We spent a delightful weekend wine tasting in Walla Walla with three couples, and made Cameo Heights our home base. The property is stunning -- each room uniquely styled with international flair, from Italian and Spanish to French and even Dubai-inspired décor. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with a pool area that instantly transported us to Tuscany. There were plenty of loungers for relaxing by the sparkling swimming pool, plus a generously sized hot tub to unwind in. The staff truly elevated our stay -- warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special shoutout to Rosalina, who was an absolute gem. She made us feel so welcome and even surprised us with a homemade tres leches cake to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. That personal touch meant the world. We dined at the property one evening; the meal was enjoyable, though not quite exceptional. Still, the ambiance of the mansion more than made up for it. Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Walla Walla, Cameo Heights offers a peaceful retreat -- serene, secluded, and blissfully quiet. My husband and I were gifted a night at the mansion by my uncle as a "Welcome to WA" gift. We stayed in the Greek room which was so beautiful and had a bidet and jet tub. The mansion itself is gorgeous along with the salt water pool and botanicals. There was an accident that had caused some water to come into the room. Not a big deal to us at all, it was very minor. The owner was so kind and gave us an additional night for free! We got to really enjoy the mansion since we had another night. We took bubble baths, watched movies, played ping pong, and ate dinner at The Vine fine dining restaurant (my review for how amazing it was is separate from this one). We loved how calm and quiet everything was as there were no children allowed either. The wake up service was great AND the coffee was so good which is unheard of at most hotels. ;) Breakfast was indescribable, OMG!!! Top shelf chefs are employed here! Went for Mothers Day brunch, waitress Sasha was very friendly and the owner greeted us and was very welcoming. Complaint was the food. I have been to many nice restaurants and this tried to use budget fine ingredients with chefs that are most likely cooks at Sharis. Tuna wasnt fresh, Halibut used a store bought super sweet sauce (probably fresh halibut) ingredients and seasoning were very basic, trying to plate and pass for fine dining. Hollandaise for Benedict tasted canned, paid $600 for a meal and would have been a better meal. Germany, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, England and Dubai. All the options were extraordinary and the rooms furnished lavishly with the dreamiest beds and bedding known to mankind. It was in this mansion that the guests would engage in rest and relaxation. It was also where dreams came true and couples got engaged, married or celebrated anniversaries. Where should I start? This Bed & Breakfast is absolutely delightful. We stayed three nights in early May. Our 'French Suite' boasted a stunning view of the orchard, foothills, and Cameo Heights pool/patio. My husband and I enjoyed swinging on the set of swings out back, and resting in the shade together to reconnect and go over some marriage workbook material we had brought along. The food; breakfast, and the seven course dinner was delicious. From presentation to taste we left satisfied and nourished. Coffee/tea and danish delivery to our door every morning was every mom's dream ‍. The owners were engaging and clearly love what they do. The restaurant staff and Innkeeper were friendly and helpful. Although this is a romantic destination for couples, my girlfriends and I decided to go for a weekend getaway. This place is luxurious, fun and romantic (for couples). We stayed in the French and Dubai rooms. First off, both room are gorgeous even though quiet small. French room has a great view but Dubai room has no view at all. The beds are big and comfy. Lots of little details were appreciated. I personally loved the bath tub in the French room and also the warm toilet seats with bidet function. Im already buying one just like it. We chose to eat at the Vine restaurant on premises...prix fix menu was very nice, great food, the presentation was ok, could be slightly better to match the quality of the food. The wake up service was such a wonderful touch! Omg the warm danish, pure heaven! Included breakfast was superb! Handmade croissants , everything tasted and looked amazing! Presentation was better than dinner which I found surprising but no complaints about that. I also liked the snacks and drinks available for guests. We even played some ping pong downstairs. Welcoming, peaceful, stay with one of the BEST meals we've ever had . We were greeted by Stacy (one of the owners) who was very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival, Stacy offered us a tour and a glass of champagne and brought us to our room. We were provided text updates with information regarding our stay and encouraged to reach out with any additional questions. The owners were friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. There were many extras during our stay like complimentary sodas, waters, ice cream bars (for late night snacks), smores kits and popcorn for the popcorn maker downstairs. The overall atmosphere is very cozy, relaxing and welcoming. Staff encourage you to make yourself at home, help yourself to the many treats available, and explore the beautiful grounds. We stayed in the Spanish Suite and it was beyond incredible. The