I've been going to Cameo for the past two years and have always had outstanding service from my stylist Shelby. Unfortunately, she decided to relocate, which meant I had to deal with the angst of transitioning to a new stylist. But have no fear, because the team at Cameo does a great job in getting to know their guests, understanding their vibe, and therefore know what stylist would work best with any guest. As concerned as I might have been, my worries quickly dissipated as I got introduced to Lori and immediately felt like this was going to be a good match. Lori was meticulous in asking the probing questions and understanding what I was trying to achieve. Throughout the process of cutting my hair, she made sure I understood what she was doing and constantly asked for my feedback. I couldn't have been more pleased with the end result. But there's more! My wife had been bugging me for months to get my hair highlighted but being 70 years old I was very old school and resistant to changing my God given look! It just so happened that during my styling session Lori casually mentioned that I would look good with some highlights, or in my case, lowlights. Of course, I said NO! But a funny thing happened. On my way home I started thinking about it, and five days later it was done! What a great experience, and as one of the associates said, "You're never too old to be young again!" She put in very few foils, and when I told her there wasn't enough as it would leave stripes, she said she didn't diagonally so it would blend in. Clearly it did not. Be careful when scheduling your appointment. They tend to schedule incorrectly and will call to reschedule less than an hour than the original scheduled time. Not very reliable nor respectful service, especially when the appointment was made in advance. After seeing a review posted below, I had to jump in. 1st- I am a 10+ year client of this salon and I know everyone there personally. The review left below from "Dolce" is not true or honest. In fact, that isn't even her real name. The review was written after this person threatened the staff, was obnoxious in the salon, and was asked to leave when she started to threaten a stylist who would not discount her services. Other guests were asking to call the police because of her behavior. The staff asked her to leave and not come back, and she continued to threaten and curse at the staff and said she would be posting these types of reviews online to try to hurt the hard working folks at this salon because she did not get her way. STAY AWAY!! What a RIP OFF... Ruthie the one in this photo that does not own the shop but acts as if she is the owner is a NASTY, NASTY, NASTY person. Not only was she RUDE with the other stylist that was attempting to consult me on pricing. She brought her nosy self into the conversation with NO INVITE. Then proceeded to state maybe I should go elsewhere to get service due to the fact the salon does not take my kind of client. This was my second time to visit, the first visit was great service but they fired the stylist that I had before. I am sure she left due to this person Ruthie, who would want to work with her..... She was not there on my first appointment thank goodness but I ended up walking out and not getting services due to Ruthie. The first service cost me $383.00 Plus Tip and I bought two products (1) shampoo at $32.96 and (1) sample conditioner at $12.36 That totaled $428.32 now add the tip. Tip $85.60 -Total Service Day $523.92 - NEVER have I had to pay that. I called first they told me the color was $80.00 and up. When I asked the stylist, what the total charge for what she was going to do was; the stylist stated under $250.00; which is what I had expected. - When she was finished I reviewed the bill, there were (3) charges of $25.00 in glaze charges that make no sense. (I felt ripped off- but had no choice but to pay) I did not ask for Glaze on my hair, I asked for color retouching on roots and highlights and a cut. (You would think with color the shampoo comes with the services yet look at the bill they charged shampoo twice. (See Attached copy of my bill showing proof of how I was ripped off) The sign said $79.00 Color and Cut. (See Photo of Sign) They said that was not for me because I had been there before. It says NOWHERE on the sign- "1st Time Customers ONLY!" FALSE Advertising, Misrepresentations, and Fraudulently Advertising...The owner I have met before and she seemed very nice. But obviously, she does not realize the SABATOGE that Ruthie is giving to her business and what outrageous prices they are charging with no upfront acknowledgments. It was not the stylist that was the issue, it was the NASTY Rutie, which is a HORRIBLE representation of this salon that will lose the owner much business. And charging customers without acknowledgment as well as misrepresentations in advertising. read more

I have never been so unhappy with my hair in my life as I have now. When you call up and ask for someone that's a seasoned stylist and very good at hair color... they tell you all of them are good. Not true!!!!! I had my hair re-colored because I didn't like the color of it and I REALLY hate my hair now!!! It looks like a kid colored my hair it's not even consistent is there three different colors in my hair and it was supposed to be one color. What's worse is the stylist tried to tell me it looks great. I guess he is blind. When I called back to complain that I need my hair fixed it was like a big dissertation. Quizzing me and quizzing me trying to put me with a stylist number 1 which is the lowest experience. Why would I want to repeat my screwed up hair color with someone who doesn't really know very much. In addition, they try to sell you all their products ...big sales pitch and try to cram it down your throat. Also, they charge you out the yang Yang for different charges for haircolor which they did me which resulted in a very ugly hair color. The tab just keeps getting higher And if your hairstylist puts the wrong color on they will charge you for that one and will charge you for additional one all at your expense. I am so disgusted! I've had my hair done at salons for years and years and I have never encountered this in my life. I should have gone to a stylist who is great in Trinity. This is totally my fault because I thought this place was a real professional hair salon. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else! read more

