Won't accept a 3 year old gift certificate that DOESNT HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE. Used to be our go to place for breakfast but the last few experiences have been rotten. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was like thick paste two times in a row. Also had a horrible meal where the griddle oil must have been rancid or something. And now this gift certificate episode. I really want to give 3.5 stars; however, Yelp continues to force me to a full number. Ironically, that is how I left the restaurant; full. I went with a group for Sunday morning breakfast. The restaurant offers a nice range of breakfast items at a reasonable price. I decided on the two egg, potato, toast and chicken fried steak breakfast ($8.99). I also had coffee. My meal was good but not great. I ordered crispy hashbrowns. The grill was either dirty or they were overdone. The taste took away from eggs that were properly prepared and a nice chicken fried steak (gravy could have used some more flavor). The toast was very good; homemade and thick slices. The coffee was hot and generous. Service was good and everyone in the group liked their meals. To a person, they all liked the homemade toast and berry preserves. Aside from the hashbrowns, a mark against the place was its cleanliness. It was in need of a deep clean; especially the baseboards and the grate on the heating/cooling unit. Horrible experience! Poor service could not get any worse. A long black hair was cooked and breaded in my fish. This can happen, but there was no customer service at all. Had to ask for a discount but was told that it wasn't the cooks' hair color. That it must have come that way from the distribution service?! Offered a 20% discount, but they ended up charging full price to my credit card. I'm guessing they added the 20% instead, as the total came to more than the drink and meal I had (factoring in tax). I had about 10 bites before finding the hair. It was disgusting and could not eat another bite. read more

Pretty decent, but the staff isn't very friendly unless you're a regular. I've gone twice and both times the waitress didn't greet me or introduce herself or even so much as smile. If you're a regular then it's a different story. The pancakes were large and yummy, good sausage, okay omelette (not amazing). When we got burgers they were fine, just a little dry. The decor in the restaurant is a mix of outdoorsy and sarcastic redneck. It was clean and the cost of food was a little high but I'm going to blame inflation for that one. I was planning to give this 4 stars because I got no service the Burger was great but me being there was not their priority google said they close at 12 but I guess that's the bar reason for the 2 stars the Waitress decided to say "you go no service cause when my shift is over I'm done" Really guys if y'all was closed should have just said that not let me sit down and serve me with shitty service I would have gotten better service from the guy at the gas station smh read more

It's your ass burger- perfectly cooked medium rare burger between two grilled cheese with bacon. I know it's a heart attack but DAMN this was awesome! The bread, the grilled cheese, even the beef they use, it was all just perfect. My heart hates me for it, but my tastebuds love me for it. Also, the nacho sauce they make is fantastic too. I wonder how many things I can order that on? I would eat it on a car tire! read more

Went here for a late dinner after traveling up to Cameron. They area one of the few places in the area that serves food after 9PM. It is a great place to stop. The waitress/bartender was super friendly and the decorations were exactly what I would want in a restaurant/bar. Lots of fun signs and animals on the walls, with one wall completely dedicated to the badgers! The food was pretty reasonably priced and tasted quite good. We were pretty excited because they had pepperjack cheesecurds on the menu, which have been my favorite type of curd. They came out looking more like cheese cubes, but had a nice fry on them where the outside was crisp and the inside was nice and melty, the cheese just oozed out. I will say I would have preferred a different dipping sauce, as what they had was a honey aioli. Maybe a honey mustard or a classic ranch would have suited me better. However I would still say get the curds, they come in 3 flavors. We also got the fried bluegill and the whiskey bbq chicken wrap. You get quite a lot of bluegill for the price and it had a nice taste, it was just a little more greasy than I tend to like. The whiskey bbq had a great flavor! I kind of just wish I would have ordered it on the side and dipped my wrap in it though, as there was a little more than I would like in the wrap and I lost some of the lettuce and onions flavor because of it. We stopped in to eat simple hamburgers for lunch. First off, we waited an HOUR for our 2 Burgers. Once brought to the table, they weren't cooked properly (well done) and missing the "extras" that were supposed to be on them. Considering we were very hungry, we "choked" them down, paid and left. Would Highly advise to go somewhere else; that serves better food and doesn't take an hour for a simple burger. read more