suite is on the bottom floor just off the commom area with private doors that open up to the patio and pool. It's very spacious and beautifully decorated with everything we needed (and things we forgot -there were extra razors under the sink ). The owners provided handmade soaps, bubble bath and sugar scrubs next to the large jetted tub. The king-sized bed was very comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The Spanish Suite is downstairs and has doors that open up to the patio area, which is great for enjoying your morning coffee. The patio has a firepit, smores pit, pool, hot-tub and many cozy chairs to relax and unwind and enjoy the beautiful views. Dinner at The Vine with Chef Caleb and Sasha (our waitstaff) was INCREDIBLE! The meal consisted of 7 courses and a selection for your main and dessert. We were able to watch Chef Caleb prepare our meals (at the meal time of our choice WOW) just feet away from where we ate. The setting is cozy and intimate. Sasha was very attentive and checked in on us frequently. She gave great recommendations and explained what each course would entail. We were offered a vast beer and wine selection with several of our favorites from many local breweries and wineries. The food was fresh, made from scratch, locally sourced, and cooked to perfection. Fun fact, Chef Caleb makes the bread from scratch DAILY and it is DELICIOUS. Our meal was so amazing, we forgot to take pictures until we were almost finished. The only downside to Chef Caleb's dinner is that any meal you eat AFTER leaving Cameo Heights will pale in comparison The Vine is a great spot for an intimate and elevated dining experience where the staff treat you like celebrities. After dinner, we walked down to the patio and had had a glass of wine by the firepit under the stars. The next morning, Larry brought coffee and fresh made danishes at 8. We drank coffee on the patio and watched a deer peacefully walking by. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at The Vine (another stellar meal) before heading home. Updated after reply from Cameo Heights Owner, while I appreciated his initial concerns and explanation of the situation, his comments and actions further demonstrated why things are changing at the mansion. He cannot put himself into his guests shoes. This location is very remote, (one of the draws), and the food has always been 5 stars but noticeable staff turnover, failure to provide dining and lack of details in housekeeping clearly shows there has been something going on behind the scenes for the past 2 years. We stayed in the English Tudor room What an incredible view. Nice comfortable room, double Jacuzzi tub, kingking-size bed, and the amenities where incredible. Dinner was a seven course meal For my main dish I had the lamb lollipops with veggies and potatoes. The lamb was incredible, the best I ever had. My wife had the steak medallions, which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. In the morning we were served coffee and pastry's which were left at the door. What a incredible experience. With its beautiful landscape and architecture, Cameo Heights is the ideal place to stay for a romantic getaway. We stayed here while visiting Walla Walla and loved our experience so much that we extended our stay another night. We were welcomed by a staff member and offered champagne or cider, both of which were excellent. Once she checked us in, she helped us carry our luggage to our room and gave us a brief tour. The rooms are themed and decorated such that they each offer an experience of a different country. We had the pleasure of staying in both the Italian and English suites (2 nights and 1 night, respectively), which were both stunning in appearance, clean, and cozy. On our first night at the mansion, we were fortunate to be the only couple present. Therefore, when we dined at The Vine (which offers an excellent course meal, btw. Highly recommended), we were able to meet the talented chef Nathan and chat with him briefly. If we had stayed awhile longer, we would have loved to return for an encore! One significant thing we noticed was the owners and staff members' unsurpassed attention to detail. Everything from the rooms themselves; to the area downstairs where you could eat freshly popped popcorn, play table tennis, watch a movie in a small theater, make s'mores, and wander the grounds; to the delivery of a beverage and a pastry before breakfast, was perfectly presented. There is such a huge amount of effort put into ensuring that the guests of the mansion have a most relaxing and romantic stay. Breakfast was another aspect of our stay that we absolutely loved. Like Chef Nathan, Chef Keith is a superb chef who expertly combines flavors and textures to create beautiful and delicious food. Keith is also personable and made us feel welcomed. Fun fact, Keith also makes the soaps and lotions available for use in the rooms! Only con I would say of the mansion is the lack of elevators, as lugging the luggage to the third floor to the English suite was quite a hassle. OVERALL: Cameo Heights Mansion is the ideal place to stay for a honeymoon, romantic getaway, or even when you are just vacationing in the area and wish for a special experience. It is rather secluded and you must drive awhile to arrive at its entrance, which gives the mansion an almost mysterious feel. Little hesitant to leave an honest review because I do not want to get review shammed by the owner! Lol. Here is a my take...great service, nice spot to get away for a day. Room: stayed in the French suite, it was