and something I'll for sure make use of, I wish I'd just walked out and not given her my business. It's a shame because there are not a lot of cute, quality places to shop locally and avoid Fashion Valley. read more

I have been going here for several years and find that Angelica,Tina, and Debi the owner are always helpful and friendly as can be, If I need assistance putting together outfits they are all experienced in pulling together amazing looks! Not only do they have amazing clothes they also carry shoes, handbags,belts, and one of a kind jewelry pieces made by some of the girls who work here as we'll as the owner. Seriously. I friggin LOVE this place. They have the CUTEST stuff in there. Designer jeans; dresses; brazilian bikinis; gorgeous jewelry; you name it. I always find THE ONE thing that I sport for a couple of years and love it (including a summer dress and necklace for my rehearsal dinner for wedding). It is for casual and semi dressy clothes. The owner is one of the biggest sweethearts I have ever met as well. She really takes care of her customers and loves to give you a hand with opinions- honest opinions. If she thinks something isn't right she will tell you and then search her store for a couple more options for you to try. It's lots of fun to shop there. They have got adorable unique clothes ranging from very high end to reasonably priced and you can always find good deals in their sale room! The owner is a sweetheart, and she has managed to hire 'fashionistas' that are actually kind and helpful instead of stereotypically snobbish and rude. While the customer service was good, I felt this boutique is over priced. I won't shop in mall stores as I find the smaller boutiques more fun and love supporting our local merchants however, shopping at Camellia's was frustrating due to the pricing. I agree with Teek N Tucker's review regarding the return policy as well. With prices THAT high, I'd prefer a return policy that allows someone to return something as opposed to just a store credit. read more