This was a regular stop for us on Fridays on our way through but we stopped on a Wednesday and doubt we'll be back. We stopped on around 3 there were 3 people in the bar and no bartender to be seen. After about 10 minutes she appeared and asked us what we wanted. We each ordered a beer. I got up and grabbed menus. We waited to order and finally got her attention for a second beer and place an order. Hubs ordered the jalapeño burger and I got a fish sandwich. We waited 30 minutes and finally asked how much longer our food would be. The bartender had forgotten to put our food in. She was more concerned with shaking dice for drinks than the customers. The bar itself appeared dirty and disorganized.The cook brought out our food and apologized. Burger was excellent and fish sandwich was huge. We waved down the bartender again to grab our check and a box. We asked about a lady who always waited on us and were told she no longer worked there. This was a disappointment for us as she always was an epic bartender and had a wisecrack for everyone. We have been stopping through for years but this time put a thorn in our sides. The employee was less than pleasant and seemed put off we even ordered. Hopefully they get some better help. read more

The last thing I expected to find in a restaurant up north in a tiny town was the most delicious homemade chicken curry soup I have ever had in my entire life. I thought I was inviting trouble by ordering such an oddity on the menu, but no, my bowl was the envy of the table. But honestly, it wasn't the envy by much, because all the food was delicious. And substantial. I split a burger and fries with someone, and the sandwiches were big enough to do the same. I can't wait to go back and try other items. read more

While the Cameron House serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, my review is strictly breakfast. I am a breakfast freak; before I even get out of bed I envision the yolk of my perfectly cooked eggs oozing into my crispy potatoes. As you can tell, I am a girl who enjoys her vittles! The corned beef hash is prepared with large chunks of home cooked corned beef. The dish is served with two eggs (I love over-easy) and two slices of thick cut cinnamon raisin toast (baked right in their kitchen) slathered with real butter. This dish is absolutely one of my favorites. Order with a spicy Bloody Mary with a chaser and you are sure to be one happy diner!! read more

We used to go to Cameron House once a week for the all you can eat wings, but then it was closed for a while due to the fire and subsequent reconstruction. We were so happy when it reopened even though we were no longer able to come as often. The burgers are handmade and so may inventive options! The olive and cream cheese burger is amazing, so rich! The wings are huge, and the General Tso sauce is my absolute favorite though the buffalo is always good too. A few years ago, the owners had a share in a resort and were not able to spend as much time/attention on the restaurant, and it went downhill for a while there. We stopped going, and so did our friends who we had introduced to the place. We heard they quit the resort and decided to try Cameron House again. So happy it was back to the old high standards! Great food, great service once more. The home-cooking, personal attention was back again! The prime rib is some of the best I've ever had, even including what we have cooked ourselves! My friend had chicken alfredo one day, and she said it was clearly not from a can. So rich and delicious, real cheese and cream! read more

We used to love this place and came here a lot - we like supporting local businesses, but lately it's gone downhill so much. We have had a couple poor experiences in the past, but we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, this one took the cake. It was awful. We come in and get set at a dirty table (there was food ALL over the floor), waited forever for menus, a lady finally comes in from outside and we watched her put her hair up IN THE KITCHEN before coming to our table and asking us if we were ready to order (ummm no, we haven't even gotten menus!), then order an appetizer basket that comes out a giant glob of stuck together unidentifiable foods that were burnt to a solid char, then had to go get our own silverware!! Disgusting and gross. We'll take our money somewhere else. Our last experience was poor but we wanted to give our local business another chance. I guess we know where we won't be going again for a very long time. Our 1 year old was very hungry and had to wait almost an extra hour for his dinner, due to choosing to come here. read more

stopped in for Valentines day 2/14/15. They had several tables available and said that we could only sit in a table 6" from another couple or by a table directly under a TV because they had reservations. We were at the restaurant for 90 minutes and no one else showed up and all the tables we requested were empty. Additionally, my wife ordered a rib eye steak and she received a tough sirloin that you could hardly bite into. We questioned the steak and they replaced with the Rib Eye that we actually ordered. The lunch specials I've had have been very good with plenty of food (minimally processed). An example was a corned beef sandwich with the corned beef cut in thick slices right off the brisket - as opposed to, for instance, thin slices of round corned beef you know was formed from sectioned meat and slurry. Soups are homemade and delicious. I found the prices to be reasonable. The steak dinner I had there was very good, as well. Friendly atmosphere. read more