like my bedroom at home. I apparently have good taste. It was a little loud and could here the front door from our room. Food: dinner was to be 100% honest cold. Both our meals were cold. It was nice to watch the chef cook, and then watch our nicely plated food sit on the kitchen counter for another 5 minutes getting cold. Soup was also cold. Service was ok from a 16 year old (give him credit for working) we are not wine people and asked for a recommendation.....don't do that! Breakfast was much better, well done on the fruit plate. Spa: it's not a spa it's a cramped room with two tables and loud. Overall one night was plenty, might be fun for a girls weekend. They did try to put details into being romantic it's just a little hard when you feel like you're staying at your house. When we travel to Walla Walla, we spend one night at Marcus Whitman (Tower, not conference center) and one night at Cameo Heights Mansion. Marcus Whitman is excellent, but very few places can light a candle to Cameo Heights Mansion. The rooms and views are breathtaking. This is true luxury. While my wife and I are not fancy-food people, the 7-course meal is over the top. They have items on the menu I would not otherwise order, and they are amazing. The steak and sauce we had was one of the best steak dinners ever. The breakfast is also over the top. The best word to describe Cameo Heights Mansion is "perfection." For the life of me, though, I could not figure out how to get the electronics working in the theater, or even the TV in our bedroom. But, then again, I can always stream on my PC or iPad. The staff at Cameo Heights Mansion is very down-to-earth, and not at all pretentious. That is what I want when I travel to Eastern Washington. This is the ultimate in luxury accommodations. We'll be returning for a fifth time in the fall, or next year. read more

I have been planning a stay at Walla Walla for the longest time. I wanted a magical time, mostly to chill at the hotel with hubby and to do some wine tastings. The top contenders for the hotel ended up being the Eritage, Abeja inn and Cameo heights. Cameo heights is about 30 minutes out of Walla Walla and I decided to give a secluded private getaway a chance and booked Cameo heights. Let me start off by saying that Cameo heights is not a hotel, it is a big house, there is no official check-in spot, just a table at the front door. There are different types of rooms in the mansion, named after countries. We got Dubai, the only room available when I booked. The room was almost $500 a night, for 2 nights stay we ended up paying around 1050. For that price tag, I expect a very good experience, something like Post hotel. Our room was very very small, with no view, a very very small window that would not even open because it would hit the night stand next to the bed. If one of the rooms is much bigger (according to the photos), the price has to be very very very different! For $1000, our room was very underwhelming! It was basically a room, no view, nothing mesmerizing, definitely not worth $1000. I am focusing on the price, because had this place been cheaper, I would not have had a problem with it. But when I booked it, I booked a luxurious stay, and I did not receive one. There was SO MUCH NOISE in the house. Every time someone walked up and down the stairs, every time the staff talked to each other (which they did very loudly), every time someone opened the communal fridge right in front of our room, even every time someone closed their door, we heard the whole thing! There was just SO MUCH NOISE that it was impossible to relax! They had a wake up service that would bring tea and some danish to your door before breakfast. We ordered it, which I am glad, because you would wake up when they went to other rooms anyways! It was just so loud, with such a tiny room, so far away from Walla Walla. They were not always up to code when it came to Covid. One of our servers took our orders and served us without a mask. When she finally put a mask on (we did not ask, she did it herself), she placed it under her chin, her mouth and nose were still open. I am not trying to be a snob, and I know there are many mask deniers out there, but I care about guidelines. Guidelines are what doctors have used for years to treat patients. The sheets were clean, they had ice cream bar and water for us by the pool. I just did not see what others saw in this place. Maybe we had the worst room. It was definitely not a place I would recommend to others! Not for this price, not as a relaxation trip. I am also very saddened by the response from the owner! Trying to justify what was happening and persuading me that I was wrong for having a bad experience! When I booked your hotel through a third party, you were showing no availability on your website, and third party was the only website that had something available. It does not take away from the fact that the room was overpriced and it was a dungeon! And your staff were NOT WEARING A MASK For the whole time I was having breakfast! It in fact needs to be made clear that not even for one minute did she wear a mask! I am SO SURPRISED by your response! That instead of hearing the criticism and trying to address it, you decided to just defend yourself. Your staff WAS NOT wearing a mask for the WHOLE TIME during breakfast! Best of luck read more