I was recommended to Cameo by my best friend who has her hair cut and colored by Lori, the owner. She knew how I was never satisfied with a hair cut and color, ever! Especially since it always costs so much. So I saw Lori for a blonde balayage and layered cut. I wasn't satisfied so I came back a second time and had some of the balayage redone to get my hair blonder as it still looked very brassy and not white blonde like I wanted. It seemed I had difficult hair and the color just wasn't lifting. She tried, but again I left ($400+ later) feeling like I'm just never going to leave a salon feeling truly happy with my hair. About 6 months later, I scheduled another appt with Lori to get my hair redone, but she was booked 2 months in advance. So I got in the same week with Samantha, who I was told was previously Lori's associate. Nervous about getting my hair done, as usual, and knowing that l have difficult to color, very thick hair I attempted to warn Sam about my hair. I've been told by many, many stylists that I just need to use toner to get my hair blonder or that the color can never be lifted enough to get it the shade of blonde I want. (I had white blonde hair as a child and its gotten increasingly darker blonde over the years). However, Sam, (who also has blonde hair) listened, she colored, she cut, and MAGIC happened! She had the color lifted to the right shade of blonde in half the time and used products to keep my hair healthy. She cut my hair wet then cut some more when dry. She was like Edward scissor hands, cutting so quickly! In the end, I left the salon for the very first time in my entire life feeling 100% satisfied with my cut and color! She is definitely a very skilled stylist. Sam is your girl if you have or want blonde hair or if you're not really sure what you want, she'll make magic happen, trust me!! Plus she's so nice, like all the staff there. My only complaint is that the salon is very expensive and they all try to push the products on you.... like most salons do. But if you find the right stylist for you, it's worth it to feel beautifully transformed when you leave. Thank you, Samantha! So, I decided to go to Cameo to get a manicure and pedicure. I made the appointment for 10:00am. When I arrived I was greeted and "checked in" by the person at the front desk. However, the other employees looked at me like they have never seen a black person before. I just waited in the lobby enjoying the blank stares. However, it was 20 minutes until I was told the the nail technician would not arrive until 10:30am. The gentleman who told me seemed to be busy earlier training a new employee, noticed I was waiting and than asked me if I knew that the nail technician didn't arrive until 10:30am, I told him that they didn't tell me that when I made the appointment and he said" well they told you wrong". He asked if I wanted to stay, if I wanted something to drink or if I wanted to make a new appointment. I declined and left. If you are looking for a salon who does not have color for a French manicure and a salon who doesn't have the ability to schedule an evening massage, this is the perfect place. (I was able to get my daughter in with Rachael for a haircut and she did a fantastic job). Because I have a serious deficit in the way of hairstyling abilities, I went in for some help curling my hair for a charity event. Everyone here was super nice funny and friendly. I had my nails done and a hair trim. Bought some gifts for a friend serving over seas and they treated me like I was the most important person in there. Sadly, i have to come back and change my review from 5 stars to 1 star! First off, i would like to say i have been a customer for almost 2 years, every other month and i absolutely LOVE Shariel! The issue is NOT with her. A few weeks ago i had an appointment scheduled to get my hair colored one solid color and when the front desk called to confirm my appointment, i told him i needed to change what i was having done from an all over color, to simple golden brown highlights. He affirmed me that was fine and they would see me at my appointment. When i walked in and told my stylist what i wanted, she told me she still only had me down for an all over color and she did not have time for anything else. I was annoyed and so was she but i just made another appointment for the following week. Went in the following week, with my sister who also had an appointment, and as i was leaving my home, the salon called me to confirm my appointment was at 12pm, which was not on my appointment card, that said 12:30. So once again i go in and cannot get done what i wanted to my hair. I asked to speak to the manager or the owner and they sent me some man, who apparently was the "front desk manager". He told me the appointment said 12:30 in their system and didn't understand why my card said 12:30. He said the best he can do was schedule me 3 hours from the time i was supposed to be there, with another stylist! (At this point i was heated) Then come to find out the actual owner (who is a woman apparently) was COMPLAINING how my appointment went from a simple highlight to a full balayage on BOX BLACK HAIR. My hair is not"box dyed" first off, and like i said, have been going to them for years getting my hair colored. So the fact of the matter is, this place is extremely unprofessional, and being talked about by the owner, truly put a bad taste in my mouth for this company! I have canceled all mine and my sisters appointments from here on out and will NOT return to this salon for our hair!
