My elderly father, 84 years old, needed a handicap placard. Dr. Garza Lozano's office charged him $15 to sign the necessary form. My father was willing to pay the fee by debit card or check. The office insisted on cash. Being elderly, my father was insistent and couldn't understand why they would not take his debit card or check. He finally relented and paid in cash. A week later, both my parents received a letter stating that the doctor was no longer willing to attend to their medical needs. The letter stated that this was due "noncompliance with treatment, and medication". This is a total fabrication as my parents are very diligent in taking their medications. I am in contact with the office concerning my parents care and NEVER have they expressed that this was an issue. This clinic is possibly the worst I have ever had the misfortune of being associated with. Apparently the staff don't know the meaning of the word "appointment," because we had to wait no less than four hours to be seen by the doctor. The staff here will set an appointment, then won't honor the time that the appointment was, because of the overwhelming amount of patients they see. I have a suggestion. Don't set so many appointments in one day! If you know the doctor isn't going to be able to keep a schedule, don't tell people they can be seen that day. What's the point of setting an appointment if the patients are seen on a first come first serve basis? Why don't they just tell people that there aren't any appointments that day, so they can choose to book it for a different day? They are so overwhelmed with the backlog of patients, that they come across as unorganized and in a hurry. I would love it if my family didn't go back to this clinic, but they have no choice. Laredo isn't packed full of clinics and qualified doctors. I wish there were just as many clinics in Laredo as there are restaurants. If that was the case, I think you'd have better access to quality care. I am not exaggerating when I say that you'd have better luck taking yourself or a loved one to a doctor in Mexico. Or, you could drive to San Antonio, see a doctor, go to lunch, shop at the mercado AND get your prescription filled in the same amount of time you spend at this clinic, sitting around, waiting to see the doctor. The doctor that is affiliated with this practice really needs to know how poorly her clinic is being run. It isn't the doctor's fault really, but she needs to work on properly staffing her business. Don't they have staff meetings? Who is the office manager? Why do people have to wait over four hours to be seen? That is ridiculous! All of these questions are not unreasonable, are they? read more