Who knew that spending a night in a mansion at a reasonable price existed in the world?! 7 incredible, magical rooms that make you feel like you're living in a dream! Plush robes and house slippers, huge hot tub, comfy bed with silky smooth 600 thread count sheets, panoramic views from your window, poo-pourri spray and wipes in the restroom, snacks and drinks that you can purchase with golden coins found in your room (jelly beans, popcorn, homemade s'mores kits, bottled water, cocoa, juice, soda) downstairs... From incredible service upon check-in, complete with a tour of the property and your suite, to a 8am coffee and baked good delivery before a deluxe homemade breakfast at 9am (that's included)-- this place did not disappoint. Alan and Deanne are very personable, kind, and run an incredible place. The bingo game called CAMEO was a fun way to learn about the different activities available on the property, and give you a chance to win a prize. (Or win something if you already lost at horseshoe and tetherball with your partner... that was me). Some activities include: swimming in the pool, lounging in the hot tub, watching a movie in their large deluxe theater room, renting a DVD and taking it up to your room to watch it in a comfy bed, playing ping pong indoors, playing tetherball outdoors on lush green grass, taking a beautiful walk, roasting marshmallows by the pool with cute s'mores kits complete with graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate, and a wet wipe for the gooey marshmallow post-enjoyment. We did have a little hiccup with our couples' massages, as one of the masseuses inevitably felt ill. In the end, our massage was a couple hours later and consecutive, but the front desk staff was sweet and kept us updated and even made us a fruit and cheese platter that we got to enjoy at the pool while waiting. To briefly describe my experience: Mediocre food and location. Overpriced for the experience you get. Reading other reviews and the owner's response, what caught my attention is the vindictiveness and dismissive tone when responding to criticism. I am certain that no one gets excited from getting bad reviews. But it must be taken as an opportunity to improve the service. Completely dismissing customers' feedback and labeling it as fake or conspiracy to defame (which is visible in owner's responses to negative reviews) sounds like a perfect recipe to make a business decline. read more

I did not think my stay was worth what we paid. From reading other reviews it seems this place used to get much better reviews in the past. I'm going to start with what did not impress me. Early in our stay I was laying on the bed and my husband threw a pair of underwear up at me. These were not mine! He didn't realize that until I yelped when they landed at my feet. Hello! Gross! I included a photo. Also included in photos, you will see bugs on the floor. I sat in a chair to have a snack and use my breast pump. I looked down at the floor and about gagged. The floor was littered with dead bugs. The photos dont capture it will. There were many between the carpet and wall. I couldn't get a shot that showed clearly what you saw with the naked eye. Definitely lost my appetite and didn't enjoy pumping with that in view. The suite was very cute and could have come closer to meeting my expectations sans the bugs. There was also a lot of visible wear and tear like stains on the carpet, plastic hooks unused on the walls (tacky), and scuf marks on the walls. I'm pointing that out because this is a $300 stay. Breakfast was underwhelming. The fruit and cream was tasty. We ordered avocado toast and the blt. The blt was not toasted which I found odd but, ok. The English muffin was barely toasted. The avocado toast was absolutely flavorless. I ate it all because I needed to eat. The potatoes were Luke warm at best. I ordered sausage and was given bacon. While eating this meal I was so relieved I had canceled our dinner reservations from the night before. If I had paid $100 per person for food that tasted like breakfast I would have cried! Not impressed at all. What went well... The bath in the room was great. I used it twice. The wake up service pastry was delicious! I guess that set a standard for the rest of the breakfast.. The service staff were nice. The view is lovely. I'm sure it's amazing when it's all green. Overall, we weren't blown away due to the parts that were unsatisfactory. I kept thinking of Gordon Ramsay's hotel makeover show and what he might say about the bad parts. I think we would agree with my opinions. read more

We dined at The Vine; fine dining at Cameo Heights Mansion,Touchet WA. We came for our 10 year Anniversary. 11/23/23. We had our wedding there in November 2014. We rented the whole property for our family and friends to spend the night after our wedding ceremony was performed in the living room. Chef prepared a great dining experience. There are new owners past two years. However, our recent experience was quite nice. Previous reviews mentioned a problem with not being greeted upon arrival. I noticed that this time around as well and I directed a couple that arrived after we were seated to go into main dining room because they were just standing and looking around. It is confusing to walk in and wait then walk to main dining room and wait to be acknowledged, we had to do so as well. Perhaps a bell or light or an attached to staff hip vibrating disc that notify waitstaff in main dining that guest has arrived up front. There is a reception desk at front entry but it isn't occupied. Maybe better use would be to add a bench/chair for guests to sit till seated in that area. The reception desk has costume jewelry on desk that I found amusing. If one can afford to dine or stay at Cameo Mansion I don't think one would want