My husband and I love staying at historic inns and B&Bs. The staff was friendly and the homes history was rich. The bed was clean and comfortable. The place looks rougher (more worn) than their website photos. I had a hard time getting over how dirty the bathroom floor in our suite was. It didn't look like it had seen a mop in years. Cobwebs on the ceilings. Housekeeping could use improvement. The communal shower room was not stocked with soap but it did offer a supply of condoms. Never stayed at a place where condoms were an amenity. Be very careful using the Victorian pin shower although a novel experience, it can be painful.

    Pendleton house. Beautiful and comfortable.

This is one of the best bed and breakfasts I have ever been to. Beautiful, comfortable, warm and informative hosts, close to the cool downtown.

    Peace and quiet

I've been staying at Pendleton House for years. Stayed there last night again and slept the best I've slept all year. Breakfast was a delight.

We stayed at the Pendleton House this past weekend. It was the perfect place for the bridal party to relax and prepare for the wedding. The house itself is beautiful and the company even better. Tracy was absolutely amazing. He made sure that we had everything we needed. He was super friendly and helpful. He made sure to get to know all of us and was an enthusiastic host. The cleaning staff made sure that we had plenty of towels and they even went above and beyond in helping us set up the living room and stairs for some wedding gown pictures. The house is pristine and there is a plethora of clean towels. The breakfast was spectacular! The weather was lovely, so we had breakfast out on the back patio during our stay. They made sure to have plenty of coffee, hot water with tea bags, water, apple juice, and orange juice waiting for us when we came down. At the Pendleton House, they like to start off with dessert followed by a delicious breakfast course. Each place was described to us in detail. Many of the ingredients are actually grown by the hosts and the eggs are from their free range farm. Everything was beautifully plated. Tracy brought us out champagne glasses and even opened the bottle for us every morning. They were also very attentive to food allergies. Overall a wonderful experience! I can't wait to find another excuse to fly up to Oregon just to stay at the Pendleton House.

If you've ever fantasized about spending the night in a historic mansion with museum-quality furnishings, or dreamed of a 5-star breakfast accompanied by light-hearted conversation with charismatic hosts and ample amounts of good locally roasted coffee, or wanted to experience the joys of a rose-filled garden at sunset while sipping a chilled bottle of Oregon or Washington wine, then Pendleton House B&B is for you. Not only is the "house" itself a true historic gem, with much of the original 1917 artwork, furnishings, fireplaces, and staircases intact, the current owners have greatly expanded the backyard gardens and exquisite landscaping, making it an ideal venue for weddings, reunions, and social gatherings of the luxurious persuasion. For comparative purposes, I rank Pendelton House among the top five B&Bs personally visited (and reviewed) in the past decade, alongside such stunning architectural gems as Ashton's B&B in New Orleans, Louisiana and Edward Adams House B&B in Silverton, Oregon (near Salem). In all three cases, the houses themselves are historic local landmarks, with unique features that speak to the locations in which they are set and that reflect the personalized proclivities of the women and men who lovingly operate them. At Ashton's, for example, the owners are actively involved in Mardi Gras parades and have decorations and artwork inside that reflects this. At Edward Adams house, the owner (a former classical musician) has a reading and music room with hundreds of classical and jazz vinyl records that guests can listen to during their stay. Likewise, all three spots offer excellent breakfasts using local or farm-raised ingredients that are delicious - but not calorie bombs. Think fresh berries, organic eggs Benedict, granola, gourmet teas and coffee, fresh juices, sourdough baked goods, that sort of thing. And then there is the walking distance to good/great restaurants, parks, and promenades. Ashton's is a short walk or cab ride from the French Quarter; Adams house is a 5 minute stroll away from the Silver Grille, my favorite restaurant in all of Oregon (Michelin 2 star worthy, but without the need for the stars); while at Pendleton House, you can get great meals and stiff drinks at Cimmiyotti's, or indulge your inner carnivore at the over-the-top Hamley's steakhouse. While you can promenade along the Umatilla River trail while in Pendleton, or pick up a new woolen blanket at the Pendleton outlet store down the road, the front patio, sitting room parlor, and outdoor garden and patio at the B&B are so inviting that you'd be forgiven for simply staying local and enjoying the sumptuous surroundings. Tracy and Kevin, the co-owners, have a great kitchen and landscaping staff to assist them and are great sources of information on visiting interesting locations in the area. They also have a tasteful selection of local wines by the bottle available for purchase and can provide special services for newlyweds and others interested in flowers, champagne, chocolates, and those sorts of things. The second floor rooms (5 in total) for guests have recently gotten new names and upgrades, including private baths. For my part, I still enjoy the back rooms like Umatilla and Harris that use the fantastic shared bathroom, complete with the world's most unique shower and chandelier-lit sink and toilet. Room prices are surprisingly affordable for such luxury, making it possible for singles and couples to stay for less than $140/night while enjoying all the amenities and antiques that fill the downstairs rooms and hallways. While summertime is ideal for outdoor activities on the deck, this is a lovely spot in winter, when the living room is lavishly decorated for the holidays. Pendleton makes a great stopping point for exploring other parts of eastern Oregon and also wine tasting in the nearby Walla Walla vicinity. It has the charms of small but vibrant city with a real mix of old and new. Staying at this B&B greatly increases the likelihood that you will enjoy your visit, and makes it more likely that you and your loved ones will be eager to plan a return!

    Beautiful, calming place of rest.

Beautiful, restored getaway. Some bedrooms have a bath. Our room also had a beautiful balcony and a king-size comfy bed. Breakfast was very gourmet. Tracy was friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone looking for a beautiful place to stay. Close to downtown and the river walk.

She seemed nice and organized enough when we met. My fiancé and I liked her style, and she promised full service wedding planning, decoration, and $500 worth of florals. The price was a bit high, but felt worth it for all the services being offered. The first sign something was wrong was at our second meeting. She had lost all of the notes from our first meeting and we had to go back over everything. Now I know she's only human, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and kept working with her. During that meeting, I let her know my venue would be having an open house within the following weeks, she said we could go together for a walkthrough. A week before the open house, she let me know she couldn't come after all as she had double booked herself. After this, I asked her through messages for help with some wedding planning items (the rehearsal dinner that my father was wanting book). She told me it could wait until closer to the date. This is also not the only time she said this. She responded with this most times I asked for specific plans for anything. I told her I was not comfortable with that and would like to plan things early so that we had time to plan everything properly. She said we have plenty of time. A couple weeks later, I asked her to do just decor, because we did not feel that she was a competent planner. She agreed, so we let some time pass before contacting again to go over details of decoration. Not only was it difficult to plan a meeting time because she is busy or out of town often, but when we finally landed on an agreeable time and date, I let her know I would want to go over specifics and she said she doesn't do any sort of design plans or mock-ups whatsoever! She said we would just have to trust her! She expects us to be okay with going into the wedding day with no plan? No confirmation of where things will go, what items will be used, nothing. Of course I was not comfortable with that so I told her we would look for services elsewhere. I asked for a refund, and she was only willing to give us back half of what we had paid her ($1000 so far.) Now I find myself 3 months before wedding date with no decorations, missed all the good deals, and am going to have to take her to court to get a full refund. Like I needed that extra stress. Don't hire her if you want any kind of organization or a plan.
