She has been through 2 knee breaks, 2 heart stints, and femur break with me. She was not the primary for those but she made her presence known with visits as my primary family doctor. I do not know the other two recommendors but one is from Austin and the other was from out of state and as far as I know Dr. Gonzalez practices in Laredo, Texas so I would not take those recommendations very highly. I would and have recommended her practice highly to friends and family. Dr. Gonzalez is the best and I have even changed my insurance when her contract with them was up. I have always been welcomed warmly in her office and the maximum wait I have experienced has been 1 hour, but in their defense, it was not an appointment.

Negative 50 is my rating on this group. They have a telephone answering service, although very…read moreprofessional voices, the service is worst than horrible! You are unable to speak to anyone at the clinic. It all goes through this answering service and they are the only ones that can speak to the healthcare team at the clinic. I attempted to contact them on two different occasions and both times, I literally held for over two hours just to find out that it was noon and they had stepped out to lunch. After holding for 2 hours!!!!! They promised they would get someone to call me back that same afternoon. Two weeks went by and not a single call from them. We felt like a hamster in a wheel...going absolutely no where. Don't be fooled. This is your typical company that is not out to care about your well being. They are all about the bottom line number and have no interest in your health or your wellness. A simple question to be asked for a 95 year old patient. They simply do not care! Then you show up and they leave you waiting for hours before they attend to you...95 year old patients should not be left hanging. It was bad, it was awful, it was intolerable. Too mechanical in my opinion. They need to start getting rid of their answering service that does nothing! Good Doctors are hard to find in Laredo. If you find one, don't let him go. Horrible experience. After getting confirmation of my appointment through email at 2:30, I called…read morethe office to double make sure the apt was going to be at 2:30. They told me they didn't have my apt and they can "squeeze me in" for 4pm. I advised I got 2 confirmation emails and a "don't forget you have an apt at 2:30" email. They said they don't know what happened but at 4 is when they can see me. When I scheduled the appointment over the phone I advised what insurance I had and they told me they accepted that insurance. I arrive and the receptionist tells me they don't know if they accept my insurance and that I need to wait for the billing lady to arrive. 45 Min later they tell me the billing girl has still not arrived and don't know when she's going to get back from lunch. I waited for an hour for the billing lady, not knowing if I was going to get seen or if they accepted my insurance. Such a waste of time and not organized at all. Don't recommend. I have been a patient of Dr. Montalvo since he started his practice probably. I was 23, now I'm 45…read moreand still wouldn't change him for any other Dr. The first time I saw him, was when he was with Dr. Benavidez, I wanted to see Dr. Benavidez for a regular pap and for whatever reason Dr. Montalvo came into the room instead. I thought he was extremely nice and I thought he was just being nice because he was starting his practice and wanted to get some patients of his own. As of this day, Dr. Montalvo continues to be a sweetheart with all his patients. I've referred a lot of my friends and they end up staying with him and love his bedside manners. They as well recommended their family and friends to him. It doesn't matter what the reason for your visit is, he always explains to you everything he feels you need to know about whatever condition or symptoms you are having. Sometimes I feel like he explains too much, but I rather have extra explanations than none at all. Some of his office staff have been with him for at least 20 years, which tells you that he is an excellent boss as well. He's very knowledgeable about his practice and very gentle. I will keep referring my friends and family to him because I honestly don't think they'll find anyone better than him.