costume jewelry. Otherwise, we had a delightful dinner and the place is still lovely. Note: those complaining of wanting larger servings pre fix 7 course meal for $89; maybe try a smorgasbord. We love dinning at Cameo. We have no problem with the price, we have no problem buying wine for meal or bringing our own wine and pay corking fee. Amazing. This place is the epitome of luxury. My husband and I stayed in the German Room (which has an awesome loft and board game, for those of you romantic nerds out there). The sheets in our room were silk, which was awesome, and we had a huge jacuzzi bathtub with complementary lotions and potions. We had breakfast in bed the next morning. I like the fact that breakfast was two-course - coffee and a pastry arrived first at our door when we were groggily waking up, then the full french toast meal a little later. The quality of the breakfast itself was very good, but I've had better at a different bed and breakfast. The rooms, location (out in the countryside with gorgeous views) and the building itself are really what makes this place amazing. Anywhere else (ex: Florida, where we are now), the price of staying in this place would be around $500/night. Really makes us miss Eastern Washington. We've been here twice now - once to attend a friend's wedding, and the second for our own wedding night. A glass of wine by the immaculate pool...a theater room...a walk along the orchards...a pre-breakfast tray delivered to your room one hour before the 5-star breakfast on the patio...s'mores at the fire pit...etc. Enjoy the seclusion and safe, ample parking. We just had the great pleasure of staying at Cameo Heights Mansion for two nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. This trip was solidly in the top of our price range but I still simply cannot recommend this jewel enough. Our only regret is that it took us so long to find it! Every detail of our stay, from a glass of champagne or sparkling cider while completing check-in, to the hand-written message from the owner on our check-out paperwork, was thoughtfully orchestrated to ensure we knew we were in the best possible hands. Our rooms were clean and sumptuous. Romantic touches and comfort upgrades were everywhere you looked. There were pillow chocolates, in-house made lotions and soaps for your use, luxury bedding, a fireplace, a jetted tub, and walk-in shower. The entertainment and common areas were spacious and packed with options and extras from movie snacks, to s'mores at the fire pit, to comfy robes to wear out to the pool and hot tub ensured that you had all the comforts of home only better! And who wouldn't want a warm homemade danish and beverage of choice delivered to your door as a wake-up service before breakfast! I cannot think of an amenity we felt was lacking. And on top of that, the owners and all their staff were exceptionally warm and helpful, without being intrusive or making you feel uncomfortable. The icing on the cake of our stay was dinner at the on-site restaurant, The Vine, both nights of our stay. It has an intimate setting with a direct view of Chef Nathan as he prepares your meal(s) in the open kitchen. Every item was prepared fresh and to order and was not only extraordinarily delicious, the presentation and plating were almost too beautiful to eat! Chef Nathan graciously answered all our questions and you could hear how passionate he was about what he did in the tone of his voice. He easily accommodated my vegetarian husband's needs in his selections. It was like having a personal chef! I simply cannot regret a single penny we spent on not just our meals, but on an outstanding and memorable experience. This is the true fine dining experience we have been trying to find in the Tri Cities for years. And just so you know, you don't HAVE to be a guest to get reservations at The Vine, but I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to be!!! read more

The Mansion was pretty at Christmas, but we had a horrible experience. Found a shirt from someone else behind the pillow area (gross), huge holes in many areas of the sheets (they didn't offer to change the sheets and we felt gross all night in what felt like a dirty bed), standing water in bath tub (it hadn't been used for two days), my husband got cut on the TP roll sharp edge, the hot breakfast was cold, way over priced, the owners wife slammed the door behind my husband's back when we were leaving, and they wouldn't refund our money but would give us a complimentary stay (we basically paid for it anyway)! Why would we want to return? Not acceptable! Will never return and wouldn't recommend! New owners need to step it up for a place that like that. We've had a cleaner and better experience at cheaper hotel chains. In addition, the owners never offered to upgrade us to a suite so that is false along with other things the owner said. In fact, my ratings page in the room that I left with them gave 1's on many things and we repeatedly let them know of huge issues that happened (not just at checkout). I asked for a refund that night and other things that we can hash out in the future. We were nothing less than kind , but the owner continues to want to blame us or attack our character)! I refuse to continue going back and forth with someone that can't own up to failures at HIS business! Horrible customer service and to treat people this way is beyond! Truth is truth regardless of what others believe! I'm sure the owner or anyone else wouldn't sleep in a bed with holes in the sheets or be ok with someone slamming a door in their spouses back!
